Achieve 75% accuracy or above in all categories in Tutorial mode.

    How to unlock Hot Shot

During your Tutorial drive, the game will track your driving accuracy and rank you at the end. The score will be broken down into four sections: Braking, Race Line Accuracy, Apex Accuracy and Throttle Control. You will have to achieve over 75% for each one. Thankfully, you are allowed to turn on and off any assists you want. So feel free to mess around with the settings if you are having any trouble.

Braking: This is all about timing. Turn the racing line indicator on and use it as a baseline. The idea is to brake when the racing line indicator turns red. Make sure to brake in one smooth motion rather than pumping the brake multiple times. With practice, this percentage can be quickly improved.

Race Line Accuracy: Keep the racing line indicator on. This is the ideal line, the fastest and most economical way to get around the track. Try to follow it as closely as possible, and try not to run too wide. The race line is colour coded: Red obviously means break, and Green means accelerate. When the line is Yellow, do neither. Let the car run under its own momentum.

Apex Accuracy: When driving around a corner, you will move from wide to close to wide: first, wide at the entry to the corner, second, close midway through the corner, and lastly, wide as you exit the corner. The apex is an imaginary point halfway around a corner where you come closest to the inside of the corner. After passing it, you are said to be exiting the corner. In practice, follow the racing line to find all the apexes naturally. When on the inside of the corner, try to brush the tire off the inside kerbing.

Throttle Control: Like in reality, the throttle can not generally be treated as a power on/off switch. The key to throttle control is to be gradual but firm, feeling for the right moment to put the power down. With practice, a few of the corners can be taken without braking at all.

The trickiest of the categories to fulfil will be Throttle Control and Race Line Accuracy. The braking is fairly easy, and the Apex Accuracy will come with Race Line Accuracy anyway. So aim to get the Race Line and Throttle Response down pat, and work from there.
