Ascendant Trophy in Godfall

Reach trial 20 in the Ascended Tower of Trials

    How to unlock Ascendant

Note: As of the 2.4.54 patch, this trophy unlocks properly for everyone.

Originally you had to reach Trial 50 (out of 100) on this tower but the Primal update changed some stuff in the tower and you now only need to reach Trial 20 (out of 30). The Ascended Tower of Trials is accessible through the Air realm menu and costs 20 Coins of Valor (the normal Tower of Trials is accessible through the Water realm and only costs 5 but you can't get Ascendant in this one). You get Coins of Valor by finishing some Dreamstones so if you need more of them, check the rewards and farm the Dreamstones that give these coins. You have a sneak peak of this tower during the story, when accessing new realms. You start in an elevator and when activating it it'll spawn enemies and you'll have to kill all of them. Then you'll have to enter a room and kill all enemies in that room, you'll have to do this in every floor. Every room after the elevator sections will be colored in Green/Blue/Purple/Yellow, from easier to harder. Sometimes you'll get weapons/accessories/augments and sometimes you'll get boons. I recommend picking up the easier rooms when it's weapons and the harder rooms when it's boons (at least for the first set of trials) as some boons can be really helpful and make things way easier. After every 3 rooms, you'll have to choose a bane, which will make things harder so it's on you to pick the bane that will disadvantage your playstyle less than the others. Also after a while, some rooms will have temporary banes such as not being able to use lifestones, archon fury or banners but this is totally random.

As I said in the roadmap, you shouldn't try this tower until you're at level 50 and get a good build  with upgraded stuf that you're confortable with. The enemies will be at level 50 on Trial 1 and will take 2 levels in each of the next floors, until they have a red skull icon above them which means they're really powerful. Also you'll face against every type of enemies randomly so you need to make sure you know how to deal with all of them. A good way to know if you're ready to attempt this is to play the level 56-58 Dreamstones, if you can beat them then you have a chance during the tower, if not I recommend working on your weak points or your build to improve yourself. There are a lot of different weapons, accessories and augments in the game which means there is an infinite of combinations that might suit different players with different playstyles. I personally opted for this build:

Valorplate: Hinterclaw (more Critical Hit chances, also increase this during Archon Fury)
Main weapon: Winter's Call (reveal weak points and do a shockwave when soulshattering enemies) < I highly recommend using a polearm as it can deal zone damages and is way faster than the warhammer.
Amulet: Mark of the Duelist (restores health when doing critical hit)
Charm: Ash Meteorite (shoot a ptojectile when hitting a weak point)
Rings: Zwei's Embrace (get overhealth when hitting weak points) + Adamantite Band (Get faster charge for Weapon Techniques and deal more damage with the next one when parrying)
Life Stone: Archon's Tear (increase greatly critical hit chance and damage)
Banner: Standard of the Golden Lion (faster charge for Weapon Techniques, Shield and Archon Fury)

    Augments:

    - Surety (expose weak points and deal more damage when doing Northern Technique)
    - Karmic Soul (restore a life stone whenever using the banner)
    - Focus (get overhealth when doing critical hits)
    - Loyalty (faster Archon Fury charge when hitting weak points)

All of this while focusing on weakpoint damage and critical hit chances/damage when upgrading the items.

With that stuff I have the Weapon Technique that charges pretty fast and when I use the Northern one it reveals the enemies weak points but when hitting them I get overhealth and a faster charge for more Weapon Techniques and Archon Fury so when everything goes right, I can clear an area without taking damage. If I start taking damage I use my lifestone and the banner to get an extra one. Also whenever I finish a room, I use my banner to refill my lifestones, Archon Fury, Weapon Techniques and overhealth. During my succesful attempt, I got the boon that stuns/blinds enemies around when hitting weak points so I didn't get overwhelmed and was pretty safe at all time.

This is only an idea of a build, I wasn't particularly OP and there might be a lot of better builds but it's up to you to choose your favorite one. The most important thing is to focus towards the same thing (like Critical Hits) instead of putting a lot of different stuff that won't work together.
