Grid is a racing game released by Codemasters in which you'll race using a range of differing vehicle categories. The majority of events consist of races but there are some time attack events to mix it up a little. The game does have an online mode but all trophies are obtained in the single player mode.

It’s a pretty standard racer with two mechanics which differ slightly. There is a nemesis mode which if you collide with another racer enough times you will become their nemesis and they will suddenly have an increased driving ability along with being more aggressive against you. You can also rewind time should you make a mistake, this is limited to 5 uses per race.

Step 1: Career mode

Work through the main career events in any order you wish, I would recommend you complete each discipline at a time rather than jumping between events as the handling of vehicles do differ. While working through each event you should be aiming to obtain gold to limit any replaying of events. Any which you do not obtain gold on first time, I would replay there and then.

Step 2: Miscellaneous

Upon completion of the career mode you should focus on unlocking the miscellaneous trophies as some will likely not unlock, through naturally playing the career mode unless you specifically aim to earn them.

Trophies earned in this step:

Coupon Car
Underdog
Show Off
Pristine
RavenBest

Step 3: Grind for miles

This will be the longest step towards your by a long way as you now need to grind up the miles required for the Around the Globe trophy. This trophy will take a long time as it's likely that you will be less than 10% of the way there by the time you've completed everything else in the game. Fortunately, there is an AFK method but this will still take a large amount of hours to complete.

Trophies earned in this step:

Race Driver
Around the Globe
Undisputed

Warning: There have been some reports of peoples saved data becoming corrupted so I'd suggest backing up your save file fairly frequently.

There have been three DLC Season releases for Grid all consisting of the same amount of content. Each season adds some new vehicles, 33 new events to take part in along with additional objectives which can be found in the respective tabs under the player profile section. The DLC is available to purchase separately or bundled together in the season pass. In terms of trophies you can ignore all the new events and simply complete each one in Free Play because all of trophies are awarded for beating lap times on certain tracks using a specific vehicle. In terms of difficulty it's fairly consistent with the base game so if you've completed the career mode, you shouldn’t have any issues with the DLC. Saying that the Season 2 DLC contains the most challenging trophy from the entire list with A Wheely Good Time .

Step 1: Do the trophies in any order you wish since everything you need will be unlocked from from the start by purchasing each of the Season DLCs.

As some general points before you commence:

  • I recommend attempting each trophy in free play – time attack (where possible) as this will give you a high speed start and you’ll be able to complete a number of trophies on your first lap.

  • Trophies will unlock as soon as you finish the lap and you've beaten the time. You can immediately quit out of the event.

  • If you go off track and cause the timer to turn red then the lap has been invalidated and it will not count even if you do beat the required time.

  • Against each trophy you will see recommended tuning settings. These are the settings I used to complete the trophy, however you may wish to first attempt the trophy using settings you're comfortable with. By changing settings you may introduce a learning curve which will potentially increase the time required to earn the trophies.

  • With all trophies follow the racing line and don't worry too much about driving aggressively unless otherwise stated. The times are fairly generous and some of the times you’d have to probably purposely try to not beat the required time.

All trophies will be earned during this step.

  • Earn all other Trophies

Earn all the non-DLC trophies in the game, to get this one.

  • Gain entry to the GRID World Series

To gain entry into the World Series, you need to complete four showdown events for the differing vehicle categories in the career mode.

  • Win the 'Showdown: Ravenwest' Career Event

This is the final career event in the game and is unlocked by completing all the prior events in the Grid series. The difficulty here remains the same level of the rest of the game and should be fairly straight forward by this point. You do not get to choose your vehicle but there is no need to alter any tuning settings. Simply finish first in the race and you will win the event.

  • Win the 'Showdown: Hammerhead' Career Event

You will unlock this Showdown Event by completing ten events within the Touring vehicle category. You don't get to choose your vehicle but there is no need to alter any tuning settings, simply finish first in the race and you will win the event.

You will unlock this Showdown Event by completing ten events within the Invitational vehicle category. You don't get to choose your vehicle but there is no need to alter any tuning settings, simply finish first in the race and you will win the event.

  • Reach player level 50

    See Race Driver for details.

  • Purchase your first car

This will likely be your first trophy. When you enter you first event you will be taken to a vehicle selection screen and you will need to purchase a vehicle to be able to select it for usage. Depending on the edition of the game you’ve purchased and which vehicle discipline you pick to go with first you may not need to purchase a vehicle straight away.

  • Purchase at least one car in each class

There are 23 classes in total in which you will need to own a vehicle and they are as follows:

    - TC-2
    - Super Tourers
    - TC-1 Specials
    - Muscle
    - Pro Trucks
    - Oval Stocks
    - Modified
    - Super Modified
    - World Time Attack
    - Group 2
    - Group 1
    - Prototype
    - Skirmish (You don't need to buy this one, you will automatically obtain it)
    - Classic Mini Cup
    - Classic Touring Car
    - Super Tourers Heritage
    - F1000
    - Historic GT
    - Classic GT
    - G7 Specials
    - Ferrari Cup
    - Classic Ferrari Cup
    - R26

If you have the VIP edition then you will have no issue with earning enough money to comfortably buy every vehicle in the game by the time you finish career events. If you don't have the VIP mode you may need to replay a number of events to obtain enough money.

  • Reach Player Level 99

You earn XP for most actions within a race such as overtaking, near misses, drafting, drifting etc. Following completion of a race the game will take you to a screen which shows your XP earned for the race, your rank up, any unlocks and also any milestones completed.

By the time you finish all career events you will likely be between rank 70 & 90. However there is absolutely no need to grind specifically for XP as you will gain more than enough while grinding for the Around the Globe trophy. From the methods detailed under Around the Globe you will earn between 5500 & 6500 XP per 99 lap race using method A. You will earn in excess of 8500 XP per 99 lap race using method B.

  • Earn a gold trophy in every Career Event

This trophy shouldn’t pose any problems for you as none of the events are difficult, all can be completed without having to make changes to your tuning settings. You should note that you do not need to finish first in every race in the game, winning gold for an event is sufficient. Please consult the specific category trophies to see my suggested vehicles which I used.

  • Drive a total distance equal to the circumference of the Earth

This is a huge grind and will be where the majority of the time will be spent in earning the . You will need to drive a total of 24901miles / 40075km. You can track your current total within the player profile section under statistics. By the time I had finished all career trophies and also all DLC trophies I had driven a total of 1950miles/3138km. There are two suggested methods for going for this trophy, both will take a large amount of time.

    Method A – Player controlled:

Under free play select the following setup:
    Vehicle: Invitational
    Vehicle class: Group 7 Specials
    Track: Indianapolis
    Route: Oval Circuit
    Laps: 99
    Grid size: 1
    Vehicle: Porsche 917/30
You will be able to finish the 99 laps in just over an hour and the total mileage added will be 251.46miles. Under the assumption that you’re at 2000miles/3218km by the point of completing everything else in the game this method will take in the region of 90-100 hours.

Method B – AFK Rubber band:

Under free play select the following setup:
    Vehicle: Seasons
    Vehicle class: Track Day Hypercar
    Track: Indianapolis
    Route: Oval Circuit
    Laps: 99
    Grid size: 1
Vehicle: Bugatti Veyron (You must own the season 3 DLC)

    Tuning settings as follows:
    Gear Ratio -2
    Springs +1
    Dampers +1
    Anti-Roll Bars +1
    Brake Bias 0

You will be able to finish the 99 laps in roughly 2 hours and 25 minutes and the total mileage added will be 251.46miles. Under the assumption that you’re at 2000miles/3218km by the point of completing everything else in the game this method will take in the region of 220 hours. Using this method you will need to setup a rubber band to hold down , then walk away leaving your console running. You can then come back every 2 hours and 25 minutes to set a new race going. Be aware that occasionally the Bugatti will get stuck and therefore not finish the race. This doesn't occur very often at all so nothing to be particularly worried about.

Credit to Lightsp33d1987 for posting the AFK method here: LINK

There is a further AFK method which can be used if you have access to remote play. Credit to thedarkness91 for detailing the instructions in the following linked thread: LINK

  • Complete every Career Event in the Invitational category

You will unlock events by completing events within the other categories along with earlier events within the Invitational, each event tells you which one is required to unlock it. Once you unlock the event the category pits you in varying vehicle types with none being difficult. All events can be completed without amending any tuning settings for your vehicles.

  • Customise your first livery

When selecting a car either for an event or in your garage you will have the option to customise it by pressing square. You will then be taken to a screen where you have multiple options of customising the livery on your vehicle. Simply change it from default and this trophy will unlock.

  • Complete every Career Event in the FA Racing category

Simply work your way through each event and further ones will unlock as you progress. The vehicles for each class are pretty similar but the following list, details the ones I used:

    F1000
    Ford Falcon FG-X Supercar
    Ferrari 488 GTE
    Cadillac Dpi-V.R

All events can be completed without amending any vehicle tuning settings. The team driver you select doesn't really matter but I would suggest you select one which has a lower winnings % so that you keep more of the money after each race.

  • Complete every Career Event in the GT category

Simply work your way through each event and further ones will unlock as you progress. The vehicles for each class are pretty similar but the following list, details the ones I used:

    Nissan 350Z (Z33) Gr.2
    Ferrari 488 GTE
    Cadillac Dpi-V.R

All events can be completed without amending any vehicle tuning settings. The team driver you select doesn't really matter but I would suggest you select one which has a lower winnings % so that you keep more of the money after each race.

  • Complete every Career Event in the Stock category

Simply work your way through each event and further ones will unlock as you progress. The vehicles for each class are pretty similar but the following list, details the vehicles I used:

    Dodge Challenger SRT Modified
    Dumont Type 37
    Jupiter San Marino Oval Stock

All events can be completed without amending any vehicle tuning settings. The team driver you select doesn't really matter but I would suggest you select one which has a lower winnings % so that you keep more of the money after each race.

  • Complete every Career Event in the Touring category

Simply work your way through each event and further ones will unlock as you progress. The vehicles for each class are pretty similar but the following list, details the ones I used:

    Audi RS 3 LMS
    Ford Falcon FG-X Supercar
    BMW M1 Turbo Group 5

All events can be completed without amending any vehicle tuning settings. The team driver you select doesn’t really matter but I would suggest you select one which has a lower winnings % so that you keep more of the money after each race.

  • Complete every Career Event in the Tuner category

Simply work your way through each event and further ones will unlock as you progress. The vehicles for each class are pretty similar but the following list, details the ones I used:

    Honda S2000 Modified
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI Time Attack
    Audi R8 1:1

All events can be completed without amending any vehicle tuning settings. The team driver you select doesn't really matter but I would suggest you select one which has a lower winnings % so that you keep more of the money after each race.

  • Win a race by crossing the line backwards

This one sounds trickier than it actually is as it can be done quite easily given that you can use a qualifying lap to start from first place on the grid. You will want to have a good race and obtain a lead of above 5 seconds at least. When approaching the finish line quickly do a 180 and floor it in reverse over the line. Remember you can rewind time up to five times if you mess up. This can be done across varying vehicle classes but picking a quicker one may make it easier for you. By switching the difficulty to very easy you gain the ability to have unlimited rewinds which can be put to use if you're struggling with this trophy.

  • Beat your first Nemesis

You will earn a nemesis rank by colliding with another racer too many times in a race. When you reach this point a message will appear on screen stating that you are now someone's nemesis. From this point you simply need to finish in a higher position than that racer.

  • Win a race in a Ravenwest livery with Nathan McKane as your team mate

You first need to obtain gold in the Ravenswood showdown (please see Best of the Best trophy) which will unlock the required livery and driver. Nathan McKane can then be selected as your teammate for 150,000. One you’ve selected him go to the GT event 'Sunoco Prototype Super Sprint' and highlight the Cadillac. Click to change your livery on the required one will be the second option under Stock. Select the livery and then simply finish first in the race.

  • Win an Event with at least 3 other racers using a loan car

This trophy is easily done in free play and a loan car is one that you do not currently own, note that not all cars can be loaned. I earned this by using Touring Cars class TC-2. Simply select a grid size of 4 and choose 1 round, select the car which has the option to be loaned and then win the race.

  • Beat your first Career Rival

You will be able identify a rival by the fact they have an orange helmet inside of a triangle in the top left of the screen where it shows rankings. Simply finish ahead of this racer to unlock the trophy. You will have numerous opportunities for this and will come naturally when earning a gold in all events.

  • Win an Event with a full grid having finished the first round in last place

This trophy can be a little misleading depending on how you interpret the wording. Where the trophy states round, this means the first race in each event - I've detailed an example below:

    Event 'Fatlace TC-2 Street Cup'
    Round 1 – Shanghai
    Round 2 – San Francisco
    Round 3 – Barcelona
    Round 4 - Havana

To earn this trophy select a four race event and then purposely finish in last place for the first race. You then need to ensure you finish first in the remaining three races for the event to finish with the gold. You could complete this in a three race event but the risk is increased dependant on where the other racers finish across the races.

  • Finish a race with at least 3 other racers without taking any damage

You can do this is free play or just as easily in career events. When entering the first race of an event select to participate in the qualifying lap first and make sure you finish with the quickest lap time. By doing this you will start in first place on the gird and will simply have to ensure you complete the race without colliding with another driver which will be simple enough as you’re already in first and also ensure you do not hit any walls.

  • Win your first Career Event

An event will consist of 1-4 separate races. To finish in first place for the event you will need to earn the most ranking points across races. This will unlock on your way to the as you need to obtain gold in all events.

DLC: Season 1

3 trophies

  • Complete the High Altitude Objective

For this trophy you need to beat a time of 04:11.700 with:

Track: Okutama Sprint – Mizu Mountain (only available in race discipline)
Vehicle: Audi S1 Quattro Concept (Category: Seasons, Class: Super Hatches)

This is an easy trophy and no specific vehicle settings are required. Follow the racing line and you'll likely get this on your first attempt.

  • Complete the Delta Time Objective

For this trophy you need to beat a time of 01:38.000 with:

    Track: Shanghai – Waibaidu Way
Vehicle: Lancia Delta HF Integrale Super Hatch (Category: Seasons, Class: Super Hatches)

This is an easy trophy and no specific vehicle settings are required. Follow the racing line and you'll likely get this on your first attempt.

  • Complete the Fast for a Hatchback Objective

For this trophy you need to beat a time of 01:52:600 with:

Track: Havana – Paseo de Marti
Vehicle: Mini Hatch JCW (Category: Seasons, Class: Super Hatches)

    Recommended vehicle settings:

    Gear Ratio +1
    All others left at default

This one is slightly more challenging than the previous two trophies in the DLC but as long you stick to the driving line you'll get this within a few attempts.

DLC: Season 2

3 trophies

  • Complete the British Heritage Objective

For this trophy you need to beat a time of 01:53:200 with:

Track: Silverstone Circuit – Grand Prix Circuit
Vehcile: Brabham BT62 (Category: Seasons, Class: Track Day GT)

    Recommended vehicle setting:

    Gear Ratio -2
    Springs +2
    Dampers +2
    Anti-roll +1
    Brake Bias 0

As with the other trophies follow the driving line and you’ll be good to go. This is another easy one which you'll likely finish on your first attempt.

  • Complete the Burning Rubber Objective

For this trophy you need to beat a time of 01:54:300 with:

Track: Sepang International Circuit – Full Track
Vehicle: Ferrari FXX (Category: Seasons, Class: Track Day GT)

    Recommended vehicle settings:

    Gear Ratio -2
    Springs +2
    Dampers +2
    Anti-roll +1
    Brake Bias 0

As with the other trophies follow the driving line and you will be good to go. This is another easy one which you'll likely finish on your first attempt.

  • Complete the A Wheely Good Time Objective

For this trophy you need to beat a time of 01:40:600 with:

Track: Crescent Valley – GP Circuit
Vehicle: Aston Martin Vulcan AMR Pro (Category: Seasons, Class: Track Day GT)

    Recommended vehicle settings:

    Gear Ratio +1
    Springs +2
    Dampers +2
    Anti-roll +1
    Brake Bias 0

This is the hardest trophy in the entire list from the base game and DLC. You'll want to follow the driving line fairly strictly but hit the corners more aggressively than you've probably been used to from the rest of the game. You're looking at a pretty strict lap time to beat which doesn't allow too much room for error. Saying that with some practice this trophy really is not a comparison to challenges from other driving games such as GT & DriveClub. This is potentially going to take you 10+ laps to achieve but each lap you're likely to see some extra time shaved off so stick with it.

DLC: Season 3

3 trophies

  • Complete the Gone in a Flash Objective

For this trophy you need to beat a time of 01:47:800 with:

Track: Okutama GP – Grand Circuit
Vehicle: Koenigsegg Agera RS (Category: Seasons, Class: Track Day Hypercar)

    Recommended vehicle setting:

    Gear Ratio -1
    All others left at default.

Another straight forward time to beat which by this stage of the DLC it's likely you will beat this first time.

  • Complete the Painting the Track red Objective

For this trophy you need to beat a time of 01:25:600 with:

    Track: Indianapolis – Sport Circuit
Vehicle: Ferrari FXX-K Evo (Category: Seasons, Class: Track Day Hypercar)

    Recommended vehicle settings:

    Gear Ratio -1
    Springs +2
    Dampers +2
    Anti-roll +1
    Brake Bias 0

Stick to the racing line and don't push the car too aggressively as this is another pretty generous lap time.

  • Complete the Flights to Catch Objective

For this trophy you need to beat a time of 00:41:800 with:

Track: Suzuka Circuit – East Course
Vehicle: Koenigsegg Jesko (Category: Seasons, Class: Track Day Hypercar)

    Recommended vehicle settings:

    Gear Ratio -1
    Springs +1
    Dampers +1
    Anti-roll +1
    Brake Bias 0

Stick to the racing line and don't push the car too aggressively as this is another pretty generous lap time.
