Welcome to my Gravel Trophy Guide and Road Map. Gravel is a game by Italian developer Milestone who are known for their several racing series such as WRC, MotoGP, MXGP and RIDE. This particular game is an arcade take on rally racing having actual point to point races just like in rallying, but also head to head, smash, stadium and circuit races. Trophy wise you’re looking at an easy and relatively quick platinum. Everything can be done on the easiest difficulty settings and there’s only 2 short online trophies. I listed the online trophies as a third step in the walkthrough, but they can be done at any time. Happy trophy hunting!

Step 1 – Play through all the events

When you first start up the game you will have to input a name for your character and you’ll be thrown right into a race. You can change the difficulty settings to very easy, use as many driving assists as you like and make use of the rewind option with without limits as this won’t void any of the trophies. Be aware that driving assists do slow you down though, so the fewer you have to use the better. You will get slightly fewer Show Points (XP) per race for using easier settings and assists, but in the grand scheme of things the difference is negligible. Simply keep progressing through the career (Off-Road Masters) and make sure you win every race to obtain three stars on each. You won’t get any stars for beating the “masters” head to head special episodes, but you will need to beat all of these races to progress anyway. If you play on (very) easy it doesn’t really matter what cars you pick, but if you’re unsure simply pick the one with the highest horse power. After completing and winning all of the events (DLC not needed) you will have obtained, at the very least, these trophies:

  • Top of the class
  • Winner!
  • Survivor
  • The fans are warming up
  • In front of everyone
  • Just a warning shot
  • The real boss
  • Promoted!
  • Qualified
  • The Graduate!
  • 40 wheels for me
  • Garage nearly full
  • All in!
  • Globetrotter
  • Always in the lead
  • Showman
  • The new Off-Road Master
  • Passport control
  • Full marks

Step 2 - Miscellaneous

It’s quite possible you’ve obtained a few of these throphies in the first step, but if you didn’t then now is the time to get them out of the way. None of them are difficult, but the drifting one in particular might take a few tries. Please refer to the trophy guide below to find a description and/or video on how to obtain them all. In this step you will obtain the following trophies:

  • Like a train!
  • 3 seconds in heaven!
  • Perfect landing!
  • Reckless drifter!
  • Superfast
  • Timekeeper
  • Green wave
  • I believe I can fly

Step 3 – Online

The reason I’m not putting this step as the last one is that you'll obtain Show Points (XP) for the online races that will count towards your total level for the next step. There’s only 2 online trophies in this game, both of which are just for completing races 1 and 10 respectively. After this step you’ll have obtained these trophies:

  • Hello world!
  • Online Champion

Step 4 - Show points (XP) grind

Everything you do in this game grants Show Points, which is basically just a different name for XP in this game and is used to level up. Winning races will give you the most Show Points, but doing stunts during races like jumps, speeding and drifts does too. There’s a trophy for getting to level 50 which you will probably already obtain during your Off-Road Masters (career) playthrough, but don’t let this mislead you into thinking you’re already there. There’s a trophy for obtaining all the car liveries the game has to offer which will require you to level all the way up to 100. Luckily there’s a few quite fast and efficient ways to earn Show Points so this step shouldn’t take you more than a few hours. When you’re done with this step you’ll have obtained the following trophies:

  • Beautiful outside
  • Gravel Hero

  • Unlock all trophies

As with every other platinum trophy simply obtain all of the other trophies in the game to get this one, congratulations!

  • Finish first in a Speed Cross

For this trophy you have to win a speed cross event, which can be done both in career and in free events. A speed cross event is a lap race event with rally cars or trucks. During the playthrough of your career (Off-Road Masters) you’ll have to play through many of these events making this trophy unmissable.

  • Finish first in a Cross Country

For this trophy you have to win a cross country event, which can be done both in career and in free events. A cross country event is a point to point race with checkpoints driving rally cars or trucks. During the playthrough of your career (Off-Road Masters) you’ll have to play through many of these events making this trophy unmissable.

  • Finish first in an Elimination

For this trophy you have to win an elimination event, which can be done both in career and in free events. In an elimination event you start out with 8 cars and every 30 seconds the car in last place gets disqualified. To win this event you have to be the last man standing. During the playthrough of your career (Off-Road Masters) you’ll have to play through many of these events making this trophy unmissable.

  • Finish first in a Stadium Circuit

For this trophy you have to win a circuit event, which can be done both in career and in free events. A stadium circuit is a lap race held on a dirt track in an actual stadium as opposed to a racing track. During the playthrough of your career (Off-Road Masters) you’ll have to play through many of these events making this trophy unmissable.

  • Finish first in a Wild Rush

For this trophy you have to win a Wild Rush event, which can be done both in career and in free events. A Wild Rush event is a lap race in the countryside with rally cars or trucks. During the playthrough of your career (Off-Road Masters) you’ll have to play through many of these events making this trophy unmissable.

  • Complete a special episode

Special episodes are the ‘boss fights’ in this game which pit you head to head against race masters in their respective disciplines. There’s a total of 5 masters you’ll have to beat during your career. You will have to beat them in order because the game won’t let you progress if you don’t beat them. This trophy will pop after beating the first master, Scott Parker (Stadium Circuit Master).

  • Complete all the special episodes

Special episodes are the ‘boss fights’ in this game which pit you head to head against race masters in their respective disciplines. There’s a total of 5 masters you’ll have to beat during your career but this trophy will pop after beating only 4, being Scott Parker (Stadium Circuit Master), James Watanabe (Speed Cross Master), Ryan Carter (Wild Rush Master) and Justin Evans (Cross Country Master). You will have to beat all of these masters in order because the game won’t let you progress if you don’t beat them one by one.

  • Reach Level 10

    See The Graduate! trophy.

  • Reach Level 25

    See The Graduate! trophy.

  • Reach Level 50

To reach level 50 you will have to earn XP in the form of Show Points. Everything you do in this game grants Show Points. Winning races will give you the most Show Points, but doing stunts during races like jumps, speeding and drifting does too. You’ll obtain enough Show Points to get this trophy during your career making this trophy unmissable.

  • Maintain "High Speed" for 40 consecutive seconds

The game will grant you a ‘High Speed’ bonus as soon as you drive faster than 110 miles an hour (177 km/h). Once you do you’ll see a notification on top of your screen saying ‘High Speed” and the Show Points you’re earning for it. For this trophy to pop you’ll need to maintain your speed and keep that notification on your screen. Even a small take off or jump will break your chain though so you’ll need to find a flat course and avoid bumps as much as possible. There’s a few locations where this can be done, but the easiest one is the ‘Through the Caves’ track in Alaska. Make sure you have the High Speed notification on screen when entering the second cave and maintain your speed until the finish. There’s only one tricky bend to the right towards the end, make sure to turn in early as to take this bend not too sharply. Please refer to the video below for visual aid.

  • Unlock 10 new vehicles from the basic game

    See the All in! trophy.

  • Unlock 20 new vehicles from the basic game

    See the All in! trophy.

  • Unlock all the vehicles in the basic game

You’ll obtain new vehicles simply by levelling up and beating the special episode masters. Levelling up is done by obtaining Show Points through races. You will get your last car when beating the final master Sean Walker (Off-Road Master), which will be the last step in your career playthrough.

  • Perform a jump which lasts at least 3 seconds

There are many big jumps in the game at which you can obtain this trophy and this will undoubtedly be one of the first trophies you’ll obtain without even trying. If for some reason you didn’t get this, select ‘Free Race’ and pick the figure 8 track on the Mont Blanc. Right after the first bend you’ll get a big ramp which gives you plenty of airtime.

  • Perform at least 3 perfect landings

For the game to award you a perfect landing you have to meet 2 criteria; the jump has to be high enough and the landing should be perfectly straight on all four wheels. Other than the trophy description implies this has to be done in a single race and there aren’t a lot of tracks that have 3 jumps that are high enough to obtain this. Nonetheless you will probably get this trophy without going out of your way for it during your career. If for whatever reason you didn’t get this by the end of it, select a Free Race or Time Trial from the main menu and pick the figure 8 track on the Mont Blanc. Right after the first bend you’ll get a big ramp which is high enough to get a perfect landing. Now complete 3 laps or however many needed to get your 3 perfect landings and the trophy should pop.

  • Unlock all of the liveries in the basic game

This trophy is the real time killer of the game because to unlock all the different car liveries you’ll need to get to level 100. Levelling up is done by earning Show Points in races by getting good results and doing stunts like speeding, jumping and drifting. After doing the career mode and the online trophies you’ll likely be somewhere between level 50 and 60 depending on the difficulty you’ve raced on and the assists you’ve used. The fastest way to level up after all this is by going back to the career mode (Off-Road Masters) and go to the American Tour events. Pick the last championship event consisting of a lap race, an elimination event and a checkpoint race. Completing this championship takes about 10 minutes and on top of your regular Show Points per race you’ll get a nice championship bonus of 300,000 Show Points, netting you about 650,000 per championship run. This method should take you from level 60 to level 100 in less than three hours.

  • Complete an online race

    See the Online Champion trophy.

  • Complete 10 online races

Exactly like the trophy description states you simply have to complete 10 races. It doesn’t matter whether you win or lose. The game doesn’t have an overly crowded online fanbase so if you want to find a boosting partner please make use of the dedicated boosting thread found HERE.

  • Complete a race in every different location of the basic game

You will race an event in every different location the game has to offer in the career mode (Off-Road Masters) so this trophy is unmissable. There isn't even another way to obtain this trophy because you won’t unlock the tracks in free racing and time trials until you’ve completed them in career mode first.

  • Sustain a drift for at least 7 seconds

Probably the hardest trophy in the game, but still very doable within a few tries if you know what you’re doing. For the drift to count you’ll need a notification on top of your screen granting you Show Points for drifting. Even though the points remain and can be picked up again if you stop drifting for a second, for this trophy to pop you’ll have to maintain the same drift continuously for 7 seconds. This can be done on any wide and large bend, but is easiest done on the figure 8 track in Mont Blanc. Approach the first bend of the lap at the highest possible speed and turn in and brake early to start drifting before entering the corner. Try to keep your car as wide as possible by countersteering without bumping into the side of the track. When done right you should get to 7 seconds before the end of the turn without too much trouble. If needed you can prolong your drift by doing a small donut towards the end. Pick whatever car you’re comfortable with, personally I chose the Subaru Impreza 2015. Please refer to the video below for visual aid.

  • Reach 142 mph (230 km/h)

Self explanatory and basically unmissable. There are many cars and tracks giving you the opportunity to go this fast and this will likely be one of the first trophies you’ll obtain without trying for it. If you do have trouble getting this go to ‘Free Race’ and select the ‘Through the Caves’ track. Pick the Subaru Impreza 2015 car and you should get this trophy towards the end of the track while going downhill through the caves.

  • Finish first in a Head to Head race

For this trophy you have to win a head to head event, which will only occur in the special episodes. Special episodes are the ‘boss fights’ in this game which pit you head to head against race masters in their respective disciplines. This trophy will pop after beating the first race against the first master, Scott Parker (Stadium Circuit Master).

  • Obtain all the stars in the Off-Road Masters Career mode in the basic game

Every event grants you a number of stars based on your results. The maximum amount of stars you can get are 3, for which you’ll always need to win the event. Therefore to obtain this trophy your assignment is simple, win every race the career has to offer. Special Episodes don’t grant any stars so you don’t have to beat those for this particular trophy, but you'll need to beat those to progress your career anyway.

  • Become the new Off-Road Master

This trophy will pop after beating the fifth and final special episode. You will have to drive and win 4 different events before facing Sean Walker (Off-Road Master). Beat him head to head in the fifth event and this trophy is yours.

  • Unlock all the Tracks in the basic game

You unlock tracks in this game by racing on them in the career mode. You don’t just have to unlock the track location itself, but every version of the track as well. The last track you’ll unlock and thus grants you this trophy is the track in the Iron Mines you race on against the last master, Sean Walker.

  • Obtain a time in Time Attack mode

Simply go to ‘Time Attack’ mode in the main menu, select a track and car and start driving. The only requirement is to drive a full lap, no matter your speed, then quit out to the menu again and the trophy should pop.

  • Complete a Smash-Up race, hitting only green signs

A Smash-Up race is a race event with signs on the track that randomly show green arrows or red crosses. During the playthrough of your career (Off-Road Masters) you’ll have to play through many of these events so chances are that you’ll get this without going out of your way for it. If you didn’t get this during your career however, just retry one of these events and take it as slow as you need to. Remember the trophy only requires you to complete the race while hitting only green signs, so you don’t have to actually be fast and win it.

  • Obtain 3 stars in a Career event

    See the Showman trophy.

  • Complete any track with a total of 6 seconds flying

You will most probably get this trophy without going out of your way for it during your career. If for some reason you didn’t get this, select ‘Free Race’ and pick the figure 8 track on the Mont Blanc. Right after the first bend you’ll get a big ramp which is high enough to get a lot of airtime. Complete 3 laps or however many needed to get enough airtime and the trophy should pop.
