Walkthrough

Step 0 - Save exploit.

Thanks to the ability to save at any time during the game and there is a way to exploit this in your advantage because when you hit "save & quit", the game returns you to the main menu. Now close the game and backup your save to the PS+ Cloud or USB. This way you have unlimited tries at whichever trophy you are going for. This is especially useful when going for the Stage Perfect trophies.

Step 0.5 - "No enemy fire" bug.

There is a bug that makes the enemies unable to fire there missiles. To use it, go to game settings and choose old version then follow the steps below (courtesy of joco):

For those that want to know, on stage 2 you want kill every enemy except the last 2 Bee's on the left of the screen. Let them bomb you for about 10 minutes, eventually they will stop shooting, hiding in the far right of the screen kept me safe from harm. Let them drop without shooting a few more times then kill them. No enemies will shoot at you for the rest of the game.

This exploit will be useful for anyone that may be having problems completing the game.

Step 1 - Play though the game until you reach Round 31.

To make this easier, go to settings, then game settings and enable stage select and pick 5 extra lives to make these trophies much simpler. Now you can start at any stage you previously reached with 5 extra lives.

Trophies unlocked during this step:

  • Dragonfly
  • Scorpion
  • Mosquito
  • Stingray
  • Galboss
  • Blue Spaceship
  • Stage 10 Reached
  • Stage 20 Reached
  • Stage 30 Reached

Step 2 - Stage Perfect.

Time to get a Perfect Bonus on the challenge levels 11 - 31. This is the tricky part and I highly suggest you use the Save exploit during this step. Also make sure to have a Dual Fighter when attempting theses trophies. To get a Dual Fighter on the challenge stages you need to load up the previous level and finish it with a Dual Fighter.

Trophies unlocked during this step:

  • Stage 11 Perfect
  • Stage 15 Perfect
  • Stage 19 Perfect
  • Stage 23 Perfect
  • Stage 27 Perfect
  • Stage 31 Perfect
  • Single Perfect

Step 3 - Clean up.

Still missing a trophy such as Escape Artist or Ace Pilot? Well, now it's time to get them.

Trophies unlocked during this step:

  • Dual Fighter
  • Enemy Fighter
  • Escape Artist
  • Ace Pilot

The Dragonfly is a type of enemy that appears on stage 11 and onwards. Simply shoot it for the trophy.

The Mosquito is a type of enemy that appears on stage 19 and onwards. Simply shoot it for the trophy.

  • Find the Stingray that appears in battle!

The Stingray is a type of enemy that appears on stage 8 and onwards. Simply shoot it for the trophy.

  • Find the Galboss that appears in battle!

The Blue Spaceship is a type of enemy that appears on stage 31 and onwards. Simply shoot it for the trophy.

  • Form a Dual Fighter!

To form a Dual Fighter, you first need to be sucked into a Boss Galaga. At that point your fighter will be taken over by the enemy, become red and placed atop of the Boss Galaga who took it. Now shoot the Boss Galaga that has your former fighter over its head and when dies, your old fighter will drop down and attach itself to the fighter you are currently operating thus forming a Dual fighter.

  • Shoot down a red captured Fighter!

This one is similar to Dual Fighter, only this time you need to shoot or crash into the red fighter without hitting the Boss Galaga.

  • Escape from a Boss Galaga's tractor beam!

When a Boss Galaga starts to suck you in (fighter spins) you need to hit it before it captures you. Remember to hit it once before going into the tractor beam otherwise it won't die.

  • Get a 70% or higher hit rate on Stage 10 or above!

Load up any stage 10 or above, take 1 shot that hits an enemy then let yourself die and the trophy will pop at game over screen.

Thanks to Tiberius for the tip.

  • Get a Perfect Bonus on the Stage 11 Challenging Stage!

To get the "Perfect Bonus" you must hit all enemies on the challenge stage. This is tricky and I strongly advice to utilize the Save Exploit when going for this and the other Perfect trophies. Save after every wave completed and back up the data. This will reduce the frustration. Further on, you want to have a Dual Fighter on all challenge stages except 15 (see Stage 15 Perfect for why not). To get a Dual Fighter you need to load up the previous level and finish it with a Dual Fighter.
