Introduction

Infinity Runner is a first person endless runner style game developed by Wales Interactive. This title features a rather short story mode (only 14 levels long, taking max 5 minutes each on Easy difficulty), and a variety of endless styled modes.

The platinum as a whole is fairly easy: the most difficult part, is completing each level with no deaths; but that should only take a little practice. Most of the time after that will be spent grinding the requirements towards the Bigger, Stronger, Faster trophy, as this will require 4 - 6 hours total of straight running time depending on how many story playthroughs you've completed.

Walkthrough

Step 1: Complete the Story mode

In this first step, you should focus on completing all the story levels once, on whichever difficulty you desire. I would recommend Easy or Normal on your first playthrough to get used to the game and it’s controls, as they can be somewhat unruly to start out with. You will mostly likely earn half of the trophies from the game by just playing through the story without really focusing on anything, as most of the trophies come fast and easy through natural play. Make sure to collect as many data packets as you can if you should come across one to lessen your Terror Bite trophy grind later on. You should also try to collect all the collectibles you come across as you earn them, that way you don’t have to worry about them later.

In this step you will earn:
Baby Steps
Meter Made
Prison Break
Running on Empty
The Running Man
Cool Runnings
First Data
Nice Packet
Dire Straights
Terror Bite
Valley Commando
Bad Moon Rising
Pointless
Whats the Point?
Points Mean Prizes
Informed
Infotainment
Event Horizon
Space Odyssey
Unleash The Beast
Full Moon
You Can Leave Your Hat On
Space, Planets and Variations There Of...
In Space, No One Can Hear You Howl
Moon Walk
Spaced Out
She Doesn't Have the Power
Soap on a Rope
Hanging in There
Training Day
Outta Space
Looks Like I Have The Con
Back to Nature

Step 2: Complete all levels without dying

Your next step will be to complete all levels on all difficulties without dying to meet the requirement to earn the Bigger, Stronger, Faster trophy. This isn't very hard to complete with a bit of practice, but it can be tedious at times, as the challenge does not stack so it must be completed on each difficulty. In this step, you should also make sure to grab all of the remaining collectibles if you hadn't previously, as you won’t be playing story mode again after you finish this step.

In this step you will earn:
Fur Covered Furry Fury
Prospect Point
Data Hound with Espionage
Grease Money
Hard Time
Dock with Orange Sauce
Crossing The Line
Out and Proud
Bridge Over Troubled Water
Got Wood?

Step 3: Grind requirements for max wolf level, clean up misc trophies

Your last step will be to grind out the remaining requirements towards the Bigger, Stronger, Faster trophy, which will likely be where the majority of your platinum time is spent. You should also clean up the rest of the random/miscellaneous trophies in the game if you haven’t already done so.

Note: There is a bug that is possible to trigger in endless mode that can allow you to negate the distance and point grinding that would normally be required to do this. See Bigger, Stronger, Faster for more info on this.

In this step you should earn:
The Proclaimer
From Paris to Berlin
To Infinity
... and Beyond
What You Talkin' Bout Willis?
Aware Wolf
Air Wolf
Silent Running
Silver Bullet
Bark at the Moon
Bigger, Faster, Stronger
Beyond Gold

  • Run 400,000 metres.

This trophy and all other previous “Run X metres” trophies are earned after running a total amount equal to the number specified in each trophy description. This total is cumulative across all deaths, restarts, and game modes. You can view your current total metres ran under challenges in the main menu.

See Bigger, Stronger, Faster for more info.

  • Run 100 metres without collecting any data packets.

  • Run 350 metres without collecting any data packets.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

This and the previous two trophies are earned for running the specified distance without picking up any data packets. They are impossible to not earn short of quitting the game 10 seconds into the first level as you will run minimum 350 metres in the first level before you are even told what data packets are.

  • Collect 100 data packets.

  • Collect 6000 data packets.

This and the previous “collect X data packets” trophies are earned for collecting the specified number of data packets. This total is cumulative across all deaths, restarts, and game modes. You should be focusing on picking up data packets as you play, as they contribute to your score and earn you extra lives in all game modes. Assuming you are collecting them at all opportunities, you should earn all these trophies in your first playthrough of the game. You should also still continue to collect them after you've met the requirement as you need a total of 10,000 data packets to earn the Bigger, Stronger, Faster trophy. You can view your current packets collected under challenges in the main menu.

See Bigger, Stronger, Faster for more info.

  • Win 50 fights.

As you are running through the game you will occasionally run into groups of enemies where you will need to engage in a quicktime event that you will need to finish to advance onto the next group of enemies. There around 30 - 40 fights in the story levels, so it will require two playthroughs to earn this trophy. You will need to continue engaging in fights after this though, as 250 wins are required for the Bigger, Stronger, Faster trophy. This total is cumulative across all deaths, restarts, and game modes. You can view your current fights won under challenges in the main menu.

  • Score 500,000 points.

This trophy and all previous “score X points” trophies are earned for scoring the specified number of points in any game mode. Points have no real set value in this game, other than it is around 1 point per meter ran and then extra for fights won and data packets collected. This total is cumulative across all deaths, restarts, and modes. There is no way to actually track how many points you have. Your total points aren't shown anywhere in the game like the other cumulative numbers, but you will earn this while working towards the requirements for Bigger, Stronger, Faster.

  • Find 3 collectables.

    See Data Hound with Espionage.

  • Find 9 collectables.

    See Data Hound with Espionage.

  • Find all the collectables

Collectables are represented by floating diamond shapes with a glowing orb in the middle (this is also what powerups look like in arcade mode). There is one collectable in each sector in each level, meaning there are a total of 14 you must collect. The collectables will always be in rooms you run through without any hazards, so as long as you know to grab them when you see them they are fairly hard to miss. The only way to know for certain whether you have picked up a collectable in a sector, is at the end of level screen where it shows your time and score, so you should note down if you miss any during your first playthrough, that way you can be sure to get them on your hard playthrough. Collectables that you've collected carry over between the three difficulties and they won’t appear again in a level once you have collected them.

An example of what collectibles and powerups look like.

  • Watch a cutscene.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

    See Space Odyssey.

  • Watch all the cutscenes.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

Cutscenes are the recordings, or cutscenes are shown after each sector. You will earn this trophy after you watch the final cutscene after you finish the last level, "Bio Dome Sector 2".

  • Turn off subtitles.

This trophy is earned for turning off the subtitles in the options menu. To reach the options menu, you must be on the main menu, followed by: Options > Audio options > Subtitles > Off, followed by selecting "Apply" on the bottom of the menu.

  • Take a look at the powerups screen.

This trophy is earned for viewing the powerups screen in the Arcade mode menu. To get there, choose Arcade mode on the main menu, then select powerups info on the bottom left.

  • Become a werewolf for the first time.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

You will earn this trophy in the level, "Brig Sector 1". At one point in this level, you will run through a room that looks like a floating laser gun. Once you've ran through this, you will become a werewolf for the first time.

  • Find the Werewolf in the Docks.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

This trophy is earned in the Docks level. At one point in this level, you will go through a room with a zipline and the game will go into slow motion. If you look down and to the right, you will see a Werewolf standing on the lower area of the room. You will earn this trophy regardless of whether you look at the werewolf or not.

  • Get to the elevator.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

Each level is completed by reaching the elevator at the end of the area after a specific distance. You will earn this trophy after completing the first sector in the game.

  • Wolf mode the space section.

You can only earn this trophy by playing in arcade mode, and it is fairly annoying to get. The only area that spawns space sections in arcade mode is the "Ship Exterior level", so you need to either carry a powerup up to this area, or pick up one in it. With some luck, you can start on Ship Exterior and possibly pickup one up there, but if you are not so lucky, you can start on any of the earlier sections and try to carry a wolf powerup to there. I found that the longer you played the game, the more likely you'll find a wolf powerup, but it will still sometimes give you one right away. If you wish to try to carry one to that area, make sure not to pick up anymore powerups as this overrides your current held one, and dying will also drop any powerup that you were holding prior to dying.

Once you have a wolf powerup in the ship exterior area, you will want to activate it almost immediately. The game will normally spawn more of the space areas than any other area, so as long as you activate it and don’t immediately die, you will be okay. Also try to activate it in a longer hallway to give time for the transformation animation, as you cannot control your character until it is over. Once you reach a space area while in werewolf form, simply jump onto the ledge and you will earn this trophy immediately. You also won’t earn this trophy if you fall off the ledge and die, such as if you are stuck in the middle of the transformation animation.

  • Turn the music off.

This trophy is earned for turning the music off in the options menu. To reach the options menu, you must be on the main menu and then choose Options > Audio options > drag “Music Volume” slider all the way left, followed by choosing "Apply" on the bottom.

  • Story related, cannot be missed.

This trophy is earned for defeating the boss in "Bio Dome Sector 2". The boss is a quicktime event like every other enemy, but has three different phases that you must advance through. The first two sections are just regular hit the buttons as they show up on screen, but the third section you must alternate hitting and a total of 40 times in about 5 - 10 seconds. Once you have finished all three of these quicktime events, you will complete the event and the trophy will unlock.

  • Story related, cannot be missed.

This trophy is earned after you finish the level, "Bio Dome Sector 2", and complete the game. This trophy will be awarded when you return to the Level Select screen after viewing the last cutscene and credits.

  • First time in a gravity well.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

Gravity wells are the hallway sections you will come across in Wolf mode that require you to move to the side and jump on the wall to traverse them. You will earn this trophy after your first wolf transformation in the Brig levels, as this is when gravity wells start to appear.

  • Die in wolf mode.

This trophy is earned for getting yourself killed while in wolf mode. While in wolf mode, you can’t actually be killed in normal ways like running into walls or losing quick time events, so you will most likely have to go out of your way to do this. The easiest, and earliest way you can do this in story mode is by falling onto the first gravity well you come across in the brig levels. When prompted to jump on the wall just let yourself run straight and you will fall into the well and die.

  • Complete the first set of challenges.

Challenges can be viewed on the main menu by selecting "Challenges". To earn this trophy you must complete all challenges listed under Wolf Level 01. Just finishing the story you will more than likely complete most of this naturally except "Score 1,000 points in Infinity Mode". Infinity mode is the endless part of the game that you can play by choosing Arcade Mode on the main menu. You will only have to run a couple of minutes to earn the 1,000 points required for this first challenge, but they will only count once you finish the run by running out of lives and are shown the score screen.

See Bigger, Stronger, Faster for more info on challenges.

  • Get to an outdoor section.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

This trophy is earned for reaching an outdoor section in the game. These sections first appear in the story in the Brig section. Alternatively, they appear in the Ship Exterior section in Arcade mode.

Overall, Hard difficulty is not much different than the other difficulties. The most noticeable change is the increased running speed, which makes the levels go considerably faster than than Easy or Normal (they take a maximum of 2 minutes on Hard mode). There are also a few different obstacles that are added in, but most of them are easy to get through once you figure out how to advance through them.

    General Hard Difficulty Tips

Don’t overthink obstacles - Some of the obstacles added in Hard mode might look daunting and need to duck and jump over multiple things, but none of them do. Most of them requiring only moving towards the side once, or twice, followed by ducking or jumping once. Some of the more complicated looking ones (mostly the laser traps) don’t require much action to avoid.

Don’t worry about collecting data packets - You’ll most likely want to be doing the no death run all at once on Hard mode, so the extra lives given by data packets won’t help because you cannot lose any anyway; therefore, you shouldn't go out of your way to collect any, but rather be focusing on the obstacles and memorizing the levels.

Level layouts are always the same - In story mode the level layouts never change, so you can memorize everything that happens in a level, then go through it once you have the whole thing down. If you would like to take a practice run at the level to get a feel for what all shows up feel free to do so, as levels take a maximum of 2 minutes to finish on Hard mode.

  • Reach maximum wolf level.

This trophy is earned for completing all of the challenges related to Wolf Level 06, which is shown at the bottom of the challenges menu that can be accessed from the main menu. This trophy is the main one that you are working for as you play the game, as most of the other cumulative total trophies tie into this trophy in some way. This trophy can take a considerable amount of grinding to get, as the requirement for 400,000 meters takes 6 - 8 hours of play time on it’s own to get if you can't trigger the bug to cause yourself to fall endlessly through the map.

Listed below is info on each of the Level 6 challenges and ways to go about finishing them:

Complete the story on Hard Difficulty with no deaths

To complete this challenge and the previous challenges for completing the game without dying, you must complete a full run of each level on each difficulty without dying a single time. If you die at any point during the level, pause the game and choose to restart from the beginning of the level. These challenges do not stack, so you must complete each level once on each difficulty without dying to complete each challenge.

Run 400,000 Meters in any mode of play

This will be the last challenge that you will complete, as it can take a minimum 6 - 7 hours of running to earn if you aren't able to trigger the glitch where you fall through the floor. You run around 10,000 meters for every ten minutes spent running, so earning this should take around 400 minutes of actual running. After finishing the story three times you will most likely only have around 150,000 - 200,000 meters ran, so this will require a fair amount of running in infinite mode to complete. While grinding this in infinite mode, it is recommended that you turn off fights prior to starting a run, as they stop you for 10 - 15 seconds and break the grove of the game. You will complete this challenge at the same time as you earn the trophy, From Paris to Berlin.

There is a bug that can be triggered during infinite mode that causes you to fall through the floor in the Ship Exterior area. When this happens you will be falling endlessly into nothing at an ever increasing rate, which causes you to gain distance and score at an extremely fast speed. After about 5 minutes of falling you should have gained more than enough distance to reach 400,000, which will earn you From Paris to Berlin as well as count for the requirement for this trophy. You can't have this score count toward the 30k for infinite mode though, as your score is only saved when you lose all lives and end the run, which can't happen when you fall through the floor.

To trigger this bug, start Infinite mode on Monorail. You will need to run through one full map rotation and then get to the Ship Exterior location again. At this time, you will then bug while in the Ship Exterior section, causing you to at some point endlessly fall through space. (Thank you to PatricioUSA2 for figuring out how to trigger this bug).

Collect 10,000 data packets in any mode of play

You will finish this challenge from regular gameplay, and while grinding out the 400,000 meters required for this trophy and From Paris to Berlin. Packets still earn you extra lives in arcade mode (though not at a consistent rate like in story mode) so you should always be aiming to pick them up.

Won 250 fights in any game mode

This challenge will require a considerable amount of grinding past what is required for the fight trophies themselves. You will only need to finish 50 fights for the three trophies, but this challenge requires 5 times that amount. Playing through the game twice will only complete 80 - 100 fights (depending on restarts in Hard mode), so this will require a fair amount of fights in Arcade mode or 3 - 4 more playthroughs of the story mode. Once you reach this total though, it is recommended that you turn fights off when starting runs of arcade mode.

Score 30,000 points in Infinity Mode

This is the only challenge that requires you to earn a specific amount of points in a mode. Infinite mode is the default mode that you play if you chose Arcade mode, and is the one you should be playing towards grinding distance for the 400,000 meters challenge/trophy.

Note: This is the only challenge that isn't cumulative, so you must finish a run of Infinite mode with at least 30,000 points. This takes a run of around at least 20 minutes to do, so you need to be able to do a single run that long only for this challenge.
