Section 02. Introduction
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater HD is an upscale from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Subsistence. Everything from that release is carried over, to include the first two original Metal Gear games. Fortunately all of the trophies are obtained in the campaign. To make it even better, all the trophies can be earned in a single playthrough and while playing on the easiest difficulty. Even on the easiest difficulty some of the trophies will require effort, but nothing too complicated.
This is not a comprehensive Trophy Guide for the Vita version of the game. Most of the data is exactly the same but for any Vita specific question you may have, please use the Trophy Guide and Roadmap in the Vita Forums.
Section 2.1 - Saving/Continuing/Retrying
To help people not skip out on any of the collectible trophies I will address saving/continuing/retrying. When you save your game, the game only records all data from before the area you are currently in. I.E. If you entered Ponizovje Warehouse Docks and killed The End, shot the Kerotan and collected the Cobalt Blue Spider then saved your game and exited the game. The kill, Kerotan, and Spider would not be recorded in your data. If you did all of the actions, exited the area and then saved your game; the game would have a record of doing all the above actions. On the same subject, if you were to do the three actions, die and select Retry; none of the above would be recorded in your data.
Section 2.2 - EU/PAL Version
WARNING: There are a few trophies that don't appear and affect people who play the EU/PAL version. The two trophies in question are Snake Eyes and The Cat's Out of the Bag. To mitigate the possibility of not obtaining these trophies, you should play on a HD TV with your resolution set to 720p.
Section 03. Walkthrough
As stated above, all the trophies can be earned in a single playthrough while on the easiest difficulty. However there are plenty of missable trophies and so I strongly advise to utilize multiple saves. The multiple saves will be used to allow you to backtrack if you may have skipped over one of the many collectibles. Aside from the collectibles, the biggest obstacle is earning a no-kill run.
One important thing to keep in mind is there are no rank requirements; aside from collectibles and a no-kill run. You can retry and cause as many alerts as you want, just keep your lethal weapons holstered; this goes for the bosses as well. One final piece of advice on why you should play on Very Easy difficulty; you will be equipped with the EZ Gun. This weapon has infinite ammunition and is a tranquilizer, making a no-kill run even easier.
- A One-Play Platinum guide is HERE.
Note: There is an ongoing issue with the one playthrough guide. For unspecified reasons some people are viewing the three posts that make up the guide out of order or not existing. If you are experiencing such an issue please check all the posts up to the second page to make sure one part of the guide is not there. If that doesn't sort the issue, then please clear your browser cache and try looking at the guide and if that doesn't resolve the issue then please try a different internet browser.
Section 03.1 First Playthrough
If you want to do it all in one go then you'll need to understand what's expected of you. Go ahead and start a New Game and put the difficulty on Very Easy to have access to a special weapon that destroys all difficulty. Another thing I suggest doing to avoid having a trophy glitch on you is selecting "I like MGS3" when the game asks you. Now when the game starts you'll be on Virtuous Mission, there are a handful of collectibles that you MUST secure before the end of the mission. Be sure to do everything in an area before moving on to the next. You should have a handful of trophies by the end of Virtuous Mission.
After the cutscenes you'll be on Operation Snake Eater, this is where most of the game takes place. Remember to use the collectible guides here for where things are and be sure you have earned them before finding yourself unable to backtrack. If you've cleared every requirement by the time you reach the score screen, you will earn various trophies to include the platinum.

Section 03.2 Cleanup
If you managed to miss something, load up your clear data and start the game over again. Most of the Face Paint and Camouflage collections carry over every playthrough; Mask (face), Officer (camo) and Maintenance (camo) do not. Each flora/fauna collection that counts towards the Markhor title must be done all over.
