A fair way into Hogwarts Legacy you’ll unlock the Room of Requirement. A fair few missions after that, you’ll attend Beasts Class. And then, a few more missions after that, you’ll unlock the mission “The Elf, The Nab-Sack and The Loom.”

This whole mission introduces you to how to catch wild beasts and where to find them. The quest will also introduce you to harvesting valuable items and using the loom to upgrade equipment too. In fact, you’ll have to upgrade a piece of gear as part of the quest. So, just stick to the quest and you’ll unlock this, no problem.
