NBA 2KVR Experience is an attempt at bringing the fans into the NBA game. I say attempt as while the game is amusing and can be fun it is clearly a cash grab and could have been so much more. The game is a collection of four mini-games which can all be controlled through use of a single button, . This will shoot the ball and in the case of Buzzer Beater will also catch the ball. Everything else is simply you either looking at the ball, the hoop, or identified targets. Be prepared to see a ton of Gatorade and Indiana Pacers stuff as there is only one court to play on and Gatorade very clearly sponsored the game just like they do the NBA itself.

Step 1: Play through each of the mini-games

While playing through the events, you will want to try and also go for the event specific trophies to save some time. The order you do this in doesn't matter but I would save Buzzer Beater for last, as you may want to try and use boosts to help with the event specific trophies on that one. At the end of this step, you will have earned the following:

  • Trickster
  • Shootster
  • Speedster
  • Tricked Out
  • The Alternator
  • Ultimate Challenger
  • Three-Point Master
  • Time Lord
  • Sink King
  • Missin' Impossible

Step 2: Play the multiplayer

The multiplayer includes two party modes, Tournament and Single Event. You will need to play each mode once with at least one other player (no second controller needed). At the end of this step, you will have earned the following:

  • Party Time
  • Friend Zone

Step 3: Cleanup

Here you will be completing any event specific trophies you may have put off and ensuring that you used all of the boosts in an event you completed. At the end of this step, you will have earned the following:

  • Fueled Up

13 trophies ( 9  )

  • Complete any Skills Challenge Course, on any difficulty, in SOLO mode.

Simply play and complete all five shots on the first skills challenge course, in SOLO mode. You can play this on any difficulty but I recommend playing on All-Star as to unlock Challenge 10 on All-Star for the Missin' Impossible trophy you will need to beat the first 9 challenges on All-Star.

  • Complete a Three-Point game, on any difficulty, in SOLO mode.

For this, you will need to shoot all 25 shots on the three-point game, in SOLO mode. The difficulty doesn't matter although I recommend playing on Pro to familiarize yourself with that difficulty as you will need to hit every shot on Pro for Three-Point Master.

  • Complete a Time Attack game, on any difficulty, in SOLO mode.

Play and complete a game of Time Attack in SOLO mode, the difficulty doesn't matter. You will just need to take one shot in total and then let the minute timer run out. I recommend playing on Rookie, since this mode doesn’t have a difficulty related trophy. You will need to hit the first 15 shots and then not miss any after that for Time Lord though so you can try and stack them if you wish.

  • Complete any Party Single Event, on any difficulty (main user only).

For this, you will need to start up a Party Single Event with at least one other player. The good thing here is that you don't actually need a second person, you just need to setup another account to play as the second player. You will use the same controller for both players and will just need to indicate that the visor has been passed along. The quickest event is the Three-Point game as you can finish a run of that in about 30 seconds while making every shot, or just miss them all and finish slightly quicker. After both "players" have completed the event, the winner will be announced and the trophy will pop.

  • Complete a Party Tournament, on any difficulty (main user only).

Party Tournament takes you through all four types of events, the good part here though is that you only need to play Skills Challenge 1. I recommend playing this with one other player but as with Party Time, a second player is not required as you will be using controller 1 for all controls and can just indicate that the visor has been passed. After all four events have been completed by both "players" the winner will be announced and the trophy will pop.

  • Consume every type of boost, and complete a game with each boost, in SOLO mode.

You need to purchase all 6 boosts, one at a time in SOLO mode and complete an event with each. If you are following the roadmap this will be one of the last trophies you get. You have a few options here, you can either use the boosts while working for Time Lord or just play the Three-Point event 6 more times. To purchase the boosts you will need to earn money by completing events. Most likely if you save this until you the end you will have plenty of money for this trophy. You need a total of $15k for this trophy if you are focused solely on buying the items required.

  • Unlock all Skills Challenge Courses, on any difficulty, in SOLO mode.

For this, you will need to complete the first nine Skills Challenge Courses. These consist of 5 shots each wherein you will need to throw the ball at a target and then aim at each of the following targets and eventually the hoop to complete the challenge. The challenges range from 1 target prior to the hoop up to 14 targets on the final challenge on course 10. Most of the challenges are pretty simple and you should likely only miss a few times in completing the first 5 or 6 courses. Once you hit course 7 though be prepared to miss quite a few times before completion. I suggest playing these on All-Star difficulty as you will need to do so anyway to work up to Missin' Impossible.

  • Sink every other shot in a Three-Point game, on any difficulty, in SOLO mode.

This is an amusing trophy in that you will likely have to miss on purpose. Simply hit the first shot and then alternate misses and makes from there. You can play on any difficulty but I recommend playing on Pro, simply because you have more control than you do with Rookie. No matter the difficulty I would suggest missing by quite a bit to ensure it doesn't go in. Also watch out, if you are just throwing the ball on the ground and then immediately shooting another shot that sometimes the first ball will register after the second making the trophy not work. As such, I recommend just shooting left or right of the hoop for the misses to ensure they register in the proper order.

  • Reach challenge 10 (and sink the basket successfully) on Buzzer Beater, in SOLO mode.

This event has 10 total shots that must all be made. You will have under 5 seconds to catch a pass and then turn and make a shot. The shots are always in the same places so you can learn the pattern easily enough. The problem is that I found catching the ball to be fairly inaccurate. On top of that the last few shots are full court so you may find some difficulty in aiming those really long shots. As you have to make all 10 shots, that means that you cannot miss a shot or mishandle a catch. Either one will invalidate your chances for this trophy. I recommend playing on Pro as you will need to for Time Lord anyway.

  • Complete a Three-Point game without missing a single shot, on Pro difficulty, in SOLO mode.

Play Three-Point in SOLO mode on Pro difficulty. You will need to aim for the back of the rim. This is actually way easier than you may expect as even on Pro, you will likely only miss once or twice if you are rushing. That being said, take your time as you have a minute to shoot 25 shots which is nearly twice as long as you will need.

  • Achieve a catch-to-release time of less than 10.0 seconds and never miss a shot, on Pro or All-Star difficulty in Buzzer Beater, in SOLO mode.

This is the second hardest trophy in the game as you will need to be quite accurate to hit all 10 shots but more importantly, you must be fast. You will be playing on Pro as there is no reason to play on All-Star. I suggest taking it slowly a few times to get a feel for where the shots are coming from as knowing which way to turn is important to save time. Once you know the shots it is all about how quickly you can line them up and release them. In total you will need to have a catch to shot time under 10 seconds. By the end I was averaging around 8.5 seconds per 10 shots so it is definitely doable with or without boosts. You may find the boosts useful but I didn't notice a significant difference in anything but the time slow boost.

  • Complete a Time Attack game without missing a single shot, on any difficulty, with at least 15 successful baskets, in SOLO mode.

Play Time Attack in SOLO mode on Rookie (or any difficulty but Rookie is easiest) and make your first 15 shots then wait for the timer to run out. If you continue shooting you risk missing and invalidating the trophy. As Time Attack mode only lasts a minute and rotates your shots you will have to shoot a rack of right corner threes, then rotate up to the elbow extended (logo shots) and finally take half-court shots to complete your 15.

  • Complete Course 10 of Skills Challenge on All-Star difficulty, without a single miss, in SOLO mode.

Easily the hardest trophy in the game. You need to flawlessly complete Course 10 on All-Star without missing once. Making matters worse, whenever you retry you will be brought back to the first of five sections and have to start all over. I will say the hardest part for me was the second section specifically target 6 to 7 as the ball speeds way up for no reason. Additionally, if you played at all on anything other than All-Star, you will likely notice just how precise you must be on All-Star. It is a pain but doable if you memorize where the ball is going. I advise looking at the targets prior to your first shot to familiarize yourself with the order and direction the ball will follow.
