Following the success achieved by the remake of Resident Evil 2 in 2019, Capcom continues the reimaging of yet another of its most acclaimed games of the PS1 generation: Resident Evil 3. This remake starts from the base left by its predecessor, rebuilding several of the classic locations, while at the same time offering new scenarios and mechanics to enjoy. While the new mechanics make this game a little more action oriented, it does not completely leave the survival horror genre.

With regard to the roadmap, for those who played RE2 Remake, you will feel right at home since the list is quite similar, and as is common with the rest of the games of the series, we are talking about multiple runs in different difficulties (including a speedrun trophy), collectibles and some other missable trophies that you must be careful of. However, the game itself is shorter than its predecessor; also, the dodge mechanics included will allow you to leave unharmed of most of the encounters (even those carried out against Nemesis).

A side note about the new “dodge mechanic”

As in the original 1999 game, RE3 remake introduces a dodge mechanic which can be used against all enemies, and whose understanding is highly recommended if you want to be able to deal with Nemesis (especially at higher difficulties), considering that escaping is not an easy option to achieve.

The dodge can be used several times and consecutively (there is no reload bar as in other games) but be aware that it takes a recovery time after performing it. There are two variations of the dodge mechanic:

  • Normal Dodge is executed by pressing R1 and can be used in conjunction with the left stick to perform a basic escape maneuver, helpful in gaining some space between Jill and her enemies. Additionally, if you press R1 while running, Jill will perform a forward escape maneuver, while if you press R1 during the aiming animation, Jill will do a backward maneuver to gain some space.
  • Perfect Dodge This dodge is performed by pressing R1 at the right time before an enemy's attack connects. If you did it properly, the screen whooshes white, time stops and Jill will perform an escape maneuver that will allow her to either continue with the walking / enemy's running momentum, or, if you hold down the trigger button while this happens, allow you to attack the enemy's weak spots with the weapon you have equipped (including the knife). Two important points: i) Perfect dodge can be used while running, standing or even when aiming; and ii) The timing differs between difficulties, so it is advisable to practice it on higher difficulty settings if you want to be better prepared for later.

Finally, RE3 reintroduces an escape mechanic called Emergency Escape. This action, which is basically a quick time event, while it does not prevent the damage taken, it certainly reduces it. A tip related to this point is that if you don't like pressing buttons quickly, you can change the Action Prompt Input type to "Hold" in the Control Settings option.

New All In-Game Rewards DLC

On August 5, Capcom released a new payable DLC which allows you to unlock, among others, all the difficulty modes, the shop, and all the items obtainable within, decreasing the amount of playthroughs needed, as well as the platinum difficulty in general. Despite this, the Roadmap will continue to consider the experience without DLC.

Step 1: Assisted run while getting all collectibles related trophies, one or less recovery items and getting any other missable trophies.
Start a new game and select the Assisted difficulty. You will use this opportunity to get acquainted with the game and its new mechanics, learn the location of items (especially Key items), and gather all the collectible trophies. In this difficulty, enemies are slower and weaker, your life regenerates from Danger to Caution state automatically and Nemesis is less fierce.

Similarly, I suggest using this opportunity to also get the I Might Need These Later! trophy, which requires beating the game while using one or less recovery items (You might feel "forced" to use a recovery item during an specific event early into the game though, which is not really neccessary under Assisted, it is for this reason that the trophy specifically points to "one or less").

In addition, and in preparation for step 1.5, I recommend performing three manual saves in the following places:

  1. Donut Shop - Objective: Return to the Subway Station
  2. Hospital / Makeshift Sickroom – Objective: Defend Jill
  3. NEST 2 / Storage – Objective: Get the Vaccine

Finally, regarding collectibles, you can refer to the “Additional Resources” section for a detailed guide on where to find them.

At the end of this step you will have earned the following trophies:

First Escape
Somebody to Lean On
Escape from the City
Hello, Charlie! (Missable)
Basic Chemistry
Gunsmith (Missable)
Get Organized (Missable)
Power Stones (Missable)
Nemesis Down
Nemesis Down?
An Unfortunate End (Missable)
The Carlos Express
I Don't Feel So Good
Two For One Deal (Missable)
I Need a Hero
RE: Master of Unlocking (Missable)
Kendo's Armory (Missable)
The Pursuer
Goodbye, Charlie! (Missable)
Electric Slide (Missable)
Nemesis Down!?
Nemesis Down!!!
Bookworm (Missable)
I Might Need These Later! (Missable)

Step 1.5: Getting the Infinite Rocket Launcher weapon.

After you beat the game for the first time, you will be able to buy items from the in-game shop by spending points obtained while completing the game’s Records, which are 58 accumulative trials similar to the ones found in Resident Evil 2 remake.

An important thing to mention is that these Records are recorded on your player profile, so you can reload your manual save (or autosave) and continue farming them at any point during the game. One small detail, however, is that while you can check your progress at any time during the Pause menu, you can only buy items from the Title Screen (under the Bonus Section).

The reason for having this intermediate step is that you can get extremely helpful items, which will make the time and difficulty of the next steps considerably less. In addition to this, none of the items block any trophies!

It is extremely important that you -at least- get the Infinite Rocket Launcher (62.400 points). However, I recommend taking the time to farm enough points to also get: Recovery Coins, Iron Defense Coins and the two Hip Pouches. Optionally, you could also get the S.T.A.R.S. Field Combat Manual to make your dodges easier to perform, something that will serve you a lot during the Nightmare and Inferno difficulty runs in which enemies are much more aggressive (If you followed step number one correctly, you'll have just over 14.000 points to spend).

For more details on the costs of each of these items, as well as some videos with the suggested places to farm kills, check out the Additional Resources section of the guide.

Step 2: Second assisted run without using the item box

While you can set aside this run to the end, I recommend taking the opportunity considering that you find yourself farming points for the items mentioned above. Two arguments that support this run here are that: 1) You get 7.000 points for beating the game without using the item box; and 2) You will be fresh in terms of the positioning of the items (which is different during Nightmare and Inferno difficulties).

At the end of this step you will have earned the following trophy:

Minimalist (Missable)

Step 3: Beat the game on Hardcore to unlock Nightmare Difficulty
With the Infinite Rocket Launcher at your disposal (and if possible, armed with the suggested additional items), make a speedrun in Hardcore to unlock Nightmare difficulty. An important difference from Resident Evil 2´s Hardcore mode is that the game performs periodic autosaves the same way it does in lower difficulties. This means you can beat the game without having to perform any manual saves at all.

At the end of this step you will have earned the following trophies:

Survivor
Veteran

Additionally, If you didn't do it during your “No Item box” run (and manually saved five times or less), chances are you'll also get the following trophies during this step:

Sensational Work! (Missable)
Sprinter (Missable)

If for some reason you didn't get these trophies, don't worry, as we'll definitely get them during step 5.

Step 4: Beat the game on Nightmare to unlock Inferno Difficulty

Nightmare is a new difficulty added to the game. In this mode, key items are repositioned (however, this doesn’t affect items necessary for the story progress); enemies are more aggressive than in Hardcore difficulty, take more damage, their positioning is different, and the game throws you (literally) more of them at any time. Similarly, Nemesis is even more aggressive than in previous difficulties.

However, since you can use the infinite Rocket Launcher (and the other items recommended), this run should not present any greater difficulties; plus, the game continues to make periodic autosaves. Take this opportunity to familiarize yourself with the new positioning of enemies and items for your Inferno playthrough.

At the end of this step you will have earned the following trophy:

Conqueror

Step 5: Beat the game on Inferno Difficulty with an S rank

Inferno is the last difficulty of the game, and as in Nightmare, the aggressiveness and speed of enemies has been escalated an additional notch. However, unlike the latter, the game no longer makes periodic autosaves and you'll also find fewer healing items, typewriters and item boxes throughout the game.
In this step, we will be focusing on getting an S rank which can be achieved by beating the game in less than 2 hours, while manually saving five times or less. While this may seem scary at first, the experience gained in the other difficulties, as well as the help of the infinite Rocket Launcher and the rest of the purchased items from the in-game shop, will make this mission a less scary one. Check out the trophy description for additional tips on suggested places to make your manual saves.

At the end of this step you will have earned the following trophies:

Dominator
Jill Valentine (Missable)

Step 6: Clean up

If you are still missing any of the trophies, use this step to get them.

At the end of this step you will earn the following trophy:

So Long, RC

33 trophies ( 12  16  16  )

  • Obtain all trophies.

Survive the horror, once again, to earn this coveted platinum!

  • Craft an item.

This trophy is story related and therefore it’s unmissable.

Self explanatory. You will earn this trophy by combining two items together, either any pair of herbs, gunpowder or key items necessary for your progress.

  • Improve a weapon.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

As with the original 1999 game, Resident Evil 3 remake introduces the possibility of upgrading your weapons by combining them with the different upgrades found throughout the game.

The earliest chance to get a weapon upgrade (and therefore this trophy) will be by opening the Safe Box at Downtown Raccoon City with the code obtained from the pharmacy´s poster.

Please refer to the Additional Resources section of this guide for the location of all the Collectibles in order of appearance.

  • Expand your inventory.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

Similary to Resident Evil 2 Remake, you will obtain this trophy the first time you increase the slots of your inventory by getting any of the six hip pouches found throughout the game.

The earliest place you can get this trophy is at Subway Power Station – Control Room (after your first encounter with the Zombie Dogs). Please refer to the Additional Resources section of this guide for the location of all the Collectibles in order of appearance.

Although extremely unlikely, you can technically miss this trophy if you don’t pick up any of the pouches during the game.

  • Place all jewels in the clock tower monument.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

Before leaving the subway station for the first time to Downtown Racoon City, you will find a clock to the left of the first typewriter of the game. On this clock, there is a dial in which you can insert 3 colored jewels (ruby, emerald and sapphire), which can be found within Fancy Boxes scattered through this part of the city.

Keep in mind that you need to insert the jewels before escaping through the subway. You'll notice you're at this point in the game after you restore the power (at the Power Station) and solve the Subway Office puzzle outlining the path for the subway. At this time, don't return to the Red Stone Street Station without getting all three jewels (or the Fancy Boxes) or the doors will close, and you will miss this trophy.

The location of the jewels is tied to the difficulty, their specific location is described below:

    Assisted, Normal and Hardcore

    1. Ruby: Inside the safe room at Moons Donuts
    2. Emerald: Inside the "Megaman" toy store. You need the lockpick to get into this store.
    3. Sapphire: Right in front of the previous store, inside the mini market. You need the Bolt Cutters to get into this door.

You can also refer to the Additional Resources section for the location of all the Collectibles within the game in order of appearance, including some key items such as the Fancy Boxes.

    Nightmare / Inferno

    1. Emerald: At the back of the pharmacy, near the poster where you get the combination for the first safe.
    2. Ruby: Inside the Subway Power Station, specifically where Drain Deimos resides, It is on top of a power box before climbing the stairs.
    3. Sapphire: In a small alley in front of the back exit of Moon Donuts. You need the Bolt Cutters in order to gain access to this area.
  • Gather all the fuses in the warehouse within 5 minutes.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

After regaining control of Jill and leaving the Hospital, you will enter a big warehouse where you have to re-establish the power of an elevator by finding three fuses (for reference, you'll see Nicholai behind a window at the top of the warehouse). As mentioned in the trophy description, the goal is to get the fuses and restore the elevator before five minutes pass.

Here's a video on how to get this trophy easily. However, keep in mind that if you try this on Nightmare or Inferno difficulties, the positioning of enemies will be different from the ones shown in the video. If you are planning on getting this trophy during any of those runs, you can still use the speedrun videos on those difficulty related trophy descriptions as reference.

Resident Evil 3: Electric Slide Trophy Video by angelbless

  • Destroy a Charlie Doll.

Please refer to the Goodbye, Charlie! trophy description.

  • Defeat two enemies with a single shot.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

While this trophy is technically missable, you will most likely get it automatically during the normal course of the game. Also, although you can do it with virtually any weapon (I did it with the Assault Rifle), your best bet is the shotgun because the bullets spread and can damage more than one enemy.

If you don't get it during your first runs, you'll definitely get it when you use the Rocket Launcher, however, if you want to get this trophy out of the way before, here's a video with an early place in the game that is quite suitable for the occasion:

Resident Evil 3: Two For One Deal Trophy Video by angelbless

  • Read all story files.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

There are 56 files scattered throughout the game and to get this trophy, you must find and read all of them. Please check the Additional Resources section of this guide for the location of all the collectibles in order of appearance.

As was the case with Resident Evil 2 remake (and as it is the case with all the collectibles), once you get them, they are instantly recorded to your Records which means you do not need to get them back if something happens (thanks to Powerpyx for this information).

  • Collect all weapons in the campaign.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

There are a total of 10 weapons in the game that count towards this trophy, 4 of them are added automatically to your inventory (Jill´s Survival Knife and G19 Handgun, Carlos´ Combat Knife and G18 Handgun), 2 of them are throwable grenades you find (Hand Grenades and Flash Grenades) and 4 of them that need to be hunted during the game. Keep in mind that the weapons bought from the in-game shop, however, do not count towards the trophy. Since it is far less possible to miss the grenades, I would only focus on the location of the 4 weapons you must definitely check out during your playthroughs:

    1. M3 Shotgun: At the Subway office (behind the door next to where you find the Fire Hose). You need the Bolt Cutters to open the case where it is stored. If you miss the Shotgun here, you will find it before leaving the sewers at the last safe room.
    2. MGL Grenade Launcher: After sliding down the Sewers to the Lower Waterway, you will come across a split path, follow the left one untill you get to a small ladder which leads into a safe room. The Grenade Launcher is inside this room. If you miss the Grenade Launcher here, you will find it before leaving the sewers at the last safe room.
    3. G18 Handgun (Burst Model): As soon as you regain control of Jill during the Hospital section of the game, check the table next to the door.
    4. .44 AE Lighting Hawk: After you regain control of Jill during the Hospital section of the game, head to the 2F of the Hospital, there, you will find a hallway with some rubble only Jill can squeeze under. Behind it, you will find a window you can drop down from to reach the 1F Courtyard (technically the same place you found the Locker Room Key with Carlos). In this place you will find a box with the Magnum inside.

If you prefer, you can check the Additional Resources section of this guide for a video with the location of all the collectibles in order of appearance.

  • Unlock all safes, lockers, strongboxes, and pickable locks.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

There are 20 “locks” scattered throughout the game, classified between: safes, lockers, strongboxes, and pickable locks that you'll have to open with both Jill and Carlos.

Please check the Additional Resources section of this guide for the location of all the Collectibles in order of appearance.

  • Complete the game on "Standard" or higher.

    Check the Veteran trophy description.

  • Complete the game on "Hardcore" or higher.

Hardcore difficulty is slightly harder than the Standard difficulty. Enemies are more aggressive and take more damage before they fall. Since the positioning of items and enemies is similar to that of Assisted/ Standard difficulties and considering you will be using the infinite Rocket Launcher, this run should not pose any problems to you. Additionally, the game does periodic autosave so you don’t even need to worry about doing manual saves at all!

If you prefer a visual guide, here is a video showing you how to get S rank in Hardcore in 1 hour and 14 minutes while using the Infinite Rocket Launcher.

Resident Evil 3:Hardcore Speedrun Video by angelbless

  • Complete the game with an S rank.

Ranking in this game is related to three factors: 1) The total time spent in beating the game, 2) the number of manual saves, and 3) The difficulty selected. The specific conditions for earning S ranking on each difficulty are summarized below

    1. Assisted: Clear the game under 2:30:00 with 5 manual saves or less.
    2. Standard: Clear the game under 2:00:00 with 5 manual saves or less.
    3. Hardcore: Clear the game under 1:45:000 with 5 manual saves or less.
    4. Nightmare/Inferno: Clear the game under 2:00:000 with 5 manual saves or less.

If you have been following the guide up to this point, chances are you have already obtained this trophy in one of your runs, especially considering that the game performs periodic autosaves in all the difficulties except for Inferno, so there is no real need to save unless for specific Records farming points. If, however, for some reason, you didn't do it up to this point, check out the Jill Valentine trophy description as we will do it there anyway.

  • Complete the game without opening the item box.

While it is possible to do this trophy together with I Might Need These Later! during your first run, it is highly recommended to leave it for a separate playthrough since you will be managing tons of items and weapons during the course of the game. Additionally, do not forget that you will not be able to use any items bought from the in-game shop during this run.

Here is a video showing you how to accomplish this without too much troubles (If you were wondering, there was a bug during the warehouse section that made me reload the last autosave. Apart from that, the run is decent enough for a first try):

Resident Evil 3: Minimalist Trophy Speedrun Video by angelbless

      Some additional tips:

    • Choose Assisted difficulty so you don´t have to worry with healing.
    • Get all the hip pouches! (check the Additional Resources section of this guide for a video with the location of all the collectibles in order of appearance), this will be vital for your run.
    • You don’t need all the weapons, focus on the ones that deal more damage (Grenade Launcher and Shotgun for example).
    • The same with the upgrades. Combining too many upgrades will increase the weapons use of space in the inventory. Choose them wisely!
    • Use all the key items until you can discard them (especially the Bolt Cutters and, if possible, the Lockpick).
    • Don’t be afraid to discard items, especially low damage ammo

  • Complete the game using 1 or fewer recovery items.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

This trophy is easily obtainable in the Assisted difficulty and it is recommended to obtain it during your first run. Since your health is regenerated from Danger to Caution state automatically, you don't need to collect or use any healing item throughout the game.

As mentioned during the roadmap, you might feel "forced" to use a recovery item before entering the Drain Deimos lair, it is for this reason that the trophy specifically points to "one or less". However, this is actually not neccessary as you get rid of the parasite anyway once you get out; in addition, your life regenerates faster than the parasite damages it. (Thanks a lot to optimusmart for pointing this out).

  • Complete the game in under 2 hours of play time.

Check the Jill Valentine trophy description. You can also check any of the speedrun videos under Veteran and Conqueror trophies description.

Since the timeframe is quite broad, this trophy should not pose any difficulty to you, regardless of the difficulty selected.

Secret trophies

  • Escape from Jill's apartment building.

This trophy is story related and therefore it’s unmissable.

You will get this trophy as soon as you reach the streets of Raccoon City.

  • Escape from uptown Raccoon City.

This trophy is story related and therefore it’s unmissable.

You will get this trophy after meeting with Carlos for the first time.

  • Make it out of downtown Raccoon City.

This trophy is story related and therefore it’s unmissable.

You will automatically get it after escaping Downtown Raccoon City.

  • Leave the clock tower plaza.

This trophy is story related and therefore it’s unmissable.

You will get this trophy automatically after beating Nemesis during your second encounter at the Clock Tower Plaza.

A basic strategy for this fight is to use the Grenade Launcher with the Mine Rounds (you'll find extra ammunition at the Plaza) and launch them in advance to the path you see Nemesis is going to take (either on the floor or on the walls). Once the Mine Rounds make an impact, take this moment to deal damage with your strongest weapons. If you don't have Mine Rounds, focus on Nemesis´ weakspots (head and chest) and keep your distance. Dodge in a timely manner and take advantage of any perfect dodge you might get to deal extra damage.

When Nemesis starts to run through the walls, try to attack him with any of the Grenade Launcher ammunitions (Flame, Acid or Grenade) in order to make him fall to the ground and use this opportunity to deal some extra damage. After some hits, Nemesis will fall and you will get this trophy.

  • Complete the game on "Inferno."

Check the Jill Valentine trophy description for additional details on how to get this trophy.

  • Cause Nemesis to relinquish an item.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

After restoring the power at the Power Station (and dealing with the baby Drain Deimos), Nemesis will begin chasing you through Downtown Raccoon City. To stop him momentarily, throw a grenade (particularly effective in lower difficulties) or attack his weak spots (head and heart) so that, as he bends down to regenerate, he will drop a "case" inside which you will find some parts for your weapons. Keep in mind that it's not enough for him to get down on his knees for a moment and get up quickly, you have to do enough damage until you hear a particular sound of regeneration and Nemesis kneels for a longer period of time.

  • Defeat Nemesis on the rooftop.

This trophy is story related and therefore it’s unmissable.

You will get this trophy after defeating Nemesis for the first time at the rooftop of the Construction Site.

For the first part of the fight, focus on the gas tank on his back, trying to keep your distance out of the flamethrower and any physical attacks. Use the electricity generators in a timely manner to stun him momentarily and continue to attack.

Once you destroy the gas tank, Nemesis will start attacking you more directly and ramming you from time to time. Use your surroundings to take cover and attack on his weak spots when you get the chance.

Here is a video showing you how to accomplish this during your first run and without using the Infinite Rocket Launcher:

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis Down? Trophy Video by angelbless

  • Leave R.P.D.

This trophy is story related and therefore it’s unmissable.

You'll get this trophy as soon as you finish the first segment of the game where you can control Carlos.

  • Defeat zombie Brad.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

When you take control of Carlos for the first time, the first zombie you'll have to face will be Jill Valentine's partner from the S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team who was bitten during the first part of the game.

This trophy becomes missable if you enter the police station without killing Zombie Brad and use the detonator at the 2F. If for some reason you entered the station without getting the trophy, you will be able to go back outside and kill Zombie Brad before using the detonator. Additionally, at Nightmare/Inferno difficulties, you will have one extra chance as Brad appears again at the 1F Safety Deposit Room after you get the battery for the detonator.

  • Complete the game with an S rank on "Inferno."

As mentioned during the Road Map, Inferno is the highest difficulty of the game. Enemies are more aggressive than in Nightmare and Nemesis is both much faster and more resilient (plus dodges your shots more easily). In addition, the game no longer makes periodic autosaves. Last but not least, the amount of healing items, typewriters and item boxes found throughout the game is reduced.

To get the S rank, you will have to beat Inferno difficulty in less than two hours while manually saving five times or less, a fact that is not so difficult considering that at this point you will have the infinite Rocket Launcher unlocked (and probably the rest of the suggested items bought from the in-game shop).

While you can save before each boss fight as a precautionary measure, I highly recommend that you manually save in at least these two places:

    1. Before your first fight against Nemesis at the rooftop of the Construction Site (or at Kendo's store). The reason behind saving in this place is not so much because of the actual boss fight, (although it is true that you may avoid having to start the game again if something goes terribly wrong here), but mainly the section after your encounter with Kendo, in which Nemesis will start launching rockets at you. Since Nemesis is much faster on this difficulty, he can use your stun time to get close and attack you furiously, which could quickly end your life (if none of the rockets did it first).
    2. Before the last fight against Nemesis (Stage 3) in the final section of NEST 2 This is perhaps the most complex part of the entire Inferno run since Nemesis recovers much faster, has more weak spots to attack before you can momentarily put it out of combat and, will not allow you to introduce more than one power core every time he is vulnerable. Also, he may hit you more than once in a row if you don't manage to get a perfect (or normal) dodge in a timely manner (the S.T.A.R.S. Field Combat Manual helps a lot here), which will drain your life quickly.

Use the knowledge gained during your Nightmare run (especially with regard to the enemies new positioning) and manage your saves efficiently. Also, if you die, DO NOT hit continue as this will increase your playing time. If you happen to die, manually load any save you may have and continue from there.

Finally, here's a video showing you how to get S Rank in Inferno in 1 hour and 22 minutes while using the Infinite Rocket Launcher:

Resident Evil 3: S-Rank Inferno Difficulty Speedrun Video by angelbless

  • Withstand the zombie siege.

This trophy is story related and therefore it’s unmissable.

You will get this trophy after defending the Hospital entrance with Carlos in the last part of this section of the game.

  • Follow Nicholai deeper underground.

This trophy is story related and therefore it’s unmissable.

You will get this trophy after the warehouse section of the game and before entering NEST 2.

  • Defeat Stage 2 Nemesis.

This trophy is story related and therefore it’s unmissable.

You will get this trophy by defeating Nemesis' second form at NEST 2, after having synthesized the T-Virus vaccine in the laboratory.

For the initial part of the fight, you can use the same strategy you used during your fight at Clock Tower Plaza, using Mine Rounds to stop his progress and unloading all your power while he is stunned.

For the second part (when Nemesis starts running behind the tanks), try to shoot the red panels in advance in order to stun and make him fall to the bottom of the pit so you can deal extra damage. Repeat this, while taking care of the zombies that appear from time to time.

If for some reason you lose sight of Nemesis, Carlos will tell you which tank he is hiding behind; at this point, quickly attack the red panels to make him fall.

Here's a video on how to deal with this battle during your first run and without using infinite ammo weapons:

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis Down!? Trophy Video by angelbless

  • Defeat Stage 3 Nemesis.

This trophy is story related and therefore it’s unmissable.

After the previous battle (and a conveniently placed safe room), you will fight Nemesis again for the last time. As soon as the fight starts, turn 180 degrees, activate the Laser Gun and shoot Nemesis without thinking twice.
After this, you will have to charge the Laser gun once more to be able to take down Nemesis for good. In order to do so, you will need to approach and push three power cores manually for the charging to be restored.
However, Nemesis won't stay watching while you restore the power and will constantly attack you to prevent it. To insert the cores without getting hit by Nemesis, it is necessary to shoot the big blisters? that come out of his body.

Once you destroy each one of them, Nemesis will fall to the ground and you can use this opportunity to insert the power cores, finally loading the Laser Gun and delivering the final blow.

It is important to mention that, in higher difficulties, Nemesis will have more blisters to shoot. At the same time, he will recover faster and attack you more violently, ending your life in one hit (or combo in this case) if you can't dodge it. Either way, you'll get the trophy once you defeat Nemesis for the last time. For the strategy in higher difficulties, check the speedrun videos under each related trophy.

Finally here's a reference video on how to deal with this fight during your first run and without infinite weapons:

  • Destroy all Charlie dolls.

This trophy is missable, you have been warned

There are 20 Charlie Dolls scattered throughout the game and, in order to get this trophy, you must destroy all of them. Please check the Additional Resources section of this guide for the location of all the Collectibles in order of appearance.

As with the files, they are instantly recorded to your Records and you do not need to get them back if something happens.

  • Complete the game on "Nightmare" or higher.

As was mentioned before, Nightmare (as Inferno) is a new difficulty added to the game. In this mode, some key items are repositioned (but not the ones necessary for the story progress); enemies are much more aggressive than in Hardcore difficulty, take more damage, their positioning is different, and the game throws you (literally) more of them at any time. Similarly, Nemesis is even more aggressive than in previous difficulties. However, and as in Hardcore, the game makes periodic autosaves, so you only have to deal with the added difficulty.

Equip your Infinite Rocket Launcher (and any other items you bought from the in-game shop) and blast through this mode. Take this opportunity to learn the enemies and item new locations for your Inferno playthrough.

Finally, here is a video showing you how to beat this mode in 1 hour and 26 minutes:
