The Puppeteer Trophy in Shadows of the Damned

  • The Puppeteer

Perform a Head Shot right after a Leg Mutilation when the enemy is flying back in the air

    How to unlock The Puppeteer

This is one of the harder trophies in the game next to Nasty Headache.

As per the trophy description, you'll need to shoot off a Demon's legs then quickly kill it with a head shot while it's still in the air. Note that the slow motion camera effect does not and probably won't trigger; so that's not required for the trophy. An easy way to earn this is with The Teethgrinder. Get close, but not too close, and fire at a demon's leg, and when you shoot them off, aim upwards just a bit towards their head while they're still in the air. With any luck, you'll shoot off their head, earning you the trophy.

There's no real strategy to this trophy other than to practice, practice, practice until you get it. Once you're able to pull it off, the trophy will unlock. Be glad you only had to that once!

  • This trophy is hard. probably the trickiest in the game i reckon.
  • Whew. Got this by chance during 3-1.
  • tought it was going to be harder, but with the machine gun second upgrade just make him "dance" and there is the trophy..a little waste of ammo thou
  • I have another quick solution if anyone wants to verify that it works. I'm pretty sure I got the trophy doing this, or was just lucky enough in the process. Try this: Stick the enemy with the hotboner's secondary fire. Pop them in the air by shooting off a limb. Detonate explosive. If this works, then the big glowing ball makes for an easier shot than just the small color blending head.
  • I don't know if makes sense, but i think that upgrading the damage for your weapon helps to make the things easier. While i was playing my 2nd playthrough on NORMAL, i've used the 'Unlimited Red Gem glitch'(see forum thread) to fully upgrade my TEETHER and BONER, early on chapter 2-1. And using the TEETHER upgraded i've got the trophy early on the game(ch 3-1 i think). Soon after i've done it, i've changed the weapon for the BONER and in a few tries, i managed to do it again. So i think the upgrades helped a lot, or it was just luck.
  • I still really have no idea how i got this trophy, i really dont understand the description either. But it was one my first ones :o
