Introduction:
Minigolf Adventure is a local party game style minigolf game. You play tournaments consisting of 3 randomized holes, against AI controlled opponents. Unlike traditional golf, the objective isn't just the lowest score, but also to be fast - once 3 players are holed out, a timer starts and if you don't finish before time runs out, you'll get a stroke penalty.

Courses are wildly unrealistic and the AI is incredibly dumb, so there isn't much here apart from a shortish plat. Fortunately the game is often on sale for quite cheap, and it can be fun for the hour or so it will take to finish.

There is both an EU and NA PS4 release, each with their own separate trophy list.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Complete the mandatory tutorial, which consists of 2 short holes to teach you the basics, then complete and win at least once on each of the 4 Tours. Each tour is a randomized event consisting of 3 holes. Score is cumulative over the 3 holes, with lowest total score being the winner. The AI is very poor, so this shouldn't pose much difficulty, but a few holes can be rather annoying (especially on Tour 3 & 4). Note that if 3 opponents hole out, a timer will start and if you don't hurry up and finish, you will be given a stroke penalty. Still, it is unlikely that you will have any difficulty winning the 4 Tours, and you will be doing some grinding in Step 2 anyway.

Step 2: Grind. Well, not really that much of a grind, but you will need to play a few dozen more Tours to get all the unlocks. At the end of each Tour you will get some coins (you will need 4000 for one trophy, but this will come easily), and a random treasure chest - these come in Common, Rare and Epic varities. Which one you get is entirely random. Even if you don't win, you will get a treasure chest. Tour 3&4 seem slightly more likely to aware Rare and Epic, but again, it is random.

When you open the chest you will be given cards - 2 in a Common chest, 3 in a Rare and 4 in an Epic. You will need to collect all card parts to unlock balls, ball trails, avatars and hole effects. Depending on the part, you may need between 3 and 8 matching cards. Once you have a full set, you can purchase that item from the store and use it in game.

Ultimately you will need one of each - a ball, a ball trail, a hole effect and an avatar. Unfortunately there is no way to speed up this process along other than to grind Tours. The game does seem to grant you cards that match what you already have - so if you have 1/3 parts for a particular ball, you are much more likely to get card parts 2&3. But you may unlock a dozen balls before you get a single ball trail card.

There is a slight cheat you can use to help this a bit, which I have detailed in the trophy guide, but you still may need to spend an hour or more (or have some great luck) to get all 4 different unlocks.

Once you are done this step, you should have another plat for your profile

  • Complete the tutorial

When you first start the game, you will have to play a very short 2 hole tutorial. This tells you how to play the game (hold cross.png to charge your shot, letting go when you get to your desired power), and introduces the AI. Note that the game will automatically point you at the hole once you are close, so you just need to set your power. On longer holes, you can use the ls.png to change your aim. It is a very simple and easy mechanic and the game is quite forgiving.

When you complete the 2 hole tutorial, this trophy will pop.

  • Unlock an avatar

Every time you finish a Tour, you will be awarded some coins and a treasure chest. There are Common, Rare and Epic treasure chests. These contain 2-4 cards, with random rewards. Rewards can be more coins, or parts for Balls, Trails, Hole Effects or Avatars (collectively we will call these Items).

Items come in different rarities as well - common, rare, epic and legendary. In order to unlock new Items, you will need to collect multiple cards of the same type. In general, the more rare an Item, the more card parts it will need. Furthermore, more rare the chest, the more likely you are to get a card part for a more rare Item.

For the purpose of the Items trophies, you will need to collect a full set of cards to unlock one of each type of Item, then go into the customization menu and purchase the Item. It does not matter whether you get a 3 card common Item or an 8 card Epic Item.

The problem here is that card parts are completely random. You may complete a full set of a dozen different Balls before ever getting a single Trail card. It doesn't matter which Tour you play, Chests are random (you can even get Rare/Epic Chests for losing a Tour). The only option really is to keep playing Tours and hope for some good luck.

Now there are a couple of things to keep in mind - if you have 1/3 Card parts for a particular Ball, you are much more likely to get parts 2&3. This helps to complete a set once you have started. You probably won't get parts from multiple different Balls on the go at once.

You can use this to your advantage if you have only one Item type left. Lets say you have collected a Ball, a Trail, a Hole Effect, but still need an Avatar.

When you complete a Tour and get a Chest (preferrably a Rare or Epic chest), you can open it and see the rewards, and if you don't get a Card you need, close the game before leaving the rewards screen, then relaunch the game. You will be at the menu and the Chest will be sealed. You can repeat this process over and over - the Card rewards are random each time - until you get the part you want, or at least get a Card for the Item you want (in this case an Avatar). Once you have at least the first Card for a particular Avatar, you're more likely to get the next Card parts from future chests, or you can use the above trick to force the game to supply the Card you want.

It is a bit time consuming, but better than playing dozens of Tours to keep getting more Ball cards.
  • Achieve 1st place in tour 1

This is quite easy, the AI is braindead, and Tours consist of only 3 holes. Lowest cumulative score wins. You can take your time for the most part, but do be aware that if the AI is finishing more quickly than you, a timer will appear (after 3 players are holed out). Again, this isn't usually an issue, the game is easy enough that you can just move towards the hole and will usually win handily.

For this trophy, you will need to win the first Tour. This is a basic course with minimal obstacles.
  • Achieve 1st place in tour 2

This is quite easy, the AI is braindead, and Tours consist of only 3 holes. Lowest cumulative score wins. You can take your time for the most part, but do be aware that if the AI is finishing more quickly than you, a timer will appear (after 3 players are holed out). Again, this isn't usually an issue, the game is easy enough that you can just move towards the hole and will usually win handily.

For this trophy, you will need to win the second Tour. This is a basic course but the holes tend to be longer and have a few more obstacles in play.
  • Achieve 1st place in tour 3

This is quite easy, the AI is braindead, and Tours consist of only 3 holes. Lowest cumulative score wins. You can take your time for the most part, but do be aware that if the AI is finishing more quickly than you, a timer will appear (after 3 players are holed out). Again, this isn't usually an issue, the game is easy enough that you can just move towards the hole and will usually win handily.

For this trophy, you will need to win the third Tour. This is a much more complex course, typically with angles to deal with, jumps and lots of obstacles.
  • Achieve 1st place in tour 4

This is quite easy, the AI is braindead, and Tours consist of only 3 holes. Lowest cumulative score wins. You can take your time for the most part, but do be aware that if the AI is finishing more quickly than you, a timer will appear (after 3 players are holed out). Again, this isn't usually an issue, the game is easy enough that you can just move towards the hole and will usually win handily.

For this trophy, you will need to win the fourth and final Tour. This is the most advanced course. Expect to see long holes, branching paths, obstacles and ramps & jumps everywhere. Some holes will take 10 strokes. Still, the AI never gets any more difficult and winning really isn't much of a challenge. You will likely be grinding Tour 3&4 for treasure chests anyway, so don't worry if you do lose on your first try.
  • Purchase an item from the shop

Every day there are 3 Items available for purchase in the Shop accessed from the main menu. These will be a Ball, a Trail and a Hole Effect. Shop Items are always Legendary and will cost 2000 coins. You'll have lots of coins to spare, so don't worry about that. Purchase any item and the trophy will unlock.

Note that Items purchased in the Shop do NOT count for unlock Item trophies (trophy_gold.pngNice Ball, trophy_gold.pngCool Trail, trophy_gold.pngFancy Hole, trophy_gold.pngLooking Nice). Similarly, purchasing unlocked Items in the Customization Menu will not count towards this trophy. You must purchase one of the 3 special daily items.
  • Collect at least 2000 gold

    See trophy_gold.pngHoarder
  • Collect at least 4000 gold

For this andtrophy_gold.pngMaking Progress, you will need to have 2000 and 4000 coins in your bank at any time. Note that the trophy is NOT cumulative. You must have the full amount in the bank at once. This shouldn't be an issue - you will need to win the 4 Tours, which award 300, 500, 1000 and 1500 coins respectively, and you will be doing some grinding anyway. You can hold off on purchasing the Shop Item (trophy_gold.pngNeed a Bag?) until you have this trophy if you want, but in all likelihood you will have thousands of extra coins by the time you are done grinding Item unlocks, so this should come quite painlessly.
