Vita Information - First Person and Going Green are not on the Vita version, otherwise the list is identical (except Derby King is a silver trophy instead of bronze) and this guide can be used for both. The two versions do not share a trophy list. You can also cross-play Online Home Run Derby between the two consoles and share your saves in the cloud, and switch back and forth between each for the rest of your single player modes.
Introduction:
There are two ways to go about getting the trophies for this game. The first is to just play. Nearly the entire list is just random one-off things that happen during actual games. The second way is to manipulate the games' rosters and settings to put you in a better position to earn the trophies. This guide will be based on doing just that. I'll tell you the fastest way to earn the trophy, but be aware that you won't get the full authentic feel of how great this simulation really is.
Before starting your quest for the platinum, you should edit two rosters, adjust gameplay settings and adjust sliders. This next section will talk about each.
Roster Setup
The first thing you should do is edit two teams. Give one team maximum attributes for it's 8 starting position players, starting pitcher and a closer. Make sure to give your pitchers maximum hitting stats too so pick your favorite team and inject them with steroids.
The second thing you should do is reduce the stats of another team. Basically, the opposite of the first step. You can make it even easier by editing their pitchers too, but it's optional. When you play exhibition games, the CPU will always use the same starting pitcher. So just edit that one starter, and the each of their team's relief pitchers. With pitchers, you can remove pitches and adjust their speed and control. I gave all of them the same three pitches at the same speed.
You can edit teams under the options menu, then selecting "Edit Players". Make sure you save the roster after you finish making the changes as it won't do it automatically. Create a new save slot. Every time you start the game, you will have to load that roster. This will make many of the trophies much easier

Gameplay Settings
Another menu you need to be familiar with is the Gameplay options. This is found under Options>User Settings>Gameplay. This can also be adjusted while within games. This is where you will change hitting difficulty and the hitting interface. Press , and from here you can change the pitching difficulty as well as the pitching interface.
You can also change the Presentation mode from the Presentation menu, and switch between Fast Play and Broadcast. Broadcast presents the game as you would see it on Television and it's absolutely awesome. Fast Play will make the game go by quicker by skipping a lot of the extra presentations.
Slider Adjustments
The final and most important thing to know is that sliders can be used and adjusted to customize a gameplay experience. A lot of trophies are made easier with specific slider adjustments. You can change the sliders within options menu from the main menu or anytime during the game. Think of these as cheats. They greatly improve your abilities while decreasing the CPU's, which creates an unbalanced experience. I highly suggest only adjusting them for the purpose of getting the trophies as quickly as possible and not for normal playing. When the trophy descriptions call for certain types of slider adjustments, refer to these:
These Affect You
- Human Contact
- Human Power
- Human Timing
- Human Sold Hits
- Human Starter Stamina
- Human Pitcher Control
- Human Foul Frequency
These Affect the CPU
- CPU Contact
- CPU Power
- CPU Timing
- CPU Solid Hits
- CPU Pitcher Control
- CPU Pitcher Consistency
- CPU Strike Frequency
- CPU Pickoffs
- CPU Foul Frequency
Global (Affect both Teams)
- Fielding Errors
- Throwing Errors
- Fielder Run Speed
- Fielder Reaction
- Baserunner Speed
- Baserunner Steal Ability
There is also a slider adjustment for Pitch Speed. If you have slow reaction time to the pitches and are constantly swinging late, adjust this slider. This can be useful for those new to baseball games.
Walkthrough:
Step 1 - Home Run Derby
There are seven trophies that you can knock out fairly quickly. Just like previous The Show games, there are locations in 7 stadiums that you must hit. While you can get these during normal games, you can get them much quicker in the Home Run Derby game mode as you can just stand at the plate and swing away over and over. For targets that are located on the right side of the field, select a Left-Handed batter and then use a Right-Handed batter for targets on the left side. The trophies are:
- Bang the Drum
- So Close, Yet...
- Brewed Fresh
- Bronx Bomber
- Arr, Matey!
- Land Ho!
- Hail to the Chief
Step 2 - Road to the Show, Playoff Mode and Online
There are five miscellaneous trophies from various modes that you will need to get. It will require you to make use of the new Manual Catch method in Road to the Show (RTTS) to earn First Person. Another thing you'll need to do is play a single game within Postseason Mode for Fall Ball
Once that's out of the way, you'll need three trophies that require an online pass. Derby King is the only one that will require you to play online with other players. You need to win an online Home Run Derby, recycle a card in Diamond Dynasty and play one game of The Show Live (TSL).
- First Person (PS3 only)
- Fall Ball
- Derby King - (Online) Impossible due to server closure
- Going Green - (Online) (PS3 only) Impossible due to server closure
- Latest and Greatest - (Online) Impossible due to server closure
Step 3 - Exhibition
This is where you will spend the majority of your time. For all remaining trophies, consult the guide below for tips on each trophy. Use your edited rosters and take advantage of the sliders. You may need to tweak rosters and sliders a bit from one trophy to the next, but the guide will tell how you should approach each. Play each game in Citi Field (New York Mets home park) until you have earned Credit Extension.
Many of these can also be earned in Road to the Show. If it doesn't specifically say that it's not achievable in RTTS within the trophy description, you should be able to earn it. Skipping to your players next play doesn't count against you but all of them are able to be earned in Exhibition games and would be easier. For that reason and for the purpose of offering the quickest way to get the Platinum, I am recommending that you play Exhibition games.
