    How to unlock Hardcore

Narco Terror consists of 8 Missions, listed below:

    • Mission 1 - Time For Breakfast
    • Mission 2 - Now It’s Personal
    • Mission 3 - Peruvian Jungle
    • Mission 4 - Revelation
    • Mission 5 - The Betrayal

Naturally you need to complete all these missions on the hardcore difficulty in order to unlock this trophy (which also stacks with It’s done).

Some general tips in case you’re struggling:

    • Pick up large health packs strategically - Once a large health pack is dropped, you can leave it idle for a decent amount of time before it disappears, use this time to your advantage. There’s no point picking one up if you’ve got nigh on full health, and a bunch of enemies are still in your vicinity; clear the area first, then pick it up, therefore you’ll be heading into your next battle in the best shape possible.
    • Make use of your environment - Be it the cover available to you, or vehicles/barrels that can be exploded, there’s often effective strategies which can be used to your advantage.
    • Stay on the move in open areas - This is rather important considering the fact you can be overrun and bogged down with enemies in the blink of an eye. Ensuring that you stay on the move makes it far harder for enemy fire to register, it also makes it less likely that you’ll be pounced on from behind by blade wielding enemies. Remember, the roll is always available to use if you‘re in danger, and it’s something you should make use of frequently.
    • “Cast the net” - You can often entice enemies towards you by slightly entering a new field of battle, then backing out of it in the direction you came. This is an excellent strategy as it can prevent you from being surrounded by enemies and means you don’t have to take on as many enemies at once.
    • Efficient use of Grenades - It’s important to use your grenades at the right time, don’t waste them in scenarios where guns would be just as effective. Grenades are great for crowd control, and killing off large numbers of enemies in bulk - if you’re in trouble and want to escape in a certain direction, toss a grenade where you’re heading to ensure your path is safe.
    • Jump and shoot - Elevated enemies can be a pain sometimes, not made easier by the fact that the hit detection and aiming in Narco Terror can be questionable at times. The easiest way to take these enemies out is often to jump, then shoot, from a short way back.
    • Manual save via the pause menu - If you’re really struggling, there’s always the option to create a manual save via the pause menu in order to progress past certain points in the game. If you feel you’re in good shape at a certain point, create a save, which can then act as the point you’ll resume from if and when you die.
    • Skip certain sections - Unless the game specifically tells you otherwise, it’s not always essential that you kill each and every enemy to progress. If a certain section is proving too difficult, try using the roll to bypass it entirely. It’s not advisable to abuse this method too much however, it’s important to accumulate kills in order to unlock Unpopular.

  • Besides abusing manual saves, I recommend fully upgrading the minigun. It made the game easier to the point where you only have to switch weapons when it occasionally overheats. Also, have a fully upgraded shotgun for the final encounter...
