Glitched Trophies Warning:

I and multiple others are having issues with career mode trophies no unlocking. This affects a large portion of the list and the only work around is to delete your career and start over. If you are worried about trophies not unlocking, it is best to either wait for a patch or try to back up your save often (untested). I will list Glitched under every single trophy affected by this in the Trophy Guide. Couch Champion also seems to be buggy, please see below for information. Lastly, all of the winning trophies may be buggy as well. If your home screen says you have more wins than a trophy that didn't unlock during Career or Championship Mode, try winning a Quick Race. See here for more info on this situation: LINK

Introduction:

Welcome to my Nascar Heat 4 guide. The fourth instalment by 704games has brought forth an identical list to last year's game, as well as more settings and quality of life improvements. This includes a new multitude of settings for both yourself and AI that you can change to fit your racing style. The challenges are easier than Nascar Heat 3, although one is a bit frustrating and luck based but is literally the only change from the previous game's Platinum. You will need to get through 10 seasons of career mode, mop up some split screen and multiplayer, then go on to beat King Richard Petty's 200 win milestone on your way to the platinum. You can do so in any order. While nothing is missable, do keep in mind that career mode is currently very buggy. If you aren't earning trophies for making playoffs or winning championships, stop playing immediately and reload a cloud save or start your career over.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Career Mode

The long story short is you need to complete 10 seasons, while winning a championship in all four divisions (Dirt, Truck, Xfinity, Cup). During one of those seasons, you need to purchase your own team rather than joining one and earn all related trophies for that. Keep in mind that purchasing your own team is more expensive the higher the division so I recommend doing so in either Trucks or Dirt. I personally chose to buy my own team in Trucks and the cost for everything was somewhere in the 4-5 million dollar range. Money is very scarce early on but will start raking in once you've made it to the Cup series and have a lot of fans. Because races are locked to 4% length and the AI are set to 87 difficulty, I recommend simulating most of the races and then moving over to Quick Race or Championship mode to earn the rest of your 200 wins. This will save you a lot of time in the long run because the AI is easier and the race lengths can be set to 2%. I have a very detailed post on how to get through Career Mode as fast as possible, please see the Grizzled Veteran trophy in the guide for more information. Note: Season 1 does not count towards your 10 seasons because it is not full time. I also want to note that I needed 11 full-time seasons for the trophy, which caused a panic because I thought I would have to restart my career for a 3rd time.

In this step, you will earn

So it Begins

Step 2: Challenge Mode

There are 20 challenges for you to complete and they are much easier than previous games. Most of them are extremely easy, while at least one of them will be annoying and take multiple tries. I have outlined which ones I struggled with in the guide below. Keep in mind that you only need to complete the original 20 challenges; you can ignore DLC challenges.

In this step, you will earn

Challenge Accomplished
Force to be Reckoned With
King of the Hill

Step 3: Multiplayer

You'll need to win 10 races in multiplayer to earn all these trophies. Competition is pretty tough in actual online lobbies so feel free to head over to the Trophy Boosting Thread or grab a friend and boost these in private matches.

In this step, you will earn:

Online Racer
Online Veteran
Online Victory
Online Domination

Step 4: Miscellaneous & Cleanup

If you have not done so in career mode, head to the My Driver tab and create both a driver profile and custom paint job. Grab a second controller and head into Split Screen for those two trophies. Be aware that Couch Champion is buggy and may require you to win after trailing, instead of just straight up winning four races. Make sure to set up a 100% length race in the Dirt series and win for those two trophies. Lastly, use either Quick Race or Championship Mode to clean up all of your missing win-related trophies. Congrats on another Platinum trophy!

In this step, you will earn:

  • Win 200 races

Winning 200 races is the longest trophy in the game but can be done in any mode. My recommendation is to do the majority of these in either Quick Race or Championship Mode, because the settings can be lowered to 85 AI difficulty and 2% race length. Make sure to win at least once on every track in the game to earn the subsequent trophies for them as well. If you’re looking to rack up wins as fast as possible, the Xtreme Dirt Series has the fastest races. I found Jefferson Raceway to be the quickest overall, because you do not have to qualify in order to get to the front before the race is over. Simply set the difficulty to custom (85%) and the race length to the lowest (2%). The race will only be one lap and takes about a minute and a half to complete. With the AI on 85%, you'll have no problem making it to 1st place before the lap is over. From here, you can restart the race and repeat however many times you need.

Glitch note: All of these trophies are listed as buggy because they may not unlock at their designated times. This is most likely due to the all so buggy career mode, or just a bug in general. If you see that you have X amount of wins on the home screen but haven't unlocked a trophy for it, try winning a Quick Race. This fixed the issue for me and another user so thanks to jcopp72 for the initial discovery.

  • Complete a race with a 100% race length

    See Endurance Champion.

  • Win a race with a 100% race length

Go into Quick Race and chose the Xtreme Dirt Series. Pick any track you want, as they are all pretty short. Most of them are set to 100 laps so I personally chose Bristol. Set the AI difficulty to custom (85%), set the length to 100%, then win the race. This trophy shouldn't take more than an hour to complete using this series. You can also make it even shorter by setting yellow flags to full and wreck opponents for the first 95% of the race, as it will advance the race by a few laps each time. Just make sure you’re in first at the end of the race to unlock this and Test of Endurance.

  • Race at every track

Complete a race at all 38 unique tracks across all four series to unlock this. Simulating races do not count as completing them so you'll have to show up to each track at least once. Here's a list of every track, by series:

    • Daytona
    • Talladega
  • Win a Split Screen race

    Two controllers required

Load up split screen with two controllers and win a race. See Couch Champion for more info.

  • Be the Split Screen champion after 4 races

    (2)

    Glitched. Two controllers required

For this trophy, you need to have more points than your split screen counterpart after four races. However this trophy seems to be bugged, with an easy workaround. Instead of winning all four races, have your guest place one spot higher than you for the first two races. Then take your main account and win the next two races (or finish higher than your guest). This should make you the champion after four races and unlock the trophy. For some reason you have to win after trailing, which is not mentioned in the trophy description. Thank you Quickey for discovering the work around. Feel free to use the Dirt series and set the race length to 2% to get the over with as soon as possible.

  • Create a character

At any time, you can create a character under the My Driver tab on the home screen. You can also create a character when you begin career mode.

  • Create a custom car paint job

You can create a custom paint job under the My Driver tab on the home screen at any time. You should also be able to pop this trophy during career mode by choosing to drive your own custom car.

  • Complete 10 career seasons

    Glitched

For this trophy, you need to complete 10 full-time career seasons. If you are keeping track via the main menu, keep in mind that your first season in not full-time so you need to roll over to season 12 in game to get this trophy. I also pointed out in the roadmap that for some reason, I had to complete 11 full time seasons to earn this trophy. Could be worth trying if you run into problems. Because this mode is locked to a slightly higher difficulty and longer races, I recommend following my fast guide below. This requires you to simulate the vast majority of races and take advantage of how the playoffs work in order to cut down on the amount of races you actually have to participate in. Each series follows a 'win and you're in' mindset so winning will automatically make you qualify for the playoffs. Each series is a bit different, but it is mostly the same. I will walk you through each season and outline what to do so that you can get out of this glitchy monstrosity as soon as possible.

    • Pre-season: I recommend playing around with your settings before starting. Set the difficulty to easy and the length to 4%, unless you want to race longer. The player settings are much more complex than previous games, so practice with them before starting. Usually you want to turn off all brake-related assists as they can slow you down in corners. I personally used 30% stability, 100% steering help, and everything else set to zero. On road courses, I set my stability higher to prevent spinning out on tight corners. Another important setting is Quick Qualify so that you aren’t spending a lot of time qualifying for races. Do not race in multiple series at the same time! This also seems to be the source of multiple glitches.

    • Season 1: Your agent will explain how career mode works and you will begin calling around for offers. Each car has a 3 to 5 star rating for performance, and a required finish to offer their seat. That is your goal for season one: Complete all of the hot seats to secure a 5 star team for next season. Do not simulate anything here, or you will not gain access to the 5 star rides. Start working on earning at least one friend and one rival and finish that in season 2 before leaving the Dirt Series.

    • Season 2: Sign onto a Dirt team and pick one of the 5 star options. You can either take over the ride or drive on the team with your own car if there is room. For this season, you want to qualify well and win one race at all nine unique tracks, if possible. This will get the Dirt King trophy out of the way. You will also need to complete all of the Truck series hotseat offers, similar to before, so you can secure a good ride. Either way, make sure you win at least once to make the playoffs. There are now four races before the championship round. Win at least one to lock yourself into the championship round, and then place ahead of your three championship competitors in the final race to secure the Dirt championship.

    • Season 3: Sign onto a 5 star Truck team and begin simulating races until you get to WWT Raceway (Gateway). Qualify and win this race to secure a place in the playoffs and cross off one of the Truck series exclusive tracks. Just like before, you need to complete all Xfinity hotseat offers, so do not simulate those. As you get near the playoffs, keep an eye on your standings. Only the top 8 drivers with the most wins, followed by the most points, will make it in. This could be a problem if more than 8 drivers win, so if you are worried about missing them, qualify and win Eldora as it is an easy track. When you finally do make the playoffs, you need to win a race in both rounds to make the championship round. Do so at Canadian Tire to cross off another exclusive, and then do so at Martinsville because it is easy to win at. You can simulate the other playoff races because winning during each round automatically makes you advance. Once you get to the final race at Homestead, either win or finish ahead of your three championship competitors to secure the Truck series championship.

    • Season 4: You may understand how it works now so sign onto a 5 star Xfinity team. Once again make sure to complete all Cup series hotseats. Simulate until you get to Iowa speedway and win the race there to cross off an exclusive. I also recommend winning at Mid Ohio and Road America, just to cross off the exclusives and not have to worry about them later. Simulate every other race until the playoffs, then repeat what you did before. In the round of 12, I won at the Charlotte Roval, and in the round of 8 I won at ISM (Phoenix). This automatically advanced me to the championship round. You know the drill: Win or beat your four competitors to secure the championship.

    • Season 5: Congrats on making it to the highest level, there are no more hotseats to worry about. Same old song and dance: Win at least one of the first 26 races to make the playoffs. The Cup series has an extra round over its Xfinity and Truck predecessors, so make sure to win one race in each round. Finish it out to win the championship. You may have noticed that your fan count and money has skyrocketed this year. We need to make it to 50 million dollars, which is very easy to do now that you are at the Cup level.

    • Season 6: Chose the Cup series for one more season to ensure you make hit the 50 million dollar mark. You can simulate all 36 races, or chose to race any that you want to cross of for trophies. The Seasoned Driver trophy should pop after you finish the post season. If for some reason you do not have 50 million dollars by now, keep doing Cup seasons until you do. The reason is you cannot jump from lower seasons straight to higher seasons, which is stupid in my opinion but that is how it works.

    • Season 7: When your agent asks you what you want to race next year, carefully highlight the Dirt series and use to highlight participate. Then use under Cup to skip it. Now we can simulate 19 races instead of 36 for the rest of your career. There are only 14 dirt races and 5 Truck hotseats here, all that can be skipped. Repeat this for seasons 7-11.

    • Season 12: When your agent asks about the next year, chose to race in the Truck series and start your own team. The Grizzled Veteran trophy should unlock here. If not, you may have the same problem I did and need to simulate an entire 11th season. Either way, create your own team and purchase everything outright. You will have more than enough money to do so. You will need six cars and twelve employees, full training for one employee and maxing out the five departments. If trophies do not pop here, try closing the application and re-entering career mode. This fixed my issue with the twelve employees trophy not popping.

...and that's it! Takes about four hours to do everything. I know because I had to do half of it twice thanks to glitches. Now you can go into Quick Race and win at every track you missed. I personally did an entire Cup season in Championship Mode. The AI are so easy that I didn’t need to qualify any races to win from the 40th starting spot. I crossed off the Tour the Tracks and Best at all the Rest trophies by doing so.

    Glitched

When you purchase your own team, you will need to buy race cars. There are six cars available for purchase, each one more expensive than the next. Purchase all six chassis to earn this trophy. This and all other team related trophies are buggy so if they do not pop try closing the game and reloading back into Career Mode.

After purchasing all six chassis, hire the rest of your team to earn this trophy. • Engine
    • Suspension
    • Aerodynamics
    • Pit Road Speed
    • Pit Road Accuracy

This is the most expensive part of owning your own team. If you want to get this easily, please refer to my Grizzled Veteran Guide. This and all other team related trophies are buggy so if they do not pop, try closing the game and reloading back into Career Mode.

  • Complete all challenges

There are 20 required challenges in Nascar Heat 4, and they can be found at the main menu. Most of them require you to relive past races and recreate what the drivers did to win them. For the most part, these are easy and straightforward. None of them require setups like Nascar Heat 3 and they are no where near as difficult as older games. I took notes on some of them so I will list them below. I used 30% stability and 100% steering help, with all other assists turned down to 0%.

    • #3 In it to Win It: Gragson is way out front like the challenge suggests, and you will need to run good lap times to catch him. With 100% steering help, you can run wide open in the corners without losing time. Try to run a high line and don’t hit the wall. It took me two tries and I caught him on the very last corner to pass this.

    • #4 Gassed: The most frustrating challenge in the game. You have four laps to conserve fuel and hold off a hard charging pack. For this one I really cannot provide any advice, I’m sorry. It took me 20-25 attempts and it seemed like it was luck based when I finally did get it. Here’s what I did on my successful run: Turn off steering help and set stability to 100%. Now gun it as hard as possible for the first two laps. After that, try mashing the throttle any time your car sputters. Every single time I did this I had different results, and eventually I was able to maintain speed for the entire third lap. In the fourth lap, keep mashing if you lose fuel pressure and block as best as you can. I was able to throw a huge block on the field coming out of turn 4 to win the challenge. I wish I could provide more advice, so if you have some tips to share feel free to post in the forums and I will give you credit.

    • #7 Stay in the Draft: I beat this first try, but make sure you pay attention to what the challenge says. You absolutely must draft someone the entire time, as I did so and barely beat it myself.

    • #8 Monster Momentum: This was the last of the slightly difficult challenges. First off, you may want to increase your stability under the pause menu to control the car better. Other than that, don't be afraid to play dirty. There is no penalty for wrecking someone and blocking is very effective in this game. Hold off all the hard chargers to complete this challenge.

    • #12 Pit Gamble: I beat this first try by completing one lap and then pitting. Make sure not to speed, and take four tires on your stop. With the four fresh Goodyears, I was able to rocket through the field and win.

    • #15 Back of the Pack, Jack: For me, the tires blew on the front stretch of lap 1, 3rd turn of lap 1, and the backstretch between turns 2 and 3 on lap 2. It took me a few tries because I got caught up in wrecks. Avoid this incidents as best as you can and you will catch 1st with ease.

    • #17 Carousel Catch Up: This one takes you through the new Sonoma layout, which is virtually the only track change in the game. While it isn’t a difficult challenge, you may need to increase your stability assist to prevent spinning out.

    • Bonus! #21 Wreck Fest: This is not needed for the trophy! However this was both the hardest and my favourite challenge in the game. I recommend playing it a few times as it is very fun trying to dodge all of the wrecks. You must not get hit whatsoever to catch 1st place by the end of the lap. This was a free DLC challenge so I recommend giving it a few tries for fun after you’ve beaten the challenges.

You'll need to win 10 multiplayer races for this and its related trophies. Online lobbies are pretty crazy with hardcore racers and custom setups all over the place so I recommend heading over to the Trophy Boosting Thread to grab a partner.
