Independence Day Trophy in NCAA Football 12

  • Independence Day

Play and win the National Championship game with BYU in the first year of Dynasty

    How to unlock Independence Day

NOTE: When creating your coach, make sure to set his alma mater to BYU. When you get this trophy, you'll also unlock Dream Job and Hometown Hero.

This one is a little trickier since BYU is in the Independent conference. DO NOT move BYU into another conference, doing so voids the trophy even if you win the national title.

The great thing about being an Independent team, you can modify the entire schedule to make it easier to have a better chance at reaching the BCS game. Modify your schedule so that it isn't too hard but isn't too easy. Too hard and you'll lose and have to repeat multiple games. Too easy and you'll most likely not get a bid to the BCS bowl because of a lack of strength in the schedule.

    Here's the schedule I used:

    Week 1: @ Ole Miss
    Week 2: @ #22 Texas
    Week 3: USC
    Week 4: @ Pittsburgh
    Week 5: @ Utah State
    Week 6: North Carolina
    Week 7: @ Oregon State
    Week 8: Kentucky
    Week 9: #14 TCU
    Week 10: OPEN
    Week 11: Northwestern
    Week 12: Boston College
    Week 13: @ Arizona
    Week 14: OPEN

You're going to want to turn off Auto-Save. That way if you lose one week, you can back out of the dynasty and try again. Losing one game pretty much means you won't make it to the big show. Make sure to save after each week that you win.

Once you reach the championship game, start the game and SuperSim until the end of the game. To speed this up, make the quarters set at one or two minutes.

  • This schedule was way to light for me. I only made it up to 3-4 in the polls. I had to play Bama, OU, LSU, Stanford, Miss st, ND, etc to break to No. 1
  • Change your starting 22+ K and P to an overall of 99. Also change your schedule to the hardest possible. I went undefeated and won the national championship
  • You could play a moderate schedule, make it to #3 or #4 in the polls late in the season, then go in and play the matchups against the teams ahead of you. For instance, Boise was #2 in the polls and I was #3 in week 13, so I played and beat them with Wyoming, dropping them in the polls.
  • I agree with FrozenStupid, the schedule provided is way too easy and I was only #4 with three others undefeated in front of me and I played all games. I'd suggest pick top 5 teams to face and play those games and win them this way they can be upsets and put you on the ranks.
