Introduction:

So Bioware gave us a fourth trophy list.  Fortunately, all of the trophies in this list track your progress across the whole trilogy.  I'm writing this assuming that each numbered trophy correlates to that number game.  So Insanity I and Paramour I both apply to Mass Effect 1.  You'll get the kills trophies as you progress through the games.  The only one that you kind of need to go out of way for are the melee kills.  Don't attempt to grind this in ME1.  The melee is terrible.

Walkthrough:

1.0 - Play and Complete Mass Effect 1

See the Mass Effect 1 trophy guide.  To do this most efficiently, play on Insanity and make sure to do one of the romances.

Trophies that you'll unlock in this step:

Paramour I trophy_bronze.png

2.0 - Play and Complete Mass Effect 2

See the Mass Effect 2 trophy guide.  To do this most efficiently, play on Insanity and make sure to do one of the romances.  You don't have to romance the same person you did in Mass Effect 1.  In fact, you can't.  You have to romance someone different.  If you don't want to romance someone different, make a back up save before going through the Omega 4 relay.  After completing the game, go back and romance someone.  You can progress it by doing some of the side missions.

Trophies that you'll unlock in this step:

Paramour II trophy_bronze.png
Soldier trophy_bronze.png

3.0 - Play and Complete Mass Effect 3

See the Mass Effect 3 trophy guide.  To do this most efficiently, play on Insanity and make sure to do one of the romances.

Trophies that you'll unlock in this step:

  • Complete Mass Effect 1, 2 or 3 on Insanity without changing difficulty

Insanity is available right now in this version..  What follows are Insanity tips for each of the main missions.  Generally, save as often as you can.  Utilizing your squadmate’s powers in combination with your own can be a lifesaver and make things easier.  Armor Piercing Rounds and Anti-Personnel Rounds are incredibly useful, even if they are level I or II.  As you progress, Tungsten, Shredder, and Proton Rounds are all very useful.

Keep your distance as much as you can from enemies, especially those that rush you.  Geth and most organic enemies are easy.  Krogans, Husks, Rachni, and Creepers are all problems since they can quickly kill you if they get close.  Also, snipers and rockets will kill you in one shot, no matter how good your armor is.
    • Save often.
    • Always stay in cover. If you’re hurt, use first aid or stay down in cover to restore your shields.  Cover is wonky in ME1.  Just be sure if you're behind a shorter wall, to crouch using l3.png.
    • A sniper rifle can be your best friend. You can hang back and get head shots. Running and gunning with assault rifles and pistols got me into trouble. The sniper rifle would get me out of trouble. I ended up using it more often than all of the other weapons combined.
    • Utilize your powers and your squadmate’s powers effectively. You’re not going to shoot your way through. Use the biotic and tech powers to your advantage.
    • Watch out for grenades. They do get a little spammy at times. When you see an indicator, back away from the grenade as safely as possible. Cerberus use the grenades the most. The geth don’t use them at all. With the reapers, it depends on which enemies you get. Cannibals do, banshees and marauders generally don’t.
    • Pay attention to the movements of your enemies. They will try to flank you.
    • Husks are not your friends. Don’t get swarmed. If they’re the only enemies, don’t stay in cover. Move around so that you don’t get yourself trapped.
    • AI Hacking is going to be incredibly useful, especially later in the game with stronger enemies.  If you don't have that available in your upgrade tree, upgrade Tali's hacking abilities to get this.  You'll be fighting Geth for most of the game, so the more that you can hack them, the better.
    • Make use of the mods and ammo types that you can buy or find.  You can swap them out at any time depending on if you're fighting organics or synthetics.
    • Snipers are the worst in this game.  Fortunately, you can see their laser.  But if you stay exposed for too long, they will one shot you.
  • Complete two games in Mass Effect Legendary Edition on Insanity without changing difficulty

This is probably the toughest Insanity mode.  The same basic tips apply
    • Save often.
    • Stay in cover as much as you can. If you’re hurt, use first aid or stay down in cover to restore your shields.
    • However, it is sometimes beneficial to move around between covers and run away to get a better position.  If you're dealing with Husks, Abominations, or Praetorians, it's helpful to put some distance between yourself and them.

    • Husks and Abominations are not your friends. Don’t get swarmed. If they’re the only enemies, don’t stay in cover. Move around so that you don’t get yourself trapped.
    • Make use of your heavy weapons, particularly against larger enemies like Ymir mechs.
    • Warp Ammo is one of the most useful items that you can get.  It's very versatile.  You acquire the ability from Jack's loyalty mission.
  • Complete all three games in Mass Effect Legendary Edition on Insanity without changing difficulty

As soon as you can switch to Insanity, be sure to do so and not change it for the rest of the game.  It was the first I did when getting control of Shepard.
    • Save often.
    • Always stay in cover. If you’re hurt, use first aid or stay down in cover to restore your shields.

    • Husks are not your friends. Don’t get swarmed. If they’re the only enemies, don’t stay in cover. Move around so that you don’t get yourself trapped.
    • Hotkeying is your friend. Make sure that first aid is one of three shortcuts that you can assign. You will save precious seconds. Also, if one of your squadmates can be revived while you’re in cover, be careful. Once he/she is revived, you will be out of cover and vulnerable.
    • Know your enemy. The different types all have different strengths and weaknesses and they will test you in multiple ways.
    • If you're dealing with lots of Reaper type enemies, then you'll need a good mix of abilities to cover barrier, shields, and armor.  Cerberus only has one enemy that has barrier, and they don't appear until late in the game.  The Geth have no barriers, but lots of shields and armor.
    • Watch for heavy weapons.  If they're around, it will make a huge difference.  Brutes, Banshees, Ravagers, Harvesters and Geth Primes are tough on their own, but if you can find a heavy weapon around, it can kill them very quickly so you can focus on the other enemies.
    • Be on the lookout for barrier engines (usually on the ceilings) and shield pylons (always on the ground). If you see enemies that don’t normally have shields or barriers, then one or more of those are around. Destroy them the first chance that you get. One well placed sniper round always does the trick.
  • Establish a romantic relationship in Mass Effect 1, 2 or 3

(Missable) Mass Effect 1 - The romantic options in this game are more limited than the other two games. As with the others, talk to whichever character that you want to be with between each mission. They’ll ask you at some point how you feel about them and then you’ll have sex with him/her on the way to Ilos. The romance scene takes place on the way to Ilos.

    Male Shepherd
    • Ashley
    • Liara
    Female Shepherd
    • Kaiden
    • Liara
  • Establish or rekindle a romantic relationship in two games in Mass Effect Legendary Edition

(Missable) Mass Effect 2 - In between story missions (not side missions), talk to your teammates and explore every available dialogue option. Once you decide which crewmember you want to pursue, talk to them after each mission until the conversation repeats over and over. If you converse with one of them enough, then you'll see the two of them "share" a moment en route to the suicide mission.

If you want to keep your relationship from Mass Effect, but still want the trophy, there is an easy way to go about this.  Make a backup save before going through the Omega Relay.  At this point, you should have completed everyone's loyalty missions.  Talk to whichever character you want to romance and choose the flirtiest options.  Do one of the smaller planetary missions, then talk to them again.  That will be enough to progress to the next conversation.  Repeat that process again to lock in the romance.  This should only take two extra missions, but you may need more.

Note: If you romanced Liara in ME1, rekindling your romance with her at the end of Shadow Broker will not unlock this trophy.

    Male Shepherd
    • Miranda
    • Jack
    • Tali
    Female Shepherd
    • Jacob
    • Thane
    • Garrus
  • Establish or rekindle a romantic relationship in all three games in Mass Effect Legendary Edition

(Missable) Mass Effect 3 - Your choices in Mass Effect: Genesis and Mass Effect 2 will heavily come into play here. Depending on who you romanced previously, they will need to be alive in Mass Effect 3. Talk to them between each mission. Talk to them when you visit the Citadel. Eventually, they will ask to go up to your cabin. Invite them up and complete the scene.

If you go for rekindling a romance with a character that is not a permanent squadmate, then this will not take very long to get. Once they are on the Normandy, they will want to go up to your cabin, so invite them and say that you want to be with them.

If you chose to romance Ashley, Liara, or Kaiden in Mass Effect: Genesis and then went for another character in Mass Effect 2, you will have the opportunity to restart the relationship with Ashley, Liara, or Kaiden. Just apologize when given the opportunity.

    Male Romantic Options:
    • Liara
    • Ashley (Only if she survived Virmire in Mass Effect 1)
    • Kaiden (Only if he survived Virmire in Mass Effect 1)
    • Tali (Only if you romanced her in Mass Effect 2)
    • Miranda (Only if you romanced her in Mass Effect 2)
    • Diana Allers
    • Steven Cortez
    Female Romantic Options:
    • Liara
    • Kaiden (Only if he survived Virmire in Mass Effect 1)
    • Garrus (Only if you romanced him in Mass Effect 2)
    • Thane (Only if you romanced him in Mass Effect 2)
    • Diana Allers
    • Samantha Traynor
  • Finish Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3 with the same character

Once you create your character, complete Mass Effect 1, then import them to Mass Effect 2.  Repeat the same process from 2 to 3.  This can be done on any difficulty.

  • Kill 250 enemies in Mass Effect 1, 2 or 3

Because kills from all three games count, getting to 250 will be extremely easy.  You will not need to farm this at all.  Both organic and synthetic enemies killed across all playthroughs will count.  If you die, your kills will still count.  This will unlock pretty early on in Mass Effect 1.
  • Kill 1,000 enemies in Mass Effect 1, 2 or 3

Because kills from all three games count, getting to 1,000 will be extremely easy.  You will not need to farm this at all.  Both organic and synthetic enemies killed across all playthroughs will count.  If you die, your kills will still count.   If this does not unlock in Mass Effect 1, it should unlock early in Mass Effect 2.

  • Kill 2,000 enemies in Mass Effect 1, 2 or 3

Because kills from all three games count, getting to 2,000 will be extremely easy.  You will not need to farm this at all.  Both organic and synthetic enemies killed across all playthroughs will count.  If you die, your kills will still count.   If this does not unlock during Mass Effect 2, it will unlock in Mass Effect 3.

  • Kill 100 enemies with melee attacks in Mass Effect 1, 2 or 3

Run up to an enemy and push DZ0QxtaQ_r89Spy_w4syQEkf8mHUAEFxzCDdJab-DKvUgUOylf8XqKwk72SwZUeaMTigIC3a01RCXAkmlspAmhbIXjkKxB2hCVr70gkDDE8zvJElm0_Onj1LzaMPvAHUZ_PzLkZX to melee kill them. Melee attacks don’t do very much damage, so you will have to hit them multiple times for them to die. You can also use the heavy melee (hold Xfhfeymb2nxVeJFAuHK5s9OG9MCrqRluSH9_wm4cWjxxJWgrLuFDJVBNH0teKKaD4HjyhaWklK-Ru2si-fE3oLIwcvbzKkZ5KECdi1k3baJHBk5MO2X0K9ylTj3KHqN9gremY1sY ) in ME3 to do more damage and kill them quicker. Repeat for 100 enemies. You’ll easily get this without having to farm for kills.. All playthroughs across all three games add to your total number of melee kills. Also, if you die after performing a melee kill, that will count as well.

The melee attack in ME1 is pretty weak and the only enemies that rush you are the husks.  I recommend working on this more in ME2 and ME3.  The melees are better and you'll have more enemies that get close to you.
