Introduction:
Never Alone is an atmospheric puzzle platformer game based on various Alaskan indigenous folklore stories. It was developed in collaboration with an Alaska native people known as the Inupiat. You play as an Inupiaq girl named Nuna and her arctic fox, as you make your way through 9 chapters of Inupiaq lore. The game is absolutely beautiful to look at, but very brief. And even though the game takes place in a harsh Alaskan environment full of elements threatening your survival, there is still something calming and relaxing about it. If you're the type that enjoys more artistic and experimental indie games, then you will enjoy Never Alone. There are two types of trophies in the game; the story based ones, and the ones for collecting the game's Cultural Insights. Cultural Insights will give you a look into the lives and folklore surrounding the Inupiat people of Alaska, and adds an intriguing touch to the game. None of the trophies in this game are very hard to get, though some parts in the story can be tricky, but nothing overly difficult.
- Local Co-op vs. AI: Never Alone supports local 2 player co-op where one person plays as Nuna, and the other as Fox. Playing co-op would make some parts in the story much easier due to the game's AI being wonky at times. It has been confirmed by multiple players that trophies do unlock in co-op, but they only unlock for player 1 and not player 2.
- Getting Stuck: There are some parts in the game where one of your characters may get stuck to the wall graphics. If this happens just press Options and choose RESET FROM CHECKPOINT. Checkpoints are placed everywhere in this game, so you should not have to worry about doing a bunch of stuff over.
- Bola: Once you get Nuna's Bola, it can be tricky at first figuring out how to use it. The game teaches you how to get it spinning, but not much for how to aim and throw. Technically you will push the anywhere in the opposite direction from the direction Nuna is facing, then from there move the in the forward direction you want to throw it, either up, down, or anywhere in between in Nuna's forward direction / field of vision. Basically you push the right stick the opposite direction from the direction you plan to throw it, then push back the other way to throw it.
- Guardian Spirits: You will come across various white outlined guardian spirits throughout your journey that act as platforms or carriers to help you get to certain places to proceed forward. The game doesn't tell you this, but Fox can manipulate these guardian spirits to get them to move certain directions. They will move in the direction depending on Fox's position. If you move Fox to the right side the guardian spirit will move right. Same applies to other directions. Some can only move in 2 directions. Guardian spirits come in various forms and sizes.
- Quote Intermissions: There are parts in the Trophy Guide where I refer to trophies unlocking during quote intermission screens. When I say this I am referring to when the screen darkens with a quote appearing in the middle.
Walkthrough:
Step 1: Enjoy the game's story.
It's really that simple. Just play the game to the end. I recommend avoiding using the guide until after you have beaten the game so the game is more enjoyable with no interruptions. You may not even need the guide. Most of the Cultural Insights are out in the open. There's only a few you have to go out of the way for, but nothing drastic or way off the beaten path. Once you have them, at some point you will have to view all 24 of them by going to Cultural Insights in either the pause menu or main menu. You do not have to watch the entire videos unless you are interested by the culture and lore of the game. You can just start them and back out. Repeat for each.
Step 2: Cleanup.
Once you beat the game and the credits have rolled, you will be taken back to the title screen. Press to show the menu options. After choosing Play you will notice there is now a Chapter Select option. By choosing it you can see how many Cultural Insights you have of the total in each chapter. If you are missing any, just play the appropriate chapter. Once you find the missing Cultural Insight(s) you do not need to finish the chapter for it to count. You can just exit back to the main menu and move on to the next.

DLC: Foxtales
Overview:
- Estimated trophy difficulty: 1/10 (personal opinion)
- Offline trophies: 4 (2, 1 , 1 )
- Online trophies: 0
- Approximate amount of time to 100%: 1 hour
- Minimum number of playthroughs: 1
- Number of missable trophies: 0
- Glitched trophies: 0
- Does difficulty affect trophies?: no difficulties
- Do trophies stack?: n/a
- Do cheat codes disable trophies?: no cheats
Never Alone: Foxtales DLC is an addition to the atmospheric puzzle platformer game based on Alaskan indigenous folklore. It is based on the Alaskan native people known as the Inupiat. You again play as the Inupiat girl named Nuna and her arctic fox. In this DLC you will make your way through three chapters of one Inupiat story. As with the main game, the DLC is also absolutely beautiful to look at, and again very short. It is only three chapters. However, if you enjoyed the main game, then you will enjoy Foxtales as it is pretty much more of the same and it has a relatively cheap price attached to it. The option to play Foxtales is at the main menu and you don't have to have played the main game first.
There are two types of trophies in the game: the three story based ones, and the one for collecting the game's Cultural Insights. Cultural Insights will give you a look into the lives and folklore surrounding the Inupiat people of Alaska, and adds an intriguing touch to the game. None of the trophies in this game are very hard to get, though some platforming puzzles in the story can be tricky, but nothing too difficult. Furthermore, I have videos in the guide in case you get stuck.
Step 1: Enjoy the game's story and get the three collectables.
Step one is simple: just play the game to the end. You can play this entirely solo, or 2 player local co-op if you have a friend over and two controllers. In 2 player local co-op one person plays as Nuna and the other as the Fox. Either way, I recommend avoiding the use of the video guides unless you are stuck. This will make the game more enjoyable with no interruptions. You may not even need the guide. All three of the collectable Cultural Insights are out in the open and along the natural path. There are a total of five Insights but the first is given to you in the beginning and the last is given to you after you've completed the DLC. After this step you will earn:
- Trying to Set Things Right
- There Was a Village
- Respect For All Things
Step 2: Watch the Cultural Insights.
Once you beat the game and the credits have rolled, you can pause or you can go back to the title screen. Go to Cultural Insights to view all five of them. You can get to the Cultural Insights in either the pause menu or main menu. You do not have to watch the entire video unless you are interested in the culture and lore of the game. You can just start them and back out. Repeat for each one. After watching or starting and exiting all five you will receive:
- River Experts
Speacial Thanks to:
- StarlightDoll for the Main Guide.
- prozendaal for all images.
- Cad5150 for the chapter videos.
