Introduction


Welcome to Persona 5 Royal, an updated version of one the best Japanese RPGs ever made, Persona 5. The game involves balancing a finite period of time between hunting dungeons for demons and maintaining your social life as a regular high school student. Many characters can be interacted with in "Confidant" social events that will strengthen you in the dungeons and expand your ability to create "Personas", which are demons that assist you in fights. The game is structured into "days" over the course of three school semesters, so managing your free time is critical to getting the most out of the game.

For new players, the game features a trophy list that is easily finished in the first 100+ hour playthrough, with very little rework required and no big emphasis on completionism. Almost all of the trophies are "one-offs", requiring you to finish a task just once and almost never having to do 100% of something to get a trophy. One thing you'll need to focus on from the start is increasing your five social stats for Pure Perfection, but in case you don't get this on your first playthrough, the progress is carried over into New Game Plus.

For players returning from Persona 5, you will be pleased to hear the trophy list is heavily streamlined and focuses on Royal's new features, cutting out trophies that require excessive amounts of scheduling and organization. While you still need to max out all of your social stats for Pure Perfection again, you won't need to read every book, watch DVDs or max every confidant. The previous game's trophy "Passionate Listener", much to the relief of most Persona 5 platinum earners, has also been removed.

For this roadmap, I've structured the game into several story-related segments. The game doles out features over time, so it'll be really easy to identify exactly when you're first able to earn a trophy. This guide will refer extensively to the dates system used within the game, so whenever you see something like 11/17, that will indicate a time limit or a first day when you can do something.

Walkthrough


Step 1a: Pre-endgame – Castle Palace

The first six hours or so of the game are an extended tutorial introducing you to the base mechanics while also running you through the first of the game's dungeons, called "Palaces". You will be acquainted with the RPG mechanics within the Palaces as well as the social "Confidant" mechanics in the real world.

From the outset and throughout, you should focus on building your social stats: Knowledge, Guts, Charm, Kindness and Proficiency. You won't have an abundance of Confidants this early into the game, so you can focus your time on building your social stats for Pure Perfection. Head to the batting cages for some quick early Proficiency levels or study a whole lot at school for Knowledge. You'll be able to start confidants with Ryuji, your troubled classmate, and Tae, the shady doctor who runs a clinic near your house.

Step 1b: Pre-endgame – Museum Palace

Continue to build your social stats and Confidant ranks. Eventually, you will be introduced to the next palace as well as an area called Mementos, Persona 5 Royal’s procedurally generated dungeon. I recommend clearing an area of Mementos after every palace as this will help you build your party and save time later.

You'll also be introduced to one of Royal's two new characters, Takuto Maruki. During this period, I recommend getting a start on Maruki's Confidant line, the Councillor. Getting his Confidant up to rank 9 is critical for the true ending. If you don't get onto the path for the true ending, you will miss out on at least two trophies.

By the end of this step, you will have earned:

Step 1c: Bank Palace, Pyramid Palace, Spaceport Palace

The next three palaces settle into more of a rhythm as the gameplay loop of the game takes the driver’s seat rather than an abundance of introductory stuff.

As such, you’ll earn relatively few trophies here, instead progressing toward the late-game trophies. What trophies you do earn are associated with the palaces and new mechanics the game doles out at this point.

Two new locations are introduced during this time, Kichijoji and Akihabara. Be sure to visit those places for a plethora of trophies earned by spending free time in different ways there.

By the end of this step, you will have earned:

Step 1D: Casino Palace

This is the last palace before the game branches off into the different ending paths. This will also be the last opportunity for you to get Maruki's Confidant to rank 9, as further progress will be locked out after 11/17. As mentioned earlier, this will also stop you from obtaining the new true ending and therefore at least two trophies, so make sure it's done.

You'll also be getting some trophies you've been working towards up until now to do with social stats. As gun customization requires Guts rank 4, you'll be around the point where you can do this now.

Once the palace is finished, refer to The Path Chosen for what to do next as the next dialogue choices are very sensitive to getting the true end.

By the end of this step, you will have earned:

 My Closest Partner (Began a romantic relationship with a Confidant – very likely you'll have gotten this by now)

Step 2: Point of no return: Cruiser Palace and Mementos Depths

After finishing the Casino palace on 11/18, the game's plot begins to zero in and you'll have generally less time to do things. You'll unlock a host of story-related trophies from here on out. This will also be about the point where you unlock Pure Perfection if you've been focusing on all of your social stats.

If you're on the path to the true ending, you will be asked to enter Mementos on 12/24 to finish another dungeon that functions a lot like a palace. This dungeon is at the very bottom of Mementos, so if you haven't been clearing areas of Mementos during your free time, then you'll have to do all 60+ floors in one go.

Get to the bottom of Mementos, finish the dungeon, and defeat the original final boss. If you haven't fulfilled Royal's true ending requirements, the gameplay will end here and you'll get Persona 5's original true ending, missing the trophies in Step 3 below.

By the end of this step, you will have earned:

Step 3: Third Semester

If you've fulfilled the conditions to reach the true ending, the game will continue after the above dungeon and into some events over Christmas. After some story scenes, the scenario for the third semester will be set up. You have one more palace to finish for Take Back the FutureAwakening the Phantom Thieves will also unlock during a scene on 1/10. Now is also the best time to get Unsurpassed Rebel as you'll have refined your skills and Persona repertoire enough to face the Reaper. Finally, once you see the ending, The Path Chosen will unlock along with your platinum trophy.

    This is the first trophy you'll earn in the game. 
     

    After discovering the Castle Palace on 4/11 and exploring some of it with Ryuji, the two will be locked in a prison cell in the Castle's dungeons. Shortly after attempting to figure out an escape method, the palace’s owner will show up. The protagonist will awaken to his first Persona, the gentleman thief Arsene in a cutscene. The trophy will immediately unlock after the cutscene.

    Following the first palace's deadline and seeing some story scenes, the Phantom Thieves will congregate in a swanky hotel on 5/5. They’ll gorge on some fancy food and discuss formally grouping together going forward, giving you the opportunity to enter a name as leader of the Phantom Thieves.

    Simply enter a name in the text entry field given during this story scene and the trophy will unlock immediately after.

    Requests, or 'Missions' in the Japanese version, are largely optional quests given throughout the game, which involve entering Mementos and finding a boss on one of the procedurally-generated floors. You will get these throughout the game, with most being automatically added to your requests list. Some are missable if you don't read a certain text message by Mishima, while others are tied to confidant ranks.

    For some requests, you'll need to do some research, for example asking NPCs questions or eavesdropping on conversations to obtain information first. Generally this research doesn't spend in-game time.

    The bosses generally aren't difficult and are closer to the mini-bosses in the Palaces, using an existing Persona as a template for the boss' moves and affinities. The requests are sorted into ranks, which corresponds to the boss' difficulty.

    You will get this trophy on 5/7 with the request "Beware the Clingy Ex-boyfriend!". Unlike Persona 5, you do not need to do all Requests for the trophy. You only have to complete one request, and this request is mandatory for story progression. The trophy will unlock immediately after.

    In order to earn this trophy, you'll need to place first place in the school's exams. There are four exams given throughout the school year in Persona 5 Royal, done in May, July, October, and December. During class on these days, you will need to complete the exams, and you don't get any free time over these days.

    Getting the top score in exams is based on two factors. The first is responding correctly to each exam question. Getting one wrong will stop you from getting the top score. The second factor is your Knowledge social stat. In order to get the maximum score, your Knowledge needs to be the maximum of rank 5: Erudite.

    Because of the Knowledge requirements, it is very likely you'll get this trophy in the December exam, possibly October if you've been focusing on Knowledge specifically. For opportunities to increase the knowledge stat, see Pure Perfection.

    The trophy will unlock when you get the results of the exam. Usually this is several days, up to over a week after the exam actually takes place. The protagonist will walk in front of the exam results board during a cutscene. Morgana will remark on the protagonist's skills and the trophy will unlock here.

    This trophy involves maximizing all of your social parameters in the game: Knowledge, Guts, Charm, Kindness and Proficiency. This is one of the few trophies you'll have to consistently work towards from the outset and throughout your whole playthrough, as building your stats takes up most of your time that isn't building your Confidants or exploring dungeons.

    In short, there are many ways of increasing each stat. Reading books, playing games, and watching DVDs all contribute to different stats depending on the individual item used. Some activities focus on a single stat, such as batting cages for Proficiency or sweeping up Leblanc for Kindness. Notably, video games and DVDs give you points each time you spend time with them, whereas books only give points when you finish the last page of the book (usually this takes multiple free time sessions).

    You can obtain a book called Speed Reading, which allows you to read two pages of a book in a free time session time rather than just one. You can get it from Jinbocho after reading all other books from there, or from Shujin library after 7/1 on the true ending path.

    There is also another book called Factorization Study Method, which adds an additional point whenever you read a book that increases Knowledge. You can obtain it from Sakai in Kichijoji (man with sunglasses and face mask) by trading an MRE Ration to him. This item is available from 7/26 to 7/30 only.

    Each stat takes less time or more time to level up based on the availability of opportunities to increase those stats. For example, Knowledge requires the highest amount of points to maximize, because getting class answers correct will always give a point and studying is one of the most efficient stat raising methods of spending time there is. Inversely, Proficiency requires the fewest points as there are relatively few opportunities to raise this stat, largely limited to batting cages or crafting infiltration tools.

    Fortune Confidant Rank 1 unlocks Luck Reading, which is useful for boosting stats. Before partaking in an activity that would raise a social stat, locate Chihaya Mifune in Shinjuku during either day or night and ask for a luck reading for the stat that activity will raise. With a luck reading you will get an additional point of a raised stat alongside the normal amount of points for that stat. For example, spending a long time and hitting many balls at the batting cages will yield four proficiency points rather than just three.

    The trophy will unlock as soon as you achieve rank 5 for every social stat. Your last will likely be Kindness due to the availability of activities that raise Kindness. It is likely you will earn the trophy around December of your first playthrough. Also, if you miss this trophy during your first playthrough, then you will be able to carry over progress to new game plus, so this trophy is not outright missable in the traditional sense.

    Below is a list detailing the required points to rank up each stat to the maximum, five ranks for each total.

    For this trophy you will need to spend time with a Confidant at a hangout location. There are several locations that are discovered by ranking up certain Confidants or by reading books about those locations. These locations normally have no other gameplay to them and, in the majority of cases, you can’t just visit them on your own.

    When you have discovered a location, you can walk up to any Confidant and ask them to hang out. Normally you can hang out and rank up that confidant if you have a sufficient amount of points. However, when you don't have a sufficient amount of points to rank up the confidant, you can also take them to one of these hangout locations instead. You won't be able to rank up a Confidant if you do take them to a location, but it will give you three relationship points which can greatly contribute to ranking them up next time.

    You only have to hang out with a confidant exactly once to unlock this trophy. It can be with any Confidant at any hangout location. Also, as a number of Confidant rank up events unlock these locations automatically, you can unlock this trophy just by reaching that rank of the Confidant. The trophy will unlock after the hangout event.

    Also notably, if you read the book associated with the location while the location is already unlocked by other means, you won't spend time but the book will count as being read.

    The list of hangout locations is as follows:

    • Asakusa Nakamise Street and Sky Tower: Unlocked in Star Rank 6, Lovers Rank 7, or by reading Shita-machi Reborn (item drop from Mementos request Who's Muscling in Yogen-Jaya?).

    This trophy entails forming a romantic relationship with a female confidant. Almost all of the female confidants can be dated in the game, with ten total. Usually this involves a choice during the Rank 9 scene of their Confidant lines, however some of the others have prerequisites in earlier rank up conversations that may lock you out of romancing that particular character if you don't pick that option.

    Lovers Arcana: Ann Takamaki.
    Hermit Arcana: Futaba Sakura.
    Fortune Arcana: Chihaya Mifune (has prerequisites).

    Devil Arcana: Ichiko Ohya (has prerequisites).
    Star Arcana: Hifumi Togo.
    Faith Arcana: Kasumi Yoshizawa (has prerequisites).

    For the women that have prerequisites, you have to pick certain things at certain ranks to keep their romance options open:

    Chihaya Mifune:

    • During rank 6 scene, for the fourth choice pick 3: "You’re just Chihaya to me."
    • During rank 8 scene, for the third choice pick 2: "Hell yeah, I am."

    Tae Takemi:

    • During rank 7 scene, for the fourth choice pick 2 or 3: "We all do sometimes" or "I’m glad you did."
    • During rank 8 scene, for the third choice pick 1: "It’s for Miwa-chan."

    Ichiko Ohya:

    • During rank 7 scene, for the third choice pick 2: "You’re charming as you are."

    Kasumi Yoshizawa:

    • Reach rank 5 before 12/24.


    The trophy will unlock as soon as the scene concludes where you begin a relationship with a Confidant. Invariably this will be after the rank 9 scene.

    Story-related, but can be missed if you are not on the path to the true endings.

    Confidants are the main social aspect of the game. When you are not spending time in dungeons, almost everything you do in the real world will have the eventual goal of advancing a Confidant. Each Confidant is sorted into Suits of a Tarot deck or Arcana, and this becomes relevant in the dungeons as higher Confidant ranks allow you to create more powerful Personas and gain buffed abilities.

    For this trophy you will need to rank up one Confidant to the max rank, which is rank 10. You only need to do this to one of the Confidant lines; there is no requirement in this trophy list to advance all of them to the maximum rank.

    Confidants have ten ranks and there are a number of ways they are advanced, primarily by spending time in a social setting with the person that corresponds to each Arcana. You will accrue points in doing this, and having enough points is a requirement to rank up the Confidant. You will get additional points from picking the dialogue options that the character resonates with the most, usually by agreeing with them or showing the person that you're listening and contributing.

    Some Confidants are advanced by the story with no further input from the player. One Confidant, being Caroline & Justine of the Strength Arcana, is ranked up by fulfilling fusion tasks they set out for you. Essentially this means creating Personas with specific abilities.

    As the Fool, Magician and Judgment Arcana Confidant lines are ranked up entirely automatically so, as long as you are on the path to the true ending, you will not miss this trophy. Aside from this, it is difficult to miss this trophy if you're not actively avoiding Confidants. As there are hundreds of free time sessions in the year and it takes a minimum of only ten to full rank up a Confidant, you will likely finish several of these in one playthrough.

    When spending time with characters, be sure to have a Persona in your stock of the Arcana that matches the character. Doing so will increase all social points earned during the Confidant scenes by one. This includes the initial three points for just hanging out with the Confidant, plus any points earned from picking the dialogue choices they like most. For example, having a Slime, of the Chariot Arcana in your stock will increase points when hanging out with Ryuji Sakamoto.

    For players returning from Persona 5, the Justice Confidant has been modified. It is no longer fully automatic and instead, the first eight ranks are given the same treatment as any other social Confidant, with the protagonist hanging out with Goro Akechi during the evenings. The final two ranks are still tied to the story, being ranked up during events you may be familiar with involving the Cruiser Palace.

    Also for returning players, keep in mind that some of the Personas have been shuffled around in regards to what Arcana they correspond to. For example, Nigi Mitama is now of the Councillor Arcana, rather than the Temperance Arcana.

    • Fool Arcana: Igor, ranked up with plot progression.
    • Magician Arcana: Morgana, ranked up with plot progression.
    • Priestess Arcana: Makoto Niijima, ranked up by spending time with this character.
    • Empress Arcana: Hara Okumura, ranked up by spending time with this character.
    • Emperor Arcana: Yusuke Kitagawa, ranked up by spending time with this character.
    • Hierophant Arcana: Sojiro Sakura, ranked up by spending time with this character.
    • Lovers Arcana: Ann Takamaki, ranked up by spending time with this character.
    • Chariot Arcana: Ryuji Sakamoto, ranked up by spending time with this character.

    Story-related, but can be missed if you are not on the path to the new Royal true ending.

    Unlike the protagonist, each party member you gain throughout your journey has a fixed Persona which can’t be changed, except when you sufficiently increase their Confidant to the maximum rank. After increasing Confidant to rank 10, each party member will transform personas once into their Ultimate Persona, however this is not what unlocks the trophy.

    In the third semester, each party member at rank 10 confidant will undergo another transformation. The first of these is an unavoidable sequence on 1/10 with Morgana, whose Confidant ranks up to 10 automatically over the course of the game. So, as long as you're on the path to the Royal true ending, you will not miss this trophy.

    For the other original Phantom Thieves, you can awaken their third-tier Personas by hanging out with them from 1/13 onward in the same locations they normally are for their Confidants.

    For Yoshizawa, you will need to maximize her Confidant in the third semester, then accept her invite to hang out on 2/2, the day before the final palace's completion.

    Finally, Goro Akechi has the most complicated path to his ultimate Persona out of the party members and requires much earlier attention to attain.

    During Justice Rank 7, for the sixth choice, pick 3: "You are my rival". Picking 2 will lock you out from getting Akechi's third Persona.

    During Justice Rank 8, you will need to win against him in the battle during this rank-up event. Then, for the eighth choice, pick 1: "I'll take it." Picking 2 will lock you out from getting Akechi's third Persona.

    Then, on the night of finishing Akechi’s event in the Cruiser Palace, the protagonist will ponder in bed about Akechi. You’ll be given a choice. The first choice locks you out of Akechi’s third persona. The second choice, "Fulfill Akechi’s Promise", is therefore a prerequisite for his third persona.

    Then, on the path to the true ending, Akechi will meet with the protagonist on the evening of 2/2. You can choose anything for the first two dialogue choices, but be sure to select the first option of the third dialogue choice. This will then cause Akechi's persona to transform.

    In short, the requirements for each third persona is as follows:

    • Morgana: Confidant Rank 10 (automatic), then watch the mandatory story scene on 1/10.
    • Ryuji Sakamoto: Confidant Rank 10, then hang out with him in the afternoons from 1/13 onwards.
    • Ann Takamaki: Confidant Rank 10, then hang out with her in the afternoons from 1/13 onwards.
    • Yusuke Kitagawa: Confidant Rank 10, then hang out with him in the afternoons from 1/13 onwards.
    • Makoto Niijima: Confidant Rank 10, then hang out with her in the afternoons from 1/13 onwards.
    • Futaba Sakura: Confidant Rank 10, then hang out with her in the afternoons from 1/13 onwards.
    • Haru Okumura: Confidant Rank 10, then hang out with her in the afternoons from 1/13 onwards.
    • Yoshizawa: Confidant Rank MAX, then on the afternoon of 2/2, accept her invite that she will send you via SMS.
    • Goro Akechi: Justice Rank 7, for the sixth choice, pick 3: "You are my rival". > Justice Rank 8, you will need to win against him in the battle during this rank-up event. Then, for the eighth choice, pick 1: "I'll take it." > Confidant Rank 10 > Reach Akechi’s event in Cruiser Palace > When in bed, about to sleep on the night this happens, pick 2: "Fulfill Akechi’s Promise" > Evening of 2/2, for the third choice, pick 1: "Defeat [spoiler]".

    The trophy will unlock on 1/10 with the scene with Morgana. The remaining third personas are optional.

    One of the main methods you'll obtain Personas with is negotiation. Simply, most of the enemies in the game are Shadows, which become Personas if you're able to convince them to join your side. During negotiation, you will need to pick the correct responses in order to appeal to the Shadow's personality and turn it into your new Persona.

    First, you'll need to down the Shadow by hitting it with its weakness or via a critical hit or technical. Once all Personas are down, you will enter a "Hold Up". The first option in the hold up list of choices enters negotiation.

    As Shadows have different personalities, you'll need to tailor your responses to something they like. In order to succeed with the negotiation, you’ll need to get at least the second response correct. The first response is just meant to feel for what the Shadow likes to hear and doesn't affect the result of the negotiation.

    Below is a table with the appropriate responses for each personality a Shadow can have.

    • Upbeat Shadows: Like Funny answers, indifferent to Kind answers, hate Serious or Vague answers.
    • Timid Shadows: Like Kind answers, indifferent to Serious answers, hate Vague or Funny answers.
    • Irritable Shadows: Like Serious answers, indifferent to Funny answers, hate Vague or Kind answers.
    • Gloomy Shadows: Like Vague answers, indifferent to Kind answers, hate Serious or Funny answers.

    You'll first be able to get this trophy during the Castle Palace, after negotiation is introduced within a tutorial. tutorial itself doesn't count for the trophy as you're not able to fail it and Morgana will jump in to course-correct if you pick a wrong option. The actual first opportunity is right after the negotiation tutorial, where you’ll be attacked by two Bicorns. Their personality is Gloomy, so hit them with their weakness, which is Elec, and pick responses that sound vague.

    Also, you will later be introduced to a mechanic where a shadow will beg for its life when it's low on health. You can negotiate to have the shadow join you, however this will skip the actual questions and let the shadow join you immediately. Additionally, Treasure Demons (see The Deviated Cognition) also do not require questions to be answered for them to be recruited. Both of these scenarios count for this trophy.

    Bosses, mini-bosses, The Reaper, enemies that aren't shadows, and shadows of a higher level than you cannot be negotiated with. They’ll just get mad and you’ll have to pick another option like an all-out attack instead.

    The trophy will unlock as soon as you perform your first successful negotiation.

    A Baton Pass is a condition that can occur in battle after an enemy is downed by hitting their weakness or a critical hit. After downing an enemy, you can press  to pass the turn to a teammate. This is useful if your party members have coverage for weakness types that the active party member doesn’t have.

    From the outset the protagonist has this unlocked and can be used as soon as the tutorial occurs within the Castle Palace. The tutorial itself doesn't count as the conditions for the Baton Pass are set up already, but from then onwards any other Baton Pass counts for the trophy.

    When the protagonist hits an enemy's weakness, you can Baton Pass to another party member. Note that you can't do this with an enemy that is already down as the party member with the Baton Pass skill has to be the one to down the enemy.

    For the other party members, you must reach rank 1 of their respective Confidants in order to unlock their Baton Pass ability. This does not affect whether they can be passed to; the protagonist can still pass to a teammate that doesn't have the Baton Pass skill, but teammates that don't have the skill can't do it themselves.

    The trophy will unlock as soon as you've Baton Passed for the first time outside of the tutorial.

  • 凶魔の爆発で敵を倒した

    Disaster Shadows are new enemy types that are optional; they show up randomly when battling normal enemies. They have a glowing purple aura and have boosted stats. Notably, these are separate from the Strong Shadows, which are veiled in red instead. While Strong Shadows appear on the overworld, encounters with Disaster Shadows will not be distinguishable from normal shadows until you enter battle with one.

    Defeating these will cause an explosion which damages the other enemies in the battle. This trophy involves destroying a Disaster Shadow, and having its explosion from dying deal enough damage to another enemy in battle to destroy it too.

    They are first introduced in a tutorial section in Kamoshida’s Palace, however as this encounter is scripted, it will not unlock the trophy. If Disaster Shadows are defeated by either despair during the flu season or when their attacks are repelled by a Persona that reflects the element of a move it uses, then they will die normally and not cause an explosion.

    The trophy will unlock during battle, as soon as a Shadow is killed by a Disaster Shadow's explosion. A video showing this being performed is below:

    Story-related and cannot be missed. 

    The grappling hook is a new mechanic in Persona 5 Royal. It allows you to grapple up to new heights or ledges that were previously inaccessible. Royal's palaces have many added areas that are accessed by the grappling hook. This trophy involved using the grappling hook for the first time. This trophy is unmissable as several palaces require its use in order to traverse certain areas.

    Certain areas can glow with a white glint, indicating they can be grappled up to by pressing the  button. Also, the protagonist's left wrist will glow blue when a grapple point is present within reach. The glowing will occur even if you're not actually looking at it, meaning you can pivot around to find the grappling hook when the blue glow occurs.

    The first area in which this occurs is the opening sequence of the game, where you are required to use the grappling hook in the preview of the Casino Palace. However, this does not unlock this trophy as it is a scripted sequence.

    The actual opportunity to unlock the trophy comes after a tutorial in the Castle Palace, where you will be briefed with a short cutscene regarding its use. You are required to use the grappling hook to progress any further, as the nearby spiral staircase that was accessible in the original Persona 5 is collapsed and unusable in Royal. The trophy will unlock immediately after this sequence.

    Technicals are a new battle mechanic in Royal. Simply, the mechanic allows bonus damage and criticals from matching ailments to other elemental moves. It's more broad than just regular elemental damage in that you can effectively give a temporary weakness to an element to shadows that would normally be damaged normally, or resist that type of damage.

    Ailments are status effects inflicted by many moves, for example Fire spells are able to rarely inflict the Burn ailment.

    This trophy involves following up an ailment inflicted onto an enemy by using a skill that would generate a technical damage on it. For example, using an Electric skill on an enemy may cause it to get the Shock status condition. Using a physical move after this will generate an increased amount of damage, as physical is matched as a technical to Shock status.

    Probably the earliest and easiest way to do this is with your starting party members, Ann and Morgana. Use Ann's fire skills on an enemy to give it the Burn status condition, then follow up with Morgana's Wind skills to generate the technical damage. Below is a full list of Technicals and a video demonstrating it in action.

    The trophy will unlock as soon as you generate Technical damage for the first time.

    • Brainwash, inflicted by Brain Buster, Brain Jack, Brain Shake and Marin Karin. Follow up with Physical.
    • Burn, inflicted by Fire skills. Follow up with Wind or Nuclear
    • Confuse, inflicted by Mind Slice, Pulinpa, Skull Cracker and Tentarafoo. Follow up with Physical.
    • Despair, inflicted by Abysmal Surge, Bad Beat, Dreadful Scream, Negative Pile and Ominous Words. Also, the flu days on 13/11, 14/11, 15/11, 12/8 and 12/9 automatically afflict enemies with this. Follow up with Physical.
    • Dizzy, inflicted by Dazzler, Flash Bomb, Nocturnal Flash and Sledgehammer. Follow up with any attack.
    • Fear, inflicted by Bloodbath, Evil Smile, Evil Touch, Terror Claw, Titanomachia, Tyrant's Fist. Follow up with Physical.
    • Freeze, inflicted by Ice skills. Follow up with Physical or Nuclear
    • Shock, inflicted by Electric skills. Follow up with Physical or Nuclear. Note Melee attacks will paralyze that party member due to static shock, so refrain from this and use the Persona's physical skills instead.
    • Sleep, inflicted by Dormina, Dormin Rush, Dream Needle and Lullaby. Follow up with any attack.
    • Rage, inflicted by Arm of Destruction, Hysterical Slap, Oni-Kagura, Reverse Rub, Taunt and Wage War. Follow up with Physical.

    Palace Boss Skill Accessories are new items in Persona 5 Royal. When equipped they apply an effect that replicates a buff that a Palace Boss gets during their boss battle. This trophy involves obtaining one.

    Firstly, these accessories require new skull-shaped collectibles to be gathered called Will Seeds. Each palace except for Mementos Depths has three of them, cloistered away in hard-to-find areas. Many of these require the grappling hook to get to. Three are required from the same Palace in order to get the accessory. When you collect all three, you'll receive the accessory, however it won't be usable as it hasn't been refined yet. The trophy won't unlock until you refine it.

    Jose in Mementos is responsible for refining these accessories into usable items. Jose is first encountered on the tutorial Mementos visit on 5/7. From then on, when Jose is present on a floor in Mementos, you can speak to him to turn in the inactive accessory so he can refine it into a usable item. They are as follows:

    • Castle Palace: Ring of Lust
    • Museum Palace: Ring of Vanity
    • Bank Palace: Ring of Gluttony
    • Pyramid Palace: Ring of Wrath
    • Spaceport Palace: Ring of Greed
    • Casino Palace: Ring of Envy
    • Cruiser Palace: Ring of Pride
    • Laboratory Palace: Ring of Grief

    If you miss one or more of the Will Seeds in a palace, spare Will Seeds can be purchased from Jose for 400 flowers. You may struggle to collect that many in a single Mementos session, so finding them in palaces is definitely worth it.

    This trophy is currently glitched. If you add a Treasure Demon to your Persona stock while the stock is full, it won't unlock the trophy even if you get rid of another Persona to add the Treasure Demon. When going for this trophy, be sure to have a free slot in your stock before the battle.

    Treasure Demons are a kind of Persona that aren't usable in battle, but can still be recruited. When they are defeated, they give a much larger amount of EXP compared to regular Shadows, and they give massive bonuses when they are recruited and used in fusions.

    This trophy entails recruiting one for the first time. In order to recruit it, you'll need to down the Treasure Demon by hitting its weakness, landing a critical hit or using a Technical to cause the Hold Up menu to appear. From this menu you can negotiate with the Treasure Demon to have it join your party.

    Treasure Demons are unique in that they will always join your stock when you attempt to negotiate with them. You don't even have to ask them any questions and instead, that process will be skipped entirely and the Treasure Demon will be added to your stock of Personas.

    The first opportunity is in the Museum palace, where, about a quarter of the way through, Morgana will become enamored with a golden pot that inadvertently turns on some lasers. After turning the lasers off, you can interact with the golden pot to produce the first Treasure Demon.

    Each Treasure Demon has different strengths and weaknesses when battling against it, so the key is hitting those weaknesses or going for a critical hit and then recruiting them with negotiation. Alternatively, Morgana has skills such as Lucky Punch, attacks that have a drastically increased chance of landing a critical hit.

    Also, Shinya Oda's Confidant, Tower Rank 1, unlocks an ability called Down Shot. Using this ability will spend all of your gun's ammo in exchange for a guaranteed critical hit. Shinya Oda's Confidant is tied to a Mementos Request, "Winners Don't Use Cheats", which you'll get on 9/4. This means 9/5 is the earliest you'll be able to get the Down Shot as the request requires a trip to Mementos first.

    Treasure Demons can be found in both Palaces and Mementos on certain floors. They tend to appear more frequently during Mementos deviations, the darkened floors of Mementos that show up randomly. Some Mementos deviations feature nothing but Treasure Demons, with no other kinds of Shadows appearing on the floor, so they are optimal times to try and get this trophy. (See The Deviated Cognition for more information.)

    Showtimes are a new type of attack in Royal that largely consists of a scripted cutscene and a massive amount of damage. They are random but occur pretty often, up to dozens of times in one playthrough. Showtimes involve two Phantom Thieves members teaming up to take down one enemy. When a Showtime occurs, a red stripe will appear on the screen along with a closeup of one of the pair's faces. Showtimes always occur when it's the turn of one of the party members who is involved in a particular pair of Showtime.

    This trophy involves triggering a Showtime move just once. They are first introduced in the Bank Palace, the third Palace from 6/21 onwards. At the start of the main infiltration, the party will round a mandatory corner just before the main Bank lobby and be given the tutorial for Showtime moves.

    This tutorial includes a Showtime between Morgana and Ann to introduce the moves, however this one doesn't count for the trophy. The trophy will unlock the next time you use a Showtime move. If by some disaster you don't get a single one over the course of the game, there is a scripted Showtime in the Laboratory Palace that will unlock the trophy, on the path to the Royal true ending.

    Showtimes occur randomly, though the chances of them occurring significantly increase under certain conditions, such as:

    • A Baton Pass is performed to a party member that has a Showtime unlocked.
    • A party member has their health reduced to half or lower.
    • The enemy Shadows are significantly damaged.

    The combination of team members do not have to be in the party at the same time, just one being part of the four currently in battle is enough to meet the Showtime conditions. For example, if only Ann is in the party with the protagonist, then Morgana and Ann's Showtime can trigger. One of the required team members can also be down or have a status ailment and the Showtime can still trigger. If a party member involved in a pair is knocked out, however, a Showtime for pairs involving that character cannot trigger.

    Initially, only Morgana and Ann will be able to perform a Showtime move, but more combinations are added as the story progresses. The combinations are as follows. 

    • Morgana & Ann – First unlocked with the tutorial for Showtime moves, Bank Palace.
    • Ryuji & Makoto – Unlocked when able to send the Bank Palace's owner's calling card.
    • Ryuji & Yusuke – Unlocked at the start of Pyramid Palace.
    • Yusuke & Ann – Unlocked at the start of Spaceport Palace.
    • Morgana & Haru – Unlocked when able to send the Spaceport Palace's owner's calling card.
    • Makoto & Haru – Unlocked at the start of Casino Palace.
    • Protagonist & Akechi – Unlocked 1/9 in the third semester, on the path to the Royal true ending.
    • Protagonist & Yoshizawa – Unlocked when meeting up at the hideout after Yoshizawa's confidant is maxed, from 1/20 onward.

    In Mementos, there is a new character named Jose who you can purchase items from. This trophy entails engaging in your first transaction with him.

    Jose doesn't accept Yen as currency. Instead there is a new currency in Royal called flowers, which are scattered on the floor of Mementos. They're found on every regular floor and show up once you are first introduced to Jose in your visits to Mementos. Jose will also clearly introduce them and what they look like, and they're pretty visible as they're bright yellow spheres against Mementos' otherwise dark background.

    After gathering some of these flowers, you must enter an area of Mementos in which Jose is running his shop. This is clearly indicated by a cutscene that will play after entering a floor, with Jose racing down the Mementos tracks in his buggy. Once you've entered a floor with Jose on it, locate him. Even If the map is not uncovered for his location, it will still show his whereabouts with a bright yellow icon.

    Simply drive up to him in the Morgana car and interact with him to access his shop. His items vary wildly in price, being as low as 15 flowers to as high as 400. As soon as you purchase something from him for the first time, the trophy will unlock.

    Of note is that flowers are discarded when leaving Mementos. For story reasons, they don't exist in the real would outside of Mementos, so you'll reset to zero flowers for every Mementos trip. Flowers are not found on safe floors or end floors. Only the randomly generated regular areas of Mementos can have them.

    Stamps are a new collectible item in Mementos in Persona 5 Royal. They appear as items collectable from Stamp Machines, stationed throughout Mementos. At least one is available on every floor and every path of Mementos except for the very first starting area and the Path of Iweleth. They glow with a bright yellow light and appear on maps as an equally bright yellow icon, so they're difficult to miss against the dark background of Mementos.

    Their locations are a mix of fixed and random. A stamp machine is present just before the exit for every floor, as well as in safe areas and end areas. Stamp machines also somewhat rarely appear hidden behind walls or doors.

    Once collected, these stamps can be traded to Jose in exchange for "cognition changes", which give buffs to Mementos permanently, in the categories of increased EXP, money and items. When you have a sufficient amount of stamps, you must enter an area of Mementos in which Jose is running his shop. This is clearly indicated by a cutscene that will play after entering a floor, showing Jose racing down the Mementos tracks in his buggy. Once you've entered a floor with Jose on it, locate him. Even If the map is not uncovered for his location, it will still show his whereabouts with a bright yellow icon.

    Unlocking The Phantom Philatelist involves trading stamps to Jose for the first time. 

    Unlocking this trophy, however, involves maximizing one category of cognitive change by spending the amount of stamps required to fully unlock all of the changes. Contrary to the trophy's description, you do not have to maximize all three categories as just one will unlock the trophy.

    Each Path of Mementos has a different number of stamps to collect. Once the assigned number of stamps has been reached for a Path of Mementos, no more can be collected for that Path. Pressing the map button will allow you to view the total number of findable stamp stations for that Path of Mementos and how many you've collected so far. Otherwise, the locations are procedurally generated, so there is no guide for locations for this one.

    Below is a list of each Path and the number of stamps that can be obtained in them.

    • Path of Qimranut: 2 Stamps
    • Path of Aiyatsbus: 8 Stamps
    • Path of Chemdah: 10 Stamps
    • Path of Kaitul: 20 Stamps
    • Path of Akzeriyyuth: 25 Stamps
    • Path of Adyeshach: 30 Stamps
    • Path of Sheriruth: 30 Stamps
    • Path of Iweleth: 0 Stamps
    • Path of Da'at: 40 Stamps

    After collecting at least one stamp, locate Jose in a mementos level. You'll know he's present on a floor when you arrive and the cutscene of Jose in his car plays. Select "Change Mementos" and pick any in this list. If you are only concerned with this trophy and no other changes, then the third option, which increases item drops, is recommended as it is the cheapest at 30 stamps total. The earliest you can get this trophy is the Path of Kaitul, which means it'll be after the end of the Pyramid Palace before this trophy is attainable.

    The cost in stamps for each upgrade to the cognitive changes are as follows:

    • EXP Up: 5, 5, 7, 7, 9, 9, 10, 10, 11, 11
    • Money Up: 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7, 7
    • Item Drops Up: 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5

    Mementos deviations are new random occurrences within Mementos. It is entirely random when they occur, but they do occur somewhat frequently, around five to ten times per playthrough. This trophy requires you to enter one for the first time.

    When entering an area of Mementos, there is a small chance that the entire area may be blacked out and the mini-map will not fill in with the areas you've visited, instead showing nothing except for your icon. When encountering it for the first time, Morgana will inform you that both negative and positive effects are heightened. For example, Treasure Demons appear more frequently, but so do Strong Shadows.

    Leaving the deviation area will cause it to disappear. If you do not want an area to be a deviation, then you can go back up to the floor you came from and then come back down again to reset the floor generation and make the deviation disappear.

    The trophy will unlock as soon as you encounter the Mementos deviation for the first time.

  • 刈り取るもの撃破

    The Reaper is a stunningly-difficult optional boss that appears to attack the player's party whenever they stay on a floor of Mementos for too long. It will appear if the player stays stationary in the Morgana car for two minutes or more in an area of Mementos. This includes the bits next to the escalators leading up and down in areas of Mementos, though he won't enter that area and will just camp outside until the player engages him.

    This trophy involves defeating the Reaper for the first time.

    Notably, the Reaper has access to every element of attack and resists every element as well. Because of this, you'll need to sufficiently prepare. Due to the Reaper's range of attacks, you may benefit from just bringing Joker with an appropriate Persona, as this will avoid the Reaper gaining additional moves from landing critical hits or weaknesses. The Tower Arcana Persona Yoshitsune is ideal for this, as it blocks physical attacks and can learn "Resist X" for every element of attack.

    Alternatively, you can use Safe difficulty as a way of bypassing the risk associated with encountering him, as you'll be able to revive the protagonist and party any time the player faints from battle. Basically, you can just enter the battle with the Reaper and press  to enter rush mode, which will speed up the flow of battle and spam physical attacks until he dies.

    For players returning from Persona 5, the flu days in November and December no longer work for the Reaper. The Reaper is now immune to all status effects (including Despair), so you'll have to defeat him the legitimate way. The Reaper does not appear in safe areas with good reason, and also does not appear in end areas in Mementos Paths as there isn't enough space to spawn him.

    The trophy will unlock as soon as you beat him for the first time.

    Fusing Personas is a key mechanic to the dungeon aspects of Persona 5 Royal. Fusions are sorted into "executions", which are basically just a way of tying it into the incarceration theme of the game.

    This trophy entails using a Guillotine execution to create a new Persona. Any two Personas that are of different Arcana can be used for a basic Guillotine execution.

    By default, this is unlocked as soon as you're able to access the Velvet Room's fusion facilities, as early as 4/18. On 4/18 as well there is a tutorial showing you how to perform a Guillotine execution, using two Personas you will have collected at that point, being Arsene and Pixie.

    Otherwise, enter the Velvet Room any time you have two or more Personas in your stock. Select the first two options in the menu when speaking to Igor, then select "Normal Fusion" to conduct a basic Guillotine execution. Pick any two personas within your stock and you will be able to execute them both, fusing them together into a new Persona.

    Fusing Personas is a key mechanic to the dungeon aspects of Persona 5 Royal. Fusions are sorted into "executions", which are basically just a way of tying it into the incarceration theme of the game.

    This trophy entails using a Group Guillotine execution to create a new Persona. This option is unlocked with Strength Confidant Rank 1. Speak to Caroline and Justine in the Velvet Room and they will task you with completing fusion tasks in order to build your Confidant Rank with them. Once you reach Rank 1, Group Guillotine fusions will be unlocked.

    Enter the Velvet Room in order to speak to Igor. Select the first two options in the menu, then select "Advanced Fusion" to conduct a Group Guillotine execution. Advanced Fusions are called so because they require specific Personas, as opposed to Normal Fusions which can just use any two. For example, Neko Shogun can only be fused with three specific Personas, Anzu, Sudama and Kodama.

    If you do not have the required Personas currently in your stock, selecting one of the Advanced Fusion options will give you a prompt to buy those Personas if you've recruited or fused them before. In the Neko Shogun example, if you only have an Anzu in your stock, but have previous had Sudama and Kodama, you will be able to buy them again when selecting the option to fuse Neko Shogun.

    Lockdown is a Velvet Room mechanic where you can leave a Persona jailed for several days in order to strengthen it. When a Persona is placed in Lockdown, you can smoke it with some Incense to strengthen it in different ways.

    This trophy involves using Incense on Persona when placing it in Lockdown for the first time. This option is unlocked with Strength Confidant Rank 3.

    First, you'll need to acquire Incense. These are usually acquired by purchasing them, which you can do in three different locations. Jose in Mementos sells them for 80 flowers each. Secondly, in the new location in Kichijoji, you can buy incense for various prices from Mantra Ganda incense shop, located in a back alley on the west side of the map. Lastly, you can buy incense twice from the shopping channel by examining the TV in Leblanc on two different days, 7/3 and 11/13. If you buy them using the third method, they'll take at least one day to arrive before you can use them.

    After acquiring Incense, enter the Velvet Room, speak to Igor, and select the second option in the first menu to view the Lockdown menu. Here, you can send a Persona to Lockdown, and once you do, you will be given the option to smoke it with some Incense. Pick the incense from the menu to use it for that Persona.

    The trophy will unlock when you use Incense for the first time.

    This trophy entails using a Gallows execution. A Gallows execution is when you sacrifice one Persona in order to increase the EXP of another one. Unlike the other fusion executions, this does not create a new Persona, it just increases the EXP and potentially the level of an exiting Persona in your stock.

    Enter the Velvet Room any time you have two or more Personas in your stock. Select the first option in the menu when speaking to Igor, then select "Strengthen Persona" to conduct a Gallows execution. Pick one Persona to strengthen, and then a second to sacrifice.

    Fusion Alarms are scenarios where the fusions are altered and new abilities can be learned outside of the normal range for a particular Persona. During a Fusion Alarm, the Velvet Room is coated in red and the fusion results change. Fusion Alarms are not random, but rather occur by filling up an invisible 'meter' by catching shadows by surprise and performing well in battle.

    When a Fusion Alarm is activated, you'll see a Velvet Room cell door appear on screen and start glowing red. You can then make your way back to the Velvet Room from whatever location you're in and participate in fusions during the Fusion Alarm.

    This trophy involves performing any fusion or execution during the Fusion Alarm.

    You are first introduced to this while exiting Kaneshiro's palace after reaching the treasure. This is fixed and will happen every time, so this is an optimal time to earn this trophy. The name of the trophy may mislead some into thinking a fusion accident is required for the trophy. It isn't. Any fusion during the heightened fusion accidents conditions will unlock this trophy.

    If you want a Fusion Alarm to go away, you can speak to the Velvet Room attendants next to the cell door in order to deactivate it. Just be sure to earn this trophy first.

    This trophy entails using an Electric Chair execution. An Electric Chair execution is when you sacrifice one Persona in order to convert it into a usable item. Usually this is a skill card or accessory

    Enter the Velvet Room any time you have a Persona you're fine with sacrificing in your stock. Select the first option in the menu when speaking to Igor and then select "Itemize Persona" to conduct an Electric Chair execution. Pick one Persona to sacrifice and the game will show you what item it'll convert into before finalizing the execution.

  • ルブラン店内を掃除した

    Leblanc is the café downstairs from your living area. You'll need to go through this place potentially hundreds of times in Persona 5 Royal as it's the only way of getting to your room. The Heirophant and Justice Arcana Confidants are also started from here.

    At any point in-game where you're able to spend free time in Leblanc, you can opt to clean up the inside of it. This trophy involves you doing that for the first time. When inside Leblanc, interact with the toilet door on the far-left side, just before heading upstairs into your room. In this menu, select the second option to sweep up Leblanc. It'll yield +1 Kindness, +1 relationship points for Heirophant, and the trophy.

    Part-time jobs are a way of spending time in Persona 5 Royal. Unlike real part-time jobs, once you accept these you can just attend them whenever you want with no restrictions to your schedule. This trophy involves working any part time job for the first time.

    There are several part-time jobs that you can work to increase stats and earn money. Most have a requirement that one of your social stats is increased to some extent. Your first will very likely be the convenience store in Shibuya, as it requires no social stat prerequisites.

    Below is a list of part-time jobs you can work, their locations, and how to start them:

    • Triple Seven convenience store, work during the day, Shibuya Central Street, read the pamphlet from the jobs stand in the underground station in Shibuya.
    • Flower shop, work during the day or night, Shibuya underground mall, read the pamphlet from the jobs stand in the underground station in Shibuya.
    • Beef bowl shop, work during the night, Shibuya Central Street, read the pamphlet from the jobs stand in the underground station in Shibuya.
    • Crossroads bar, work during the night, Shinjuku, rank up Devil Confidant, then speak to the bar owner Lala Escargot.

     

  • バッティングセンターで初めて球を打った

    The batting cages are available at any time in Yongenjaya and are places you can spend time. In the early game, it'll be the most efficient way of getting proficiency points, as your caretaker won't let you outside of Yongenjaya for a while. This trophy involves going to the batting cages and hitting at least one baseball.

    When you go to the batting cages, you'll need to play a mini-game where you use the  to angle your bat and the interact button to hit the ball. Position your bat in the glowing silhouette and hit the ball when the pitching machine fires it. You'll have to time it right in order to hit the ball.

    During the day you'll be given five balls to potentially hit, whereas at night you can keep going as long as you want. If you're particularly bad with coordination, night is definitely the time to earn this trophy as you can just keep going until you earn it.

    The trophy will unlock when you hit a ball for the first time. Below is a video showing this.

  • 銭湯でノボせた

    Across the street from Leblanc is a bathhouse where you can spend time in the evenings to increase charm. During rainy days, you can stay in the baths for longer and get an additional point for charm in addition to the normal amount. However, there is also about a 50% chance your protagonist will be overwhelmed instead of refreshed when staying in the baths for longer, instead yielding a point for guts.

    This trophy involves going to the bathhouse on a rainy day and getting the latter of those two results. If you want to save as much time as possible, it is recommended you save your game right before entering the bathhouse on a rainy day, that way you can reload if you get the additional charm point instead of the additional guts point.

    If you see this screen, your player character will have stayed too long in the bathhouse and become exhausted, unlocking the trophy:


  • 宝くじが当たった

    In Shibuya, outside the underground train stations, there is a lottery machine you can purchase tickets from. After purchasing a ticket, you must wait 7 in-game days before you can turn it in and check the results of the ticket from the machine. This trophy involves buying a ticket and winning some money from it 7 days later.

    You can't save and reload every time you turn in the lottery ticket as the result is fixed as soon as you buy it. It is recommended you buy a ticket as early as possible and just keep going throughout the game if you don't win the first time. The chances are very high for the first lottery ticket so it's unlikely you won't earn this trophy on the first attempt.

    The trophy will unlock as soon as you check the ticket result and win some money. Below is what the lottery machine looks like:

    Inside the arcade in Akihabara is a crane game where you can spend money to potentially win a prize. It is entirely random with no input from the player other than spending the money. Although it spends no time in-game, you can only play it once per day. Because of this, it is recommended that you save beforehand, that way you can reload as many times as you need to until you get it. 

    The crane game is inside the arcade in Akihabara, which is unlocked on 8/31. It is on the far left side of the arcade. The trophy will unlock as soon as you win for the first time. Below is what it looks like, on the left side of the arcade:

  • 古着屋で古着を売った

    Furugi no Neuchi is one of the new stores in Kichijoji, Persona 5 Royal's new location. After unlocking Kichijoji on 6/5, you can access the store, which is pretty close to the entrance of the town.

    This trophy involves selling Sooty clothes at the store for the first time. The store is unique in that you don't buy clothes there at all, you only sell items. Sooty clothes can be found in dungeons and can't be purchased at stores by themselves. They can be washed at the coin-operated laundry in Yongenjaya, across the road from Leblanc, however they can be sold to Furugi no Neuchi instead. Washing Sooty clothes first means they cannot be sold at the used clothes shop.

    After acquiring Sooty clothes, head to Kichijoji and find the used clothes store, located in the southwest corner of the area. Sell any Sooty clothing item here and the trophy will unlock.

    The Penguin Sniper in Kichijoji is a location where you can play games to increase your relationship with the Phantom Thieves. This trophy involves playing a game of darts at the Penguin Sniper. The first sequence this occurs is in a cutscene on 6/5. As this is not playable, the trophy will not unlock here. Instead, you will need to travel in your free time after 6/5.

    Head to Kichijoji and go to the Penguin Sniper. Pick the first option to invite your friends to play some darts.
    The darts mini-game uses tilt controls to aim, :R2: to focus aim, and while holding :R2:, use the interact button to throw a dart. Otherwise, the rules for darts are the same, and you should aim to have your points reduce 300 to 0 without going below. 

    Regardless whether you win or lose the game, the trophy will unlock. You can even immediately concede the game if you don't want to waste time playing the mini-game.

  • ビリヤードで遊んだ

    *MISSABLE*

    The Penguin Sniper in Kichijoji is a location where you can play games to increase your relationship with the Phantom Thieves. This trophy involves playing a game of billiards at the Penguin Sniper. The billiards game is not actually any sort of mini-game, it's just a cutscene with the Phantom thieves conversing while playing pool.

    Head to Kichijoji and go to the Penguin Sniper. Pick the second option to invite your friends to play some billiards. The trophy will unlock immediately after the cutscene.

  • ジャズクラブを利用した

    *MISSABLE*

    The jazz club is a location in Kichijoji. You can spend time with a Confidant there in order to increase your relationship level. This trophy involves going there for the first time.

    The first time you'll access this location is through rank 4 of the Justice Confidant. This unlocks the location to be accessed later. After this Confidant rank, you can visit the jazz club in the evenings to unlock the trophy.

    Your party members will also occasionally invite you on certain nights. The earliest example of this is by Yusuke on the evening of 8/15. In any case, any visit to the jazz club after Justice Rank 4 will unlock the trophy.

  • お寺を利用した

    *MISSABLE*

    The temple is one of the new stores in Kichijoji, Persona 5 Royal's new location. You can attend the temple on a free day to increase your max SP in the dungeons, which spends time. After unlocking Kichijoji on 6/5, you can access the temple, which is at the far southeastern corner of the map.

    After 6/5, travel to Kichijoji and locate the temple. Speak to the bald guy outside and follow the prompts until you get a cutscene of the protagonist sitting inside the temple with Morgana. The trophy will unlock the first time you visit the temple.

  • 銃をカスタムした

    *MISSABLE*

    In the military store in Shibuya, you can customize guns for use in dungeons. This trophy involves customizing a gun for the first time. Gun customization requires a Confidant Rank 1 with Munehisa Iwai, the owner of the gun shop. This in turn requires your social stat Guts to be rank 4, so it'll be fairly late into the game before you can do this.

    Once you have Guts at rank 4, speak to Munehisa Iwai in the gun shop to start his Confidant and reach rank 1. As this spends time, return the next day and speak to him again to access his shop. You can customize guns you already own or any gun that you purchase from Iwai.

    If you have a gun you want to customize, navigate to the last option of his menu. Here, you can pick one of your guns. Pick any upgrade to customize the gun with. If you want to customize a new gun instead, you can purchase any gun from Iwai, and you will be asked if you want to customize it right away once you buy it. When you enter the customization menu, you'll have several options to pick from. Each increases accuracy, power or other stats, so pick the ones that suit your playstyle the best:

    In either case, the trophy will unlock as soon as you customize a gun for the first time.

  • 釣り堀で魚を釣った

    The fishing pond is a location in Persona 5 where you can spend time catching fish in a mini-game. This trophy involves doing this for the first time.

    First, you will need to discover the location of the fishing pond, as it is not unlocked by default. You'll need to read the book Fishpond Spotter or be invited by Ryuji on 7/6 to discover the location. After this, you can access it at any time from the map to spend time there.

    When fishing, you'll need to throw out your line using the interact button. After tossing out the line, wait for a fish to bite. Once it does, press interact again and begin to reel it in. You'll need to hold the interact button while tilting the left analogue stick to balance the line. Keep the needle within the red area, otherwise the line will snap and the fish will get away.

    The trophy will unlock as soon as you successfully catch a fish for the first time. Below is a video of the fishing mini-game:

  • メイド喫茶でスペシャルメニューを頼んだ

    The maid café is a location in Akihabara where you can spend time to increase social stats and also eat a delicious meal. This trophy involves getting the menu special at the maid café, which occurs on the next visit after spending a total of 20,000 Yen there.

    Normally, you will be able to order which menu item you want to eat, so order the most expensive menu item which costs 5,000 Yen. If ordering just this item, you will get the menu special on your fifth visit to the cafe.

    The Castle Palace is the very first dungeon of the game. The deadline is described in-game as 5/2, however you must reach the treasure two days earlier in order to send the palace owner his calling card and defeat the main boss.

    The trophy will unlock in the scenes following the dungeon's deadline.

  • 美術館パレスクリア

    Story-related and cannot be missed. 

    The Museum Palace is the second dungeon of the game. The deadline is described in-game as 6/5, however you must reach the treasure two days earlier in order to send the palace owner his calling card and defeat the main boss. Also, there is a wall in this dungeon which requires two in-game days to bypass. In short, the earliest you can begin this palace is 2/5 in order to not fail its completion requirements.

    The trophy will unlock in the scenes following the dungeon's deadline.

  • 銀行パレスクリア

    Story-related and cannot be missed. 

    The Bank Palace is the third dungeon of the game. The deadline is described in-game as 7/9, however you must reach the treasure two days earlier in order to send the palace owner his calling card and defeat the main boss.

  • ピラミッドパレスクリア

    Story-related and cannot be missed. 

    The Pyramid Palace is the fourth dungeon of the game. The deadline is described in-game as 8/21, however you must reach the treasure two days earlier in order to send the palace owner her calling card and defeat the main boss.

    Story-related and cannot be missed. 

    The Spaceport Palace is the fifth dungeon of the game. The deadline is described in-game as 10/11, however you must reach the treasure two days earlier in order to send the palace owner his calling card and defeat the main boss.

    The trophy will unlock in the scenes following the dungeon's deadline.

    Story-related and cannot be missed. 

    The Casino Palace is the sixth dungeon of the game. The deadline is described in-game as 11/20, but the absolute limit to begin this dungeon is 11/16 due to a wall that must be bypassed via an event in the real world. If you do not enter the dungeon and hit the wall by 11/16, you will miss a mandatory event. If you do so, you will have to accept a prompt which restarts your progress a week from the dungeon deadline.

    The trophy will unlock in the scenes following the dungeon's deadline.

  • 客船パレスクリア

    Story-related, but can be missed if you pick the bad ending after the Casino Palace. The Cruiser Palace is the seventh dungeon of the game. The deadline is described in-game as 12/18, however you must reach the treasure two days earlier in order to send the palace owner his calling card and defeat the main boss.

    The trophy will unlock in the scenes following the dungeon's deadline.

    Story-related, but can be missed if you pick the bad ending after the Casino Palace. Mementos Depths is the eighth dungeon of the game. On the path to the true ending, you'll be called into mementos on 12/24 and be forced to reach the depths of Mementos. This involves traversing all Paths in Mementos except for the Path of Da’at, which is introduced in the third semester.

    All floors of Mementos will be available to the player following the scenes taking place after the Cruiser Palace deadline. Each Path is unlocked after the deadline is reached for the palaces in the game, as follows:

    Path of Qimranut: 2 floors. Unlocked after Castle Palace deadline.
    Path of Aiyatsbus: 7 floors. Unlocked after Museum Palace deadline.
    Path of Chemdah: 8 floors. Unlocked after Bank Palace deadline.
    Path of Kaitul: 10 floors. Unlocked after Pyramid Palace deadline.
    Path of Akzeriyyuth: 12 floors. Unlocked after Spaceport Palace deadline.
    Path of Adyeshach: 13 floors. Unlocked after Casino Palace deadline.
    Path of Sheriruth: 14 floors. Unlocked after Cruiser Palace deadline.
    Path of Iweleth: Just 1 floor. Unlocked when prompted to enter Mementos on 12/24. This floor is also just for the plot, it doesn’t contain any gameplay aside from walking in a straight line and exists only for story purposes.

    After reaching the last area in the Path of Sheriruth on 12/24, enter a door that was previously locked and enter the Path of Iweleth. After crossing through this path, you will need to complete two dungeons in order:

    Mementos Depths, the world's Palace.
    Qliphoth World.

    After completing Qliphoth World and finishing the final boss of Mementos, the trophy will unlock.

    This new trophy involves completing Royal’s brand-new Laboratory Palace. it is on the path to the new Royal true ending, so while it is connected to the story, it can be missed if you do not meet the requirements of that ending. See The Path Chosen for those requirements. The deadline is described in-game as 2/3, which is the actual deadline unlike the other palaces due to the fact that the protagonist will send the calling card in a mandatory story scene if the treasure has been reached by that date. 

    The Palace is also unique in that there are several infiltrations with different, story-related objectives leading up to the main infiltration.

    10/3: This is the first glimpse of the palace, taking place during the Spaceport Palace. Notably, if you send the Spaceport Palace's owner's calling card on 10/2, which causes you to enter his palace on 10/3, then this first glimpse of the new Palace will be deferred to 10/4. Either way, it cannot be missed.

    1/3: This is the first main infiltration. After progressing through a number of rooms, you will encounter a boss and then must spend the next seven days speaking to your Phantom Thieves party members, one per day. It is the only way to spend free time on those days, and the thieves can be done in any order:

    • Ann Takamaki. Locate Ann in the underground mall in Shibuya.
    • Haru Okumura. Locate Haru near the Penguin Sniper in Kichijoji.
    • Ryuji Sakamoto. Locate Ryuji outside the school in Aoyama-Itchome.
    • Makoto Niijima. Locate Makoto in the underground rail station in Shibuya.
    • Yusuke Kitagawa. Locate Yusuke in the art gallery in Ueno.
    • Futaba Sakura. Locate Futaba outside the electronics store in Akihabara.

    1/9: You will be forced to enter the Palace again after speaking to the above party members. You will continue until you meet another boss, and some story scenes later you will be instructed to enter Mementos and complete Royal’s new Path, the Path of Da’at.
    1/10 onward: Enter Mementos and complete the Path of Da’at. It is 16 floors long.
    1/11 onward (after finishing Path of Da’at): You can finally enter the palace for the main infiltration. There is now nothing stopping you from reaching the treasure from here.

    The trophy will unlock in the scenes following the dungeon's deadline.

    Story-related, but can be missed if you pick the bad ending after the Casino Palace. Personal 5 Royal has four main endings that lead to the credits, not counting the Palace bad endings that just reset to a week earlier:

    • Palace bad endings
    • Persona 5 bad ending 1
    • Persona 5 bad ending 2
    • Persona 5 true ending
    • Persona 5 Royal bad ending 1
    • Persona 5 Royal bad ending 2
    • Persona 5 Royal true ending

    Either the original Persona 5 true ending or Persona 5 Royal's true ending will unlock this trophy. It is highly recommended that Persona 5 Royal's true ending is attained as there are two other trophies tied to the new content added in Persona 5 Royal. The requirements for each ending are as follows:

    Palace bad endings:
    During any Palace period:

    • Fail to meet the requirements of a Palace before the deadline.
    • You will be prompted to start again from one week prior, resetting any progress you made in those days.


    For Persona 5 bad ending 1 (no trophy):
    11/19, after finishing Casino Palace:

    • Agree to the deal offered to you. This involves picking the third option to the second question that you are asked.


    For Persona 5 bad ending 2(no trophy):
    11/19, after finishing Casino Palace:

    • Do not agree to the deal offered to you. This involves picking the first or second option to the secondquestion that you are asked.

    12/24:

    • Agree to the deal offered to you.


    For Persona 5 true ending (earns this trophy, but you will miss out on trophies associated with Royal's new content):
    Requirements before 11/17:

    • Councillor Confidant rank 9 not achieved.

    11/19:

    • Do not agree to the deal offered to you. This involves picking the first or second option to the secondquestion that you are asked.

    12/24:

    • Do not agree to the deal offered to you. Choose the first option when a thought bubble is presented with an offer.


    For Persona 5 Royal bad ending 1 (no trophy):

    • Councillor Confidant rank 9 achieved. Rank 10 will happen automatically on 11/17.

    The trophy will unlock after the credits, following the final day and the anime cutscene for the Persona 5 true ending and Persona 5 Royal true ending.
