Minesweeper Genius is Minesweeper with a unique twist- instead of clicking on safe spaces, you have to guide Greek philosopher Aristotle through a safe path to the exit, using number hints and special tiles. If that sounds complicated, the tutorials will explain it.
There are over 180 randomly generated levels, meaning there are no solutions available to this game- but you’ll get used to the concept quickly and when all is said and done, this is a fairly easy platinum for puzzle fans.

Step 1: Complete all regular and advanced levels with 3 stars, look out for level specific trophies.

Work your way through the regular and advanced levels as you unlock them, not moving on until you get 3 stars. There are also 9 levels where you need to either correctly use all the flags, not use a single flag or not let Ari fall asleep. In order, these levels are ES-3, FS-3, GS-4, JS-5, K-10, L-10, LS-5, M-10 and MS-5. Check below to see what you need to do for each of these levels. For general tips on getting through the levels, see The world was Mine…

Step 2: Clean up

If you have 3 stars on every level and the 9 level specific trophies, you may still need to reach 5000 blocks swept and 300 deaths, so farm those out now. There are also a couple of miscellaneous trophies that you may still be missing, like the tutorial and flagging and unflagging a lot in one level, so once you get those you should have the platinum, congrats!

28 trophies ( 14  8  )

  • Obtain all Trophies

Same as always, unlock all other trophies to unlock this one.

  • Finish a level with 1 star.

This does not stack with Professor. You lose a star for each death on a level, thus you must die twice on a level before completing it to get this trophy. You can’t do this on A-1, and A-2 sometimes makes it impossible to hit 2 mines, so the earliest you can consistently get this one is A-3.

  • Finish a level with 3 stars.

As mentioned above, you get 3 stars on a level if you don’t die in the process. It is impossible to get anything less than 3 stars on A-1, so you must get 3 stars on any level afterwards to unlock this. See The world was Mine… for tips on getting 3 stars in levels.

  • Get 3 stars in all the levels of an island.

Each main island has 10 levels, the first few are really easy so you should have no issue getting 3 stars in each level of those.

See The world was Mine… for tips on getting 3 stars in levels.

  • Unlock your first advanced levels island.

Advanced levels islands are unlocked after getting all available stars in each main island starting from C, so once get all 30 stars in island C you’ll unlock this one.

  • Finish the game.

For this, you’ll just need to finish the 130 main levels in the game up to M-10. The advanced levels are not required, and you don’t need to get 3 stars in each level.

  • Finish the game with 3 stars in all levels.

For this one you’ll need to get all 3 stars in the 130 main levels in the game up to M-10. Again, the advanced levels are not required. See The world was Mine… for tips on getting 3 stars in levels.

  • Finish an advanced level with 3 stars.

Once you have unlocked an advanced level after getting all 30 stars in any island after C, simply complete it with 3 stars to get this trophy.

  • Finish all the advanced levels.

You’ll need to have obtained all 3 stars in all regular levels to have unlocked all of the advanced levels. As the name suggests, they are trickier and often larger versions of the regular puzzles. You’ll have to get 3 stars in all of them, so see The world was Mine… for tips on getting 3 stars in levels.

  • Finish all the advanced levels with 3 stars.

You’ll need to have obtained all 3 stars in all regular levels to have unlocked all of the advanced levels. They are trickier and often larger, so getting 3 stars in all of them will definitely test your skills with the game. However, there are numerous tips and hints I can give you that will help.

    • Take your time: with the exception of LS-5, GS-4 and MS-5, you can take as much time as you’d like, since stars are based on getting no deaths rather than time.
    • Only one path: There’s only one path through a level. This means that if there’s a space next to you that you know is empty, it’s the way you need to go. If you find yourself on an empty line, you can safely travel all the way down it. If you find yourself next to a special square, step on it.
    • Every square will be filled by the end: If there is no mine underneath a square, it must be walked on before reaching the finish. Therefore, if you find yourself close to the exit but there are still squares on the other side to be stood on, you know that the square between you and the exit is a mine. If one possible path leads only to a dead-end, you know they are all mines.
    • Think a couple moves ahead: You can sometimes figure out what path to go by checking if there will be a possible move from one of the squares. You may find that you’d be left with nowhere to go.
    • Not just minesweeper: You won’t always be able to plot out a path from the get-go, you’ll have to take all of the previous tips into account. As you move through the level, it’ll be easier to figure out whether the remaining squares are your path or mines.
    • Restart to get easier levels: As each level is randomly generated, the difficulty of the levels are also random to an extent. If you’re finding a particular level difficult to get through, restart until you get one that looks more favourable.
  • Use all the flags correctly on level K-10. No deaths or mistakes allowed.

Simple, complete the level indicated as normal, but do not place flags until you are sure there is a mine on a square. If you don’t place all the flags by the time you are one away from the exit, make sure you do so before you finish the level.

  • Use all the flags correctly on level ES-3. No deaths or mistakes allowed.

    See Sistematic

  • Use all the flags correctly on level JS-5. No deaths or mistakes allowed.

    See Sistematic

  • Sweep 500 blocks.

    See Genius Sweeper

  • Sweep 2000 blocks.

    See Genius Sweeper

  • Sweep 5000 blocks.

Depending on how often you failed levels, you may or may not have obtained this by the time you finish all of the levels to 3 stars. If you still need it, just replay levels until it unlocks.

  • Die 50 times.

    Mine, Body, Spirit

  • Die 150 times.

    Mine, Body, Spirit

  • Die 300 times.

Unless you have struggled with this game, you probably won’t have hit 300 deaths by the time you finish the game, so you’ll have to farm it. Simply replay any level and keep walking into mines until this pops.

  • Finish level M-10 without using any flags. No deaths allowed.

These challenges are trickier than the ones for correctly placing all flags, but you can exploit them to an extent by taking a photo of the screen and marking the flags on there as opposed to the screen if necessary. See The world was Mine... for general tips.

  • Finish level FS-3 without using any flags. No deaths allowed.

    See The philosopher's challenge

  • Finish level LS-5 without using any flags. No deaths allowed.

    See The philosopher's challenge

  • Finish level L-10 without letting Ari fall asleep. No deaths allowed.

Of the 3 kinds of challenges, these are the trickiest. Ari will fall asleep if you don’t move him for 15-20 seconds. Pausing the game, bringing up the XMB or constantly placing and unplacing flags will NOT prevent this from happening, so you’ll have to move quickly. You’ll have a little time to mark some flags but not much, so try to figure out as quickly as possible where to go next. If you figure out quickly where you need to go, use some of the time left to mark some more flags around the level. The general tips under The world was Mine... will help here, especially restarting until you get a board that looks favourable.

  • Finish level GS-4 without letting Ari fall asleep. No deaths allowed.

    See Caffeine

  • Finish level MS-5 without letting Ari fall asleep. No deaths allowed.

    See Caffeine

  • Read all the pages of the tutorial.

When in any level, press to open the tutorial, then scroll through the pages for this easy trophy.

  • Let Aristotle sleep 3 times on a single level.

Aristotle will fall asleep if you spend 15-20 seconds without moving him. Simply wait for that to happen on a square, move once, then repeat twice more to unlock this.

  • Use and clear lots of flags on a single level.

Another easy trophy, switch to flag mode and spam on any square until it pops.
