Introduction:
Rez Infinite is the PS4 port of the musical rail-shooter classic, featuring a completely new level and also supporting the PlayStation VR, though you do not need a PSVR to play and earn the in this game. If you have played Rez HD on Xbox360, the trophy list will be familiar to you as it is basically the same as the achievement list (plus a few new ones for the new Area X).

Walkthrough
Many of the trophies in Rez' trophy list are based around beating the high score, but these are pretty easy to beat if you remember the game's basic: Hold and aim up to 8 enemies / targets, and then let go of . You will earn way more points this way. Other than this and with a bit practice and being familiar with the levels, achieving the should not be overly difficult.

Step 1: Clear Area 1 to Area 5 in Play Mode

Before you can dive into the new Area X, you will need to play the original five levels first. While you can earn the trophies for the first four areas in travelling mode (you take no damage in this mode compared to the regular play mode), it is not recommended to do so in preparation for later trophies.

During Step 1 you will earn these trophies:
The EARTH
The MARS
The VENUS
The URANUS
Eden

Step 2: Play the new Area X

You can now freely choose whether you want to clean up the remaining trophies for the original areas first, and do all of Area X afterwards, or jump right into the new Area. Since this new level is probably what you have bought the game for (or simply want to experience it now), the next steps will focus on Area X, and the remaining steps on cleaning up the original areas.
So for Step 2, simply enjoy the new Area X. During this initial play through Area X, you can try to achieve a shot down ratio over 95% to save a run later.

During Step 2 you will earn this trophy:
Either Buttefly Dream or Birds in the Sky (depending on which color enemy you shot down)

Step 3: Defeat the Other Boss in Area X

Replay Area X and defeat the boss you did not defeat in the previous playthrough by defeating the other enemy (either red or blue) who are fighting each other in the middle of the playthrough. If you like, you can try to achieve a shot down ratio over 95% to save a run later.

During Step 3 you will earn this trophy:
Either Buttefly Dream or Birds in the Sky

Step 4: Clear Area X With a Shot Down Ratio Over 95%

Now that you got a feel for this area, you can aim for a clear with a shot down ratio over 95% if you have not got it in the previous two steps. You will need to do this two times: Once while defeating the standard final boss, and once with the alternative final boss.

During Step 4 you will earn these trophies:
Blue Butterfly
Blue Bird

Step 5: Area X Cleanup

If you have not gotten the three miscellaneous Area X trophies in one of the previous runs yet, now is the time to earn them.

During Step 5 you will earn these trophies:
Singularity
Artistry
Infinity

Step 6: Beat the High Score in the Lost Area

Now is the time to return to the original five areas; more specifically, to the bonus stuff. The following steps can be done in any order, but doing some goals first will unlock options in the selection of Beyond Mode options, which will make some of the further playthroughs easier. But first, beat the High Score in the Lost Area with the standard options set. As this trophy is for beating a High Score and not just clearing, you want to avoid having set high score-disabling options.

During Step 6 you will earn this trophy:
The Forgotten

Step 7: Clear All Five Original Areas With a Shot Down Ratio Over 95%

If you have not achieved a shot down ratio over 95% in all five areas yet, now is the time to do it. This will unlock infinite overdrive for Beyond Mode, which is very useful for the direct assault runs.

During Step 7 you will earn this trophy:
Lazer Assassin

Step 8: Beat the High Score in Score Attack Mode For All Five Original Areas

While you could clear the direct assault (a run through all five areas without pause) now, it is recommended to beat the High Score in all five areas in Score Attack mode first since you are now well familiar with the individual levels.

During Step 8 you will earn this trophy:
Ultimate Cracker

Step 9: Beat the High Score in Boss Rush Mode

Beat the High Score in Boss Rush Mode (defeating all bosses one after one without playing through the individual levels beforehand). This might take a few tries, but the bosses from area 4 and especially area 5 offer lots of chances to score extra points.

During Step 9 you will earn this trophy:
Firewall Buster

Step 10: Clear All Direct Assault Levels

Now is the time for playing through all six Direct Assault levels. You do not need to beat the high score in any Direct Assault level, so you can activate infinite overdrive in the Beyond Mode options. Some bosses may need adjustments due to their movements, but you can play through the levels before the bosses by just activating overdrive with over and over.

Since each Direct Assault run takes about an hour, you will likely earn the trophy for playing the game for 10 hours as well during this step.

During Step 10 you will earn these trophies:
Trance Hacker
The Rezident

Step 11: Cleanup

Now is the time for cleaning up any trophy you have not gotten yet, which if you followed this Roadmap should be only one trophy (the one for clearing Score Attack Mode 30 times) as you will very likely unlock the trophy for beating all High Scores in Score Attack Mode well before clearing it 30 times. The first area is the shortest and easiest, so play it over and over until you get the trophy. If you got all other trophies, this will also unlock the .

During Step 11 you will earn these trophies:
Power Breaker
Master of Rez

  • Unlock all Rez Infinite trophies.

As usual, earn all other trophies to earn the . Congratulations!

  • Clear area 1 in play mode or travelling mode.

This is the first level that should get you a feeling for the game as enemies rarely attack you. You can earn this trophy by clearing this area in either travelling mode or play mode, but you will need to clear it in play mode in order to unlock area 5 later.

During playing the level, you will notice a small bot with a purple cube attached. Shoot the bot once to free the purple box, then hit the box eight times (or with one charged shot with holding and the cursor reaching MAX) to increase your analyzation level, which also changes your layer layout. There are ten of these boxes in total.

If you fail to shoot a box or miss them, the level will continue regardless, so it is not required. You do however need to reach 100% analyzation in this area to be able unlock area 5 later, so try to hit them all.

There are two kinds of items you can collect after defeating some enemies. The blue items fill your HP gauge on the lower left of the screen. Once the gauge hits 8 stocks, your avatar will level up by one. The red items fill your overdrive stock; you can save up to 4. Activating an overdrive with will automatically target enemies for a short amount of time which is helpful when you are surrounded by many enemies or missiles which are about to hit you. You can collect both types of items by targeting them with as if you would target an enemy.

After playing through the level, there will be a boss which you will have to face. You can clear the boss phase by either emptying the boss' HP gauge on the top of the screen, or by letting it self-destruct, which will happen if you do not defeat the boss in time. For clearing the areas in play mode, either way is fine, but for the trophies later that require you to beat a high score, you should defeat the boss as only that will net you points.

There are three versions of the boss that can spawn: Mega, Giga, and Tera. The Mega version is the weakest and will trigger if you have shot down below 90% of enemies in the regular level. The Giga version is slightly stronger and spawns with a shot down ratio of 90%-98%. The Tera version is the strongest and spawns when you have shot down over 98%. You can see which version spawns in the text on the upper left section of the screen when the boss spawns. For just clearing the area in play mode, this is not really important, but for beating a high score later, the higher version net more points upon defeating them.

  • Clear area 2 in play mode or travelling mode.

You can earn this trophy by clearing area 2 in either travelling mode or play mode, but you will need to clear it in play mode in order to unlock area 5 later. There are more enemies now that will attack you by firing missiles, but you can avoid that if you defeat them quickly. When multiple enemies appear that take more than one hit to defeat, take them out one by one.

  • Clear area 3 in play mode or travelling mode.

You can earn this trophy by clearing area 3 in either travelling mode or play mode, but you will need to clear it in play mode in order to unlock area 5 later. Almost all enemies will attack you now, so be prepared to take them down quickly. There are a few enemies that shoot a laser at you, but they will take time to charge the laser. You can defeat them by rapidly pressing targeting where they charge the laser.

  • Clear area 4 in play mode or travelling mode.

You can earn this trophy by clearing area 4 in either travelling mode or play mode, but you will need to clear it in play mode in order to unlock area 5. Almost all enemies will take multiple hits to take them down. Charge the cursor by holding and defeat them one by one.

  • Eden

Clear area 5 in play mode.

Clear area 5 in play mode to earn this trophy. Area 5 will be unlocked if you have cleared area 1-4 in play mode and have reached 100% analyzation in all four areas. Clearing these areas in just travelling mode will not unlock area 5.

Area 5 is a lot longer than the previous areas. Playing through it completely takes about 30 minutes. Area 5 does not have the same purple analyzation boxes as the previous areas. Instead, there will spawn analyzation gates where you will have to hit eight targets around the gates to open them. If you fail to do so, you will take damage as you will go through these gates automatically. There are also more than 10 of these analyzation gates throughout the level.

Area 5 also has more than one boss. There will be five bosses in total. The first four bosses are in parts similar to the bosses from area 1-4 respectively. After defeating one of these four bosses, three items will be spawned which you have to collect quickly if you want them before automatically proceeding. When reaching the fifth boss, you can target the small triangles flying around the middle rings to get some extra items. To defeat the last boss, you have to destroy all of the middle rings and then target the top or bottom orbs that are then coming out.

  • Achieve the high score in lost area.

Beat the high score of 150,000 points in lost area to earn this trophy. Lost area will unlock after clearing area 5 and is located in the Beyond menu. Charging your cursor to MAX by targeting up to eight enemies is very important as you will earn way more points instead of rapidly tapping . With this in mind, you should not have problems to beat the high score.

Since this mode is found in the Beyond menu, you can set some options there. You can set your starting avatar to the Final Form if you have unlocked the trophy The Rezident as it will be unlocked by playing for over 10 hours. You cannot however activate invincibility nor infinite overdrives as this will disable the high score and thus you will not earn this trophy after beating the high score, so make sure you do not have these options activated when attempting this trophy.

  • Achieve a shot down rate of 95% in areas 1-5.

Clear all five areas with a shot down ratio of over 95%. This should not be hard to do for area 1 to area 4, but area 5 will take practice. If you see many enemies on screen, remember that you do not need to charge your cursor to MAX, but can simply rapidly press to shoot the enemies down, or you activate an overdrive with .

In most layers in area 5, a few extra enemies will spawn often behind the analyzation gate. When you activate the analyzation gate and see no further enemies on the screen for now, hold and target the analyzation gate. If enemies spawn behind the gate, they will be targeted immediately. You will see them at the latest when you pass the analyzation gate, but mostly time will be insufficient to take them all down when you start shooting them just then.

  • Achieve 100% shot down rate and item collection rate in areas 1-5 or play for over 10 hours.

There are two ways to unlock this trophy. You have to either collect all items and shoot down all enemies in all five areas, or you unlock it the easy way by playing the game for over 10 hours. If you are aiming for the , you will unlock this trophy naturally as for example just clearing all direct assaults for Trance Hacker will take about 6 hours alone. You cannot unlock this trophy by leaving the console running in the main menu though; you have to actively play in the levels.

  • Clear direct assault (trance).

Do not confuse this trophy with the trance mission that unlocks after beating the high score in the lost area. Trance mission is an endless mission and no trophies are tied to it.

This trophy is tied to the direct assault mode in Beyond which unlocks after clearing area 5 in play mode, and you have to clear a few direct assaults before unlocking direct assault (trance). There are six direct assaults in total (normal, ambient, punk, old school, psychedelic, and trance) and you have to clear each one in order to unlock the next. Clearing the direct assault in trance will unlock this trophy. In direct assault, you will have to beat all five areas without pause after each other, so expect each direct assault to take about an hour.

Luckily for this trophy, beating the high score is not required, so you just need to play through the direct assaults. This means you can activate infinite overdrives from the Beyond Mode options and the clear still counts. You can press over and over again and do not need to manually aim at the enemies to shoot them down. You may have to adjust during the boss phases in area 2 and onwards, since they move around often. Overdrives only aims at targets on your current screen area, so the bosses may land hits from behind you if you are not careful.

Selecting the Final Form as starting avatar from the Beyond mode options can be helpful, but is not needed as you are able to collect items from the regular layers in all areas. Infinite overdrives are unlocked upon beating the high score in boss rush mode, so see Firewall Buster for that. Before that, you will have to beat area 1-5 with a shot down ratio of 95%, so the recommended order of unlocking infinite overdrives and attempting this trophy is: Shot down 95% in area 1-5 -> Boss Rush Mode -> Direct Assaults.

  • Achieve the high score in boss rush mode.

Boss rush mode will be unlocked once you have achieved a shot down ratio of 95% in areas 1-5, which means you have to earn the trophy Lazer Assassin first. Once you do, the boss rush mode will be unlocked, and you can attempt to beat the high score which is 300,000 points. In the boss rush mode, you will have to defeat all bosses from the five areas one by one starting with the boss from area 1 and finishing with all bosses from area 5. The regular layers from the levels do not appear here. This also means you do not have the chance to level up your avatar or stock up on overdrives by collecting items.

Luckily, there is still a way to make it easier if you struggle to do it this way. Since this mode is found in the Beyond menu, you can set some options there. You can set your starting avatar to the Final Form if you have unlocked the trophy The Rezident as it will be unlocked by playing for over 10 hours. You cannot activate invincibility as this will disable the high score and thus you will not earn this trophy after clearing boss rush or even beating the high score, so make sure you do not have this option activated when attempting this trophy. Infinite Overdrives unlocks upon beating the high score here, but activating this option disables the high score ranking.

All bosses in boss rush mode will appear in their Giga form, which means they are the middle form in terms of strength. You will earn points by defeating the bosses, but this will not be enough to reach the high score. Concentrate on earning extra points by aiming for the missiles they shoot at you. It is also very important to charge your cursor to MAX before shooting (locking on eight targets) as you will earn more points due to the multiplier. You cannot completely ignore the boss though, so try to mix targeting missiles / small enemies and targeting the boss.

You can earn the most points towards the high score of 300,000 points by shooting down as many small cubes as possible during the boss phase in area 4, and in area 5 by targeting the small triangles and their missiles instead of the boss during the last boss fight from the boss section. During this last boss fight, when you destroy one of the moving rings and the weak points appear, do not bring these weak points down as soon as possible, but instead wait until they spawn many missiles. They will continually spawn missiles, so this is your chance to earn many extra points with maxed locked targets.

  • Clear score attack mode 30 times.

Score attack mode is unlocked upon clearing area 5 and you have to clear it 30 times to earn this trophy. It does not matter whether you earn a new high score or not, simply clear it 30 times. While there is a trophy for beating the high score in all 5 areas (see Ultimate Cracker ), chances are that you will earn that trophy well before clearing score attack mode 30 times.

Unfortunately, you cannot activate beyond mode options for score attack mode as it is not connected to Beyond. So you will have to play through score attack actively and cannot cheese through it with (for example) infinite overdrives. If you have already unlocked the other trophy, then choose area 1 as it is the shortest and easiest area. Clear it over and over. Due to the length of the area, this will still be a grind for a few hours.

  • Achieve the high score in five areas of score attack mode.

Beat the high score in score attack mode in all five areas to earn this trophy. Area 1 to area 4 have a high score of 150,000 points to beat, while area 5 is 300,000 points. Charging your cursor to MAX by targeting up to eight enemies is very important as you will earn way more points instead rapidly tapping . Keep in mind that you do not have to reach a certain shot down ratio to be able to beat the high score, though you should try to reach 90% or more to spawn the Giga version of the boss as defeating the Giga version does give more points than the Mega version.

Area 1 and area 2 should not be a problem for beating their high score. In area 3, it is very important that you do wait a short amount before shooting enemies down. Most enemies will attack you by sending missiles your way, so make sure you target these missiles as well. Target the enemy, keep holding , and when the enemy shoots missiles, target them as well, and then stop holding . In the boss area, you can target the falling cubes before facing the actual boss for a few extra thousand points.

During the boss phase in area 4, you can get about 50,000 points just by focusing on targeting the small cubes instead of the boss which should be enough to reach the high score (do attack the boss as well though to avoid having it self-destruct). In area 5, target the small triangles and their missiles instead of the boss during the last boss fight from the boss section. When you destroy one of the moving rings and the weak points appear, do not bring these weak points down as soon as possible, but instead wait until they spawn many missiles. They will repeat spawning missiles, so this is your chance to earn many extra points with maxed locked targets.

A new item may appear which does not appear during regular play mode. This item is a green-coloured rectangular-shaped bonus item which may appear after defeating some enemies, and it boosts your score by a few thousand points. You can collect it as if you would collect normal HP and overdrive items.

  • Clear AreaX by defeating the standard final boss.

Area X is not available from the beginning, so you will need to unlock it first. Area X is unlocked by clearing Area 5 from the original levels. Afterwards, you can access Area X from the main menu.

For this trophy, you have to clear Area X by defeating the standard final boss. Area X has two possible bosses at its final layer. Which one of the bosses appears will be determined in the layer where the red and blue robots fight each other. You have to defeat the red robot to trigger the standard final boss (look at this trophy image to see what it looks like). Unlike the original Rez levels, remember that you can move freely around by holding and completely stop by pressing .

  • Clear AreaX by triggering and defeating the alternate final boss.

See Buttefly Dream . For this trophy, you have to defeat the blue robot to trigger the alternative final boss at the end of the level (look at this trophy image to see what it looks like).

  • Defeat the standard final boss of AreaX with a shotdown ratio over 95%.

For this trophy, you need to shoot down over 95% of the enemies in Area X. This will most likely not come naturally. As a general rule of thumb, remember that you can move around freely with and stop with . When you keep your distance, you will be able to target enemies more easily since the cursor targets enemies no matter how far away they are. When you are very close to the enemy and new enemies spawn nearby, you will likely miss some of them because you have to move around your screen a lot resulting in more hectic. Keeping your distance is especially useful in the layer with the long whales that have eight targets and change the colour of these targets a few times before they are defeated, and in the boss layer. In the boss layer, move away as soon as possible and also a bit down so that you have a good view of the whole field.

In the layer with the small orbs connected to the large orb in the middle, do not shoot them immediately when you get close to them. Move around and activate all of the small orbs so that they all appear red. Then start targeting the ones in the distance. Upon destroying one of the orbs, small enemies will always spawn nearby that orb (usually four enemies). When you are far away of this orb, it is very easy to target them all.

Whenever the analyzation cubes appear that warp you to the next layer, you do not need to activate them immediately. They will float around even if you move away, so you cannot miss them. Use this chance to check the area for any missed enemies. A few times, there are cubes that only can be targeted when you get close to them which you would otherwise miss if you activate the analyzation cube as soon as possible. In the layers where you move automatically like in the original Rez levels, you can also stop by pressing , so that you can focus on targeting the enemies. Then continue moving with until the next set of enemies appear.

There are two trophies where you have to achieve a shot down ratio of over 95% in Area X. For this trophy, you have to defeat the standard final boss with having shot down 95% of the enemies. Make sure you defeat the red robot to trigger the standard final boss at the end.

  • Defeat the alternate final boss of AreaX with a shotdown ratio over 95%.

Similar to Blue Butterfly , but you have to defeat the alternative final boss instead with a shot down ratio over 95%. The same tactics for the other trophy apply here as well, so just make sure you defeat the blue robot to trigger the alternative final boss at the end.

  • Clear AreaX with your avatar at its highest possible evolution level.

A few times during playing the level, enemies will spawn light blue orbs after defeating them. Unlike in the original areas of Rez, you do not need to collect eight item points to level up, but you will level up with just one light blue orb which you can collect just by targeting and pressing as if you would shoot it. During Area X, you also only need to level up two times to reach the highest possible evolution level, so this is easy to reach. When you have reached the highest possible evolution level, your avatar will be white and have a meditating position, just as you can see in the image of this trophy. Also for this trophy, you also have to clear the level at this evolution level, so avoid getting hit during the final boss which is easy if you keep your distance from the final boss and stay there.

  • Clear AreaX without taking any damage.

Some enemies will attack you when you take too long to defeat them. The attacks are in the form of small violet particles that will slowly move towards you and hit you when you do not target them and shoot them down. You will not be immediately hit, so you have time to react and shoot them down by aiming just as you would attack the enemy. Since you can freely move around in Area X, there may be cases where neither enemies nor attack particles are in your currently visible screen area. In this case, a part of the border of your cursor will blink in violet so that you just have to move in that direction to get them on your screen.

When you get hit, your avatar will level down, so you will clearly notice whenever you get hit. If you are having problems with earning this trophy, try to stay in one position and do not hectically move around. You are able to target and hit enemies when they are far away which is conveniently even easier as when they are close.

During the layer with the two robots fighting each other, try to stay away from both, or defeat one of them as fast as possible before they are even able to spawn violet particles. During the final boss phase, go as far away as possible from the final boss and stay there. This makes it easier to target incoming attack particles.

  • Destroy over 300 Bit enemies in AreaX.

Sometimes when you defeat enemies in Area X (or while attacking them), they will spawn small blue enemies in their place. These will disappear after a short while and will not attack you. Defeat over 300 of them to earn this trophy. There is no active counter for this at all in the game, but these Bit enemies will spawn a lot in the layer with the small orbs that are all connected to a large orb, and especially plenty while facing the final boss. The trophy will unlock after clearing the level and seeing the credits, and not during playing the level.
