Introduction:

With the last days on Earth imminent, humans have honed their technology to leave the planet and seek life elsewhere in the universe. After the first ship failed to leave the hangar, the second ship, The Flores, takes flight with thousands of cryopods carrying humanity to their next destination. After finding a habitable planet, the first set of pods are released to explore the newly discovered planet and create a new home for our species to thrive in. As with most sci-fi games, things don't quite go as planned and the first settlers come eye to eye with a strange anomaly that will either kill you or grant you powers well beyond any human could imagine. When staying on the foreign planet no longer sounds like the best idea, you're unfortunately dropped back into your cryopod for a few more decades, just to awaken to a war-ridden world where famine and greed have taken over. As the last surviving Outrider, it'll be up to you to discover the truth about how your people got this way and, even more importantly, how to fix it.

Demo/Early Access Progress and YOU!: ... so you played through the game before it was released. Well, aren't you just a fancy pants mcgee. If you took part in the demo days or participated in the early access program, your progress will carry over from that save file. This won't be the full game, though, as not all of the story-related quests were available in this early build.

Autopops and YOU!: ... so played through the game on the PS4/PS5 and earned yourself the platinum. Well, aren't you a fancy pants mcgee x2! If you played on the PS4 and download the game onto a PS5 console, all of the trophies will autopop for you when you start the game. The same goes for the opposite. If you played the game on your PS5 and install it on a PS4 console (or use the PS5's BC feature), start up the game and all of the trophies will autopop for you.

World Tiers and YOU!: The difficulty settings of this game are tied to what is known as "World Tiers". Everyone will start on Tier 1, aka the easiest difficulty available. From there, you'll need to complete quests, accolades etc. to unlock Tier 2. By default, your World Tier will automatically change to the currently available highest tier. You can change back via the Map Menu. In order to unlock the next tier, you must play on the highest available Tier so Tier 3 will only unlock if you play on Tier 2. Tier 4 will only unlock if you play on Tier 3, etc. In total, there are 15 Tiers you can unlock. The higher the Tier, the more difficult the game will be but also the better loot you'll get. Just to put it as a reference, I'd personally rate the platinum on Tier 1 at about a 3-3.5. I only opened up to Tier 5 which easily bumped the difficulty of the game up to about a 5-5.5 (solo play). If you want to play with other people, you are more than welcomed to do so. The World Tier will need to be set by whoever is hosting the party and only the Tiers they have unlocked will be available.

Your Outrider Class and YOU!: There are 4 Classes available to play in the game: Pyromancer (medium-range), Trickster (close-range), Devastator (close-range) and Technomancer (long-range). There's no "right" class to play for trophies. They will all take equally the same amount of time to complete the accolades and complete the story. The one you choose should be determined by your preferred playstyle. If you like standing back and more so firing at your enemies, Pyromancer or Technomancer will be good for you. If you enjoy a tanking class that can take a massive amount of damage, you'd like the Devastator. If you want to be up close and personal with your foes and look into their eyes as you take them out, Trickster could be fun. You'll get to choose your class after playing the Prologue so be sure to look them all over and decide which one you prefer. The Mods you get from dismantling items will change depending on which class you get so whichever you choose, the game will alter to give you the best experience possible.

Patches: Make sure you are playing on game version 1.07 or higher. The patches included in this version fixed the server and disconnect issues and also address the glitch some player's have run into of their inventories being wiped. This version also adds more markers to the world and minimaps, making some of the side quests much easier. If you're playing on the PS4, the loading times will be a little on the rough side but if you're playing on the PS5, you shouldn't have an issue.

Walkthrough:

Please note that while this walkthrough is split up into two steps, you can work on everything as you play through the story except for the Expeditions which only unlock after you complete the main story. The steps are split up in a "main focus" and "easy to cleanup" manner but please feel free to combine them if you're looking to work on all the jazz in one score.

Step 1: Play through the game while completing the side quests and working on your class accolades

There are no missable trophies in the game so how you play it is be up to you. You can do the collectibles and side quests as you go through the story or you can clean them up after. Due to the quest rewards, it is recommended you try and do the side quests as you play along. All of them will appear on your Maps once they become available except for one - Forbidden Chapel. This is the only side quest that won't have an actual "!" to start it. In fact, it won't actually have a tracker until you're almost done with it. For more information on that, please see Squaretasking trophy_gold.png. Outside of the Main/Side Quests, your other focus should 100% be your Class Accolades for Outrider, First Class trophy_silver.png. These will require you to complete tiers based on your Class' skills. If done properly, you can get most of these out of the way as you progress through the story, then just use the Expeditions post-game to clean up any you're still missing. If you do not work on these as you go, the grinding required post-game will be quite hefty so do be sure to keep an eye on them as you go.

You'll make really good progression towards One for the Books trophy_silver.png by just playing through the story and completing the side quests. There is an additional Journey Entry you can earn by completing each of the Expeditions. There are 92 found out in the open world and need to be manually picked up. Please see One for the Books for their locations if you want to work on those as you play. You can also clean those up post-game. Be sure to also keep an eye on your Sold Items, Dismantled Items and Mods collected. You'll be picking up a lot of gear as you play through the game so what you do with it will depend on what you still need trophy-wise. On the subject of Modding, you want to absolutely make sure that your armor is properly modded with the skills you currently have active. Switching these out as you switch out your skills should give you enough for Extreme Engineering trophy_bronze.png but if you're still short, you can easily clean it up post-game.

When you complete the side quest "The Outrider's Legacy", you'll be rewarded a Legendary item, no matter what World Tier you're playing on so be sure to equip it for Spoils of War trophy_bronze.png (if you haven't already earned that trophy).

The only other thing to even remotely worry about is the World Tier. As stated before, this determines the difficulty of your game. If you find yourself struggling through a section, you can drop down to a lower tier. If you find yourself breezing through everything, you can bump it up. Changing this has 0 effect on the trophies so be sure to use it as needed.

Once you completed this step, you will have earned the following:

Awoken to a Nightmare trophy_bronze.png
In Rode A Hero trophy_bronze.png
Wavelengths and Wishes trophy_bronze.png

Step 2: Expeditions and Clean-up

The Expeditions will unlock once you complete the story so you can use these to finish cleaning up your Class Accolades, Selling items, Dismantling items and collecting Mods. If you're short on kills for Gravedigger's BFF trophy_gold.png, you can use the Expeditions for that as well. If you didn't get the Journals required for One for the Books trophy_silver.png in Step 1, you can cleanup the open-world notes here by just traveling to each area and picking up however many you still need. Outside of that, you'll need to work on the modding/upgrading trophies if you're still short. You should reach your Level 20 Accolade level while working on all of the other trophies but please see Been Everywhere, Done It All trophy_gold.png for more tips on making it easier/ what you should be focusing on.

Once you completed this step, you will have earned the following:

53 trophies ( 38  9  )

  • Obtain all Trophies.

Earn all of the other trophies to unlock this trophy.
  • Complete the Historian questline.

This is required for Squaretasking trophy_gold.png.

The Historian questline starts in Rift Town. You'll need to speak with Madame Beauvoir, a vendor of old Earth world goods that no one really wants to buy anymore. After you speak with her the first time, she'll ask you to keep an eye out for any old Earth objects that she can put on her shelves. There are 10 items total, the last of which is found in the last area you open up, The Caravel so you won't be able to actually get this trophy until you're pretty close to finishing the campaign. You'll be able to see if an area has a "Historical Artficat" for you to pick up when you're on the world map. Just scroll over each area and if "Historian" is listed under the available quests (and not grayed-out), it means there's something for you to pick up. There will also be a yellow "!" on the location and, depending on what patch you're playing on, the yellow Historian icon.

When you're in an area, the Historian icon will mark where you need to go. Once you enter the area the object is, the side quest will automatically start. The objects and locations of everything you need to find are as follows:

Holographic Disk (Everlasting) - Rift Town
Apollo 11 Scale Model (Inspiration) - The First City
S.M. Flores Limited Edition Wrist Watch (Timeless ) - Eagle Peaks
Amazing Stories No. 1 (Vision) - Deadrock Pass
Box of Soil (Roots) - Quarry
Family Photograph (Memories) - The Gate
    Soda Can (Survival) - Dunes
Cell Phone (Connection) - Canyon of the Grand Obelisk
    Lipstick (Change) - Pax City
Action Figure (Evolution) - The Caravel

Each of these will also count as a journal entry towards One for the Books trophy_silver.png.
  • Complete the Wanted questline.

This is required for Squaretasking trophy_gold.png

The Wanted questline and the Hunter questline both start in the same area. You'll need to progress through the story until you reach Trench Town, then complete the initial story-related quests to open up the bar area. Once it's open, head inside and inside a small room is the bounty hunter, Uijo. He'll ask you to track down bounties in exchange for gear. There are 10 total, the last of which is found in The Gate, which will allow you to complete this questline before Patron of the Past trophy_bronze.png and Big Game Hunter trophy_bronze.png. You'll be able to see if an area has a Bounty for you to track down and kill when you're on the world map. Just scroll over each area and if "Wanted" is listed under the available quests (and not grayed-out), it means there's a bounty to kill. There will also be a yellow "!" on the world map and, depending on what patch you're playing on, the Wanted icon.

When you're in an area, just open the area map and if there's a bounty to kill, it'll show as an icon on the map. You'll need to look for a yellow "!" to actually pick up the quest so you can complete it (it'll be a wanted poster). These are usually either right by where you'll actually find the bounty or just next to your camp. These can be done at any point so long as the area they're located in is open and captured (has a travel point). While you can wait until you finish the story to do these, the gear rewards you get from this can be quite beneficial early on in the game so it's recommended you do them as you go.

The list of the monsters and their locations are as follows:

    The Perforator - Rift Town
    Hannibal - The First City
    Hailstorm - Eagle Peaks
    Brickhead - Deadrock Pass
    Bloody Baron - Wreckage Zone
    Scalp King - Quarry
    The Hornet - Forest Enclave
    Maneater - The Stronghold
    Headmasher - Ancient Ruins
    Blitzkrieg - The Gate

Each of these will also count as a journal entry towards One for the Books trophy_silver.png.
  • Complete the Hunter questline.

This is required for Squaretasking trophy_gold.png

The Wanted questline and the Hunter questling both start in the same area. You'll need to progress through the story until you reach Trench Town, then complete the initial story-related quests to open up the bar area. Once it's open, head inside and speak to the bartender, Noah. He'll ask you to track down any big and mean monsters you can, then return its trophy to him in exchange for some pretty decent gear. There are 10 monsters total, the last of which is found in Canyon of the Grand Obelisk so you won't be able to actually get this trophy until you're pretty close to finishing the campaign. You'll be able to see if an area has a Monster for you to track down and kill when you're on the world map. Just scroll over each area and if "Hunter" is listed under the available quests (and not grayed-out), it means there's a monster to kill. There will also be a yellow "!" and, depending on which patch you're playing on, the Hunter icon.

When you're in an area, just open the area map and if there's an object to pick up, it'll show as an icon on the map. You'll need to look for a yellow "!" to actually pick up the quest so you can complete it (it'll be a pile of bones). These are usually either right by where you'll actually find the monster or just next to your camp.

These can be done at any point so long as the area they're located in is open and captured (has a travel point). While you can wait until you finish the story to do these, the gear rewards you get from this can be quite beneficial early on in the game so it's recommended you do them as you go. The list of the monsters and their locations are as follows:

    Coldclaw - Eagle Peaks
    Oreyard Queen - Wreckage Zone
    Bigjaw - Quarry
    Splittooth - Forest Enclave
    Moldfang - The Stronghold
    Spinewretch - Ancient Ruins
    Wendigo - The Gate
    Hauras - Dunes
    Sandshifter - Desolate Fort
Typhon - Canyon of the Grand Obelisk

Each of these will also count as a journal entry towards One for the Books trophy_silver.png.
  • Complete "The Outrider's Legacy".

This is required for Squaretasking trophy_gold.png.

This questline will start in Trench Town. You'll need to speak with Lucy down in the slums and she'll ask you to help out her "friend" in the Wreckage Zone. From there, you'll need to progress through the story to complete the next parts. The main goal is to open up 3 doors within the Outriders bunker in the Quarry, then of course, save the world! As long as you're keeping an eye on your world map and looking out for any of the yellow "!" indicating a new quest for the area, you shouldn't have any trouble getting this done.
  • Complete a side quest.

  • Complete 25 side quests.

  • Complete all side quests.

There are a total of 55 Side Quests to complete, all but one of which will be marked on your map in some way shape or form. The Historian, Wanted and Hunter questlines all have 10 quests each. The Outrider's Legacy questline has 14 so there's 44 already with the other quest-related trophies. All you'll need to look out for is a yellow "!" on your world map to let you know if a new one has appeared. There is one, however, that is not marked on the minimap and is found in the Canyon of the Grand Obelisk (Forgotten Chapel - see below for more info). Each step of the questlines counts as one completed quest towards this trophy. Please do note that in some cases, you'll need to progress with the story before the quest becomes available. The questlines you need to complete are as follows:

    Starts in Rift Town
    A Bad Day
    Pay Back
    Terra Infirma
    Pour One Out

    Starts in The First City
    Endless Dark
    No Place Like Home

    Starts in Eagle Peaks
    Divine Intervention

    The Outrider's Legacy
    A Heart of Gold
    Return Fire
    Life's Treasure

    Starts in the Quarry
    Dying Wish

    Starts in the Forest Enclave
    Predator to Prey

    Unknown Presence

    Starts in Utagark
    Shepherds of Enoch

    Starts at the Desolate Fort
    Big Iron

Starts in the Canyon of the Grand Obelisk
    Turning Point
    Forgotten Chapel

    Starts in Pax City
    Sins of our Fathers

Forgotten Chapel: As stated, this quest is the only one that will not have a map marker or actual quest objective for it until you are just about done with it. When you make your way to the Canyon of the Grand Obelisk, there will be 5 Keystones that are not marked/unrelated to the main objective that you'll need to interact with. Their locations are as follows:

1st Keystone: When you first arrive in the area, head up the first hill and go left at the first set of stairs. The keystone will be glowing blue.

2nd Keystone: After going up the 1st set of stairs, you'll need to defeat a few waves of beasts. Take note of the Venomous Perforos spitting poison from up on a higher ledge. When the beasts have been cleared, make your way up to the ledge the Perforos were on and follow it into a temple. In the middle of the room you enter into will be the Keystone.

3rd Keystone: Story Related. You'll need to hit this one to open up a door to progress forward with the level.

4th Keystone: Story Related. You'll need to hit this one to open up a door to progress forward with the level.

5th Keystone: The 4th Keystone opens up the door to the final area of this level. On the opposite side from where you enter will be another set of stairs leading up. At the top of the stairs is the 5th and final Keystone.

When you press the 5th one, you will automatically pick up the "Forgotten Chapel" side quests which will now put a marker on your map for the next location. Head towards it (if you're going to fast travel, go to Wrecked APC) and walk up to the glowing door.

You'll spew out some dialogue, then the Keystone just to the right of the glowing door will activate. Interact with the Keystone to open up the door and head inside. Interact with the chest in the middle of the room to complete the quest.
  • Kill 3500 enemies.

  • Kill 7500 enemies.

There's a pretty high chance you won't get this trophy by the time you finish the story so you'll need to use Expeditions to grind out the remaining. You can check your progress towards this trophy by going into the Accolades menu and looking under Hunt. The accolade will require 10,000 to complete the highest tier so you'll have a number visual for where you're at and how far you have to go. All enemies count for this trophy, whether they're human, beast, elite or even a boss. If you can kill it, it'll count. Once you've killed your 7,500th enemy, the trophy will unlock.
  • Deal a total of 1,000,000 damage.

It's very likely that this will unlock before you complete the main story of the game. You'll need to deal the damage on one character. The progress doesn't stack across characters. You can check how far you have to go by going into the Accolades menu and selecting Combat. You'll need well over 1 million damage to complete the highest tier of this accolade so at the very least, this will at least give you a number visual for how much you have dealt and how much further you have to go. As soon as you hit 1,000,000, the trophy will unlock.

The progress towards this trophy saves whether you die mid-fight or not. Whatever you kill at any point, even if you have to start a section over, will count towards this.
  • Kill 10 enemies with no more than 2 seconds between each kill.

There's a very good chance you'll get this naturally while playing through the story and it's even more likely that you'll get it as you play through the Expeditions for Hitting the Jackpot trophy_bronze.png. In fact, it's very unlikely you won't get this during an expedition if you managed to not earn it while playing through the story. All of the Classes have an AOE (Area of Effect)-type skill that can kill multiple enemies at once, especially when you reach the endgame.

    Trickster: Cyclone Slice
Devastator: Earthquake, Gravity Leap, Tremor, Boulderdash
Technomancer: Scrapnel, Cryo Turret, Pain Launcher, Tool of Destruction, Blighted Turret
Pyromancer: Heatwave, Thermal Bomb, Overheat, F.A.S.E.R. Beam, Eruption

There are additional skills that you can mod for each class to actually turn them into damaging attacks (for example, you can put a Mod on a Pyromancer so their Ash Blast inflicts damage alongside the interrupt). How you set it up is up to you and your playstyle. Since you can have up to 3 Skills equipped at a time, mix and match your respective classes multi-enemy attacks and don't hesitate to throw a melee in if need be.

If you want to make it even easier on yourself, turn the World Tier down to 1 and play a Tier 1 Expedition. Since you've already completed the game, your gear is more than likely already pretty OP so you'll be able to just smash everything needed within the time required.
  • Kill an enemy afflicted with at least 4 different status effects.

Depending on what class you chose will determine when you can actually go for this trophy. The status effects are the DoTs and debuffs that get placed on enemies when you attack them (Burn, Weakness, Slow, Freeze, etc). You need to have 4 of these active on an enemy when they die. There's a good chance you won't be getting this until late in the game and by that time, your attacks should be well too powerful to get this on a scrub enemy. Your goal should be to do this on an Elite since they have more health, allowing you to stack the effects on them as needed.

If your weapon doesn't have a/any status effect mod/s on it, you'll want to alter it so it does (see Inventor's Almanac trophy_silver.png for more info regarding Mods). You want this effect to be separate from whatever your skills will place on the enemy. For instance, a pyromancer's skills will usually put "Ash" or "Burn" on the enemy so you want your weapon to place Weakness, Frozen, Slow etc. If you can, you want to find a weapon that already has a status effect in one slot, then mod the other slot with an additional effect. Worst case, you can place an effect on your main weapon, secondary weapon and side arm, then just switch through your guns during the fight. If you haven't earned this by the time you finished the story, you can use the expeditions since those will spawn a lot of Elites for you to practice on. Be aware that while 4 icons might appear on the healthbar of the enemy you're fighting, you need to make sure their images are all different. A skill that causes "Burn" and a weapon that causes "Burn" will appear as two effects but since they are not unique, they'll only count as one towards this trophy. The different effects you can have are as follows:
    • Ash
    • Bleed
    • Burn
    • Exposed
    • Freeze
    • Immobilize
    • Marked
    • Slow
    • Toxic
    • Vulnerable
    • Weakness

Once you have defeated an enemy with 4 unique effects active, the trophy will unlock.
  • Kill 5 Elites using skills only.

This one is pretty straightforward but you'll need to be careful with it depending on what class you're playing. Elites are the big guys with a skull icon that have more health and hit harder than the scrub enemies. You need to kill them with your skills and your skills only. No actual physical weapons can be involved. Along with that, you need to make sure they don't get hit by any explosions, be it an explosive barrel or an unfortunate exploding enemy that was too close to them. You will come across far more than 5 Elites as you play through the story and even more when you have to play the Expeditions for Hitting the Jackpot trophy_bronze.png so just be sure to be mindful of them when you see them and you should have this in no time.

If you find your skills aren't doing the damage you're hoping for, be sure to Mod your gear/weapons to enhance the skills you have equipped. Skills that require the use of a weapon (Pyromancer's Volcanic Rounds, Technomancer's Blighted Rounds and the Trickster's Twisted Rounds) should not be used for this since they do require you to still use your weapon. While they are "skills", the game will read them as just a general weapon shot.
  • Kill 1000 enemies in Expeditions.

The Expeditions will open up once you've completed the story. These kills will also count for Gravedigger's BFF trophy_gold.png should you still be short on that trophy by the time you start this one. Each Expedition will have roughly 150-250 enemies, depending on the Tier you're playing on. As long as you succeed each time, you should get this within about 6-7 expeditions if you're playing solo. If you're playing with a group, only the final kills you deal will count towards the trophy so it may take a little bit longer to get (but really, not that long at all). You can check your progress towards this trophy by going to the Accolades menu and checking under "Hunt". Once you've killed your 1,000th enemy, the trophy will unlock.
  • Use a skill enhanced by 4 different mods.

You'll need to dismantle weapons/gear to get the 4 unique mods required for this trophy (see Inventor's Almanac trophy_silver.png for more info on Mods). These Mods can only be placed on Armor. You don't need to worry about different tiers of Mods, Tier 1 will cover everything you need. When you have 4 unique Mods of a skill, equip the Mods onto 4 separate pieces of gear. Make sure the skill they pertain to is equipped, then head out into the world and start a fight with an enemy. Use the skill and because there are 4 separate Mods enhancing it, the trophy will unlock.

  • Kill a total of 50 enemies with any Melee skill.

It might just be the Pyromancer line but the game didn't actually say how to melee an enemy until about midway through the story so for those who need it, your melee attack is r3.png. As the trophy states, you just need to kill 50 enemies with your melee attack. It's best to do this on beast enemies since they tend to come in waves of 3 and not too far into the game, you'll be able to start one-shotting them with your melee attack. This should unlock well before you even come close to finishing the story but if it doesn't, you can easily grind these out in the Expeditions. You can check your progress towards this trophy by going to the Accolade menu and checking under Combat.

Note that the melee attacks do put a status effect on the enemies but the actual physical melee hit must be the thing that kills them, not the effect.
  • Reach character level 10.

  • Reach character level 30.

How fast you level while playing will depend on if you decide to do the side quests alongside the story or after you completed the main questline. The storyline and side quests will get you pretty close the Level 30, though if you had to replay anything, there's a chance it'll get you the full 30 need for the trophy. You'll need to complete Expeditions after you complete the story for Hitting the Jackpot trophy_bronze.png so if you don't reach 30 through the main/side quests, you'll definitely get it while going for that trophy.

Your World Tier will have an effect on your leveling speed as well since the higher tier you're playing on, the more, stronger enemies you'll be going up against. Don't force a higher tier on yourself so you're struggling. Just play at the one you're most comfortable on. Even if you stick to Tier 1 the entire time, you'll reach Level 30 by the time you're done with the Expeditions and your class Accolades.
  • Unlock a class tree node.

This will unlock when you reach Level 5. You'll earn 1 Skill Point that you can spend in your class tree. Only 3 slots are available at 1st so just spend it whichever one you fancy and when you do, the trophy will unlock. There is a chance this will unlock as soon as you reach Level 5 and the Skill Tree opens up but some people have reported that they had to actually spend the point to get it to unlock (myself included).
  • Master a branch of the class tree for any class.

You'll need 13 Class Points to reach the end of a branch in your skill tree but you'll have 20 total by the time you reach the level cap of 30. The branch you master will be up to you and your play style. If you've spent too many points and don't have enough to reach the end of a branch, you can reset them by going to your Class menu and holding down triangle.png. When they're reset, just be sure to spend 13 to get you to the end of any available branch.
  • Sell 300 items.

You want to do this alongside One Man's Junk... trophy_bronze.png and, more importantly, Inventor's Almanac trophy_silver.png. Selling items is easy enough, you just need to find any vendor, hit r1.png/l1.png to get to the sell tab and choose anything you don't need. You can select multiple items by hovering over each and hitting r3.png to "mark" them, then holding cross.png to sell everything marked in one go. You'll pick up well over 300 items as you play through the story, complete side quests and work on the expeditions for Hitting the Jackpot trophy_bronze.png so there will be plenty of opportunities to get this. You can check your progress towards this trophy by going into the Accolade menu and going to Item Management. You need to sell well more than 300 items to unlock the highest tier of this accolade so this will at least give you a number visual of how many items you've sold/how many more you have to go. Once you've sold your 300th item, the trophy will unlock.

Important Note: Collecting Mods is far more important than dismantling or selling items so be sure to check which Mods you have or have not unlocked before selling anything. If it can get you a new Mod for Inventor's Almanac trophy_silver.png, do not sell it!
  • Dismantle 300 items.

You can Dismantle gear at any time via the inventory menu but you won't be able to actually Mod items until you complete the main story quest in The First City and have rescued Dr. Zahedi. When you have access to him, talk to him and choose "I'd like to Mod...". With the Mod or Inventory menu open, you can select one or multiple items with r3.png, then hold triangle.png to dismantle it/them into parts. You'll need to do this to actually collect Mods for Inventor's Almanac trophy_silver.png so there's a chance this will most likely unlock naturally.

As a rule of thumb, collecting Mods is far more important than selling items. So before you sell any item, check the Mods the gear has to see if you're missing it/them. If you are, dismantle it so you can collect them. If you already have it/them, you can sell or dismantle the item (up to you and what trophies you still need).
  • Use crafting to improve the rarity of 15 items.

It's highly recommended you get this trophy with Green/Unusual gear. Gear that is Blue/Rare and Purple/Epic will cost you Shards to improve the rating and you'll want to save those for when you actually need them for something outside of a trophy.

After you've rescued Dr. Zahedi the 1st time, he'll become available in your camp. Speak with him and choose the option to Mod your gear. Select an item from the left side (again, preferably a green one), then select "Improve Rarity" on the right. As long as the item is of green value or lower, the armor will cost leather and the weapons will cost iron. When you've done this to 15 items, the trophy will unlock.

If you've completed the game and did not improve enough items, you're not going to find any white or green items in the Expeditions. You'll need to replay any story or side quests and collect them as you normally would. For that reason, just be sure that before you dismantle or sell an item, you improve the rarity beforehand if you can.
  • Use crafting to replace 10 item mods.

This should unlock naturally for you so long as you're modding your gear based on the current skills you have equipped. You'll only be able to mod gear after you've rescued Dr. Zahedi and he becomes available in your camp. Talk with him and choose the "I want to mod my gear" option. From here, select any item from the left side (preferably one you actually have equipped) and then choose "Mod Gear" on the right. There are 3 Tiers of mods but if you're going based on your skills, you'll only need the first tier. The mods will cost Leather for armor and Iron for weapons. You can only Mod on slot on a weapon (so long as it's of Rare/Blue value at least). When you've found a Mod you want, choose which slot you want it to go in, then hit "MOD SLOT" on the bottom right. Do this to 10 items and the trophy will unlock.

You should absolutely be changing out your Mods when you change out your skills. With each class having 8 skills and 5 possible armor mods to place, you should get this without putting in much of any effort.
  • Unlock 125 unique weapon and armor mods for crafting.

As stated under the Selling and Dismantling trophies (Hard Bargainer trophy_bronze.png and One Man's Junk... trophy_bronze.png), dismantling for Mods should take priority over selling items. There are 406 Mods available in the game but you'll need to play through on all 4 Classes to get those. You'll get more than the 125 required for this trophy playing on just one. You can check your progress towards this trophy by going to the Accolade menu and checking under Item Management.

Only items that are of blue/rare quality or higher will have Mods that you can dismantle for. When you're looking at an item, you can tell if you have the Mod already or not as there will be a grid next to it.

Using the image above as the example, the "Pants on Fire" Mod has already been collected but the "Martial Arts" Mod has not since it's missing the grid icon. Whenever you're about to sell an item, be sure to check for this icon beforehand. If you need the mod, dismantle it. If you don't, by all means sell it if you need the money. You won't get to 125 until pretty well into the game but as soon as you've unlocked your 125th, the trophy will unlock. The 125 includes both weapon and armor mods of any tier (I, II or III).
  • Equip a legendary item.

The Legendary items are the ones with the orange backdrop on their item card. These are usually pretty powerful items that should replace your Epic/Purple or Rare/Blue (unless they're lower level, of course). The higher World Tier you play on, the higher chance you have of getting a Legendary item to randomly drop but if you don't wish to play on a higher tier, the side quest "The Outriders Legacy" will reward you with a Legendary item. You just need to be sure to equip it before you sell or dismantle it (should you not want to keep it). If you want to grind out Expeditions after you've completed the story, Tiago sells Legendary items that cost Drop Pod Resources. Fair warning though, these items require a lot of resources to purchase so your best bet is to get a world drop.

  • Equip a character with epic or legendary items only.

It's very likely you'll get this trophy with Epics/Purples versus Legendary/Orange items, since the Epics will start to drop off Elites pretty often towards the middle of the story. You can also upgrade items from Rare/Blue to Epic in the Mod menu but you can't mod Epics up to Legendary. There are 8 slots that you'll need to equip in either all purple (Epic) or all orange (Legendary or a mix of both. They are as follows:
    • Main Weapon
    • Secondary Weapon
    • Side Arm
    • Helm
    • Chestpiece
    • Leggings
    • Boots
    • Gloves

As you play through the game, just be sure to keep at least one epic/legendary for each slot. When you have one of each, switch out all your gear so you're fully equipped in purple/orange and the trophy will unlock. You don't actually need to fight or kill anything with the gear, you just need to put it on. If your epic/legendary stuff isn't up to par because you've upgraded like a madman, be sure to switch your gear back out before continuing forward with the story (or whatever it was you were doing before switching out your gear). You should most definitely be in at least full epic gear by the time you reach the end game.
  • Mine ore from a deposit 30 times.

As you're traveling around, every now and then you'll notice a blue glowing substance on rock walls that you can collect. These are ore deposits.

There are well more than 30 to be found throughout the game and if you return to area you previously left, the deposits will refill, allowing you to harvest them again. Harvest ore 30 times and you'll earn yourself this trophy.
  • Fill in 150 journal pages.

  • Fill in 300 journal pages.

There are a grand total of 339 journal pages to collect in the game but you luckily will only need 300 for this trophy, giving you some room to miss a few here and there. The majority of these will be picked up automatically through general story progression and completing the side quests for Squaretasking trophy_gold.png. 92 can be picked up in the open world and the rest will be from the Expeditions. Below is a list of all the pages you'll pick up in the open world. They'll for the most part be pretty straightforward to find based on the map but if they're a little bit more hidden, an image will be provided so you can narrow it down. They will appear in-game as pieces of paper that are floating and glowing blue.

    Rift Town (11):

    • 1: Hounds Note - On a box down the 1st set of stairs, just behind two guys looking down over the railing.
    • 2: Flores Flight Reports - Just next to a canister-like object inside the main "shop" area.
    • 3: The Landing: Just to the left of the door you exit to leave the Camp area.
    • 4: Textile Manufacturing - To the left of the door you exit to leave the Camp area, on some shelves on the far side of the room.
    • 5: The relocation - Just to the left of the Weapons dealer in the shop area.
    • 6: Shira's Journal: Downstairs from Shira's Office (go past her office).
    • 7: Eva's Letter: In the "A Bad Day" Quest Area, it's inside a container just to the left of a door you need to unlock. There is an ammo box just to the right of it
    • 8: Barker's Journal - As soon as you finish the "A Bad Day" side quest, you'll be in Mr. Lopez's room. Before you leave, the page will be on a table.
    • 9: Feeding the Colony - When you leave the camp, immediately to the left will be some stairs. At the top of the stairs is the page.
    • 10: The Coming End - Just after the first fast travel point, there will be an ammo box among some rubble from a building. Just behind the box is the page.
    • 11: Reiner's Journal - On a crate in the room where you fight Reiner.

The First City (18 - while the number ticker shows 18, there are only 17 locations. One of the bastards counts as 2 but there are multiple where you pick up 2 so as long as you pick up all "17", you'll get them all):

    • 1: Powering the Cryopods - When you first start in this area, you'll make your way up a grassy hill before entering a small town-like area. Before going inside, the page is going to be on a body in the grass, just the left of the "town" entrance.
    • 2: Solar Panels - After you cross the bridge and make your way up the large anomaly hill, you'll be an open area with some cement barricades where a handful of enemies will spawn. The page is just next to one of these barriers before you go through the next gate. It's by one of the sparky cylinders.
    • 3: Formation of the Outriders - After the fast travel point you reach where the road splits up towards a Historian Side Quest item and left for story progression, take the left path and as you're going down the hill, the page will be on the right just next to a body.
    • 4: The Outriders Revamped: When you reach the area with the snipers and the gallows, just before you climb up and over the scaffolding the snipers are perched on, the page will be inside a building with some fenced up windows.
    • 5: Landmark: Radio Tower - Shortly after the previous page, you'll have to make your way through a small building and back outside, then up a hill to the left. The page is at the top of the hill, next to a fence, between two metal structures.
    • 6: Disbanded - When you reach the large tree with the bodies, the page will be on the ground just in front of it.
    • 7: Setting up the Colony - After the previous page, you'll come to an area where you have to fight through a few waves of Perforos (this is a decent location to go for Misfortune Loves Company trophy_bronze.png if you haven't earned it yet). Before breaking through the white rubble, go to the far left side of this area and just next to a red and white trailer, up on a metal walkway, will be the page.
    • 8: Anomaly Storm & The First Anomaly Storm - Just to the left of the breakable white barrier (same one as above), inside a container.
    • 9: Jane Colm's Journal - In the area where you have to lower the bridge after defeating a few waves of Perforos, go up the last hill on the right (just before the bridge) and at the top, underneath a scaffolding, will be the page in the grass.
    • 10: The Storm's Aftermath: On the ground, just to the left of the box you have to interact with to lower the bridge.
    • 11: Exiles - Before you cross the bridge, climb up to the top of the tower just on the right side of the bridge to find the page.
    • 12: First Citizens - Keep progressing forward and you'll eventually get a sub-quest to activate the crane. From the valve you have to turn, go back down one set of stairs and at the far end of this raised walkway will be the page.
    • 13: Anna McKellan's Journal - This is picked up during the "No Place Like Home" side quest. When you reach the old man's home (and clear it), this page will be in the home with the word "THIEF" written on the side of it.
    • 14: Cryopods - Picked up during the "Endless Dark" side quest. It'll be inside the medical lab.
    • 15: Transfer Order & Nathan Scurlock - Picked up during the "Endless Dark" side quest. It'll be inside the medical lab.
    • 16: Mass Awakening - Picked up during the "Endless Dark" side quest. In the last outside/open area before you enter the lab with the Cryopods, the page will be on the ground just to the left of the entrance to the lab.
    • 17: Report on the Fungus & ECA Research Report - Picked up during the "Endless Dark" side quest. It'll be inside the darkroom with the Cryopods at the end of the quest.

    Eagle Peak (10)

    • 1: Flores Engine Report - In your basecamp, on the opposite side of the way you move forward to progress the story.
    • 2: The Second Anomaly Storm - When you take the lift down to progress the start of the story-related quests, you'll come to an area where a few enemies will spawn. When they're down, you'll need to interact with a gate to open it up. Before doing so, climb up to the top of the structure just in front of the gate and there will be a small camp area with the page.
    • 3: A Foreign Agent - After progressing the story a little bit, you'll get a sub-quest to unlock a door. When you do, there will be a fast travel point just on the other side. To the right of the travel point, tucked away in a small hidden area, is a camp with a crate and the page next to it.
    • 4: Locked In - Progress the story forward some more and you'll make your way through a handful of enemies before you reach a building on top of a hill. Go inside and the page will be sitting on a table.
    • 5: Jocelyn Dunham's Journal - After you take the next lift down to a new area, you'll make your way through some enemies and eventually come to a building with a large solar panel in front of it. Before going inside. there is another building to the right (near a row of a few more solar panels) with some stairs that you can take to get inside. The page will be on the ground in the corner.
    • 6: Tracing the Signal - Go inside the building the solar panel in front of it (to progress the story) and before you go out through the door on the other side, the page will be tucked in a corner to the left.
    • 7-10: Alchemist's Log x4 - These will all be part of "The Scientific Method" side quest and will all be shown as quest markers on your map so you can't complete that quest without picking these up.

    Deadrock Pass (4):

    • 1: Alastair Cullen's Journal - Inside your camp, on the opposite side to progress the story forward, tucked in the very back corner.
    • 2: The Crisis - While still in your camp, before crossing the first bridge, go inside a container on the right and the page will be on the ground.
    • 3: The Great Extinction - Just to the right of the previous container are some stairs. Go up them and then turn around to the left. The page will be near the end of the short walkway.
    • 4: A Joint Effort - Picked up during the side quest "A Free Market". When you enter the quest area, you'll come to a fast travel point. Just behind this will be a short hidden pathway leading to the page. If you're facing the way forward to progress with the quest, it'll be on the left side.

    Trench Town (5):

    • 1: Hanged Man's Letter & World in Anarchy - Just next to the camp area, in a room with some shelves and tires (mostly tires). It'll be on the back left shelf.
    • 2: Lucy's Private Letter - On the crate just behind Lucy. This is incredibly hard to miss as you'll need to talk to her to pick up a side quest required for Squaretasking trophy_gold.png
    • 3: The Formation of the Insurgents - Go past the entrance to the bar and follow the path as it goes left. It'll be on the left side, on a table in a small structure.
    • 4: Children of Enoch - On a body just in front of the large doors.
    • 5: Peace Negotiations - Cross the bridge going opposite of the bar and turn right towards a group of people watching a fight. Make a hard right when you get to them and the page will be at the end of the small walkway (it'll be a dead end).

    Wreckage Zone (7):

    • 1: Greybeard's Journal - As you make your way through Clearwater Springs (it'll be the left path in the first tunnel you enter into), you eventually come to a fast travel point and the bones you need to interact with to pick up the Hunter quest in this area. Continue forward and the path will split (left will take you to the Hunter area and right will progress the story). Go right and just on the left side by some rocks will be the page.
    • 2: Bruno Nyberg - When you fast travel back to camp, go back through the starting tunnel and this time turn right (towards a dead end). The page will be on the ground at the end of the tunnel.
    • 3: The First Altered - As you make your way through the Polluted Outpost, go left of the gate leading to the next area and follow the path all the way down. The page will be on the ground on the left. There will also be a crate and an ore node in this same area, just as a reference.
    • 4: Power Struggle - Go through the gate to progress the story forward from the previous page and you'll come to a fast travel point. Just behind the flag, on the ground next to a body, is the page.
    • 5: Building the New World - Progress forward with the story and you'll eventually enter a building where you need to follow a wire on the ground. In the second actual room you enter (not the small hallway), the page will be on the ground in the back left.
    • 6: Seth - This entry is story-related. You'll automatically pick it up when you clear the path while in the Irradiated Shores.
    • 7: A Letter to You, From Seth & Seth's Journal: On the ground, just below Seth's body when you come across him.

    The Quarry (10):

    • 1: State of Emergency - When you first start this section, you'll need to clear the swamp so your crew can make camp. Keep going until you reach your first fast travel point. There will be a door you need to enter that takes you to "The Outpost". Ignore this and head towards the large door (if it's closed, it'll be a dead-end, if you've already completed this part, it'll be open). On the right side just before the door will be the page.
    • 2: Victor Corrigan's Journal - When your crew has made camp, it'll be on the table just to the left of Channa.
    • 3: The Floating City - Just next to the camp, take the path just behind Zahedi (it'll be opposite of story progression) and there will be a wooden ramp leading up on the left side. About halfway up this ramp will be the page.
    • 4: Boris Morrison's Journal (#1) - This will be in the side quest area for "The Outrider's Legacy" Clear the path at the top of the wooden ramp from #3 (leads to 'Nesting Grounds'). Make your way through the enemies (if you haven't already cleared them) and just before the gate you go through to actually reach the hatch, on the ground on the right will be the page. It's just next to a flaming barrel.
    • 5-8: Sergio Acosta's Journal, Sarah Tanner's Journal, Boris Morrison's Journal (#2), The Nuke - These are all found inside the Outrider's Hatch. Each door in the hatch will open up as you pick up keys throughout the game. The 1st door you can find Sergio's, the 2nd door has Sarah's and the last two are picked up when you open the 3rd door.
    • 9: Forest Expeditions - Across from where Jakub/Channa and Zahedi are sitting in the camp is a large ramp leading down into the Quarry. When you get to the bottom, immediately turn right and near some sandbags and tires will be the page on the ground.
    • 10: Caraval Disaster - In the same area as #9, when you reach the bottom of the large ramp leading from camp, this time go left and all the way up a large metal staircase. Turn left at the top and on the ground on the right will be a body with the page next to it.

    Forest Enclave (5):

    • 1: Enoch Biodiversity Report - Inside the camp. Run just past where Jakub/Channa is sitting (to his right) and the page will be on the ground on the left side.
    • 2: The Takeoff - On the ground just next to Mercer Acosta, inside the Enclave Camp (you need to speak with him to get a side quest).
    • 3: Mercer Acosta’s Journal - Just next to the previous page, behind Mercer, on the outside of his little camp area.
    • 4: Juno's Journal - From the previous two pages, progress forward towards the gate that leads to the Enclave Outpost. Before you reach it, there will be a set of stairs leading up to a slightly higher area on the left. The page will be just next to an enclave member.
    • 5: Sergio Acosta's Note - This will be in the side quest area for "The Outrider's Legacy". With the quest active, you'll get a map marker to find his (Sergio Acosta's) body. The page is in a small brown box just by the body.

    The Stronghold (8):

    • 1: Zahedi Report - Inside the camp. One a table just to the left of where Channa/Jakub is standing.
    • 2: Forest Enclave Established - Go towards the main story marker ("Save Zahedi") and you almost immediately come to an area with a large truck sitting right in front of you. To the left of the truck, on a red blanket of sorts, will be the page on the ground.
    • 3: Ticket to the Flores - After you rescue August, you'll need to clear out another camp of enemies before you can progress forward. When they're all gone, you'll come to a fast travel point. Keep going forward and you'll have to take out a named enemy. When you go, an area-objective (blue gear/circle) will appear telling you to open the gate. Before you do, to the right of the gate are some stairs and to the right of those is a building. Go inside and the page will be on a table on the right.
    • 4: Kang's Journal - You'll need to pick up the wanted poster (it's just next to the valve you turn to open the gate mentioned in #3) so the "Maneater" area opens up. When you have access to it, head towards it (Drenched Caverns) and continue forward until you get the area objective to lower the bridge (it'll be after you have to clear the caverns). Make your way towards the blue gear/circle and right before you reach, the page will be on the left side, just next to some barrels.
    • 5-8: Gabriel's Note, Kang's Fighter Note and Daisy Bee's Note & Atta's Journal - These are all quest objectives of the side quest "Life's Treasures". You can pick up that quest after you've returned to Trench Town the second time. There are 4 people you need to find which will be marked on your minimap. When you interact with each of these, you'll pick up a new journal page.

    Ancient Ruins (1):
    • 1. Tiago's Journal - No map required for this one. It's in the Camp, on the ground just to the left of Tiago.

The Gate (2):  No map needed. These are both in the same area as "The Outrider's Legacy" quest when it brings you here (Horrific Sculpture)
    • 1: Sarah Tanner's Journal - As you progress through "The Outrider's Legacy" questline, you'll eventually find yourself in The Gate looking for Sarah Tanner's body. Her body will be marked on the map as a quest objective. Just to the left of her, in front of a tent, will be the page.
    • 2: Enclave's Smuggler Report - In the same area as the previous page. On the opposite side of the area, just to the right of a crate (it'll be a little bit up some stairs).

    Dunes (1):
    • 1: Bailey's Journal - No map required for this one. It's in the Camp, on a crate just to the left of Jakub/Channa.

    Utargak (0)
    Desolate Fort (0)

Canyon of the Grand Obelisk (4):
    • 1-2/4: The Pax (1) & Meeting the Natives, The Pax (2), The Hunt and Metamorphosis - No map needed. While the world map shows there are only 2 in this area, there are actually going to be 4. You'll pick up all of these as quest objectives for the "Sacrifice" main questline.

    Outrider's Camp (1):
    • 1: Monroy's Journal - No map required. It's in the Camp, on a crate just to the left of Channa.

    Pax City (1):
    • 1: The Research - No map needed. This can be found in the same area where you complete the side quest "Sin of our Fathers" (Colosseum Plaza). When you're in the area, there will be a large statue in the middle. Stand so it's facing you. The page will be on the ground, next to the wall back behind it. If you miss it on your first run through that quest, you'll need to pick it up again before the area will become available. Just interact with the decrepit body just in front of the doors leading to the Plaza.

    The Caravel (4):

    • 1: Genocide - When you first enter the area, you'll follow some rails/tracks up a hill covered in sand. Near the top of the hill is a wooden fence. The page is just next to this.
    • 2: Nikolai Galyatkin's Journal - Progress forward towards the main objective and you'll eventually reach a closed gate that you need to open with a valve (there will be a fast travel point directly on the other side of this gate). On the ground to the left of the valve you need to turn is the page.
    • 3: Signal Broadcast - Just after the fast travel point mentioned in #1. It's tucked in a corner with a body just below a broken wall.
    • 4: The Caravel Incident - When you reach the next fast travel point (between Buried Colony and The Caravel), it'll be to the left of the travel point (if you're facing the doors leading to the Caravel), on top of some crates.
  • Complete the highest tier of 4 class-related Accolades for any class.

  • Complete all class-related Accolades for any class.

You'll unlock Classy trophy_bronze.png as you go for this trophy. There are 42 Accolades to complete for each class. 8 are split into 5 Tiers each and are all related to your skills. The remaining 2 are for completing (4) Tier 5 accolades and then, of course, all 8, which will also get you this trophy. These can be a bit of a grind, especially if one of your skills has an "interrupt" effect (see below for more info). Be sure to check on your progress towards these now and then so you can switch out your skills when each accolade is complete.

The Skills that require either damage, hits or kills won't be too crazy to do since you'll be fighting a ton of enemies anyways. The interrupt skills, however, are where you'll find the grind. An interrupt effect can only be placed on an enemy if/when they are casting an attack, which of course, not all enemies will do. All Elites will do this as well as the Boss' within the story. You'll know when they're casting an attack as when there is a yellow bar above their health bar. For that reason, it's recommended you wait until you unlock the Expeditions after you've completed the Story to work on those skill accolades. The Expeditions have a plethora of Elites within them that you can grind these skills out on. It'll still take a bit of time but it'll go by much quicker versus if you worked on them during the Story.

Just keep going at it and once you've completed all the Skills through Tier 5, you'll have completed all 42 Accolades and this trophy will unlock.
  • Reach Accolade level 10.

  • Reach Accolade level 20.

You'll need a grand total of 210 Accolade points to reach Level 20. A Tier 1 completion grants 1 point, Tier 2 grants 2 points, Tier 3 grants 3 points, etc. The 1st 16 levels will require 10 points each and the remaining 4 will require 15 each. You will get a majority of these points through natural gameplay and while going for other trophies. Completing the main storyline will net you 4 points, completing all of the side quests will net you 21 points and completing all of your class accolades for Outrider, First Class trophy_silver.png will net you 122 points. From there, you'll also gain points from crafting, selling and dismantling, all of which are also trophy-related. A pretty decent way to get more is through weapon masteries. Just keep switching out your weapons as you complete each accolade and you can grind this out with little extra effort. Once you've reached level 20, the trophy will unlock.
