Introduction:

OlliOlli World is the third game in Roll7's skateboarding franchise, and easily its biggest and best. The fast-paced, arcade action that made the first two games so enjoyable is here, with considerable additions to the gameplay, along with a variety of game modes that will keep you busy for as long as you want to keep coming back. This platinum will be no walk in the park, but it's the kind of game where you'll inevitably find yourself getting better the more you play, no matter how hopeless some of the later challenges may initially seem. Keep at it and this hard-earned platinum will be yours.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Complete the game
Your best bet is to just make your way through the game, completing challenges as you see fit, and getting comfortable with the game mechanics. The learning curve jumps considerably once you get to the fourth district, but by that point you should be able to go back and comfortably finish anything you missed in earlier districts. Keep in mind you don't have to complete 100% of the challenges and local heroes for the platinum, just enough for the respective trophies.

By the end of this step, you will have earned:

Step 2: Challenge clean up, being Radysus Challenges, misc. trophy clean up
This will likely be the most difficult part of your platinum, or at least the offline portion of the platinum. Using the challenge videos as guides should make things considerably easier.

By the end of this step you will have earned:

Step 3: Leagues
Getting the top score for the day will probably require considerable mastery of the game's various game mechanics and an understanding of how to maximize your combo, so I suggest leaving this until the end. If you find yourself having trouble and are being paired with the same people over and over, hang back for a day or two and don't let yourself be promoted, which will give you guaranteed new people to play against.

By the end of this step, you will have earned:

55 trophies ( 17  32  3  )

  • Collect all other Trophies

Congratulations on a very challenging platinum.
  • Finish the main path of Sunshine Valley and meet Technicolas

Sunshine Valley is the first district in the game, and acts as an introduction for a lot of the game's mechanics. After beating the last level and meeting the Skate God, you'll unlock this trophy. Below is a video of my method for completing Sunshine Valley's challenges:

  • Finish the main path of Cloverbrook and meet Flora

Cloverbrook is the second district in the game, and many of its levels will teach you how to perform wallrides. After beating the last level and meeting the Skate God, the trophy will unlock. Below is a video of my method for completing Cloverbrook's challenges:

  • Finish the main path of Burntrock and meet The Mirage

Burntrock is the third district in the game, and it introduces smash grabbing as a mechanic. Once you complete the final level and meet the Skate God, the trophy will unlock. Below is a video of my method for completing Burntrock's challenges:

  • Finish the main path of Sketchside and meet Hazard Queen

Sketchside is the fourth district in the game, and the first real difficulty spike, requiring you to start mastering combos and advanced tricks. Once you complete the final level and meet the Skate God, the trophy will unlock. Below is a video of my method for completing Sketchside's challenges:

  • Finish the main path of Los Vulgas and meet Radysus

Los Vulgas is the fifth and final district in the game, and will require being very comfortable with all the game's mechanics to complete. Once you beat the final level and meet the Skate God, the trophy will unlock. Below is a video of my method for completing Los Vulgas' challenges:

  • Complete 10 Challenges

  • Complete 50 Challenges

  • Complete 100 Challenges

There are three challenges in every level (not including side quests) which typically consist of grabbing collectibles or doing certain objectives within a level as part of a combo. See the level completion trophies for videos of all of the challenges along with my method for completing them.
  • Complete a Mastery

  • Fully complete a set of Masteries for any Skate God

  • Fully complete all Masteries

Each of the five Skate Gods have a list of Masteries that are unlocked after finishing each district, but for the purposes of this trophy, you only need to worry about the first four. Each list is available to view from the main menu after unlocking each Skate God, and typically consists of doing a game mechanic like grabs, spins or grinds thousands of times, and most of them will be complete by the time you reach the end of the game.
  • Achieve 1,000 Perfect Landings

A Perfect Landing occurs when you press cross.png the moment you land on the ground. You'll know you've done it correctly when a green Perfect message appears. There will be an in-game tutorial for this during your career mode, but you can get started on this trophy at any point during your playthrough.
  • Achieve 1,000 Perfect Grinds

A Perfect Grind occurs when you move the left analog stick in any direction to initiate a grind at the exact moment you make contact with whatever you're grinding. You'll know you've done it correctly when a green Perfect message appears. Over the course of your playthrough you'll undoubtedly earn this trophy many times over.
  • Achieve 500 Perfect Manuals

A Perfect Manual occurs when you press cross.png along with either left or right with the left analog stick to initiate a manual at the exact moment you make contact with the ground from a jump. You'll know you've done it correctly when a green Perfect message appears.
  • Achieve 500 Tweaked Grabs

A Tweaked Grab occurs when you press and hold the right analog stick in any direction in the air to initiate a grab, and continue to hold that direction until you see a white sparkly thing appear next to your character, and the grab name at the top of the screen includes the word Tweaked. There's an in-game tutorial for this late in the game, but once you get used to doing it, this will become second nature, and it's a great way of increasing your score multiplier during combos.
  • Achieve 500 Grind Switches

A Grind Switch occurs when, while grinding, you move the left analog stick in a different direction from how you started the grind, and press cross.png. If done correctly, your character will transition to a different grind without the need to ollie. The Tricktionary in the pause menu will list each Grind Switch you can do depending on the direction you're facing while grinding, but I found it easier to just move the left analog stick around, pressing cross.png until a switch happens.

One thing to note is that Special Grinds, which are done using the right analog stick, don't seem to count towards this, so if the game ever asks for a Grind Switch, make sure to use the left stick and cross.png.
  • Achieve 500 Late Tricks

Late Tricks are arguably the most difficult and awkward type of trick to pull off, and one of the last things you'll be given a tutorial for in-game. To do a Late Trick, once you're in the air, hold down circle.png and do the input for any flip trick before hitting the ground (technically any trick should work, but I found advanced tricks a lot more consistent).
  • Achieve a total of 180,000 degrees of rotation

Once you start incorporating spinning into your combos by using l2.png or r2.png, this trophy will unlock long before you reach the end of the game.
  • Achieve a total of 600 seconds air time

As part of playing through the game and completing challenges, you'll have this trophy long before finishing the game.
  • Beat all Sidequests

There are two side quests per world, and they appear on your map as pink diamonds. They're typically unlocked by finding a character within other levels, but if you're working on the challenges as you play, you'll undoubtedly unlock all of these as you go.

The side quests range from score-related challenges, to completing a series of objectives, or in the case of Grizzly Heights, racing a bear that will quickly become your worst nightmare. Included below is a video showing my method for completing each of these levels, earning you the trophy:

  • Perform one of every Trick

A list of every trick in the game can be found in the pause menu, under Tricktionary. Over the course of your playthrough, you'll almost certainly do every basic trick along with many, if not all of the advanced tricks, but if you wait until you've completed the game's five worlds, you shouldn't need long to finish this off. Simply load up an early level and begin working through the list of special and advanced tricks (they can be done at any time), and if you still don't have the trophy, make your way to a rail and go through the list of grinds until the trophy unlocks.
  • Get promoted in Leagues

The League system can be found on the same small island on the far right side of the map, alongside the Gnarvana Portal. It should unlock after completing the first world, and after selecting it, you'll be added to a group, where you'll compete with up to nine other players to get the top score within a 24 hour period. If you do well enough, within the first couple of days you'll be promoted to a new rank, unlocking the trophy.
  • Win a League group

This is potentially one of the hardest trophies in the game, depending on your skill level and the luck you have with the league groups you end up in. In order to earn this trophy, you'll need to join a league group (see Pro-motion trophy_bronze.png) and have the top score by the time the league resets. Having tried this for multiple days and getting the same two or three people in groups who are able to get absurdly high scores, my advice is to wait until you're comfortable getting very high combos (you'll need to make liberal use of Grind Tweaks and Grind Switches here) before entering a league group. That way you should hypothetically be starting with other new players, giving you the best chance of getting the top score.
  • Finish any Optional level with all Perfect Grinds and Landings

The optional levels in question are the blue triangles that appear on the map after unlocking them. There are in-game tutorials that explain Perfect Grinds and Perfect Landings, but basically you want to press cross.png for a landing or the left stick in any direction for a grind, exactly at the moment you make contact with the rail or ground. I found that the easiest level to do this on is Hidden Hills in Cloverbrook, because it's a lot of straight lines with only a few sections with quick, short grinds. Keep in mind that even if you drop off of a platform instead of an ollie, you'll need to still hit cross.png to earn the trophy.
  • Fully complete a District

The game is broken up into five districts, and for this trophy you will need to complete every level in a district, including the side quests and optional levels. You don't need to complete every challenge in a district for this trophy.
  • Slam for the very first time

Slamming is what OlliOlli World calls bailing, so needless to say this is a trophy you won't have to try to get.
  • Complete a level in one Combo

This trophy will be inevitable by the time you finish the game, but you can start working on this as soon as you get comfortable with manuals. Just remember that you can only manual three times in a row, a fourth manual attempt will automatically end your combo. To avoid this, you'll need to grind or wallride, essentially resetting your manual count
  • Get your first Combo over 1,000,000 points

This will seem incredibly daunting when you first start the game, but it isn't nearly as difficult as it sounds. By the time you reach the 4th world in the game, several levels will have score requirements of at least 1,000,000 points, and the levels themselves will have long, branching paths giving you plenty of opportunities for a high score. That isn't to say this will be easy, but if you find a level you're comfortable with and the leaderboard indicates that getting well over a million is doable, watch a replay to find the best path, and practice.
  • Achieve a Combo multiplier of 100 and then land in a Career level

As with Nail the Landing trophy_bronze.png, this will seem daunting at first, but in the later levels of the game there will be many opportunities to do this, and it will actually be a requirement to do all of the game's Radysus challenges. Make sure to incorporate spins, tweaked grabs and grind switches into your combos, and with a long enough path through the levels, you'll hit x100 easily enough.
  • Set a score on every Style of Gnarvana Portal level

The Gnarvana Portal will first be unlocked after completing the first world in the game, but to unlock every style in the game, you'll need to beat all five worlds. With that done, go to the Gnarvana Portal (far right side of the map), and after selecting it, a list of options will come up. You'll need to cycle through each style, playing one game each (difficulty and length don't matter) to unlock the trophy.
  • Trick, tweak a Grab, rotate 180, Grind, Late Trick and Grind Switch in one Combo

This may sound complicated, but as long as you're comfortable with each of the elements of this combo, you can do it pretty much anywhere with a long enough rail nearby. I would start by doing a 180 late trick (once you get the timing down you can start this on flat ground), then ollie onto a rail using any flip trick, do a grind switch by pressing cross.png and a direction with the left analog, and then jump off the rail with a tweaked grab.
  • Finish a level without slamming or respawning

You'll likely earn this trophy without trying, simply complete any level, regardless of your score, without bailing. If you do bail, simply restart from the beginning and you'll still be eligible for the trophy.
  • Unlock and beat the Local Hero level in Sunshine Valley

The Local Hero level is the blue triangle on the map that's isolated from the rest of the levels. To unlock it, each level has three score challenges, and you'll need to complete 25 of them within the district. With that done, simply complete the level you unlocked. If you need help with any of the individual levels, the video in Done-shine Valley trophy_silver.png may be of some help.
