After multiple titles ported from Vita to PS4, Just a Phrase is POWGI's first brand new, PS4-native game. As usual, they take a classic game but add their own special twist. This one is a Hangman-style game where each answer is a well-known phrase, but in this case with some words spelled differently, resulting in a pun-filled parody of the original saying. Each level begins with a certain number of blanks but, unlike normal hangman, you are only allowed to choose from 4 letter options each time, rather than any letter you like. However, there will always be at least one of those four that is correct, and often more than just the one.

All in all, this one carries the same trend, style, and utility of all the previous titles — it's a great choice for a quick platinum or a game to relax with. And, as always, it's got puns! ALL the puns!

The game is simple enough and, though there are no hints, there are also no penalties for incorrect guesses. The only time it matters is for one trophy ( Just So) to complete a single level with no incorrect answers, which you can easily do with the guide below.

STEP ONE— Play the game.
As you play the game, you'll likely achieve most trophies naturally. You will need to solve all 120 levels available for the Platinum (30 in each difficulty), but in addition to that, most of the trophies are focused not just on completion but rather how you complete it. Basically, there is a trophy for each letter of the alphabet which must be the very last letter you use to solve a level. Most letters are very common in the solutions so they'll come in the course of the game; you won't really need to focus on that as you play, but there are a few rare ones (mainly Q, X, and Z). There are specific levels where you can find these.

By the end of this step, you should have:

 Give me an "A"
 Give me a "B"
 Give me a "C"
 Give me a "D"
 Give me an "E"
 Give me an "F"
 Give me a "G"
 Give me an "H"
 Give me an "I"
 Give me a "J"
 Give me a "K"
 Give me an "L"
 Give me an "M"
 Give me an "N"
 Give me an "O"
 Give me a "P"
 Give me a "Q"
 Give me an "R"
 Give me an "S"
 Give me a "T"
 Give me a "U"
 Give me a "V"
 Give me a "W"
 Give me an "X"
 Give me a "Y"
 Give me a "Z"
 Page Won
 That Page Two
 Fare Three Well
 Go Fourth

STEP TWO — Clean up any remaining trophies.
Once you've completed all 120 levels, if you have any remaining letter-related trophies, now is the time to go back and collect them. Since incorrect guesses don't matter, the best way to do these would be to spam all the other letters involved, leaving that specific letter to the end, even if it is the only correct one among the four options.

Otherwise, you may have some miscellaneous trophies to clean up, such as re-solving a level, doing one in under 60 seconds, completing a puzzle using all incorrect letters first, and so on. All of these can be done in any puzzle of your choosing, and, in fact, many are easy to do on the very first one.

By the end of this step, you will have earned:

 Just So
 Just In Time
 Just a Minute
 Just a Guess
 Just My Luck
 Just Shoot Me
Just Because You Can Doesn't Mean You Should
 Just Like That
 Just Like Starting Over
 Just Amazed

  • Collect all the trophies

The longest part of this platinum is definitely that you have to solve all 120 levels. Unfortunately, there isn't a way around that, but using a guide should definitely cut down on the time necessary. If on the other hand you are playing through without one, remember that there are no penalties for incorrect guesses, so don't be concerned to make mistakes.

    Congrats!

  • Complete a phrase using "Z" as the final correct letter

Z is a rather rare letter to find, but you can find it in puzzle #079. (page 3, row 2, number 9) See below:

  • Complete a phrase with no wrong letters

You can do this on any level, including the first. See below for the answer to puzzle #001, or see below ( Page Won and on) for the answers to every puzzle divided by difficulty.

  • Complete a phrase in under 60 seconds

Complete any puzzle in under a minute. You can do this on any level, including the first. See below for the answer to puzzle #001, or see below ( Page Won and on) for the answers to every puzzle divided by difficulty.

  • Spend a minute considering the next letter

For this trophy, all you have to do is nothing! While in any puzzle, just put your controller down for a minute, don't touch any buttons, and the trophy will pop.

  • The first letter you chose for a phrase was wrong

When you first open a puzzle, choose any letter that is not found in that phrase and this trophy will pop. This will likely come naturally as you guess the words, but if not, you can do this in any puzzle at any time.

  • Select five wrong letters in a row

As with any puzzle, the game offers you four letters to choose from, corresponding to the four controller buttons. Select an incorrect letter not found in that phrase five times in a row and you'll get this trophy. If this doesn't come on its own as you complete all the levels, you can do this any time on any puzzle, even those you've completed before.

  • Select every wrong letter before completing a phrase

To get this trophy, you have to select all possible incorrect letters before completing the puzzle. You can put the incorrect answers in any order, whether you do it before putting in any correct letters at all, or whether you do it in between, as long as you wait to put the final correct letter after you've put all the wrong possibilities first.

Here is the solution using puzzle #001:

  • Complete a phrase by only pressing one button

Because you can make mistakes, you can choose one button to press over and over again, no matter what letter it gives you, until the puzzle is complete. However, depending on how many available letters in the alphabet remain, you may be unlucky and end with absolutely zero options for that particular button you chose. If that happens, just restart the puzzle and try again or do it on the next puzzle, and so on. I've found that using  for this seems to give you the best chance of avoiding this issue.

  • Your first choice appeared at least 4 times in the phrase

In all likelihood, you'll get this as you complete all of the levels. If by chance you didn't, or you want to do this earlier, a good level to do this on is puzzle #001 because it has two different letters that both appear 4 times each (H & E). When you open the puzzle, if by chance neither H nor E are among your first options, quit out to the menu and restart the level. Another good option is puzzle #045 (page 2, row 2, number 5) which contains 7 letter E's!

  • Complete a phrase for the second time

Simply replay any level you have already completed and the trophy will pop. It is quite easy to get a lot of these trophies together in one level, especially using puzzle #001.
