Introduction:

Welcome to Just Cause 3, Avalanche Studios’ return to the series revolving around utter destruction and mayhem at the hands of Rico Rodriguez. In Just Cause 3 you return to Rico’s home country of Medici, and do what he does best, blow up everything he can to push back the currently installed dictatorship governing the country.

If you have played Just Cause 2 you will largely know what to expect from 3, though Avalanche has made a large number of improvements that make the game much less of a grind to platinum. There are only 227 collectibles now instead of a couple thousand, and everything gets marked on the map for you once you liberate provinces. You also can re-opress liberated places once you finish the game so you can’t miss any trophies while playing the game. This allows you to basically go at the game however you wish.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Work toward 100%ing the game

This is really the one big step to the game. There is no right or wrong order to go about playing Just Cause 3, and other than the order the story missions appear in you aren’t obligated to do anything in any order. If you wanted you could go liberate the entire map right from the start of the game.

Because of how open ended the game allows you to approach it, I am just going to recommend things that you should do to alleviate potential minor issues you could cause yourself.

Work on Challenges as you unlock them - Challenges are what allow you to unlock upgrades and abilities for your gear, so I would very much recommend against ignoring them and leaving them until the end of the game. You don’t need to try to get 5 gears on every one first time you try it (some of them are impossible to do that with anyway) but getting enough to contribute to your gear unlocks helps you out with general gameplay.

Work on Collectibles as you liberate provinces - Along with Challenges, you should also work on these as you come across them, mostly to alleviate tedium that you could cause yourself at the end of the game. Collectibles all become marked on your map once you liberate a whole province, so it would be good to go grab them as you liberate each province so you aren’t doing them all at once. You also unlock some useful stuff from a couple of the collectible sets, so it’s helpful to do them sooner rather than later.

Bring vehicles to Mario’s Garage as you come across them - Again, this alleviates the grind (and possible frustration) of having to wander around looking for vehicles if you leave them to do at once. There is also one that you should immediately grab if you see it due to it’s rare spawn rate, so watch out for it (see Caught ‘Em All for more info).

Step 2: Clean Up any Remaining Trophies

After you earn the 100% your only possible remaining trophies will be ones related to miscellaneous tasks that can be done at any time. Finish up any of these for the remaining trophies to earn your plat.

Sky Fortress DLC:

Roadmap:

Overview:

  • Estimated trophy difficulty: 4/10 (Personal Estimate)
  • Offline trophies: 7 (5, 1, 1)
  • Online trophies: 0
  • Approximate amount of time to 100%: 2-3hrs
  • Minimum number of playthroughs: 3 story missions, 4 challenges, 4 liberations
  • Number of missable trophies: None
  • Glitched trophies: None
  • Does difficulty affect trophies?: All challenges must be completed to 5 gears
  • Do trophies stack?: No
  • Do cheat codes disable trophies?: No cheats available.

Introduction:

Welcome to Sky Fortress, the first DLC Expansion for Just Cause 3. This expansion brings with it some new story missions and challenges, along with a couple new drop items and the most interesting item of all, a rocket powered Wingsuit modification. The DLC is short overall with the story itself only taking an hour or so to complete, with challenges to do afterword to unlock upgrades for the new wingsuit.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Play through the story

Your first step for the DLC will just be to play through the story. This consists of three missions and two sets of liberation targets that are required to progress after the first and second mission. Along your way you might very well earn the misc trophies without trying.

Trophies earned in this step:

My Name is Eden
Break a Leg!

Step 2: Complete challenges with 5 gears

Your next step will be to complete the 4 wingsuit challenges that are included with this DLC. They aren't overly difficult or long compared to the ones from the main game, so if you earned the platinum previously these shouldn't give you much trouble. If you didn't earn Stock-Keeping previously somehow you will almost certainly earn it here as one of the challenges involves killing drones.

Trophies earned in this step:

Stock-Keeping
Quite the Connoisseur
A True Master

Step 3: Cleanup

You last step will be to clean up any of the couple misc trophies you might not have earned previously while playing the story or challenges.

Trophies earned in this step:

Like a Fish... in the Air!
Look at the Sly Fox

Mech Land Assault DLC:

Overview:

  • Estimated trophy difficulty: 3/10
  • Offline trophies: 6 (4, 1, 1)
  • Online trophies: 0
  • Approximate amount of time to platinum: 2-3 hours
  • Minimum number of playthroughs: 1
  • Number of missable trophies: 0
  • Glitched trophies: 0
  • Does difficulty affect trophies?: N/A
  • Do trophies stack?: N/A
  • Do cheat codes disable trophies?: N/A

Introduction:

Mech Land Assault is the second DLC to be released for Just Cause 3 as part of the ‘Air, Land and Sea’ Expansion. This DLC will see Rico Rodriguez travel to the island of Insulate Lacrina, which is home to an abandoned research facility operated by the Black hand. The island is home to a secret new technology, the Mech, in which the DLC is largely centered around.

The trophies are very straightforward for this DLC, as they were for the Sky Fortress expansion. There are only two story missions and two new challenges which center on the use of the Mech. You will need to completely liberate all provinces of the new island, which will result in you unlocking most trophies as well. The bases/ camps/ outposts are quite small compared to the main game so you shouldn’t have any troubles. The Mech is also very powerful, and allows you to dispose of all enemies and their vehicles with relative ease.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Complete the first DLC mission, Stowaway

For the first step of this DLC you will complete the first of two story missions, Stowaway. This mission is located in the Maestrale Province of the Insula Striate region of the main game. Completing this mission will give you access to the new DLC area of the game, and will also have liberated your first Detention Camp which will work towards the Free Birds trophy. The mission is very straightforward, and will introduce you to the new vehicle in the game, the Mech, which is what the DLC revolves around.

At the end of this step you will have unlocked the following trophies:

One Mech of a Ride

Step 2: Liberate all areas of Insula Striate, and complete final DLC mission

Once you have completed the first mission of the game, you will then need to liberate the entire island of Insula Striate in order to unlock the second and final mission of the DLC. Each region has a number of different bases and detention camps which you will need to liberate. Whilst doing this step, focus on obtaining 30 enemy vehicle kills with the Mech for the This Is Not A Fireball. Mechs can be found at enemy bases either manned or unmanned, if they are manned you will need to disable them with the power core weapon. During this step you will also liberate all Detention Camps which will ultimately unlock the Free Birds trophy.

At the end of this step you will have unlocked the following trophies:

In the Heart of Darkness
Free Birds
This Is Not A Fireball

Step 3: Obtain 5 gears in all Challenges

Now that you have completed the story missions of the DLC, you will want to complete the two new challenges available. These challenges require you to fight off a number of waves of enemies with the Mech. They are relatively straightforward to obtain five gears on once you understand how the scoring works.

At the end of this step you will have unlocked the following trophies:

Certified eDEN Operator
eDEN Employee of the Year

Bavarium Sea Heist DLC

Overview:

  • Estimated trophy difficulty: 2/10
  • Offline trophies: 6 (3, 2, 1)
  • Online trophies: 0
  • Approximate amount of time to platinum: 2-4 hours
  • Minimum number of playthroughs: 1
  • Number of missable trophies: 0
  • Glitched trophies: 0
  • Does difficulty affect trophies?: n/a
  • Do trophies stack?: n/a
  • Do cheat codes disable trophies?: n/a

Introduction:

The Bavarium Sea Heist is the third and final DLC for Just Cause 3 as part of the Land, Air and Sea Package. The story of the DLC is very short, and requires you to use a Rocket Boat to take over and destroy a new offshore eDEN Research Station that is utilising lightning to create new weapons. The DLC is similar to the previous two in regards to longevity, originality and replayability. Once you finish the story, there is little else to do as the DLC only adds one new challenge.

In regards to the trophies, they are very straightforward. They relate to completing all story missions and performing kills with the two new weapons in the game: the Rocket Boat and the eDEN Spark. No trophies are missable, and you’ll be glad to know that once you have 100% you can finally uninstall the game and move on to bigger and better things.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Complete the story missions whilst getting the Rocket Boat kill related trophies

Once you have the DLC installed, simply load the game and start the first story mission. This mission is called The Setup and is located in the Cauda Province in Insula Dracon. There are only two main story missions in this DLC so it won’t take you very long to complete. You will also likely unlock some of the other non-story related trophies whilst you complete this step, especially when liberating the five Satellite Stations that are required to unlock the final story mission.

At the end of this step you will have unlocked the following trophies

One Last Score
Loochador Master
The Flying Medician
I Should Buy A Boat

Step 2: eDEN Spark strike kills and trophy clean up

Now that you have completed all story missions, you will want to clean up the remaining trophies. This includes defeating an enemy helicopter with a single eDEN Spark strike and killing 10 enemies with a single eDEN Spark strike. You may also need to unlock the other kill related trophies that require the use of the Rocket Boat/Loochador.

At the end of this step you will have unlocked the following trophies

Lightning Bolt!
Staying Power

67 trophies ( 14  47  8  )

  • Earned all Just Cause 3 Trophies

Self explanatory, the platinum is earned after earning all other trophies in the game.

  • Destroy every Chaos Object in a Military Base without using any weapons, grenades, or planted explosives.

This trophy is earned by completely liberating a military base without using any sort of weapons, which means you have to do everything using only your tether or melee. This must be done at either a military base or a Centcom, which are represented on the map by the below two symbols:

This can be done at any time as long as you have an untouched military base or Centcom to liberate, but it is easier to wait until you have unlocked as many gear upgrades as possible (mainly for your tether) and then re-oppress one of the bases after you have finished the story. This would probably be recommended, as you can be sure the base is completely untouched when you choose to liberate it.

The below video by Powerpyx is an example of one of the easier bases that you can do this at. If you want to use this base and have already liberated it, you can wait until after the story and re-oppress it.

  • Tether an enemy to a launched gas cannister. Adeo, amico!

This trophy is earned by tethering a soldier to one of the larger gas cylinders that launch like rockets when shot. You can normally find at least one hanging around Outposts, most frequently near the suspended roof structures that have random items under them.

    Gas Canister

While the trophy specifies enemy, you can do this with friendly rebel soldiers as well, which makes it easier to pull off. You’ll want the soldier to be near the gas canister so that they don’t remove the grappling hook before it launches. If you wish to do so you can tether a soldier to the ground and pull them over to the canister before attaching them. While the soldier and the canister are attached you can also give a quick tug on the tether with  to stop the soldier removing the tether. Once the canister launches with a soldier attached you will earn the trophy.

  • Destroy all Chaos Objects in a Base without leaving your vehicle.

This trophy is earned by liberating an entire military base without leaving a vehicle. This must be done at either a military base or a Centcom, which are represented on the map by the below two symbols:

This can be done at any time as long as you have an untouched military base or Centcom to liberate, but it is probably easier to wait until you have at least one of the tanks unlocked for a military drop, if not waiting until you have the shielded Bavarium one unlocked. The Bavarium one is the strongest and you can use it’s invulnerability shield to protect yourself from any base defenses. Note that the base that you wish to do this in must not have any chaos objects that require hacking terminals or activating devices to activate them. These obviously would require you to get out of your vehicle to hack and be able to destroy them, so these bases wouldn’t work.

The below video by Powerpyx is an example of one of the easier bases that you can do this at. If you want to use this base and have already liberated it, you can wait until after the story and re-oppress it.

  • Plant a Booster Explosive on an enemy soldier. Then send them flying.

This trophy is earned by planting C4 on an enemy soldier while you have the booster gear mod turned on and launching them with it. This can be done at any time after you have unlocked the booster explosives mod. This mod requires gears in the Explosives mod category, which are earned by doing the Crash Bomb challenges (driving the explosive rigged car into a group of enemy vehicles as fast as possible).

This trophy is most easily earned by approaching some soldiers stationed near a road (most easily found in/around unliberated towns) who are idling and aren’t attacking you. Walk up to one and place a C4 on them, then quickly activate it to send them flying.

  • Beat another player's score in a Challenge.

This trophy is earned by beating the score of another player on any challenge’s leaderboard. This can be either a friend or a random player that the game populates on the leaderboard (if you have Extended leaderboards enabled in the options).

If you have Extended leaderboards enabled you will almost certainly get this while working on 5 gears on all challenges. If you don’t you can get a friend (or a second dummy account on your PS4) to set a low score on any challenge, then beat that score once you can see them on the leaderboard.

  • Earn at least 3 Gears in a Challenge.

This trophy is earned by getting a score that earns you at least 3 gears on any challenge.

See All the Gears for more info.

  • Earn 5 Gears in a Challenge.

This trophy is earned by getting a score that earns you all 5 gears on any challenge.

See All the Gears for more info.

  • Earn at least 3 Gears in one Challenge of every type.

This trophy is earned by getting a score that awards you at least 3 gears on at least one challenge in each challenge type. The eight types of challenges that are available are:

    • Wingsuit Courses
    • Land Races
    • Scrapyard Scrambles
    • Crash Bombs
    • Shooting Galleries
    • Destruction Frenzies
    • Sea Races
    • Air Races

See All the Gears for more info.

  • Earn 5 Gears in every Challenge.

This trophy is earned by earning a score which earns you 5 gears on all 112 challenges in the game. This trophy is the hardest task in the game, and depending on your skill with the challenges could also end up being the most time consuming. Some challenges such as the wingsuit ones could require a fair bit of practice, where others such as some of the flying or racing ones are near impossible to 5 gear without having unlocked specific mods or vehicles or both.

You can view this great guide by Powerpyx for a walkthrough on all the challenges. He has videos showing methods to earn 5 gears on all challenges in the game, as well as tips for individual types.

Just Cause 3 - Challenge Guide (5 Gears in All Challenges)

  • Get 1,000 Chaos

This trophy is awarded for reaching a total of 1,000 Chaos score. This will almost certainly unlock for you during the first mission of the game as soon as you start playing.

See Chaos Millionaire for more info.

  • Get 100,000 Chaos

This trophy is awarded for reaching a total of 100,000 Chaos score. This will come from general gameplay as you complete missions and liberate settlements. Depending on how much you do before progressing story missions you should get this done before finishing all the story missions in Insula Fonte.

See Chaos Millionaire for more info.

  • Get 1,000,000 Chaos

This trophy is awarded for reaching a total of one million Chaos score. You gain chaos score from destroying any chaos object or enemy vehicles, as well as a small amount from completing random spawning activities. This should come naturally along your way to earning Winner Takes All, Again

If you manage to finish everything else in the game without earning this trophy, the fastest way to earn chaos score would be to re-opress the larger military bases in Insula Dracon and liberate them again, destroying all the chaos objects.

Glitch Warning: There have been reports with this and the 100,000 chaos trophies not unlocking at the proper chaos total that they are supposed to unlock at. This sometimes appears to be due to an issue with the game tracking your chaos total and displaying a higher number than what it actually counts you as having. If you get over the chaos total required for either of the trophies and they don’t unlock, completely shut down the game and start it again. Once you load back into your game your chaos total should be lower than it was before, but this should be your current accurate number.

If after you do this and get to 1 million again and the trophy still doesn't unlock you'll just have to keep earning chaos and the trophy should pop eventually.

  • Unlock Rebel Drops for at least one land vehicle, at least one air vehicle, and at least one sea vehicle.

This trophy is earned by unlocking the ability to drop at least one of each vehicle type from the rebel drop menu (this doesn’t count ones that are unlocked from the start, they have to be new ones). When it says unlocked this also means ones that are unlocked by liberating Bases, not ones brought to the garage. This will come along the way to earning Unlocked and Fully Loaded and 100%ing the game.

  • Collect every vehicle available by bringing them to Mario's Rebel Garages.

This trophy is earned by collecting every one of the random spawning vehicles and bringing them to one of Mario’s garages so that they are available in the Rebel Drop menu. This is much easier than finding all the vehicles was in Just Cause 2, as there are only 47 vehicles you need to collect and the third Land Vehicle gear mod you unlock is a detector that displays an icon when near vehicles like the game does with other collectibles. You can turn this on at any time you like, but I would advise working on these while doing other collectible cleanup so that you aren’t spending a large amount of time looking around for the random spawning vehicles with nothing else to do.

You can view the following video by Powerpyx for possible/guaranteed spawn locations for all the vehicles available in the game. You can view the video description for timestamps for all of the vehicles.

    Notes for Specific Vehicles

Squalo X7 (Boat) - This vehicle is the most annoying vehicle to deal with. It only has 2 spawn points and they are both in landlocked lakes, which means you have to move the boat out of the lakes to a garage. This can be done however you like, but I would recommend waiting until you have all the tether upgrades (6x tethers and both strength upgrades) and have unlocked the Urga Hrom D for rebel drop. This helicopter has the highest power rating of the helicopters, so it can lift the boat the easiest. To lift the boat from one of the lakes you need to attach all the tethers in a fairly uniform manner, then carefully lift and move the boat to a garage without being too jerky. General movement will snap the tethers eventually, so you will have to jump to the underside of the helicopter with  and attach more to the boat to prevent it from falling.

Autostraad Reisender 7 (Semi Truck) - This vehicle has what seems to be the lowest spawn rate in the game, and if you don’t manage to pick one up during general gameplay you could spend hours looking around hoping for one to spawn. That’s why I would recommend if you come across one you while doing anything other than a story mission you immediately drop what you are doing and take it to a garage. Even if you’re in the middle of a challenge quit out and grab it, because you might not see another again for a long time because of the rare spawn rate.

  • Pay your respects at every Ancient Tomb.

This trophy is earned by “collecting” every Ancient Tomb in the game. These Tombs are large grass and blue flower covered mounds with doors on them that only appear on Insula Striate. Once you collect them all you gain the Urga Stupka-210 Mortar Launcher for use in the Rebel Drop menu.

    Ancient Tomb

There are 23 of these tombs scattered around Insula Striate, and they appear on the map with the same collectible symbol as the Tapes and Shrines once you liberate a province.

  • Light a candle at every Rebel Shrine.

This trophy is earned by “collecting” every Rebel Shrine scattered around Medici. They look like small blue boxes standing on top of a waist high post. Once you collect all of them in a region you gain free fast travel from anywhere in that province.

    Lit Rebel Shrine

There are 49 of the shrines in total; 18 on Insula Fonte, 10 on Insula Dracon, and 21 on Insula Striate. They appear on the map with the same collectible icon as Burial Mounds and Tapes once you liberate a province.

  • Gather all of Di Ravello's tapes.

This trophy is earned by collecting every one of Di Ravello’s audio tapes that are scattered around Medici. They look like small tape recorders that are lying on the ground, normally in towns and some military areas. Once you collect all of them you gain the Golden Urga Mstitel Helicopter for use from the Rebel Drop menu.

A Di Ravello tape on the ground

There are 71 tapes in total; 20 on Insula Fonte, 12 on Insula Dracon, and 39 on Insula Striate. They appear on the map with the same collectible icon as Burial Mounds and Shrines once you liberate a province.

Note it appears that if you aren’t far enough in the story you won’t be able to collect all of the audio tapes. If you are following a guide and find them all without having finished the story or liberated all the provinces and the last one doesn’t seem to appear try progressing the story more.

  • Find every vintage weapon and vehicle part.

This trophy is earned by collecting every Vintage Part scattered around Medici. These come from dug up spots on the ground with a shovel sticking out of them, and once you collect them the shovel disappears. Collecting all of them in each region gives different rewards for use from the Rebel Drop menu. Collecting them all in Insula Fonte gives you the U-24 Zabijak (dual wield level action shotguns), collecting them all in Insula Dracon gives you the Peacebringer (dual wield revolvers), and collecting them all in Insula Striate gives you the Carmen Albatross (spitfire-esque fighter plane).

A dirt pile that still contains a vintage part

There are 71 of the parts in total; 18 on Insula Fonte, 14 on Insula Dracon, and 22 on Insula Striate. They appear on the map with the same collectible icon as all other collectibles once you liberate a province.

  • Launch a land vehicle off of every Daredevil Jump in Medici.

This trophy is earned by driving a vehicle off of every one of the Daredevil jumps scattered around Medici. You don’t need to land properly off any of the jumps, just drive a vehicle off each ramp at a respectable speed and stay in the vehicle until it counts the jump. These are all marked on the map with the symbol of a person on a Quad bike along with all the other collectibles once you liberate an entire province. There is a total of 30 of them scattered around Medici. Completing specific numbers of the Daredevil jumps rewards you with various off road vehicles for use from the Rebel Drop menu.

Completed Daredevil jump icon on map

  • Find every collectible strewn across Medici.

his trophy is earned by finding every one of the collectibles located around Medici. This basically works as a mini platinum for earning all the other collectible related trophies, which are as follows.

    • Tomb Raider
    • Remember the Fallen
    • Diary of a Madman
    • Old School Cool
    • Consumate Daredevil

You can view your progress towards all the collectible totals in the Progress > Collectibles tab of the  menu.

  • Stand on foot at the highest point of Medici.

This trophy is earned by going to the very highest point on the map, which is at a small shrine like structure on top of the Montana region in Insula Striate. The exact coordinates for this is N 40 48.094 E 5 43.227.

    Highest point on the map

  • Beat a score you were Called-Out on.

This trophy is earned by beating a friend’s score on a feat that they have called you out on. This trophy appears to be temperamental, with it not unlocking for some people after beating feats multiple times. For this reason I would recommend using the Wingsuit Wonder feat (longest time spent wingsuiting, under misc feats). This feat seems to unlock the trophy for players more often than the others, and it should be easy to beat low times on it.

See Can’t Touch This for info on how to call a player out on a feat.

  • Perform every Feat.

This trophy is earned by registering a score on every feat in the game at least once. All feats can be viewed in the  menu then by going to Leaderboards > Feat Scores. Having any score registered beside a feat means you have “performed” it for the trophy.

All feats show a short description of what they require on the right side when you have them selected. The majority of them are self explanatory and most will come from regular gameplay. The only one you will probably have to go out of your way to do is the feat called Endless Runner which is located under Vehicle feats. This feat requires you to travel in the Soap Box Car, which is an unpowered Box car that spawns very rarely with people in it driving down hills. It does have a guaranteed spawn point though at the Cima Leon Centcom in the Insula Fonte region. Once you have liberated this Centcom you can find the Box Car in a covered area on the west side of the base beside the gate. To get moving in the Box Car you will have to pull it out onto the road until it is on a slight angle then get in it to roll down the hill.

Box Car sitting at Cima Leon

  • Liberate a Province.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

This trophy is earned by liberating your first province in the game. Provinces are liberated by liberating every settlement and military outpost/base in said province. Some of the story missions require the liberation of a specific number of provinces to start them, so this is impossible to not do while completing the story.

  • Disable the FOW in Insula Fonte.

Story related, cannot be missed. This is earned during the mission “Secret of Insule Fonte”.

While playing through the story you will have missions that say they are for disabling the FOW at the main military base in each area, which are called Centcoms. You will disable the one at Insula Fonte early on in the story, as it is the first area in which you start the game.

  • Liberate 13 settlements.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

This trophy is earned by liberating a total of 13 settlements. You have to liberate more than this many just to liberate enough provinces to progress certain story missions, so this will come naturally even if you’re just playing the bare minimum to progress the story.

  • Completely liberate Insula Dracon.

This trophy is earned by liberating all provinces in Insula Dracon, which is the second region you come to during the game’s story missions. It is the region to the west side of the map that is made up of a lot of smallish islands with lots of water in between.

  • Completely liberate Insula Fonte.

This trophy is earned by liberating all provinces in Insula Fonte, which is the first region of the game that you start the story in. It is the South East region which is comprised of one medium sized island and a few smaller ones to it’s south.

  • Completely liberate Insula Striate.

This trophy is earned by liberating all provinces in Insula Striate, which is the last region you come to during story progression. It is the massive island at the top of the map, and is mostly comprised of military bases and encampments, with some towns and cities on it’s southern edges.

  • Unlock every weapon and vehicle available in the Rebel Drop menu.

This trophy is earned by having everything available for your use from the Rebel Drop menu. This includes:

    • All vehicles that are unlocked by bringing them to one of Mario’s Garages
    • All vehicles and weapons unlocked by liberating military bases and outposts
    • Both weapons and the plane unlocked from collecting vintage parts
    • The portable mortar unlocked from collecting all tapes
    • The golden helicopter unlocked from collecting all tapes
    • The vehicles unlocked from completing Daredevil jumps
    • The helicopter unlocked from finishing the story

This will come while working on earning the game’s 100%, as this is almost everything that is required for it that isn’t challenge related.

Note that DLC vehicles and weapons are not required for this trophy.

  • 100% Just Cause 3.

The is the trophy that almost all of your game time is spent working towards. 100%ing the game is a much less time consuming (and much less impossible) task than it would have been in Just Cause 2, but it still takes a considerable amount of time. Achieving 100% in the game requires doing all of the following:

    • Completing all Story Missions (Son of Medici  and all previous trophies)
    • Earning 5 gears on every challenge (All the Gears  and all previous trophies)
    • Collecting all collectibles (No Stone Unturned  and all associated trophies)
    • Bringing all vehicles to Mario’s Garages (Caught ‘Em All /Unlocked and Fully Loaded )
    • Liberating all 3 regions (Hope Springs Eternal , Taming the Dracon , Heart of Stone )

You can view your total game percentage and all stats in each game category in the Progress tab of the menu. Here the game shows you your total percent completed so far and allows you to see specific numbers of what you have done and still have left to do in each individual region to reach 100%.

  • Call-Out another player in a Feat.

This trophy is earned by calling out another player on a feat. This can be a friend or a random player (if you have Extended Leaderboards enabled in the options menu).

To call out someone on a feat, go into the  menu and go to Leaderboards > Feat Scores. Here you can view all the game’s feats and your scores on them. Hover over a feat that you have a score on then press  to bring up the friend’s list. From here choose a player that appears (they don’t need to have played the game) and the game will then send the call out and award you the trophy.

  • Take sanctuary in a monastery to clear Heat Level 5.

This trophy is earned by going to an unlocked Monastery and talking to the Priest while at maximum heat level to completely clear it. Unlocked Monasteries appear on the map with a blue church steeple symbol, and are unlocked from completing random encounters (unlocking at least three is required for the trophy Three Holy Hideaways).

Unlocked Monastery location symbol on map

You can do this at any time, though depending on where you are it may be hard to get to get to max heat level outside of military bases. If you have finished the story already the easiest way to do this would probably be to re-oppress a military base near to one of your unlocked monasteries, then go into the base and continue killing enemy soldiers and destroying vehicles that show up without actually liberating it. Do this until you have max heat, then start making your way over to the monastery. If it is a decent distance from the base you will have to make sure you don’t lose your heat before getting there, but once you do talk to the Priest standing outside the front door to clear your heat level and earn the trophy.

  • Unlock your first Gear MOD, and then activate it.

This trophy is earned by unlocking and enabling one gear mod. You will be prompted to do this automatically by the game once you unlock one when you earn enough gears.

  • Unlock every Gear MOD in a single category.

This trophy is earned by unlocking all available gear mods in a single mod category. You will earn this along the way to earning all gears from challenges. If you wanted to get this out of the way the easiest category to do this with would be the Tether mods category. Unlocking all the gear mods from this category only requires 12 of the available 20 gears.

  • Have every Gear MOD active for at least 1 minute each.

This trophy is earned by having every single gear mode activated for at least one minute at a time. This doesn’t mean you have to have them all activated at the same time, just for at least one minute each. You don’t need to earn every gear to unlock all gear mods, each final mod is normally 5 - 10+ gears short of the maximum number depending on how many challenges there are in each category.

  • Complete an Encounter.

This trophy is earned by completing your first random encounter. This are events that will randomly appear with a symbol market on your HUD. Doing them is required to unlock locations for the trophies Supply and Demandand Three Holy Hideaways.

Example of encounter symbol on screen

  • Unlock 10 Resupply Points by completing Encounters.

This trophy is earned by completing 10 different encounters that unlock flare resupply points. If you haven't earned the trophy Three Holy Hideaways then I would recommend doing every Encounter that you come across, otherwise if you want you can ignore almost all Encounters other than the vehicle delivery, crate delivery, and pull a vehicle to a gas station ones. Those are the only three that seem to unlock the resupply points, so if you want to save time you can ignore all the others. You can view how many points you have unlocked by going into the  menu then going Progress > Stats and scrolling down to the very bottom of the list of stats.

  • Unlock 3 Heat-Clearing Priests by completing Encounters.

This trophy is earned by unlocking 3 monastery locations by completing random encounters. Unlocked monasteries are displayed on your map with a blue church steeple symbol, and are where you can go to clear heat if you have any. Until you unlock this trophy I would recommend doing every Encounter that you come across, as I don’t believe there are specific ones that unlock the Monasteries like with the resupply points. You can view how many priests you have unlocked by going into the  menu then going Progress > Stats and scrolling down to the very bottom of the list of stats.

DLC: Sky Fortress

7 trophies

  • Use the Bavarium Wingsuit to take off from water.

This trophy is earned by launching yourself into the air using the Bavarium Wingsuit from a body of water. During the tutorial with the wingsuit, you are prompted to press while on the ground to launch yourself into the air. This can also be done while sitting on any body of water. Do this once to earn this trophy.

  • Use the Barrel Roll to evade 10 incoming missiles.

This trophy is earned by using the Barrel Roll manoeuvrer in the wingsuit to evade 10 rockets. You can dodge missiles in your wingsuit by pressing along with a direction on the left stick while in the air with the wingsuit engaged. To dodge missiles like this you while have to dodge while the Missile indicator on the screen is flashing red. If done correctly then you will avoid the missile and the screen will flash the word "Success". Do this 10 times cumulatively while flying with the wingsuit to earn the trophy.

If you don't manage to do this 10 times during the story missions, liberations or challenges the easiest way to work on this would be to re-oppress the Flying Fortress regions so that the Anti-Air turrets respawn. If you fly far enough above or below these on the ship then they will launch a large number of missiles, thus allowing you to quickly rack up the 10 required dodges.

  • Beat the last mission of the Sky Fortress Expansion and complete the story arc.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

This trophy is earned by beating the third mission of the Sky Fortress Expansion.

Sky Fortress includes 3 missions total. After the first mission you will have to liberate both regions of the Sky Fortress itself to progress to the second mission, then after the second you have to liberate two Bavarium mining areas to progress to the third mission. Once you finish the third mission then you will earn this trophy.

  • Defeat the "Old Friend" (Boss at the end of "Taking Control").

    Story related, cannot be missed.

Near the end of the second mission of the expansion you will be in an interior area of the Sky Fortress and a large tank drone on legs will spawn from the ceiling and you are prompted to take it out. It is fairly easy to take out with any explosives (the Capstone Hydra destroys it with one hit), of which there are some conveniently located in a weapon locker right under the stairs that you are standing one when the Boss spawns in. Shoot out its legs to destroy it and the trophy will be awarded immediately.

  • Defeat 1 of each Drone type.

This trophy is awarded for destroying one of each of the 4 destroyable drone types introduced in the Sky Fortress expansion. This might be virtually impossible not to earn from story progression due to you being prompted to destroy two types of the drones through story progression and and the other two constantly spawn around the Sky Fortress and during missions. If you want to get this out of the way during the first story mission then you can. The 4 types of drones that are available to destroy are (though note that the names not official):

Excavator drone: You are prompted to destroy a few of these after following the first drone

Tank Drone: One spawns in near the end of the mission and you are prompted to destroy it

Small drone: These small drones spawn all over and shoot bullets at you. There will be a few hanging around after you take out the group of Excavator Drones in the first mission and all over the place around the Fortress.

Large Drone: These drones are slightly larger than the small ones and also fly around. They shoot bullets and missiles at you. The one you followed will be hanging around the area with the Excavator Drones in the first mission after you destroy the Excavators and spawned randomly around the Fortress the rest of the time.

If you kill all 4 of the Drone types in the first mission the trophy will be awarded after the mission is finished, the game won't actually award the trophy when you kill all 4 of the drone types in the first mission.

  • Earn at least 1 Gear in all Challenges of the Sky Fortress Expansion.

This trophy is awarded for earning at least 1 Gear in each of the 4 challenges in the Sky Fortress expansion.

See A True Master for more information.

  • Earn 5 Gears in all Challenges of the Sky Fortress Expansion.

This trophy is awarded for earning all 5 Gears in the 4 challenges that qare included in the Sky Fortress expansion.

The challenges in this expansion are focused around the abilities of the Bavarium Wingsuit, with 3 of the challenges being the ring courses that you have to navigate one one where you have to fly around the top of the Fortress and destroy drones to score. I recommend doing the 3 ring course challenges first so that you can earn gears to get the upgrades for the wingsuit weapons to help in the drone destruction challenge (though it is possible to do without the upgrades, it just becomes much easier to wait). You get an upgrade basically every other gear so if you need you can gradually progress through the challenges to unlock the upgrades if you feel it will help.

The following videos by Beliskner show how to complete each challenge with 5 Gears:

Of the three wingsuit course challenges, Airship Tour 1 is basically the most difficult, as there is no room for error in regards to hitting perfect in the rings. You need perfect in every one on the course to make the point requirement. Thankfully they are fairly spaced out and don't require as much tricky manoeuvring as the other two courses, you just need to hit every ring perfectly.

The easiest way to get through this challenge is to continually move back and forth between the ends of the ship taking out all the drones that spawn in between. You should be using your machine guns most of the time as it can hit drones from basically the same range as the rocket lock on. A trick that I found for quickly getting yourself turned around once you get to the ends of the ship, is to hold for the airbrake then hold boost at the same time while pull diagonally down and to the side to do a power slide esque turn. You can turn around faster this way than just turning normal. Just make sure to be pulling up while turning or the handbrake will drag you down.

DLC: Mech Land Assault

6 trophies

  • Beat the last mission of the Mech Land Assault Expansion and complete the story arc.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

There are only two story missions in the Mech Land Assault DLC. The second, and last, of which is Storming The Hive. This mission will only become available to you once you have liberated all four Provinces of Insula Striate (Nebio Sud, Novola, Alvea and Nebio Nord), and will appear in the Northern part of Nebio Sud.

The final mission will require you to travel to various locations around Insula Striate and help the Prisoners fight off the Black Hand. The mission is easy enough, just follow the mission objectives and kill all highlighted enemies with a red triangle. You will have to protect an ally for a large part of the mission, so refrain from using explosive weapons near him as the blast radius can deal a lot of damage. Once the mission has been completed the trophy will unlock.

  • Earn at least 1 Gear in all Challenges of the Mech Land Assault Expansion.

Please refer to the eDEN Employee of the Year trophy description below for more information.

  • Earn 5 Gears in all Challenges of the Mech Land Assault Expansion.

There are only two challenges in the Mech Land Assault Expansion. Both challenges require you to defeat eight waves of progressively harder enemies whilst using the Mech. The enemies consist of ground soldiers, armoured vehicles, tanks, drones and helicopters. You are awarded points for killing enemies, as well as extra points for killing them with ‘style’ and within a short period of time. Style points largely refer to killing enemies using the Mechs two special weapons, the Force Pulse Attack () and the Gravitational Remote Influence Projector or GRIP ().

In order to reach the score requirement for five gears in each of the two challenges, you will want to primarily use the two special weapons. Use the GRIP weapon for helicopters, and use the Force Pulse Attack on all ground vehicles. In regards to ground vehicles, you will be awarded more points if you kill/ destroy enemies in a single attack, so try and line some of the vehicles up before attacking them. If you do not reach five stars when completing the challenges, remember to equip any unlocked MODS as these will help you the next time round.

Below is an overview of each of the two challenges, as well as a list of specific tips on how to earn five gears. A video walkthrough is also provided, so if you are struggling to reach the required score, refer to each video for further information:

    Challenge #1: Mech Arena
Availability: Unlocked after liberating the Weapons Shipment Yard in the Nebio Sud province
Location: Weapons Shipment Yard, South West corner of the Nebio Sud province
Five star score requirement: 40,000 points

This challenge requires you to fight eight waves of enemies. Waves consist of drones, paratroopers, Mechs and ground support soldiers. General Tips:

    • Always kill the paratroopers first if they are spawning on the next wave. You can blow up the large plane that drops them off before they get a chance to leave the plane. This awards you with lots of points and saves a lot of time.
    • Use the attack on drones and throw them to the ground or into nearby buildings to blow them up.
    • The ground force enemies will arrive in vehicles and are easiest to kill with the attack. You will gain extra points by killing lots of them in a single attack.
    • For the final wave when all enemies spawn, focus on killing the Mech first (once the paratrooper plane has been shot down) as this can cause a lot of damage in a short amount of time.

     Challenge #2: Mech Arena
Availability: Unlocked after liberating the Weapons Warehouse in the Nebio Nord province
Location: Weapons Warehouse, in the middle of the Nebio Nord province
Five star score requirement: 38,000 points

This challenge requires you to fight eight waves of enemies. Waves consist of tanks, machine gun and rocket helicopters, Mechs and armoured vehicles. General Tips:

    • Use the attack on helicopters and throw them to the ground or into nearby buildings to blow them up. The rocket helicopters can deal a lot of damage.
    • Watch out for the red bullseye that appears on the ground which indicated where tanks are going to fire. Always keep moving to avoid being hit.
    • Use the attack for ground vehicles, including tanks. Due to their size, tanks are best attacked from side on which will cause them to flip and blow up.
    • I found it useful to blow up all explosive tanks/ items around the area before enemies spawn as you can easily be blow up if they explode in close proximity.

  • Hijack your first Mech.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

You will hack your first Mech during the first mission of the DLC, Stowaway. This mission is located in the Maestrale Province of the Insula Striate region of the main game.

Upon starting the mission you will enter a cargo plane and head towards Insula Lacrima, which is a new island as a part of the DLC. Once the mission starts you will enter the base and kill numerous enemies. The first you come across you will have to destroy as part of the mission, however, the second one in which you fight you will need to hack. In order to hack the Mech you must first disable it with a Bavarian Power Core Rifle (the game will show you its location). Once it is disabled simply enter the Mech by pressing when on top of it. Once inside, the trophy will unlock.

  • Liberate 3 Detention Camps.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

Detention Camps are scattered across each region of Lacrima. They are similar to Towns and Outposts in the main game where you have to destroy each of the assets in order to successfully liberate the camp. In total there are four Detention Camps, and as you need to liberate all areas of the Lacrina in order to complete the story, you will unlock this trophy in the process. Once you complete the first mission, Stowaway, you will have already liberated your first detention camp.

Below is a list of each asset and what must be done to complete it:

    • Armory: These are small weapon lockers which must be opened by pressing on the control panel. Alternatively you can blow them up in order to destroy them. It is advised to open them up as this will allow you to replenish your ammunition, as well as for freed prisoners to collect a gun and help defend the camp during the ‘Hold the Fort’ process (see below).
    • Cell Block: Similar to the main game, you must release the prisoners from their cell block. Find the main gate and press to let them out. The freed prisoners will help fight any Black Hand enemies that show up.
    • Surveillance Camera: These are similar to the Speakers in the main game Towns. They appear as tall poles with red surveillance cameras at the top. Knock them down by any means to destroy them.
    • Ringleader Cell: In the larger Detention Camps there will be a ringleader prisoner located in the main section of the camp. You will need to hack the two computer terminals located on the ringleaders cell to release them.
    • Warden: The Warden is an enemy that will appear within the camp marked with a red triangle. Simply kill them to complete this task.
    • Hold the Fort: Once all tasks have been completed at the Detention Camp, a new task will appear called ‘Hold the Fort’. During this task you will need to defend the camp and kill all enemies that try and take it back over. This is a similar process seen in the main game when you liberate the police stations in different Towns. Once the meter in the top left of the screen has filled, this task will be complete and the Detention Camp will have been successfully liberated.

The below map shows the location of each of the four Detention Camps in Insulate Lacrina:

  • Destroy 30 enemy vehicles using the Mech's Force Pulse.

The Mech’s Force Pulse attack is performed by pressing . This attack fires an energy pulse that pushes anything in front of the Mech's away. It can be extremely useful against enemy vehicles. This trophy will likely unlock through natural gameplay of the DLC, especially as you travel around island liberating all areas. Just be sure to always use a Mech when one is available. You can find parked Mechs at the Weapon Facility areas of the the island which you will need to liberate. Enemy Mechs will also appear when you liberate certain locations. These can be hijacked using the Power Core Rifle. If you are still struggling to obtain this trophy, then I suggest you play either of the two challenges and focus on destroying enemy vehicles primarily using the attack. Once you have destroyed 30 enemy vehicles using the Mech's Force Pulse the trophy will unlock.

DLC: Bavarium Sea Heist

6 trophies

  • Beat the last mission of the Bavarium Sea Heist expansion and complete the story arc.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

There are only two story missions in the Bavarium Sea Heist DLC: The Setup and The Heist. The second and final mission will only unlock once you have liberated all five Satellite Stations in the newly unlocked Stingray Province, which is located on the western side of the map.

The Heist mission will require you to infiltrate the main central compound in the Stingray Province and acquire the eDEN Spark, a new powerful lightning weapon. There aren't many enemies on your way to obtaining this weapon, so you shouldn't have too much trouble. Simply follow the yellow markers to find your way through the compound.

Once you have acquired the eDEN Spark you will need to defend your friends from outside the compound whilst they raid the compound for weapons. Equip the new weapon by pressing and destroy all enemy vehicles that appear. Once destroyed you will need to escort your friends out of the Stingray Province. Along the way you will have to destroy a number of Black Hand enemy boats and helicopters. Use both and to attack and you will easily defeat all enemies. Once you rendezvous at the meeting point on the map a few cutscenes will play and the trophy will unlock.

  • Defeat 5 enemy helicopters with the Rocket Boat.

You will first gain access to the Rocket Boat after the first mission, The Setup. Your task at this point is to liberate the 5 Satellite Stations in the new Stingray Province on the western side of the game.

As you liberate each station your heat level will increase, which will result in enemy boats and helicopters attacking you. In order to unlock this trophy you must destroy 5 enemy helicopters using the new Rocket Boat. The boat has two primary weapons: a mounted machine gun and heat seeking missiles. The heat seeking missiles are by far the best weapon, as you can fire multiple missiles before the weapon needs to recharge. In order to use this weapon press . The machine gun is good for close-range enemies and can be used by pressing . Both weapons have a short recharge time if you use them too much.

Either weapon is good against helicopters and it comes down to personal preference as to which one you will use. Once you have destroyed 5 enemy helicopters, the trophy will unlock.

  • Defeat 10 enemy vehicles while in the air with the Rocket Boat.

This trophy may seem difficult at first. However if you have completed the Sea Vehicle Challenges from the main game you will have unlocked the Turbo Jump mod for sea vehicles. In order to unlock this you need to obtain all gears from the Boat Turbo Jump I and II challenges.

Once you have unlocked the Turbo Jump II mod, you can double tap to launch the boat into the air. Once in the air, you can then use the heat seeking rockets by pressing to destroy nearby vehicles. Both enemy boats and helicopters count towards this trophy.

It's best to first attract enemy vehicles by attacking one of the five Satellite Stations. This will increase your heat level and enemy vehicles will then start attacking you. Align your crosshair with enemy vehicles by moving the camera with . Then turbo jump into the air and immediately spam to fire your rockets. It shouldn't take too many attempts to get the hang of it. Once you have defeated 10 enemy vehicles whilst in the air with the Rocket Boat the trophy will unlock.

The below video provides a walkthrough on how to unlock this trophy.

  • Get the Rocket Boat, also known as "The Loochador".

    Story related, cannot be missed.

You will unlock this trophy during the very first mission of the DLC, The Setup. The mission will start with you getting a lift on a plane to hijack a cargo plane that is carrying the Rocket Boat. Hijack the plane and then enter the cargo bay to find the boat inside a shipping container. Use your grappling hook to throw the boat out of the back of the plane. Jump out of the plane and enter the boat and the trophy will unlock.

  • Defeat 1 enemy helicopter using the eDEN Spark.

The eDEN Spark is a powerful weapon unlocked during the final mission in the DLC, The Heist. In order to unlock this trophy you must destroy a single helicopter using the eDEN Spark. For for information on this weapon and how to use it, please refer to the Staying Power trophy description.

  • Defeat 10 enemies with the same eDEN Spark strike.

As mentioned in the Lightning Bolt! trophy description, you will unlock the eDEN Spark weapon towards the end of the final mission in the DLC, The Heist. The weapon creates a large lightning bolt from the sky that you can move around to destroy enemies and vehicles. It doesn’t have any ammunition, but does have to recharge after excessive use. To use the weapon press to equip it and hold to fire. In the bottom right corner of the screen will be the weapon's usage meter; once it reaches zero you will have to wait for it to recharge in order to use it again.

When you first obtain the eDEN Spark, it does not last very long before it needs to recharge. Completing the one and only challenge in the DLC will enable you to upgrade the weapon to increase its damage and reduce its recharge time. This will most certainly help in unlocking this trophy, so I suggest the first thing you do once you finish the story missions is complete this challenge and then equip each of the mods in the pause menu.

Once you have upgraded the eDEN Spark you then need to understand how the weapon can be used properly to hit multiple enemies in a single strike. When you shoot the weapon with you can keep ahold of the button to keep the lightning strike and then move your crosshair around to guide the lightning to different areas. As such, you don’t need to have ten enemies standing very close to one another in order to kill them all in one strike. However, the closer they are the better, as the weapon will drain fairly quickly before it needs to be recharged.

Now that we understand how the eDEN Spark works, and we have completely upgraded it by obtaining five gears in the single challenge in the DLC, we can now attempt the trophy. Firstly, we need to find a location with enemies. If you have completed the main game and the DLC, then you won’t have any unliberated outposts or Military Bases. As such, you will need to re-oppress an enemy base to restore the enemy population. It is best to do this on a small outpost so all enemies are located relatively close to one another and not spread out over a large base. Once you get to an outpost, get the enemies' attention and observe where they are all located. It might be worth counting them to ensure there is at least ten. Now equip the eDEN Spark and try and kill them all in a single strike. If you don’t succeed, then let the enemies kill you and start again.

The below video provides a walkthrough of how to unlock this trophy using the full upgraded eDEN Spark.
