Introduction:

Despite the name, Persian Nights: Sands of Wonders is not in fact another Prince of Persia game. Instead, it's another HO adventure game from Artifex Mundi. An evil vizier is poised to take over Persia and it's up to apothecary Tara, her mysterious companion Darius and their genie Minu to stop him and defeat the ancient evil power he wields.

If you've played any of these games, you know exactly what to expect from the trophy list. Play on Expert, don't skip any puzzles or use hints (i.e don't ) and make sure you gather all the collectibles. There's only one set of collectibles this time around, but they're surprisingly well hidden in the environment. Make them a priority every time you enter a new screen, as a few are located on screens you will only be able to access once. There is also a second set of pseudo-collectibles in the form of exhausting conversation options with your companion, Darius. However, you don't need to do anything special to get these conversations to trigger and the game makes it obvious when they're there (there will be a dialogue bubble on screen).

I have written a walkthrough here, that will get you all trophies in a single playthrough: LINK

Walkthrough:

Step 1: New game, expert, no hints/skips and gather all collectibles

Simply play through the game. As mentioned above, make collectibles a priority over everything else because they must all be collected in a single playthrough and some of them are on screens that you will only be able to access once (like in the maze). To help you out, I have listed the trophies in order of unlocking.

By the end of this step, you will have earned the story-related:

Serendipity
Apprentice Apothecary
Peculiar Companion
To the Skies!
Another World
Expert Apothecary
Orion Unbound
King's Blood
The Radiant City
Dungeon Crawler
Prison Break
Long Live the King
Point of No Return
Master Apothecary
Expert Player
Sunrise

...and if you got all collectibles:

Citizen
Small Talk
Aristocrat
Chatty
Royal Family

...and the miscellaneous:

Faster Than Light!
Lightning Search
Eagle-Eyed
Flawless Aim
Bright Mind
Skilled Searcher
Master Searcher
Puzzle Expert

Step 2: Cleanup (optional)

If you missed any trophies in Step 1, you will need to start a new game to get another chance at them. As long as you unlocked the Expert difficulty and no hints/skips trophies in Step 1, feel free to play on casual and use hints/skips to make this playthrough go quicker.

By the end of this step, you will have earned:

Platinum - Congratulations!

30 trophies ( 17  13  )

  • Unlock every Trophy.

    Congratulations!

  • Complete the game.

    See Expert player.

  • Finish the game in Expert mode

When starting a new game, select Expert and you will be locked into this trophy. Expert mode does not make any of the puzzles or HO scenes more difficult, it simply means that interactible things in the environment don't sparkle and the hint meter (which you shouldn't be using) charges more slowly.

  • Prepare your first potion.

Story related and cannot be missed

You will unlock this in the Antechamber, after mixing a healing potion for Darius.

  • Prepare 3 potions.

Story related and cannot be missed

You will unlock this in the Great Hall, after mixing a potion to take care of the giant snake.

  • Prepare 5 potions.

Story related and cannot be missed

You will unlock this when you mix the quick plaster potion near the end of the game.

  • Finish a Hidden Object Puzzle with fewer than 4 mistakes.

For this trophy, just take your time locating objects in any HO scene before clicking on them. A mistake is denoted by a controller vibration. See Lightning Search for a great place to unlock all of the miscellaneous HO trophies.

  • Finish any Hidden Object Puzzle in less than 1 minute.

There are two ways to do this trophy:

1: Study a HO scene, locate the objects and go in already knowing where everything is.
2: Load up the game on Casual and click around like crazy. With no penalty for misclicks, you're likely to clear most HO scenes in about 30-40 seconds.

See Lightning Search for a great place to unlock all the miscellaneous HO trophies.

  • Find 3 hidden objects within 3 seconds.

For this trophy to unlock, you need to not only pick up three objects in as many seconds but you also need to not have any misclicks/errors while doing it. The trophy will unlock immediately once you've done it.

There's a great non-randomized HO scene early in the game, in the Antechamber, where you can unlock this and all of the miscellaneous HO trophies. It's when you need to collect drops of water from the statue. Make a backup save before walking up to the statue and reload it if needed until you've unlocked all three miscellaneous HO trophies.

  • Finish all Hidden Object Puzzles without using a Hint.

As with all of these games, is your enemy so avoid this button at all costs and you will unlock this game-spanning trophy after solving the HO scene in the Secret Room, where you get the frigid clay. If you accidentally hit the button, immediately quit to XMB (not the main menu, else the autosave will trigger) and relaunch the game. The game will forget that you ever pressed the hint button.

  • Finish 3 Hidden Object Puzzles in a row without using a Hint.

    See Master Searcher.

  • Find a Khur Palace marking.

    See Royal Family.

  • Find half of all the Khur Palace markings.

    See Royal Family.

  • Find all the Khur Palace markings.

The Khur Palace markings are the only collectible in the game; there are 32 in total. You will never have access to every area of the game at once, so make these a priority with every new screen, especially because a few of these are on screens that you will only ever access once in the entire game (like the maze). They kinda look like the Taj Mahal, and area always on the main screen (never in "walk up" or "zoom" subwindows).

    In order:

    32. Tainted Sepulcher - On the left staircase
  • Finish 4 Minigames in a row without skipping.

    See Puzzle Expert.

  • Finish any Minigame in less than 1 minute.

There are a few minigames where you may actually unlock this naturally. If you just want to get it out of the way, early in the game in the Nests area, there is a figurine moving puzzle in one of the nests. Once you find the missing figurines, put them in the empty spots and move them in the following order: genie / woman / king / soldier / woman / king / genie / Simurgh / genie.

  • Finish all Minigames without skipping.

As with all of these games, is your enemy so avoid it at all times and you will unlock this trophy at the end of the game after the final rune battle.
