Ancient tool, new purpose Trophy in Lords of the Fallen

Defeated the Judge with a weapon dropped by the Keeper

How to unlock Ancient tool, new purpose

Refer to the main story trophy guide for strategies on defeating the Judge.

You first want to complete the entire DLC mission and defeat the Keeper then upon defeat, it will drop a weapon. The weapon drop depends on which element the Keeper started with.

To complete the DLC in one go, you must defeat the Keeper with fire as the first element. This causes a weapon that requires 26 faith to be dropped. If you do not meet that requirement, then my advice is to make a save prior to starting the Keeper fight. Exit the game and back up your save to USB or Cloud. Restart the game and defeat the Keeper to obtain Played with fire then reload your save from a USB drive/the PS+ Save File Cloud. Restart the game and change the first element to get the weapon drop that you do meet the requirements for.

This is the list of which element drops which weapon:

    • Lightning (yellowish glyph): Lithic Rising (Fist) - Requires 32 strength to use
    • Ice (purplish glyph): Scalpel (Polesword) - Requires 28 agility to use
    • Fire (reddish glyph): Between (Greataxe) - Requires 26 faith to use

If you have the required stats for your weapon drop, proceed to the end game boss. If you are already sitting at the last save point before the Judge, when you exit the DLC area you can proceed directly to the boss. You do not have to use the weapon for the entire fight. You can use your preferred weapon the entire time and use the Keeper weapon for the killing blow. Make sure you do not accidentally kill the Judge with fire or poison!

The trophy will pop shortly after the 1st cinematic that follows the Judge's defeat.
