Welcome to the long-awaited Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX, containing two much-loved games made by none other than the RPG masters themselves, Square Enix. The first title you'll be sinking your teeth into is Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, which takes place one year after Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. The player is introduced to many new characters, we see more of the Organization XIII, and Sora goes on another adventure with Donald and Goofy. With an engaging story, a vastly superior battle system, more new Disney worlds to explore and much more side content thanks to this being the previously Japan-exclusive Final Mix version, if you missed the HD 1.5 ReMIX then this is the perfect starting point in the franchise for newcomers what with it being regarded as the best title in the franchise.

Much like the trophy lists for the two titles in the HD 1.5 ReMIX, the trophy list in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix does the game justice by having the player explore and complete just about all of the main and side content the game has to offer. Players of the original Kingdom Hearts Final Mix in the previous HD collection will notice many similarities in the trophy list – Gummi Ship missions return, despite being much easier this time around and not all of them must be completed. Jimmy's Journal must be filled up once again, the (many) side bosses must be defeated, Olympus Coliseum cups must be won and the game must be finished on the new Critical Mode difficulty. The content presents enough difficulty to leave a fair challenge, but not enough to cause frustration, making the an enjoyable journey.

Roadmap Note:
Thanks to the difficulty trophies now stacking unlike the original HD collection, you have two options to approaching this :

  • Faster but more difficult method: Start on Critical and earn every trophy in one playthrough on that difficulty. This means defeating all optional bosses, tournaments and Mushroom XIII on Critical mode.
  • Longer but easier method: Start on Beginner or Standard and enjoy the story, doing all of the post-game content on that playthrough, then speedrunning Critical at the end.

This roadmap is built around your enjoyment of the game first and the trophies later. Furthermore, unless you want the extra challenge, you will save a lot of frustration by just doing the optional content on Standard. As such, this roadmap will follow the second method, which is recommended for first-time players of the game. For returning fans, you may enjoy the new challenge of playing on Critical mode first. Whether you want to go on to fight the optional bosses and post-game content on that same difficulty however is up to you.

I – Enjoy the game on Standard
Unlike the previous HD collection, difficulty trophies now stack, so if you really wanted to, you could go ahead and start the game on Critical Mode right away to get the in one playthrough. However, it is recommended to simply start the game on Standard (or Proud, if you'd like) and simply enjoy the game in your first playthrough. You'll earn plenty of story-related trophies along the way, and if you're new it'll also help you get your bearings with the updated combat and new worlds to prepare for your Critical playthrough. Along the way, you'll earn the following trophies at least:

Summer's End
A Budding Romance
Above Honor
Hail the Hero
A Timeless World
Kindred Spirits
Lifting the Curse
The Gift of Love
What Friends Are For
Return of the King
Electric Spark
Always Together
Reunion
My Hero
Ambitious Adventurer

II - Post-game content
Note: Steps II and III are interchangeable. You can jump straight into your Critical playthrough and return to your Standard save for post-game content, or do that first and speedrun Critical to the last.

This is where the real bulk of your playtime will spent, and some parts may be the make-or-break factor of earning the . There is a LOT to do in this step – Synthesis, Coliseum cups, Mushroom XIII, puzzles, treasure chests, Gummi Ship missions and maxing Sora's level to name a few. It is best to leave the optional bosses for last, as tackling them at max level will naturally make it less of a challenge. You can technically do this in any order you wish; but the recommended order of post-game content goes as follows:

  • Maxing Drive Forms and Summons
  • Puzzle pieces
  • Mushroom XIII
  • Synthesis
  • Missions
  • Sora Lvl. 99
  • Coliseum Cups
  • Cavern of Remembrance
  • Gummi Ship blueprint collection
  • Tying up loose ends (anything you missed or held off for later)

For any concerns about Jiminy's Journal completion, please refer to the Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix ~ Jiminy's Journal Completion Guide (courtesy of Eric-B14). Also see here: LINK for more info on the individual missions (credit to PapasitoPenguin).

III - Critical Mode playthrough
Now that you have your bearings of the game, you should move directly onto Critical Mode. On this mode, enemies are stronger, and you level up slower. However, you are given access to useful items early in the game which, quite honestly, get rid of any major problems this difficulty will pose. Speedrun through the game again and upon completing it, assuming you didn't start off on Proud Mode, you will unlock two trophies when the credits roll:

Proud Player
Critical Competitor

51 trophies ( 40  17  )

  • Get Sora to Level 99.

For this trophy, Sora's level needs to reach the maximum it can be, Level 99. Donald and Goofy's level do not affect the trophy at all.

Reaching Level 99 will not come naturally to you in your playthrough, as it requires a whopping 2,881,715 EXP to max Sora's level. Unfortunately, with the Pride Rock method being nerfed in the Final Mix version of the game (which would have otherwise reduced the grind to an hour at best), we now have no option but to grind for this the old-fashioned way, with the method detailed below.

Equip the Gull Wing Keyblade to Sora (if you don't have this Keyblade already, return to the Postern in Radiant Garden after the events of the Battle of the 1000 Heartless and the Gullwing trio will give it to you after a cutscene). This Keyblade's ability will double Sora's experience intake when his health is at half or lower. Next equip the Experience Boost ability for 4AP, which has the same effect. Finally, un-equip Donald's healing ability completely. Head to Twilight's View save point at The World That Never Was, and proceed into the next room, allowing the Nobodies to attack you until your health is at half or less. Once it is, start fighting the enemies as normal. You'll notice that each enemy defeated will give out almost 2,000 EXP or more. Proceed to the next room, and continue fighting every Nobody you come across until you reach the Proof of Existence save point. Enter the two portals here which originally led to two boss fights in the story, and defeat the extra Nobodies here. Once all that is finished, leave the world via the save point and re-enter the Twilight's View save point, repeating the whole process again.

If you find your health is reaching dangerous levels at any point, use Curega, and allow the enemies to bring your HP to half health again. Un-equipping Donald's healing move isn't a necessity, but considering he heals Sora as soon as Sora reaches the danger level of health, it'd be a constant distraction from the fighting, so un-equip to avoid some headache. Using this method, it is possible to earn 70,000+ EXP per 5-10 minute run, assuming you try to defeat each Nobody before Donald and Goofy do, or at least provide the finishing blow. Level 99 isn't such a tiresome grind using this method, and should only take a few hours at most.

  • Win the Pain and Panic Cup.

The Pain and Panic Cup is the first cup you can participate in and becomes available after Timeless River is completed, with the enemy level cap at 20. However it is always beneficial to be a few levels above the cap to give yourself an advantage in battle. Each round and its enemies are listed below:

    • Match 1: Shadow x4, Hook Bat x4
    • Match 2: Large Body x1, Minute Bomb x4
    • Match 3: Rabid Dog x5, Soldier x2
    • Match 4: Shadow x4, Hot Rod x2
    • Match 5: Rapid Thruster x5, Hook Bat x5, Bolt Tower x1
    • Match 6: Gargoyle Warrior x3, Minute Bomb x4, Lance Soldier x2
    • Match 7: Soldier x2, Aeroplane x5, Rabid Dog x1, Assault Rider x2
    • Match 8: Survive until the match ends
    • Match 9: Gargoyle Knight x2, Creeper Plant x4
    • Match 10: Leon and Yuffie

Also see here: LINK (credit to PapasitoPenguin for this).

  • Win the Cerberus Cup.

The Cerberus Cup is the second cup you can participate in and becomes available after the Pride Lands are completed for the first time, with the enemy level cap at 30. However it is always beneficial to be a few levels above the cap to give yourself an advantage in battle. Each round and its enemies are listed below:

    • Match 1: Trick Ghost x2, Air Pirate x2
    • Match 2: Driller Mole x4, Hammer Frame x3
    • Match 3: Tornado Step x3, Wight Knight x3
    • Match 4: Living Bone x1, Silver Rock x4
    • Match 5: Fiery Globe x5, Shaman x1, Icy Cube x5
    • Match 6: Aerial Knocker x2, Fortuneteller x2
    • Match 7: Toy Soldier x1, Cannon Gun x3
    • Match 8: Luna Bandit x5
    • Match 9: Fat Bandit x1, Emerald Blues x4
    • Match 10: Cerberus

Don't be afraid to abuse the Drive Gauge here as it charges ridiculously quickly. There is also a time limit of 5 minutes with 15 seconds added to the clock for each round you complete. You will need some time for the last match so try to be as quick as possible. Also see here: LINK (credit to PapasitoPenguin for this).

  • Win the Titan Cup.

The Titan Cup is the third cup you can participate in and becomes available after you complete Olympus Coliseum for the second time, with the enemy level cap at 45. However it is always beneficial to be a few levels above the cap to give yourself an advantage in battle. Each round and its enemies are listed below:

    • Match 1: Magnum Loader x2, Dusk x3
    • Match 2: Morning Star x1, Assassin x3
    • Match 3: Berserker x2, Strafer x3
    • Match 4: Trick Ghost x3, Sniper x2
    • Match 5: Dancer x3, Neoshadow x3
    • Match 6: Air Pirate x2, Dragoon x2, Bookmaster x1
    • Match 7: Crimson Jazz x2, Samurai x2
    • Match 8: Minute Bomb x3, Sniper x2, Assassin x2
    • Match 9: Berserker x2, Dancer x2, Devastator x1
    • Match 10: Hercules

Sora can only use Summons in the tournament, but thankfully there is no time limit like last time. Every enemy drops points in this tournament; if your counter depletes to 0, then you immediately lose the match. Also see here: LINK (credit to PapasitoPenguin for this).

  • Win the Goddess of Fate Cup.

The Goddess of Fate is the fourth cup you can participate in and becomes available after you have completed all previous tournaments and have beaten the final boss at least once, with the enemy level cap at 55. However it is always beneficial to be a few levels above the cap to give yourself an advantage in battle. Each round and its enemies are listed below:

    • Match 1: 1x Morning Star, 2x Emerald Blues, 2x Sniper, 4x Morning Star
    • Match 2: 3x Hammer Frame, 1x Living Bone
    • Match 3: 3x Creeper Plant, 1x Toy Soldier
    • Match 4: 2x Nightwalker, 2x Crimson Jazz
    • Match 5: 4x Shaman, 2x Assassin, 3x Devastator
    • Match 6: 1x Fat Bandit, 1x Devastator
    • Match 7: 2x Lance Soldier, 2x Assault Rider
    • Match 8: Endless Rapid Thrusters
    • Match 9: 2x Bolt Tower, 2x Hot Rod
    • Match 10: Hades with Hammer Frames

Also see here: LINK (credit to PapasitoPenguin for this).

  • Collect all Ansem Reports in Jiminy's Journal.

For this trophy, every one of Ansem's Reports must be collected. All of these reports come naturally to you as you progress through the story, so upon completing the game and entering post-game, go to Ansem's Reports in Jiminy's Journal and the trophy will unlock.

Please check the Kingdom Hearts II FINAL MIX ~ Jiminy's Journal Completion Guide for a complete guide.

  • Collect all Character entries in Jiminy's Journal.

For this trophy, every Character entry must be unlocked. This trophy will be one of your last, because although you earned the vast majority of the entries through natural story progression, all Organization XIII members and the Lingering Will have character entries as well. This trophy will not unlock until you are close to earning the in the game.

Please check the Kingdom Hearts II FINAL MIX ~ Jiminy's Journal Completion Guide for a complete guide.

  • Collect all Heartless entries in Jiminy's Journal.

For this trophy, every Heartless entry must be unlocked. These will come fairly naturally to you assuming you don't rush through all of the worlds; the only entries you will not get naturally are the Mushroom XIII, but considering you must do these anyway for Mushroom Master, this trophy will be one of your first Journal-related trophies.

Please check the Kingdom Hearts II FINAL MIX ~ Jiminy's Journal Completion Guide for a complete guide.

  • Collect all Nobody entries in Jiminy's Journal.

For this trophy, every Nobody entry must be unlocked. This will definitely come naturally to you since there are much fewer Nobodies than Heartless in the game. The only ones you may potentially miss are exclusive to the Olympus Coliseum tournaments, but even so this trophy will unlock fairly early.

Please check the Kingdom Hearts II FINAL MIX ~ Jiminy's Journal Completion Guide for a complete guide.

  • Collect all Treasures in Jiminy's Journal.

For this trophy, every treasure chest must be opened. Treasure chests are scattered around the worlds and hold different items. Some can be quite well-hidden, but the majority are out in the open. This is another trophy that will be one of your last because many treasure chests require maxed Drive Forms to access, and the last treasure chest in Hollow Bastion requires you to defeat all Organization XIII members before it will become available in the Garden of Assemblage. As soon as you have opened every chest, go to the Treasures tab in the Journal and the trophy will unlock.

Please check the Kingdom Hearts II FINAL MIX ~ Jiminy's Journal Completion Guide for a complete guide.

  • Complete all Puzzles in Jiminy's Journal.

For this trophy, every puzzle must be completed. Puzzles are a Final Mix exclusive mini-game. Pieces can be found in all of the worlds, and you can go to the Puzzles tab in the journal at any time to further your progress. The puzzles are like jigsaws of artwork of the game, and as soon as you complete one you'll unlock a rare item. There are five puzzles altogether; the first two are easy enough, but the last three can be quite challenging, some having over 60 pieces in total. Once you complete the final puzzle, the trophy will unlock.

Please check the Kingdom Hearts II FINAL MIX ~ Jiminy's Journal Completion Guide for a complete guide.

  • Collect all Maps in Jiminy's Journal.

For this trophy, every map in every world must be collected. Maps are usually fairly easy to find, and always lay in the big treasure chests as opposed to the smaller ones. Most are found on the main story path. The only maps that can be easily missed are the three in the Cavern of Remembrance, which are found in the Mining Area, Mineshaft and Garden of Assemblage areas as you progress.

Please check the Kingdom Hearts II FINAL MIX ~ Jiminy's Journal Completion Guide for a complete guide.

  • Collect all Mission entries in Jiminy's Journal.

For this trophy, every Mission must be completed. This will also be one of your last journal-related trophies. There a lot of Missions to do, with many in each world. Don't bother going for this until you complete the game so every Mission is unlocked and ready to start. The vast majority of Missions are very simple and you'll probably only have to replay the mini-game or section once more to unlock it, but considering each of the Mushroom XIII and optional bosses in the game have their Mission, it will be a while until the trophy unlocks.

Please check the Kingdom Hearts II FINAL MIX ~ Jiminy's Journal Completion Guide for a complete guide. Also see here: LINK (credit to PapasitoPenguin for this).

  • Collect all Minigame entries in Jiminy's Journal.

For this trophy, every minigame must be complete at least once. There are a lot of minigames, many of which you will play naturally in the story and will have to replay again anyway for Missions. As such, this can be completed at any time.

Please check the Kingdom Hearts II FINAL MIX ~ Jiminy's Journal Completion Guide for a complete guide. Also see here: LINK (credit to PapasitoPenguin for this).

  • Collect all Limit entries in Jiminy's Journal.

For this trophy, every Limit must be used at least once. There are a number of Limits in the game, most of them being exclusive to a world, and as such it is quite easy to ignore them entirely as you play. Thankfully you can easily keep track of which have been used by looking at them in the journal, so this trophy is another easy one – just return to the world or place where you missed a Limit, use it once and carry on.

Please check the Kingdom Hearts II FINAL MIX ~ Jiminy's Journal Completion Guide for a complete guide.

  • Collect all Synthesis Note entries in Jiminy's Journal.

For this trophy, the synthesis notes in the journal must be completed. Synthesis returns in this game but thankfully there is much less grinding than in the original game if you take some precautions. You can do this whenever you want in the game but it is recommended you leave it until post-game or at least late in the game because enemy spawns are changed after a certain story-related fight which actually make the material grinding easier.

Please check the Kingdom Hearts II FINAL MIX ~ Jiminy's Journal Completion Guide for a complete guide.

  • Collect all Character Link entries in Jiminy's Journal.

For this trophy all Character Links must be unlocked. The majority will be unlocked as you progress through the story however you will unlock this trophy pretty late on your way to the as all Organization XIII members, Mushroom XIII members and the Lingering Will must be defeated to complete the links.

Please check the Kingdom Hearts II FINAL MIX ~ Jiminy's Journal Completion Guide for a complete guide.

  • Obtain 5,000 points with skateboard tricks.

For this trophy you must rack up at least a score of at least 5000 using tricks while using the skateboard. This cannot be done during the Roxas prologue. This trophy can only be earned in the skateboard mini-game at either Hollow Bastion or Halloweentown.

In Hollow Bastion, you can simply go to the stairs leading up to the Bailey and simply endlessly grind between the two walls to your left and right on the skateboard, however this is a pretty tedious process. An easier and faster method (despite having the pressure of a time limit) can be used in Halloween Town. After completing the first episode of that world, speak to Lock at Yuletide Hill to initiate the mini-game. Immediately jump and spam all the way over to the chutes at the other side of the room, and when you've reached the top of the middle chute, start spamming the button like crazy. You should conveniently 'float' above the chute and be able to endlessly spam the button until the challenge ends, racking up points for every button press. Doing this, you should just be able to spam enough to be able to reach 5000 points.

It may take a little bit of practice (and your thumb might get a little sore after a while!) but you should be able to earn the trophy no problem.

(Thanks to rhinoyen of YouTube for the visual explanation of the Halloween Town method.)

  • Win by obtaining all of the opponent's orbs.

This trophy is unlocked by playing Struggle, a mini-game only available in the Sandlot in Twilight Town. This can be unlocked as early as Roxas in the prologue, during the Struggle tournament. This is easiest to pull off against Hayner, as he is the slowest of the four competitors. Simply bash him repeatedly until you get all of his orbs and run away until the time is up. This is possible again later as Sora but not until near the end of the game when Twilight Town becomes available again. Hayner will still be an easy match, and as such should cause no problems.

  • Obtain an S rank on a gummi ship mission.

This trophy unlocks by completing just one route and obtaining an S rank in it in the Gummi Ship. You will definitely unlock this on the way to Ace Pilot, so read that for further details.

  • Obtain an S rank on a gummi ship mission for all routes.

This trophy is unlocked by completing a mission on every route with an S rank in the Gummi Ship. Something that catches a lot of people out is that unlike the original game which had us completing all of the 30 Gummi Ship missions available in the game, this trophy is asking us to only complete a mere nine missions total, as the description says 'complete a mission' and not 'complete every mission'.

With that said, much like the original, every route in the game has three missions each, all with a similar requirement. Mission 1 always asks you to collect a set amount of medals, Mission 2 always asks you to shoot down a set number of enemy ships, and Mission 3 always asks you to reach a certain high score. Mission 2's requirements vary from route to route, whereas Mission 1 and 3's requirements are always consistent, being 30 medals and 1,000,000 points respectively.

Instead of doing whatever mission takes your fancy, it's highly recommended you do every Mission 2 on each route as Gummi Ship blueprints are unlocked only in these missions, which are required for Gummi Ship Collector.

    The ultimate set-up:
There is a Gummi Ship set-up that is near foolproof to getting an easy S rank on every mission, and is nicknamed the 'Donut' ship. Since the vast majority of enemies aim for the certain of your ship during gameplay, if you make a ship where its frame is built in the farthest corners from each other, almost all bullets will miss you, refer to this excellent video by Bizkit047 for a detailed video how-to on this ship.

  • Obtain all blueprints.

For this trophy you need to unlock every single blueprint in the game. Most blueprints are unlocked naturally as you progress through the game, and the last few are unlocked by getting an S rank on Mission 2 on every Gummi Ship route. The only exception to this is Assault of the Dreadnought where you must get an S rank on all three missions.

Secret trophies

  • Obtain all trophies.

Congratulations on earning the prestigious platinum trophy for Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix! You are the true Keyblade master – but Sora's adventures aren't over yet!

  • Clear game on Critical.

This trophy will unlock upon defeating the final boss of the game and watching the ending cutscene on at least Critical mode. Unlike the previous Kingdom Hearts games, this can be stacked with the lower difficulties, so you could potential earn Critical Competitor, Proud Player and Ambitious Adventurer in one fell swoop should you start the game first playthrough on Critical mode.

On Critical mode, the differences from Standard are as follows:

    • Enemies deal twice as much damage
    • AP increases in increments of 2 instead of 3
    • HP and MP increases are halved
    • Roxas begins with 50 AP
    • EXP is gained at 3/4 of the normal amount

This would make Critical a fairly challenging mode. However, the game shoots itself in the foot by offering these bonuses to the player on the third day of the prologue:

    • Reaction Boost (action command damage increased)
    • Finishing Plus (adds more finishing moves to a combo)
    • Draw (more orbs gravitate towards you faster)
    • 2x Lucky Lucky (increases drop rate)
    • MP Hastera (MP replenishes at a much faster rate)

The game also awards you with EXP Zero, which stops enemies from dropping any EXP. This, however, is only for those who want to challenge themselves to a Level 1 run of the game. These all prove to be incredibly useful Abilities, some of which aren't learned until much later in the game on lower difficulties. Critical mode will still be challenging, but these Abilities can really break the difficulty and lessen the frustration that may come.

  • Clear game on Proud.

This trophy will unlock upon defeating the final boss of the game and watching the ending cutscene on at least Proud mode. Unlike the previous Kingdom Hearts games, this can be stacked with Critical mode so read Critical Competitor for more details.

  • Clear the game and watch the ending sequence.

This trophy will unlock upon defeating the final boss of the game and watching the ending cutscene. The level of difficulty you are playing on does not matter, and you will get this in your first playthrough.

  • Get rescued by the King.

For this trophy, you must have the King rescue you in a boss fight. This is only possible during ten specific boss fights, but it is not missable, as the tenth boss fight can be repeated indefinitely. The King only appears once Sora's HP is completely depleted. On the continue screen, choose “Don't give up!” and King Mickey will re-appear in the battle. You must then revive Sora with the command given. Once Sora is revived, the trophy will unlock.

You will more than likely unlock this naturally, if not on your first playthrough then definitely during your Critical playthrough. The ten storyline fights where Mickey's rescue can happen are listed below.

    1. Shan Yu – Land of Dragons
    2. Threshold and Posessor – Beast's Castle
    3. Shadow Stalker – Beast's Castle
    4. Dark Thorn – Beast's Castle
    5. Cerberus (first fight) – Olympus Coliseum
    6. Volcanic Lord and Blizzard Lord – Agrabah
    7. Storm Rider – Land of Dragons
    8. Xaldin – Beast's Castle
    9. Grim Reaper (first fight) – Port Royal
    10. Xemnas (first fight) – The World That Never Was (can be repeated in post-game indefinitely)
  • Defeat the Lingering Will.

This trophy is unlocked for defeating the optional boss in the game, Lingering Will. Lingering Will can first be fought once every world in the game has been cleared (100 Acre Woods included) and the final boss has been defeated. Go to the Hall of the Cornerstone and there will be a large portal on the wall behind it (Chip and Dale will contact you in the Gummi Ship when it first becomes available). Going through this portal issues an intense cutscene and the boss fight.

Before fighting the Lingering Will, ensure you have most if not all of the following:

    • Sora at least at Level 80 (Level 99 is heavily recommended, but optional)
    • At least 80 ATK (100 would be more beneficial)
    • Ultima Weapon (MP Hastega is highly beneficial for this fast-paced fight)
    • All Drive Forms maxed

Difficulty-wise, Lingering Will is the most challenging optional boss in the game. He has almost a dozen bars of health, is incredibly fast and can combo you to oblivion. One of the Lingering Will's most basic combos is a sweeping three-hit motion. He dashes and attacks three times towards you and this can be easily dodged with Dodge Roll. Upon his third hit, he'll land to the ground. He is vulnerable in this stage and completely open for attack, so for the first part of the fight, this will be the best opportunity to get a few hits in. Another move the Lingering Will will use a drill attack. He can sometimes combo into this move. His Keyblade will briefly transform into a large drill which will blow you back as well. The timing window is more awkward here, but with the correctly-timed Guard, he will again be open for attack afterwards. Do note however that this time, do not attack immediately after guarding. If you do so, you can still take some damage from the aftermath of his attack, so wait a second after blocking to go in for the kill.

One of the Lingering Will's more deadly attacks would be his whip move. It has wide range and a high damage output, and is more challenging to predict than the previous two. You can try use Reflega or Guard, but the safest option is simply trying to dash away. If you get caught in it, use Aerial Dodge and withstand the damage you take. If you're really desperate to save your HP, using a Drive Form or a Limit is the only way to break out of the combo. The Lingering Will's next attack is its cannon move. Its Keyblade transforms into a cannon that shoots out a massive orb that explodes on impact with Sora, dealing a nasty amount of damage. However, it can easily be manipulated. If you're close to the Lingering Will as it does the move, a well-timed Guard can deflect it back, hurting the Lingering Will and then leave it open for a combo. If you're farther away, you can deflect it back using a Dodge Roll or attacking in its direction, which will also send it back. Some of the Lingering Will's later combos are particularly crazy, with very specific timing that will take a lot of practice before you can walk out without a scratch. Naturally, you will want to stock up on as many Elixirs and Hi-Potions as possible before entering this fight. Consider crafting a few Attack Ups to help out on Sora's damage output. However, there is a damage cap for Sora in this boss fight. Any attack stat over 82 will do no more damage, so just be aware of that.

An important thing to note about the Lingering Will's boss fight that is unlike any other boss fight in the game is that the amount of damage Sora deals on the Lingering Will depends entirely on how many consecutive combos you can do on him before he interrupts or does a combo of his own. So if you manage four three-hit combos in a row, the damage of each combo will progressively increase.

This can also break the boss fight itself thanks to an alternate cheap method to defeating the Lingering Will. Don't worry if you want to use this method, as the boss fight is infamous for its sudden and random element in how it hits you next, which is nothing short of frustrating for most. To make use of this method, ensure you equip the following:

    • Equip the Fenrir Keyblade and Negative Combo
    • Un-equip any Air Combo Plus, Aerial Finish, Finishing Plus Magnet Spash you may have equipped
    • Un-equip High Jump to make consistently hitting him easier

Once you have the above ready, repeatedly attack the Lingering Will again and again using a jump finisher (ground finishers will not work). Simply jump, press and Sora should immediately use a finisher. Then repeat the process. Because of the fact that consecutive combos leads to more damage in this boss fight, each finisher will result in more and more damage. As long as you don't hit any stalacmites in the way and keep steering the Lingering Will away from incoming obstacles, you can endlessly combo Lingering Will until the end of his health.

  • Defeat Sephiroth.

This trophy is unlocked for defeating the optional boss in the game, Sephiroth. Sephiroth can first be fought after the final boss fight in Space Paranoids. Go to the Dark Depths (past the Great Maw where the Battle of the 1000 Heartless happened) to find Sephiroth. Talking to him issues a short cutscene and the boss fight.

Before fighting Sephiroth, ensure you have most if not all of the following:

    • Sora at least at Level 50 (Level 60 is the safety net)
    • Ultima Keyblade (created through synthesis)
    • Master and Final Form at Lvl. 7 for Aerial Dodge and Glide at MAX; other Forms maxed is helpful but not required
    • Extend your combo as long as possible with Combo Plus and Air Combo Plus (the more equipped the better)
    • Second Chance, Once More and Leaf Bracer (for support when healing)
    • Equip as many Elixirs and Hi-Potions as possible for emergencies

As soon as the fight starts, get ready to press a reaction command. This leaves Sephiroth open to a combo. Whenever the screen goes dark and there's a reaction command, make sure to follow up on it as this always leaves Sephiroth open and is crucial to making substantial damage all throughout the fight. At certain intervals Sephiroth will bound you into the air and attack you multiple times in the air. With Once More equipped, dying won't be a problem here, however it is guaranteed to wipe your whole health bar. There is a window to Aerial Dodge and attack Sephiroth with an air combo, cancelling his attack, but the window is slim. However, it is well possible and should be taken advantage of. Sephiroth will also do a simple sword combo on the ground. As long as you're not near him when this happens, you can easily jump and glide away without harm.

After a few health bars have been knocked down, he will make use of probably the most dangerous move he has, Heartless Angel. Sephiroth rises into the air, there's a dark aura about him and he starts summoning the Heartless Angel. He is open to attack at this time, so dash up to him, jump and combo him to cancel the move. If hit, however, your HP will immediately jump to 1 and your MP bar will completely deplete. When he only has about four bars of health left, he will transform and become stronger, with more relentless and damaging ground combos which are harder to dodge. On top of that, he'll have a few moves, however most of these are quite easy to dodge. He'll create a fire pillar which sucks you in; simply run away or glide to avoid it. He'll create small dark balls of energy which surround you and distract you, but attacking them with your Keyblade or using Reflect gets them away. Finally, he uses a move where he summons a couple of dozen meteors which fly towards you; jumping and gliding dodges these easily. Anticipating Sephiroth's moves are the key to winning this battle. When you win, talk to Cloud in the Marketplace and then return to Sephiroth again, where you'll be met with an awesome cutscene, the Fenrir Keyblade as a prize and this trophy will unlock.

  • Defeat all Organization XIII Replica Data.

This trophy is unlocked for defeating all thirteen optional bosses in the game of Organization XIII. These bosses can first be fought in the Garden of Assemblage in the Cavern of Remembrance. Go to the Postern in Hollow Bastion and enter the crack in the wall to the Cavern of Remembrance. Traverse through this long dungeon to finally arrive at the Garden of Assemblage, where the thirteen boss fights can be engaged after completing the game once. Note that for all story-related Organization XIII members, you must defeat the final boss before defeating them, and only for five members (Vexen, Lexaeus, Zexion, Marluxia and Larxene) must you defeat their Absent Silhouettes before the Data battles are available.

Before delving into the Replica Data battles themselves, the locations for Absent Silhouettes portals are as follows:

    • Vexen: After the Peddler's shop is remodeled on Sora's second visit to Agrabah, the portal to Vexen's battle appears in the Peddler's Shop.
    • Lexaeus: After the Nobodies are defeated in the Sandlot on Sora's second visit to Twilight Town, the portal to Lexaeus's battle appears in the Sandlot.
    • Zexion: Upon reaching the Inner Chamber on Sora's first visit to the Olympus Coliseum, the portal to Zexion's battle appears in the Inner Chamber.
    • Marluxia: After Beast asks Sora and Belle to leave the castle, the portal to Marluxia's battle appears in The Beast's Room.
    • Larxene: After Sora first lands at Isla de Muerta on Sora's first visit to Port Royal, the portal to Larxene's battle appears at the Rock Face.

Once these are defeated (any level over Level 40 will make them a painless battle) and you have completed the game, you can officially fight all thirteen members of the Organization in the Garden of Assemblage. These are Data Replica battles, where their HP is vastly increased and their damage output is much more dangerous. Each member has a different tactic or weakness, so no two fights will be alike in terms of what your strategy should be. For more detailed explanations on how to go about fighting each Organization XIII members, please read the Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix ~ Jiminy's Journal Completion Guide under the Missions section. • Complete Roxas's episode.

This trophy is unlocked for completing the prologue of the game as Roxas and will be the first trophy you get. Soon after your boss fight with Axel, you will unlock this trophy.

  • Reunite with Riku and Kairi.

After the boss battle with Xigbar, you must go through a few more areas filled with Nobodies. The trophy will unlock after the cutscene in the Hall of Empty Melodies.

  • Activate Antiform 13 times.

Antiform is another Drive Form in the game that has a completely random chance of appearing. Whenever you activate any Drive Form, there is a small chance that Sora will transform into Antiform as well, a dark, Heartless-like version of Sora with incredible speed and power. For this trophy, you must turn into Antiform thirteen times. There's a catch, however: with each time Antiform happens, the chances of it happening again decreases. By the time you get to ten uses or so, the odds of it appearing are incredibly low.

There is a way to counter this. Equip the Two Become One Keyblade (obtained after the boss fight at Memory's Skyscraper in The World That Never Was). This Keyblade has an ability called 'Light & Dark', which causes the activation of any Drive Form to balance the odds of Antiform appearing back to 50% (Final Form being the other possibility). To grind out the last few Antiform unlocks, go to the Cerberus Cup and activate Valor or any form. Whether or not Antiform appears, back out immediately and rinse and repeat until you reach thirteen unlocks.

  • Obtain an S rank on a gummi ship EX mission for all routes.

This trophy is unlocked for getting an S rank on a single EX mission for every route (not all three). An EX mission is unlocked when you get an S rank on any of the three regular missions. EX missions restrict the kind or number of gummis you can use on the ship (e.g. a ship with no less than 50 speed, etc.). Using the donut ship detailed in the trophy Ace Pilot, simply change your ship as necessary and you will have no more problems.
