At the core of Warner Bros’ Hogwarts Legacy, the latest action-RPG video game based on JK Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Wizarding World, is what Avalanche Studios calls its Collection. This Collection is exactly how it sounds: a collection of every single thing you can find in the game. There's even a trophy for completing the whole thing, AKA the infamous Collector's Edition trophy!
Two of Hogwarts Legacy’s more straightforward sections for its Collection are none other than its Tools and Ingredients lists. The Tools and Ingredients Collection lists are intrinsically linked. For instance, to create all of Hogwarts Legacy’s potions at a Potions Station, you need a ton of Hogwarts Legacy's ingredients.
While the Tools list is mostly related to potions you can make, it also includes the 3 offensive plants too - which can also be grown in Potting Tables. The Ingredients list, on the other hand, has a mix of plants you can grow in your Room of Requirement, open-world resources like Ashwinder Eggs and Moonstone, and enemy drops. If you’re looking for Hogwarts Legacy potion ingredients locations too, you’ve come to the right place.
Below we’ve not only put where you can buy each relevant recipe and from where and for how much, we’ve also added some details on where you can find certain enemy types and where the open-world ingredients spawn.
On top of the below it’s also worth bearing in mind that shop vendors often sell these resources too. For instance, Dogweed and Deathcap also sells ready to use Madrakes, Venomous Tentacular and Chinese Chomping Cabbages to buy too, as well as their seeds.
All you need to do is have 1 of each in your inventory once and they’ll be marked off as complete in your collection - we’ve not included Felix Felicis, as that’s a pre-order exclusive for PS5 players.

Hogwarts Legacy All Ingredients List (16)
Ashwinder Eggs - One of the few resources in Hogwarts Legacy you can’t grow and have to forage. Mostly found in rocky areas, but there’s a couple of nice spawns: 1. Northwest of the Dubog Lair in the South Sea Bog; 2. Just south-southeast of the Medium Bandit Camp in Clagmar Coast.
Dittany Leaves - You’ll buy Dittany Seeds from the Magic Neep as part of the “Welcome to Hogsmeade” quest and can plant a Dittany plant in either the greenhouse or the Room of Requirement.
Dugbog Tongue - Kill a Dugbog and they’ll drop this. Dugbogs are rampant all over the swamp areas (both the North Sea Bog and the South Sea Bog); and there’s also a Dugbog den to the east of the West Hogwarts Valley Floo Flame.
Fluxweed Stem - Seeds can be bought from The Magic Neep and grown in large pots in your Room of Requirement.
Horklump Juice - Found “Underground,” like in caves. We found more than a few in Jackdaw’s Tomb in the Forbidden Forest, for instance.
Knotgrass Sprig - Purchase Knotgrass at The Magic Neep and grow in pots of any size (whether in the greenhouse or in your Room of Requirement).
Lacewing Flies - Just head north of Hogwarts along the path, on the way to Hogsmeade and you'll find them just off the path. You’ll also find them in the Forbidden Forest, amongst many other places too. There’s also a good batch on the path north out of Hogsmeade.
Leaping Toadstool Caps - Again, on the path to Hogsmeade, near the Forbidden Forest Floo Flame. Loads in the forest itself.
Leech Juice - Found on “waterfronts.” Like near the waterfall in the Forbidden Forest.
Mallowsweet - Purchase seeds at The Magic Neep and grow in pots of any size. These are key if you want to complete all ofHogwarts Legacy's Merlin Trials.
Moonstone - Moonstone can be found all over Hogwarts Legacy’s open-world, particularly near cliff faces. The best way to get loads of them though is to buy the Material Refiner Spellcraft for 1,500 Coins from Tomes and Scrolls, which gives you 10 Moonstone every 10 minutes - and you can build 3 in your Room of Requirement.
Shrivelfig Fruit - Purchase seeds from The Magic Neep and grow in a medium or large pot in your Room of Requirement.
Spider Fangs - Dropped by spiders of all kinds. Often found underground, but there are 2 or 3 Spider Lairs in the Forbidden Forest: One near the East North Hogwarts Region Floo Flame; one east of Jackdaw’s Tomb; and one in the north, southwest of the North Ford Bog Entrance Floo Flame.
Stench of the Dead - Dropped by undead enemies like Inferius. There’s a Inferi Lair southwest of the Northern South Sea Bog Floo Flame, as well as one over the bridge in Keenbridge, Hogwarts Valley, to the east.
Troll Bogeys - Dropped by dead Trolls. You can find Troll Dens in: 1. In the Forbidden Forest, southwest of the North Ford Bog Entrance Floo Flame; and 2. At the northern tip of Clagmar Coast.
Mongrel Fur - Dropped by dead Mongrels. While Mongrels are all over Hogwarts Legacy’s open-world, there’s a few notable Mongrel Dens: 1. South of Lower Hogsfield, in the woods a fair way away (East of West Hogwarts Valley Floo Flame too); 2. South-southeast of the East Hogsmeade Valley Floo Flame.
