Introduction:

FIFA 23 is the latest (and last!) of EA’s longrunning series of football games, and it brings with it a trophy list that requires you to participate in almost all of the modes that it offers, even if you don’t want to! It’s also incredibly similar to the trophy list for FIFA 22, so if you’ve tackled last year’s entry, you won’t find too many surprises here. Settle in though - this won’t be a quick one.

Walkthrough:

The trophies for FIFA 23 are split up across its main modes - VOLTA Football, Pro Clubs, FIFA Ultimate Team, and Career Mode - with a few that can be unlocked during gameplay in any mode. You can do these in pretty much any order, so let’s just break them down into their requisite categories.

40 trophies ( 12  24  )

  • Unlock all other trophies (excluding additional content trophies)

Classic Plat. Unlock the rest, get the best.
  • Reach 90 OVR with your Avatar in VOLTA FOOTBALL

In Volta Football, your Avatar starts at a rating of 81, and you’ll need to build it up by investing skill points in certain stats. You’ll get more skill points as you play, so just keep throwing them into your stats until you reach a 90 overall.
  • Win a VOLTA SQUADS match with 3 friends

Volta Squads is one of the main modes in FIFA 23’s VOLTA mode, which can be accessed from the Pro Clubs X Volta Football menu option. If you can’t see the Volta Squads option, but can see Volta Arcade or Volta Battles, simply hit triangle to change the mode.

Before you start Volta Squads, you’ll want to invite in three friends by hitting R2 in the Volta menu, and then it’s a simple case of going online and winning a match. It might take a bit of time, but there’s really nothing more to it.
  • Change an item in the "Outfits" tab

In VOLTA, head to the “Customise” tab, and then choose Change Outfit. You should have a few outfits to choose from right off the bat, and it’s a simple case of picking something new and hitting the options button to save it. A nice quick and easy trophy.
  • Unlock 50 different vanity items

You’ll need to earn enough cash through playing VOLTA and levelling up to purchase fifty different vanity items - this is no mean feat. You’ll also unlock some items through the Seasonal Progression, but the majority of the vanity items you’ll have to purchase using VOLTA Coins.

As per last year, you can speed through levelling up by playing Volta Battles against Legendary AI, choosing to play as a team, and then scoring five own goals quickly. However, even then, it’ll take you a long time to progress through the levels, now that progression has been reworked. There’s no real easy way to do this - you’ll just need to play plenty of Pro Clubs and VOLTA to earn VOLTA coins, and unlock as much as you can. Easily one of the most tedious trophies here, unless VOLTA and Pro Clubs are your main modes.
  • Purchase an item in the VOLTA Shop

You’ll need to play a fair few games to earn enough money to buy something from the VOLTA shop, with the cheapest items coming in at around 25,000 VOLTA Coins. You’ll have to play enough that you’ve got enough coins to buy one of these items, and once you do, the trophy is yours. To save time (and money) you’ll want to combine this with the Sharing is Caringtrophy_silver.png trophy, and make this purchase one of the Sharable Items.
  • Reach Level 7 in a Season in VOLTA FOOTBALL or Pro Clubs

Reaching level 7 in a season in VOLTA requires 20,400 SP (Seasonal Points), which are earned by playing basically any mode in either VOLTA or in Pro Clubs, now that progression has been aligned. It’ll take some time, but you’ll make it.
  • Purchase a shareable item in the VOLTA Shop

FIFA 23 has brought together Pro Clubs and VOLTA into a semi-shared experience, and because of this, there are certain items in the VOLTA shop that can be shared across both VOLTA and Pro Clubs. These can be found under the Headwear, Facial Hair, Facial Accessories, and Tattoos categories, and will have a little Pro Clubs logo in the top left hand corner. Purchase the cheapest one of these you can find using the VOLTA coins you earn by playing, and you’ll unlock this trophy, along with Shop till you drop trophy_bronze.png.
  • Score a goal from a Free Kick

There’s every chance you might nab this trophy in regular play, especially since free kicks have been improved in FIFA 23 - if you’re struggling to work out how to take a good free kick, you can go to the Practice Arena (found under Quickplay Modes) and click down on the d-pad to practise free kicks.

The easiest way to unlock this, however, is to play with a friend, either locally or online (or even by yourself with a spare controller). Simply get the opposing team to foul your player outside of the penalty area, and move the opposing wall out of the way by repeatedly pressing either of the triggers. Then get your friend to take control of the goalkeeper by clicking in the right stick, and move them way out of the way of the goal. This should let you take a pretty tame and safe free kick straight into the net - you can try multiple times during a match, and the trophy will be yours in no time.
  • Win a penalty shoot-out without missing

If you’ve not already unlocked this trophy through normal play, there’s a decent way to boost this. Ideally you’ll want to grab a second controller (or a friend) for this one. Play a Kick Off game with two controllers, one controlling each team. Set the difficulty to Amateur or Beginner, set the half length to 3 minutes, and make sure you’re controlling a much better team than the opposition.

Allow the timer to run down with the game sat at 0-0. Then go straight to penalties, and make sure to take fairly safe penalties with your players, moving the keeper out of the way with the second controller. If you’re lucky, you should accomplish this easily, especially if you manage to save your opponent’s penalties to end the shoot-out quickly.
  • Complete all Main Menu Skill Games

You’ll find the Skill Games under Play Modes, and then Quickplay Modes. As long as you don’t get an F rating in the Skill Game, that should be enough to count as complete. Plenty of the Skill Games are locked at first, but you just need to complete the currently available games to unlock the next batch. Complete them all for the trophy.
  • Score a goal using the power shot mechanic

The Power Shot is one of the new gameplay mechanics in FIFA 23, pulled off by holding L1, R1, and the Shoot button at the same time. In competitive matches, these can be tricky to pull off, as they have a long wind up time and require good accuracy when aiming. The best way to do this is either against the easiest AI difficulty, so that the opposition doesn’t close you down, or against a friend, who can move either the defenders or goalkeeper out of your way.

If you’re struggling to get a Power Shot on target, make sure you aim directly towards the middle of the goal - the aiming is more manual than for regular shots, so you’re more likely to hit it wide when aiming for the corners.
  • Play/Win a match with the competitive settings turned on during any offline mode

Ignore the win condition in the description, you only need to play a game with the Competitive Master Switch turned on to earn this trophy. Go into Kick Off mode, and then, while choosing your side, press triangle to bring up the settings. You can turn on the Competitive Master Switch here. Make sure that’s on, choose your side, and go on to play a game. Win, lose, or draw, you should unlock the trophy.
  • Complete 10 Squad Building Challenges in FIFA Ultimate Team

Squad Building Challenges can be found in FIFA Ultimate Team’s home menu. If you’ve already put a fair chunk of time into FUT and built a big collection of players, these aren’t two hard to complete, but if you’re not a FUT player, you’re going to have to play a few matches to earn some coins to purchase the correct players for these challenges.

Luckily, bronze and silver rated players are fairly cheap on the transfer market, so try to stick to the challenges that don’t require gold players. If you complete Foundations I and Foundations II, then you’ve already got eight of the ten in the bag. Then you can tackle a couple of challenges from Foundations III, or simply pick two other challenges, depending on the players you have. As long as you have around 3000 FUT Coins in the bank, you should be able to buy some cheap players on the transfer market to complete all ten challenges.
  • Build a squad with 33 Chemistry Points in FIFA Ultimate Team

Easier to do than in any previous version of FIFA, thanks to the new changes to Chemistry in Ultimate Team. The easiest way to complete this is still to have all eleven players from a single league or country, but it’s possible to get 33 chemistry with more interesting combinations. Just pick a formation, and make sure to buy the correct players for each position, otherwise you won’t get the benefit of their chemistry.

If you have a few thousand FUT Coins to spare (which you can earn by playing several FUT matches) you can just search the transfer market for English players from EFL League Two (ENG 4) in each position, and build your team that way. Grab that 33 chemistry, and reap the rewards.
  • Create your own custom tactic in FIFA Ultimate Team

Go to your Club in FUT, and then tab along to your Squad. Press L2 to bring up your Squad Actions, and choose Custom Tactics. You only need to adjust a single setting (setting Width to 51, for example) before pressing circle to back out, and saying “Yes” to saving the changes. The trophy should pop straight away.
  • Play a game using any House Rule in FUT Friendlies

From the Play tab in FIFA Ultimate Team, select Friendlies, then choose from either Couch Play, Play Online, or Play a Friend, depending on what you want. Unlike Kick Off, there’s no House Rules option, but every choice except for Classic Match should count as House Rules (Mystery Ball, King of the Hill, Swaps, etc). Play any one of these matches to get the trophy.
  • Keep 10 clean sheets in FUT Squad Battles

You’ll need to play ten Squad Battles matches in FIFA Ultimate Team without conceding a goal to unlock this trophy. Since Squad Battles are against the AI, though, you can easily set the difficulty to Beginner or Amateur here. Hold onto the ball to make sure your opponent doesn’t score, keep the clean sheet, then repeat nine more times. Don’t worry if you mess up, as it doesn’t have to be ten games in a row. Once you’ve got your tenth clean sheet, the trophy will pop.
  • Win 10 Co-Op games with online friends in FUT Squad Battles or FUT Division Rivals

Impossible to complete without either a FIFA-playing friend or someone to boost with. From the FIFA Ultimate Team menu, press R2 to bring up your friends list, and invite a friend to join you (you’ll need to add them as an EA Friend first). From there, you can play Squad Battles or Division Rivals - we’d recommend Squad Battles, since you need to win the ten games, and Squad Battles allows you to play the AI and adjust their difficulty.
  • Complete 1 FUT Moment

From the Play tab in FUT, select moments. These are relatively easy, bite-sized challenges that throw you straight into the action. Select Pitch Perfect, Foundations, and Passing #1 for one of the easiest challenges, asking you to complete ten ground passes. Make ten passes, and watch the trophy unlock.
  • Earn 100 Stars in FUT Moments

Following on from A Moment of Your Time trophy_bronze.png, this trophy requires you to complete dozens of different moments to earn the requisite number of stars. To begin with, simply make your way through the Pitch Perfect collection, which will nab you a total of 65 stars, including bonuses. The Milestones moment will earn you another 30 stars, bringing you to 95, and from there, you can choose what to complete from what remains to grab those final five stars.

Some of these moments will be frustrating or challenging, so be prepared to settle in to unlock this trophy. You can earn more stars per moment in the seasonal collections (such as Rise of Mbappe at launch) so keep an eye on these if you want to work through this trophy quicker.
  • Reach Milestone 3 in a FUT Division Rivals Season

A FUT Division Rivals Season will last for over a month, so in that time, you need to play 90 Division Rivals matches in FUT. That’s quite a lot of time to put in, but it doesn’t matter if you win, lose, or draw. If your opponent quits out, then the match should stick count towards your Milestones, but you don’t need to keep count, as FUT will do that for you. Reach Milestone 3 to unlock the trophy. Remember when FIFA 22 only required you to reach Milestone 1, and it you only had to play 20 games? Better times…
  • Earn enough FUT Champions Qualification Points to qualify for FUT Champions Play-Offs

This is another FUT trophy that’s going to require a big time investment. I hope you wanted to play a lot of Ultimate Team while getting the FIFA 23 platinum trophy!

In FUT, pick Division Rivals, and go to the Champions tab. You’ll need a certain number of points in order to enter the FUT Champions Play-Off - at the time of writing, it’s 1250 points. You get around 50 points for a Division Rivals win, and far less for a loss or a draw, so this can take a long time to build up, depending on your skill level and your opposition.

  • Play at least a match with 3 different goal songs in FIFA Ultimate Team

From the Club tab in FUT, select the Stadium option, and then Club. You’ll find the Goal Sound option here, however, it will be locked at first. To unlock it, progress through the Stadium Development objectives, followed by the Stadium Vanity objectives. Then, set a Goal Sound, and play a game. Repeat this three times, changing the Goal Sound each time, to unlock the trophy.
  • Reach 200 club appearances with a player in FIFA Ultimate Team

This is a tough one, and requires playing a lot of Ultimate Team once again. When you start Ultimate Team for the first time, you should get a pack of gold players. Pick the best player from that pack, and build the team around them. You’ll want to play this player in every game of FUT you play, making sure to always save at least one injury and contract extension card for them.

Then, play 200 matches. You should be able to forfeit games and have the player appearance still count, if you want to speed this up, but make sure to check that the player’s appearances are still ticking up in the Player Stats menu. You can change the team around that one player as much as you’d like, but keep them in the squad, even if it means bringing them on as a substitute later in the game, or subbing them off early.
  • Unlock all the traits within a skill-tree in Pro Clubs

In Pro Clubs, you can spend Skill Points on certain skill trees. Simply select the player, click into Play Style 1, and choose Attributes to find the skill trees.

To unlock this, you’ll want to grab all the traits within a single skill tree. You won’t be able to do this with your starting number of skill points, so you’ll need to play several matches until you have enough points - as per last year, we recommend reaching level seven. Luckily, with VOLTA and Pro Clubs progress now aligned, this is easier if you’ve also been completing VOLTA trophies.

Pick one of the skill trees and use your skill points to unlock everything within the skill tree. If you do this with the Pace skill tree, you’ll also unlock the Specialist trophy_bronze.pngtrophy.
  • Complete and win your first Pro Club Seasons league match

You’ll need to either join a club or create a club, with at least one other member. Once in a club, one way or another, make sure you have another player available, go to Play Match, and set it to League Match in the settings. Win a League Match game to get the trophy.
  • Play and Complete a Cup House Rules Match in Pro Clubs

Similar to First of Many trophy_bronze.png, but instead of League Match, you’ll want to set it to Cup Match.
  • Unlock an Archetype in Pro Clubs

Use your skill points in Pro Clubs to unlock an Archetype through the skill tree. See Becoming Unplayable trophy_bronze.png for more details.
  • Receive an A grade in a Pro Clubs Skill Game

Select ‘Play Skill Games’ from the Pro Clubs menu, choose a super easy one like Movement Basics, and quickly get an A grade. Trophy done!
  • Have a personality trait being over 75% dominant

Start a new Player Career in Career Mode, and quickly create your player. Over the course of this mode, you’ll be able to make several decisions, each of which displays a different personality trait. Pick one of the three - Maverick, Heartbeat, or Virtuoso - and make every decision you’re given based on one of these personalities, including how to spend your money. Don’t worry, it tells you upfront which personality type will be improved.

Technically, you can instantly get your personality trait to 100% dominant following your first choices, but this won’t unlock the trophy. At the moment, it’s unclear what the threshold is for the 75% to kick in and unlock the trophy, but just try to keep balancing these personality traits over the course of a season, and it should unlock eventually.
  • Reach 40% Personality Points in two personalities of your choice

Similarly to Dazzling Personality trophy_silver.png, you’ll need to balance your different choices and purchases in order to hit 40% personality in two of Maverick, Heartbeat, and Virutoso. Again, this is easy to do within minutes of starting a Player Career, but it won’t unlock the trophy, so trying to keep them balanced over the course of a season
  • Win a tournament with a team from the Women's League

Head to Quickplay Modes, choose Tournaments, Domestic Tournaments, and then Women’s Leagues. Pick one of the two tournaments, choose a team, and win the league! It’s as simple as that.

  • Complete 10 or more activities during a season

Easy to unlock early on in the first season of Player Career mode. You’ll earn money each week due to your wages, which you can spend as you’d like. Each purchase counts as an activity, so after ten purchases and choices, you’ll unlock the trophy.
  • Complete a season with a real manager and his original team

Go to Career Mode, choose New Career, and then select the Play as Real Manager option. Pick one of the real managers, make sure you pick their real life club, and begin the career mode.

Then, head over to the Office tab, and select Calendar. Tab all the way over to June 2023, select 30th June, and press X to “Sim To Date”. It’ll take a bit of time, but you should be able to sim the entire season, and then advance to a new one, unlocking the trophy in the process.

  • Get an "A" rating for a transfer negotiation

If you plan on playing a Manager Career mode, you’ll likely get this trophy anyway. However, there’s a nice easy way to quickly get this trophy. Start off a new Manager Career, and select a team in the EFL League 2 - Carlisle United is a good choice for this. Then, before advancing the calendar, go to Transfers and search exclusively for Free Agents. Head to the Goalkeeper tab and choose a goalkeeper with a range somewhere between 65 and 75, and make an offer for them, making sure to offer wages of no more than £3,000 a week.

Complete this, and you should immediately get an A rating for bringing in a first choice goalkeeper at no expense, on decent wages. Job done!

  • Complete 10 enhanced objectives across all matches

In Player Career mode, you’ll get three objectives before each match that you play - two normal, and one enhanced. Complete the enhanced objective in ten matches to unlock the trophy.
  • Win the UEFA Champions League Final

Can be done through a rigorous and triumphant career mode, but let’s do this the easy way. Head to Kick Off, select UEFA Champions League, then UCL Final. Whack the difficulty down low, win the game, and claim the trophy.
  • Play 5 H2H matches with a friend in Kick Off

Can be done with a friend locally, or by yourself if you have a second controller. Play five Kick Off games with one controller against the other, and you’re done. Can be sped up by choosing First To 1 in the House Rules, and quickly scoring a goal.
  • Play a women's international football match

Clearly the wording on this trophy hasn’t been updated correctly. Can be unlocked by playing any Kick Off game with Women’s Teams selected - it can be International, or you can use club teams from the English Barclays WSL or French D1 Arkema. Finish the game to get the trophy.
