Introduction:
Metro Exodus is a FPS video game released in 2019. It is the third instalment in the Metro world, following Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light. Metro will have you shooting, scavenging materials, crafting items and weapons in order to survive the harsh post apocalyptic world. Much like the first two games, the enemies will range from humans to the unspeakable demons and mutants that roam the cities.
Trophy wise, the game holds the usual weapon related kills, enemy type kills and collectibles, as well as chapter specific events and the good/bad endings. There is difficulty related trophies too. A standard metro list that won't cause to much trouble.
General Tips and information:
- Gameplay is fairly sluggish, the aiming isn't great and the mechanics are generally lacking. However, it's much better than when it was first released and you will get used to it in no time.
- Exodus introduces some 'free roam' chapters. A welcome addition to the linear standard from the first two.
- Fall damage is horrendous, because you will die after falling just a couple of feet which is very frustrating so be careful and don't sprint downhill
- The Loading screens are long and all scenes are non skipable.
- In the desert chapter, you get a car but it handles poorly, can get stuck (causing a reload) and the glare from the sun through the windshield makes it a chore to drive.
- Luckily, you can farm the kill related trophies via a quick save - kill - reload save scenario which helps massively
- Collectibles can be done via chapter select if any are missed or carried over to NG+.
- On any difficulty above Reader, fire is pretty much an instant death. Avoid your own Molotovs and camp fires.
- You can use your bag to craft ammo and Medkits away from the work benches by pressing
+
.
- As mentioned above you can use your bag to craft certain items. However grenades, Molotov's, changing weapons and armour upgrades can only be done at a craft station.
- Craft stations can be found in safe houses across the maps and on the train.
- Be careful with your resources. On Reader difficulty it's not an issue but on the higher tiers you can find yourself in trouble during longer missions by running out of ammo or Medkits so use and plan wisely.
- Dismantle every weapon you find. These will give you ammo, resources and attachment unlocks for your weapons.
- Environment slows you down. Whether it be tall grass, snow, walking up hill or spiders webs. Keep this is mind when moving (like previous games, deal with those pesky webs by using the lighter by holding
+
.
Walkthrough:
Step 1: Play through on Reader difficulty. Getting all collectibles and chapter specific trophies. Aim for the Good ending
Play through on the easiest difficulty to learn the game. Concentrate on the collectibles, there’s 105 scattered across the game (any missed can be picked up via chapter select). Have a good read of the guide and get all the chapter specific requirements down so you don’t miss them. Some of these come way later in certain chapters so will require a chunky replay. Check out the requirements for the good ending too, there are 4 trophies related to gain this and is highly missable which will require a full play through.
Upon completing this step you will have earned the following trophies:

Step 2: Play the second play through on Ranger Hardcore with the bad ending or use the exploit to get both
If you didn’t play the first run on Ranger Hardcore (totally up to you) then now is the time for the second play through of the game. You will also need to get the opposite ending to what you did in the first run. You can also tie this in with NG+, which will make Ranger Hardcore slightly easier with weapons and armour access or you can use the exploit to revert back to version 1.0 and chapter jump to the finale. This will also get you the Bad ending and Mutation

Upon completing this step you will have earned the following trophies:
Hardcore

Eternal Voyage

Step 3: Clean up
If needed, now is the time to chapter select and get all your kills, weapon kills, car kills and anything else you've missed. You can farm kills by using checkpoints and reloading them.
Upon completing this step you will have earned the following trophies:
Righteous Vengeance

Carmoheddon

Tidyman

Handyman

Introduction:
It seems to be a running theme with games recently to add NG+. Metro have done this with a bit of a twist. Along with bringing over your upgrades and weapons, you can select a range of modifications. These can enhance the difficultly with harder enemies, limited use of work benches or the big one 'Iron Mode'. You will have to play this on Iron Mode which will count as a modification. You can play this on Reader to make it easier. There are only three collectibles in this DLC, all with multiple locations during their respective Chapter which can be collected via Chapter Select.
Walkthrough:
Step 1: Complete NG+ with Iron Mode enabled
If tied in to the main game this will be your second play through via NG+ selection. I recommend doing Iron Mode on reader as you can not save during missions and playing on normal or above will cause some cheap frustrating deaths causing a complete replay of chapters with unskippable cutscenes. With that in mind, this might be a third run or a second after using the exploit - depending on how you've tackled the game. Either way, complete the game on NG+ with Iron Mode selected (which counts as a modification). There are plenty of modifications to choose from so feel free to add others. Do not miss the collectibles, which are located on the 3 big open area chapters in various locations.
Upon completing this step you will have earned the following trophies:
Toy Seller

Mutation

Introduction:
Metro Exodus' first DLC as part of the season part brings the story of young Kirill and his father before the events in Exodus. The events takes place in the Novosibirsk Metro before the arrival of the Aurora Crew and follows the story of Colonel Khlebnikov. The story provides more details about the fall of Novosibirsk. This DLC brings the player back to the style of the original games. The Story DLCs are a great addition to the game and the ending brings it together with the main game in an an awesome touching way. Well worth the Season Pass.
How to play the DLC: You can play the DLC chapter at any point, it is right at the top of the list in the 'chapter select' section. It will carry over whichever difficulty you have been playing the main game in so keep that in mind when doing your Normal difficulty or above playthrough.
Walkthrough:
Step 1: Complete the DLC on any difficulty
Play through the chapter and enjoy. Just have fun with this one, look around and go for the collectibles too. Use the new flamethrower to melee kill the required beasts when the time comes.
Upon completing this step you will have earned the following trophies:
New Year

Duty and conscience

Father and son

Real Colonel

The whole picture

Mind you, it's quite heavy

Step 2: Play the DLC on Normal difficulty
Play on normal mode, avoiding thrown objects and with out using any Medkits so save often. Go into the last stage with as much health as possible. Since you have already played through once, you will have a good grasp on the level and were you need to be cautious.
Upon completing this step you will have earned the following trophies:
Dodge Master

and Trapper
will require a small replay of the chapter. Great Owl
and Music Lover
will carry over but you will still need to replay up to the missed items. Lord of war
weapon upgrades do not carry over so any missed will require a fresh playthrough.
- Glitched trophies: 4- A Man of Principle
, Untouchable
, Great Owl
and The Last Hero

Introduction:
Sam's Story takes place after the main game and continues to follow Sam's solo journey to find his homeland. It is set in one of the more open world feel chapters. It gives more character interaction and the chapter is fun, however it is extremely clunky and frustrating to play at times. This has a standard trophy list for a Metro game i.e. collectibles, upgrades and boss battle requirements.
Walkthrough:
Step 1: Play the chapter on Reader, collect all misc and collectible trophies and get the good ending
If you haven't played metro for a while, I recommend playing on Reader just to get the feel back for the game as it is very sluggish. Explore everywhere and collect all melodies/stashes and misc trophies. Stashes alone will also net you the weapon upgrades so it's a nice two in one. Read up on the captains trust too (including Trapper

Upon completing this step you will have earned the following trophies:
Cinephile

Trapper

The Last Hero

A Man of Principle

Great Owl

Music Lover

Lord of war

Step 2: Complete the chapter on Normal or above difficulty
You need to beat all 3 batwing encounters without dying. Reloading, closing down the game or anything else along those lines will not work so if you die once, the trophy is void - thus making this trophy a real pain. Check when each encounter is and upload your save first before starting it. You will have a good idea on how these fights work from Step 1 and how to approach them.
Upon completing this step you will have earned the following trophy:
Untouchable

PS4 and PS5 Buggy Trophies

There are also some reports of Great Owl

- Delete your save from the cloud (Make sure all other trophies have been achieved first) NOTE: This is probably not needed if you turn auto sync off after full reset.
- Synchronize trophies just in case.
- Perform a full factory reset. NOTE: This will delete all games and saves. Either transfer to an external HDD or upload to cloud.
- Set up the console with your account.
- Download the main game with Sam DLC only.
- Once downloaded, turn off your internet connection and play the DLC.
- After getting the missing trophies, turn the internet back on and synchronize. NOTE: With the internet off, it will show 0% on all trophies and you may even earn some main game ones. This is ok. During the synchronization all previously earned trophies will show up again.
