Welcome to Retro Classix: Two Crude! ...or Crude Busters....or Two Crude Dudes!. Any of our old school gamers out there, has likely heard of this under one of those titles. This was a classic from the Arcade and Sega Genesis/Megadrive days. An old school multiplayer beat em up, where you go it alone or work with a friend to take down a crime syndicate in a post apocalytic world in 2040.
This game in particular is based on the arcade version...so I can't stress enough how incredibly punishing this game is to play (they wanted you spending them quarters). The reason for the 2/10 Plat difficulty is two fold. 1. You're TECHNICALLY invincible, the game has a coin stystem where each coin = 1 Continue, but to insert a coin all you need to do is press . So while you have 3 lives per continue, you have infinite continues so you never REALLY die. and 2. While that would normally make it a 1/10, the game is still stupidly hard so it requires some work to get through. But since you won't see some kind of Game Over screen (unless you forget to reup your continues), it's more about soldiering on until the end then anything.
Controls:
to Attack
to Lift. Swing/Throw object
to Jump
+ to Roll
to Insert Coin
Step 1: Spend 20 and 150 Coins
This is simple enough, before you do anything, right at the start of the game before you can even play, you have to "Insert Coin". Otherwise, you'll just see the AI play. To do this, simply press . Once the game starts that'll coinsider you spending 1 Coin. Simply stand there and press 149 more times. The counter on the screen is going to max out at 99, just keep pressing and it'll pop when you hit 150.

Coin Operator
Coin Wizard
Step 2: Play the Game until the end of Stage 3
Do note you don't HAVE to do this now, you can finish the game first then do it on your next playthough. But here's the thing, while you'll easily get the Welcome! trophy for playing for 5 minutes. The Dedication! and Superfan trophies are technically glitched. They WILL NOT unlock at 30 minutes or an hour unless you're some kind of God at this game and make it an hour without dying. So a workaround to this is to make it to the end of Stage 3, a cargo Chopper will show up that see's you needing to beat the enemies then destroying the cargo hold, then normally you'd just take out the Chopper....instead, damage the front of the chopper just enough to get the gun to stop firing long range. Walk to the right of the screen and either hold the stick in that direction or rubber band your controller. The chopper can't hit you at this point and your movement will make the game think you're constantly playing and the 30 Minutes and 1 Hour trophies will pop this way. You can continue playing after this.
TIP: You can also use this time to get the Retro Buddies trophy, just do the same thing with a second controller...but that only took a couple minutes to pop for me.
Trophies Earned in this Step:
Welcome!
Dedication!
Superfan
Retro Buddies (if you decide to do it here)
Step 3: Complete the rest of the game.
After doing the above, just complete the rest of the game. There are 6 stages that get increasingly more difficult as you go. Dying is inevitable here, you just need to use those continues up and just keep progressing as you revive. Now the game has a points system and one of the trophies is for hitting the top score of 1,000,000 Points. Doing this legit would be a nightmare, as every time you use a continue it resets your score. But don't worry, defeating the final boss nets you exactly 1,000,000 points, so this trophty isn't really missable. HOWEVER...there are reports after the credits roll and you need to enter your initials for your score, that if you attempt to put your initals in, the game kicks itself back to the title screen and starts over without giving you the trophies...so I suggest when you get to this point, just press quickly to get out. marking yourself as AAA. Besides, the game doesn't save your high score anyways...when you turn the game off and on agaiin your score is erased.

Apprentice
Master
Step 4: Grab a second controller and bring in a second player.
If you didn't do this in Step 2, nows the time. There is no online component here so it's local couch MP, you will need a second controller for this. I did this in Step 2, but it literally only took like 2 minutes to pop the trophy. So not much time is needed.

Congrats on your 100% you Crude Dude!
