Introduction:

Poltergeist: A Pixelated Horror is a puzzle game that places you as a ghost trying to scare inhabitants from your mansion throughout various eras in history. Overall the game isn't too difficult, though there are a few tricky levels, especially if you're not using a walkthrough.

Walkthrough:

switchfreak83 has put together a excellent walkthrough for the game, which you can find here: LINK

Step 1: Play through the game. There are 60 levels in total – 48 regular levels and 12 boss levels. Now would be a good time to go for A Glitchy World if you don't want to use stage select later.

After completing this step you will earn:

Henry's Back!
Not a Fraud!
Who You Gonna Call Now?
Welcome to Limbo
I'm the Real Boss!
Back to Work
Old Times
All That Electropop
A Modern Look
All Work and No Play...

and most likely:
A Glitchy World

Step 2: Speed run for Scaring on Schedule. Once the game is cleared, the time trial icon will show up on the Classic Era level screen. This all needs to be done in one sitting. See Scaring on Schedule for more information.

After completing this step you will earn:

Scaring on Schedule

Step 3: Optional if you didn't earn A Glitchy World during Step 1.

Reload stages 10, 21, 42 and 56 to get the necessary objects.

Story related and cannot be missed. The Office Era consists of levels 46-57 plus three boss levels.

  • Activate the secret glitched objects

In four different stages are tappable objects. When tapped, they will grow in size and start spinning. After tapping them a few times, the whole screen will glitch and you'll see the game autosave in the right corner of the screen. At that point you can restart the level and beat it as usual or exit out entirely if you've already beaten the level.

    The objects and locations are:

    - Classic Era - Level 10 - Mansion Model

    - Eighties Era - Level 21 - Rubix Cube

    - Modern Era - Level 42 - Green Dog Dish(?)

    - Office Era - Level 56 - Studio Mug with Pens

  • Finish the time trial mode in less than 90 minutes.

Once you've completed all 60 levels, a time trial option will unlock on the Classic Era level selection screen; you have 90 minutes to complete the entire game. This is actually not as annoying as it sounds. 90 minutes is actually a fair amount of time, my own speed run time was 54:41 and it was not a flawless run. I highly suggest using switchfreak83's Guide to assist you: LINK

The bad news is that the entire Speedrun needs to be done in one sitting. You cannot exit out to the main menu and pick up where you left off (unlike time trial runs in games like Dokuro).

The game's timer doesn't stop at the end of each stage while you're waiting on the animations of people running out of the room. Also, if you mess up the level, the timer will not reset to the time you had when you first attempted the level.
