Welcome to Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions! This is the third installment in the Geometry Wars series by Lucid Games and Sierra Games. It’s a twin-stick shooter that pits you against the meanest shapes the world has ever known across 100 levels of intense gameplay. Geo Wars 3 is a fun but challenging game so those who enjoy a challenge will enjoy this title.

Step 1: Complete Adventure Mode/Upgrading Your Arsenal

For this step, I advise that you completely play through the Adventure Mode so that you get a feel for the game and unlock everything needed later for other trophies. While playing through Adventure, try to collect as many "Geoms" as possible so that you can upgrade your drones and supers along the way. You might not have everything unlocked yet due to star count restrictions but upgrade what you can for now.

Also, try to 3-star as many levels as you can but don’t halt progress to 3-star every single level. That will come later. During this step, you will unlock:

Specialist
First Step
Keen Adventurer
Millionaire
Multi Millionaire
Geomtastic
Kill Them All
Powered Up

Step 2: 3-Star Run/Level Challenges/Finish Upgrading

For this step, your drones and supers should have some upgrading done to them so now it’s time to get started on getting 3 stars in every Adventure level. Along the way, you’ll also want to go for the level-specific trophies and finish upgrading all of your drones and supers. During this step, you should unlock:

Maximise
Geometry Warrior
Beat Craig
Beat Col
Beat Phil
Rocket Destroyer
Bossman
Sharp Shooter
Peacekeeper
Bullet Proof

Step 3: Misc. Trophies

For this step, you’re going to tackle all of the random trophies before getting on to the part of the game where most of your time will be spent. During this step, you will unlock:

Boom
Dying Time

Step 4: Classic Mode/Bonus Level

For this step, you’ll want to head over to "Classic Mode" in order to attempt all of the Classic-tied trophies. Also, take some time to stop by the bonus levels for the credits trophy. During this step, you’ll unlock:

Deadliest
Retro

Survivalist
Stationary
Beat Andy
King Killer
Cleaning Up

Step 5: Co-op Mode

Hopefully you have a friend or relative ready! If not, you can always use a rubber band. For this step, you’re going to play through the co-op campaign so that you can get those pesky co-op trophies. Make sure that you 3-star every level along the way. During this step, you’ll unlock:

Best Friends
BFF

Step 6: Getting Your Grind On

This is where you take your handy-dandy device (or whatever you have) to hold down that  button because you’re in for a long grind. Assuming you’ve followed the Roadmap to this point, during this final step, you’ll unlock:

Gatherer
Platinum

31 trophies ( 17  9  )

  • Geometry Wars³ Dimensions Platinum Trophy

You are a master of Geometry Wars! This trophy will unlock after you have completed the other trophies in the game.
  • Upgrade any Drone to its maximum level

    See Maximise for trophy details.
  • Upgrade all 5 Drones to their maximum level

Drones are mini-ships, with different offensive/defensive abilities, that follow your ship around. You will unlock the ability to use drones once you have reached the first boss (Level 5) of Adventure Mode.

There are 5 drones available in the game and you will unlock a new drone after defeating a boss (up to Level 40) in Adventure Mode. The five drones are: Attack, Collect, Ram, Sweep and Snipe. Upgrading each of these will cost about 13,000 Geoms to upgrade to the max level. The trophy will unlock after you’ve fully upgraded your last drone.
  • Boom

Kill 100 enemies with a single Smart Bomb

Smart Bombs are activated using the  or  and this ability eliminates all enemies within its range. This trophy will most likely unlock naturally along the course of the Adventure Mode, as the amount of on-screen enemies will increase each level and situations get more intense, but if you want the trophy right away, you can play "Evolved Classic Mode" in the Classic Mode menu and activate a Smart Bomb when you reach the wave with the small orange dots attacking. The trophy will unlock shortly after destroying 100 enemies with the one Smart Bomb.
  • Earn 3 Stars on any level in Adventure Mode

See Geometry Warrior for trophy details.
  • Earn 3 Stars on all 50 levels of Adventure Mode

In order to get 3 stars in a level, you must satisfy the highest score requirement given. You will want to attempt this after completing the Adventure Mode since all drones and most supers will be unlocked, plus you’ll most likely have them upgraded decently.

There’s no solid method of getting 3-stars since Geometry Wars is a "Skill-based" game, but the best drone and super choices I had for each game type are as follows:

    Drones:
Attack: Evolved, Deadline, King, Titan, Boss, Checkpoint, Rainbow, Claustrophobic
    Collect: Pacifism, Deadline, Boss
    Ram: None
    Sweep: None
    Snipe: Checkpoint, Rainbow

    Super:
Turret: Every game type. This is the only super that’s extremely beneficial to have.

NOTE: On the boss battles, you will gain 1,000,000 extra points for defeating the boss so keep that in mind while grinding scores during them.

The trophy will unlock once you have obtained 3 stars for every Adventure level.
  • Beat the Topaz boss in Adventure Mode

Topaz is the final boss (Level 50) in Adventure Mode. Topaz takes a lot longer to beat than any other boss, but it won’t have attacks that you haven’t seen already. The best drone to bring into this battle is the Attack Drone and the best super is Turret.

Simply survive all of Topaz’s attacks and once it’s defeated, the trophy will unlock at the Results screen.
  • Score at least 1 million points on any level in Adventure Mode

See Multi Millionaire for trophy details.
  • Score at least 100 million points on any level in Adventure Mode

Achieving 100 million points sounds like a tough task to achieve, but it’s definitely doable. The best level to achieve this feat on is Level 49, since you will have to reach 250 million in order to obtain 3 stars in it, so this trophy also ties into Geometry Warrior.

The trophy will unlock after you’ve achieve 100 million points and reached the Results screen.
  • Earn a multiplier of at least 1000 on any level in Adventure Mode

In order to increase your multiplier, you must collect Geoms dropped by defeated enemies. These Geoms vary on size and value, the biggest one being worth x30. You’ll most likely unlock this trophy without trying, as reaching a x1000+ multiplier almost becomes a standard for the later levels if you’re trying to earn the Geometry Warrior trophy.

This trophy will unlock once you’ve reached a x1000 multiplier and reached the Results screen.
  • Kill every enemy type at least once

You will unlock this trophy naturally while progressing through Adventure Mode. You can kill every enemy in the game, except for the Round Spawner, the Blue Mine Dispenser, the Red Cube and the Red Wall. This trophy will unlock after you’ve killed the last enemy needed.

For the list of enemies, please see Dying Time.
  • Be killed by every enemy type at least once

There are 26 enemies in Geometry Wars 3 and it’s more than likely that you might not be killed by all of the enemies if you’re decent at that game. In order to unlock this trophy, you must die by every enemy at least once (or a couple times to be sure).

The enemies are (from top left to bottom right):
Group 1: Purple Pinwheel, Pink Square Duo, Blue Rhombus, Whitish-Blue Disk
Green Chaser, Pink Splitter, Yellow Cross, Rocket

Group 2: Orange Dot, Snake, Rhino, Reddish-Pink Bonus Disk
Black Hole, Black Hole Spawn, Boss, Red Gate

Group 3: Yellow Gate, Painter, Big Spawner, Expanding Virus
Virus Bits, Yellow Disk, Blue Mine Dispenser, Super State Dots.

Group 4: Red Cube, Red Wall

    These names are not official!!!
Once you’ve died by the hands of every enemy, the trophy will unlock.
  • Activate each Super State at least once

"Super states" are the clusters of colored, stationary dots that appear in the center of levels. Once you destroy every dot in the cluster, you are rewarded with a limited, special type of weapon. There are seven super states in the game: Quad Fire, Magnet, Missile, Split Fire, Trail Bomb, Reverse Fire and Shield. This trophy will unlock naturally through the Adventure Mode and the trophy will unlock once you’ve used all seven states.
  • Beat the Garnet boss in Co-op Mode

    (1)
Garnet is the boss at the end of Co-op Mode. Garnet functions like Topaz, the final boss in Adventure so if you’ve beaten Adventure, this shouldn’t be very difficult to complete. Simply "beat" it to unlock this trophy.
  • BFF

Achieve 3 Stars on all 10 levels in Co-op Mode

Achieve 3 stars for Co-op Mode can be a pain, especially if you’re playing on Vita. The best option, if you’re on PS4, is to use the Co-op Partners Thread to find someone to help you. To do this though, you need to utilize the Share Play feature since the game only has local co-op.

You cannot use Share play on the Vita so the best option for Vita is to find a friend or relative to play with you locally.

If both options aren’t ideal, you can do the following:

PS3/PS4 - Connect a second controller, put a rubber band (or something similar) around the  to make the second ship shoot downwards and place the second ship at the top of the map. This method allows the second ship to at least shoot some enemies and gather some points for you. You can also use its fire to evade enemies in case you’re in a pinch.

Vita - Place a rubber band around the  to make the red ship (left side of the vita) shoot to the right (while holding Vita normally) and place it at the far left of the map. Take control of the yellow ship. Just like the PS4 method, this method allows the second ship to at least shoot some enemies and gather some points for you. You can also use its fire to evade enemies in case you’re in a pinch.

Playing the Co-Op solo is much more difficult to do but using the rubber band method makes it doable. The trophy will unlock after you’ve gotten 3 stars on your final level.
  • Collect 1 million Geoms in Adventure Mode

It’s best to attempt this trophy after earning all of the other trophies in the game. This is because it's the biggest grind and the main reason why this game takes the amount of time it does to platinum. This trophy requires you to collect 1 million Geoms over the course of time in Adventure Mode, Ultimate Mode or Hardcore Mode.

After you’ve earned every trophy in the game, you will most likely have collected between 50,000 - 125,000 Geoms. This means that you will have to still "grind out" about 800,000+ more Geoms in order to meet the trophy requirement.

The best level for collecting Geoms is Level 49 in Adventure Mode. Manually playing the level could net you up to 2,000 Geoms on average per level play but that’s not ideal nor does it sound fun.

User sshirogumi has found a way to grind this out overnight by selecting the Sweep Drone (super does not matter) and using something to hold down the  button. A fully upgraded Sweep drone will destroy a lot of enemies automatically, netting you 1,300+ Geoms per level play and holding down the  button auto-restarts the level after you’ve died so the level plays on an automatic loop.

You can find more about ways to complete this method in this thread:

  • Beat the Developer high score of 11,261,635 on Peanut Dreams

Peanut Dreams is Level 11 in Adventure Mode. The game type is Deadline and the obstacle for this level is the way it is shaped. The layout of the level can prove to be awkward for some but that’s the only downfall. You can die on this level but it’s advised that you try not to in order to avoid wasting time while respawning.

You’ll want either the Attack or Collect drone with the Turret super. Simply kill all enemies while collecting as many Geoms as you can and this trophy will be yours once you’ve passed the target score of 11,261,635 points and reached the Results screen.
  • Beat the Developer high score of 4,769,150 on Gate Dash

Gate Dash is Level 12 in Adventure Mode. The game type is Deadline and you will have a minute to reach the target score of 4,769,150 points. There are no enemies on this level besides gates, so this kind of feels like a timed Pacifism event but less dangerous.

You will want to bring the Collect Drone with you and in order to reach the developer score, you will want to make quick turns and fast twitch skills to hit the gates as fast as you can. Later in the level, yellow gates (worth more Geoms and points) will start to appear. Don’t disregard the red gates for the yellow ones. Try to hit as many red gates as you can on your way to the yellow gates so that you don’t waste time not collecting any Geoms.

With a bit of practice, this trophy should be a breeze and it will unlock once the Results screen appears.
  • Beat the Developer high score of 21,478,525 on Nufo Flow

Nufo Flow is Level 24 in Adventure Mode. The game type is Pacifism so you cannot shoot, and the only drone that you can use is Collect. This Pacifism is different though; you will not be using gates to kill enemies this time. You will be using the small blue mines drop by the blue mine generators floating around the map.

When attempting to earn this trophy, you will want to focus on trying to destroy swift, pink disks that attack your position, as they give you a large amount of Geoms for your multiplier. The best thing to do is to let the mines pile up a bit so that the blast radius from the explosions are much larger to hit more enemies.

The trophy will unlock when you’ve reached the Results screen.

Here’s a video to show how the trophy is done, in case you are having trouble:

  • Destroy 10,000 Rocket enemies in total

Rockets are the quick, orange arrows that travel back and forth in a straight line and leave a trail behind them. 10,000 sounds like a lot but you’ll most likely unlock this trophy while attempting to 3 star every level so there is no need to grind this out.

There is no way to track how many you’ve killed so keep fighting them until the trophy unlocks.
  • Complete Deadline Classic without losing a life

Deadline Classic is located in the Classic Mode menu. Deadline is a game mode where you will have a certain time limit to destroy as many enemies as possible. However, this time around we are less focusing on killing the highest number of enemies and more focused on avoiding them.

You’ll get 3 minutes to survive and what you’ll want to do is avoid colliding into enemies, avoid shooting them unless you have to and use your bombs when needed.

Once you’ve reached the time limit without dying, the trophy will unlock at the Results screen.

  • Defeat any boss in Adventure Mode without using a Drone Super or a Smart Bomb

In order to earn this trophy, you will want to fight the first boss in Level 5 of Adventure Mode. Simply defeat the boss without using / for your drone super or / for your Smart Bomb. After you’ve defeated the boss, the trophy will unlock at the Results screen.
  • Score over 10 million on Evolved Classic Level before losing a life

This is the hardest trophy in the game.

Evolved Classic is located in the Classic Mode menu. You must reach 10 million points without losing a life. This trophy is highly dependent on the player’s skill and requires you to have extreme reflexes and a bit of luck. You have no drone to help and the level constantly throws enemies at you, every wave increasing in difficulty and enemy quantity.

I cannot stress enough that the biggest factors for to obtaining this trophy is having online access to the Leaderboards and knowing when to use your Smart Bombs. Without online Leaderboard access, the trophy will not unlock for reasons unknown. As for the bombs, you start out with 3 bombs, get a 4th at 100,000 points and a 5th at 1 million points. You must also know when to use a bomb and when not to because you might be able to escape some situations that you think you need a bomb but when you need it most, you might not have anymore left when it matters most.

This trophy will unlock shortly after you go over 10 million but stay alive for a while because the trophy might not register right away.
  • Score over 500,000 on Twisted Blister without moving

You probably don’t want to attempt to earn this trophy until you’ve upgraded your drones sufficiently. Twisted Blister is Level 3 in Adventure Mode. This trophy is similar to Stationary and this requires you to stay in one place while attempting to reach the target score. When the round starts, your finger shouldn’t even be touching the  when the round starts. Use one thumb to control the  to shoot the enemies.

Some drones that could help you to do this are Attack, Snipe or Sweep. Once you’ve reached the target score, the trophy will unlock at the Results screen.
  • Survive for 30 seconds on Pacifism Classic without going through a gate

In order to earn this trophy, you must avoid going through the gates and getting killed by enemies. Good reflexes and quick judgment is needed. Simply weave around and through enemies while avoid gates and after 30 seconds the trophy is yours once you’ve reached the Results screen.
  • Survive for 60 seconds on Deflector without shooting and pass the level

Deflector is Level 45 in Adventure Mode. This trophy can be quite difficult if you’re not properly prepared for it. The drones that you want to use are Sweep or Ram and it is preferred that they be fully upgraded before attempting. Simply avoid the white disks and let your drone protect you until you’ve hit a full minute without shooting and the trophy is yours once you reach the Results screen.

Here’s a video to show how the trophy is done, in case you are having trouble:
Credit to YouTuber Maka91Productions for the video.
  • Score over 500,000 points on Waves Classic without moving

Waves Classic is located in the Classic Mode menu. In order to earn this trophy, your finger shouldn’t even be touching the  when the round starts. Use one thumb to control the  to shoot the enemies. You will also have no bombs available, to make things worse, so you must rely on your skill.

The best piece of advice would be to make sure that you kill enemies when they’re in decent proximity of your ship so you can collect some of the Geoms that drift away when enemies are killed, and boost your multiplier. Just survive until you hit 500,000 points without moving and the trophy is yours once you’ve reached the Results screen.
  • Score over 2 million on Maze without dying

You probably don’t want to attempt on earning this trophy until you’ve upgraded your drones sufficiently. Maze is Level 7 in Adventure Mode. The game mode is Checkpoint, and you cannot lose a life before hitting 2 million. The biggest obstacle that you will encounter while attempting this trophy is the level layout because you have to zigzag around walls to defeat enemies.

The best drones for this level are Attack or Collect, and the best supers are Turret and Miner. The key to achieving this feat is speed. You will also want to be able to weave around the walls swiftly and take out enemies as fast as possible.

Once you have reached the target score without losing a life or running out of time, the trophy will unlock shortly after at the Results screen.

Here’s a video to show how the trophy is done, in case you are having trouble:
Credit to YouTuber Maka91Productions for the video.
  • Beat the Developer high score of 21,468,350 on Pacifism Classic

Pacifism Classic is located in the Classic Mode menu. In Pacifism, you cannot shoot so the only method of defeating enemies is to have them destroyed by the blast that comes from the gates when you pass through them.

Getting your multiplier up is the key to earning this trophy, so try to group as many enemies as possible near a gate before going through so that you can collect larger amounts of Geoms.

This trophy will unlock soon after you’ve reached the target score for this trophy.
  • Spend 60 seconds outside of the safety King Zones in King Classic

King Classic is located in the Classic Mode menu. The thing that throws off a lot of people about this trophy is that they think that you must spend 60 consecutive seconds outside of the King zones in order to achieve this. This is false.

In order to obtain this trophy, you will need to spend 60 accumulative seconds outside of the King zones in one session. This means that you can roam outside of the zones for a while and re-enter the zones to destroy enemies if needed. As long as you can hit a full minute of outside time, this trophy will unlock once you’ve reached the Results screen.

Here’s a video to show how the trophy is done, in case you are having trouble:
Credit to YouTuber Maka91Productions for the video.
  • Destroy the cleaner

You must beat Adventure Mode to attempt this trophy. What you want to do is play the bonus level called “The List”. “The List” is a level that consists of super state dots that form the names of the people who created the game, thus making this a credits level.

You must stay alive and watch for the name “Mary Roddy” to scroll into the playing field and when it does, you want to destroy the entire name before it disappears. Once that is done, you can die and the trophy will unlock at the Results screen.
