Introduction:

In End Space you play as a contractor pilot for a large government type organization fighting against the resistance. The production values are solid and the controls are tight. This is the space combat game you were looking for even if it is on the short side, most of the 12 missions only take a few minutes to complete. As a bonus for those that are new to VR the game is broken into missions so it was designed for short bursts of action rather than extended sequences.

Controls:

There are a few different control options but I am writing this from the perspective of using the DS4 as everyone has that. The controls are fairly standard with the left stick controlling pitch, while the right stick handles throttle and yaw. You shoot your cannons with and your missiles with . You use to boost, to switch missile types, to switch cannon ammo, and to brake. While you can aim your cannons as you might normally on a non-VR game you are also able to aim them using your head which is nice especially since the missiles effectively require you to aim with your head.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Play through the story

This list is really simple, just playing through the game will net you a brand new 100% for your troubles. I do advise buying all the ammo types as soon as possible to make the later levels easier.

  • New Recruit
  • Patroller
  • Crystal Defender
  • Cargo Finder
  • Comms Breakdown
  • Milk Run
  • Under Siege
  • LZ-129
  • Station Rescue
  • Minefield
  • Capital Battle
  • Mysteries of the Tartarus

    Secret trophies

    • Complete Learning to Fly

      Story related cannot be missed.

You must simply complete the tutorial for this trophy. You will be walked through how to fly and at the end will need to take down a few enemy fighters.

    • Complete Border Patrol

      Story related cannot be missed.

This is the first real mission and does become available until after completing the tutorial. This mission plays much like the tutorial except there are more enemies at the end and you are not being told how to fly.

    • Defend the crystal fields from illegal mining

      Story related cannot be missed.

This trophy is earned on the second level after the tutorial. Unlike the levels so far you’re mission is to find and destroy two mining ships. These are stationary ships with gun emplacements and may deploy fighters. Once they are taken care of you have to fight off a handful of fighters before finishing the mission.

    • Locate the missing cargo

      Story related cannot be missed.

This trophy is earned by completing the third mission after the tutorial. This mission requires you to scan three objects until you find what you are looking for all while fighting off resistance scouts. Once you find the object you’ll have a friendly ship warp to you so that you can deliver the object. You’ll then have to defend the ship against enemy fighters before warping out.

    • Interrupt comms systems

      Story related cannot be missed.

This trophy is earned by completing the fourth mission after the tutorial. This mission tasks you to deploy into enemy space and destroy three communication relays while fending off enemy fighters and stationary guns before getting to a warp gate to finish the level. You do not have to kill everything to finish the level, just the communications relays, although I do suggest killing most of the initial enemies as it makes escape simpler.

    • Clear the way

      Story related cannot be missed.

This trophy is earned by completing the fifth mission after the tutorial. This mission tasks you with destroying two jammers so that your big guns can destroy a factory. You can do this mission stealthy and it is much easier that way. At the end of the level you are detected no matter what and must get back to a warp gate before an enemy destroyer kills you. The destroyer isn’t normally a problem if you are quick.

    • Defend the cargo ship

      Story related cannot be missed.

This trophy is earned by completing the sixth mission after the tutorial. This missions requires you to protect a cargo ship while it does repairs. This mission has a lot of enemy fighters and scouts along with new bomber enemies. Destroy all of the enemies in each wave and you’ll be told to warp out.

    • Destroy the carrier

      Story related cannot be missed.

This trophy is earned by completing the seventh mission after the tutorial. This mission tasks you with destroying a capital class carrier vessel. You’ll need to destroy weak points to do so. After the carrier is destroyed you must any remaining fighters before you can warp out.

    • Escort the repair ships

      Story related cannot be missed.

This trophy is earned by completing the eighth mission after the tutorial. Here you are tasked with escorting repair ships to a space station. You will need to ward off advance enemy fighter squadrons and a destroyer vessel before you can complete the mission. You must keep the repair ships safe. I would avoid engaging with the destroyer as long as possible as you will have a capital ship join the fight to help you out.

    • Negotiate the minefield

      Story related cannot be missed.

This trophy is earned by completing the ninth mission after the tutorial. This mission tasks you with rescuing a destroyer. You’ll need to escort repair ships and destroy mines in a minefield all while fighting the new heavy starfighter enemies. Once the ship is back up and running you’ll get a nice little surprise of significant enemy reinforcements. Best suggestion is ensure that you’ve upgraded your weapons by this point and use the plasma or solo ammo on the heavy starfighters.

    • Survive the clash of titans

      Story related cannot be missed.

This trophy is earned by completing the tenth mission after the tutorial. Time to go on the offensive. This mission tasks you with destroying two resistance destroyers with the aid of the ship you saved in the last mission. Your destroyer does most of the work for the resistance destroyers but you’ll need to worry about the fighters and heavy starfighters. Take a few potshots at the destroyers if you get a chance but as long as you don’t get too close to them they should largely ignore you. Once all the enemies are destroyed you can warp out.

    • Discover one of the mysteries of the Tartarus Sector

      Story related cannot be missed.

This trophy is earned by completing the eleventh mission after the tutorial. This is easily the most difficult mission in the game. You are tasked with destroying a heavily fortified research station. Once you reach a certain point in the level you will be fighting against an unknown enemy along with the resistance. The unknown enemy has better ships and weapons than you or the resistance do. I suggest trying to keep your distance as best you can and unloading with missiles and the plasma gun. I also took out the capital class resistance ships as soon as possible but that isn’t required. You will likely die a few times before finding a run that works for you.
