Introduction:

Earth Defense Force 4.1: Wing Diver The Shooter is a spin-off from Earth Defense Force 4.1 and developed by "Clouds" and "Giga Rensya" instead of Sandlot but unlike its older brothers, this game is a bullet hell Shump that sees you take control of Pale 7 (the leader of the Wing Divers) and try to thwart the latest attempt by the alien hordes to destroy Humanity and take over the planet. Compared to the other EDF games, Wing Diver the Shooter is much easier and shorter so shouldn't give you too many problems.

Trophy wise, there is very little that will test your patience but it pays to grind out some armour and farm for better guns before tackling the harder/more annoying ones. Instead of taking nearly 1,000hrs to like the other EDF games do, this one will only take you approx 25hrs to complete (though this does depend on how quickly you manage to find all the weapons and grind out enough armour to survive the harder difficulties). Do note that none of the trophies will pop until you reach the Summary screen at the end of the relevant missions. For simplicity's sake, the Story related trophies will only have a walkthrough for the respective bosses and the more general tips will be added to the respective "No Deaths" trophies. Since the differences between each difficulty are relatively small and the core content barely changes, I'll only be listing the important changes when it comes to the story related Hard, Hardest and Inferno trophies.

Note: The game background saves whenever you finish a Mission and reach the Summary screen but to prevent any possible save file issues, make sure you quit back to the Title Screen via the "Return to Title" button at the bottom of the main menu (just hold / until you reach it).

Glitch notes:

- There is a rare glitch that can strike during Mission 5, which causes part of the scenery to collapse and completely block your view during the Shoot Up Time sequence. If this happens, all you can do is retry the Mission from the beginning.
- This game is built on the Unity Engine, thus you can expect random performance issues.

Walkthrough:

You will only have Easy, Normal and Hard available when you first start the game and whilst you could theoretically jump straight into Hard, I don't recommend it because you will be grossly underpowered and probably die within seconds so start on Easy and work your way up. Hardest will unlock after you finish the game on Hard and Inferno will unlock after you finish the game on Hardest but the Extra Missions won't unlock until you finish the game on all 6 difficulties, thus having to be done last. I will give out weapon recommendations where necessary but for the most part, it's up to you which ones you feel work best. You can tell when you have completed a Mission, because a star will appear in the relevant slot in a box in the bottom right-hand corner of the Mission description box (the Hell version only has the 1 slot): LINK

Step 1: Finish the game on Easy, Normal and Hard, plus grind out 50% of the weapons and earn 200 Armor

How long this Step takes to complete will depend entirely on your luck with the Weapon drops, your skill with surviving each mission and how much Armor you manage to collect whilst you're at it. Anything you collect during any given mission, won't be saved if you die or quit the game/return to the main menu. Getting 200 Armor will come naturally but you will have to grind out a lot more than that to survive the higher difficulties so try to earn as much as possible during this Step.

Trophies earned during this Step:

You might also earn Combo Creator if you're able to keep your combo going but don't worry if you don't, because you will be dedicating your Clean-Up run to get both of the combo trophies.

Step 2: Finish the game on Hardest

You have to finish the game on Hard, before Hardest will become available. Try to earn as much Armor as possible during this Step, because you will need it for the next one.

Trophies earned during this Step:

Training Wings - Hardest
Through the Dark - Hardest
They Can Fly?! - Hardest
Search & Destroy- Hardest
Clear the Skies - Hardest
For Humanity - Hardest

Step 3: Finish the game on Inferno and earn 80% of the weapons

You have to finish the game on Hardest, before Inferno will become available. Inferno is no joke and you will die a lot but don't get frustrated, just learn the appearance and attack patterns of each enemy so you know when to Dodge and when you can hide. Try to earn as much Armor as possible during this Step, because you will need it for the next one.

Trophies earned during this Step:

Training Wings - Inferno
Through the Dark - Inferno
They Can Fly?! - Inferno
Search & Destroy- Inferno
Clear the Skies - Inferno
For Humanity - Inferno
Weapon Enthusiast

Step 4: Finish the game on all 6 initial difficulties without dying

This is the second hardest thing you will do in the entire game but it's nothing you can't beat once you have farmed over 1,500 Armor and have the right weapons equipped. You will more than likely need to practice each Mission several times before you nail it, but I have provided tips and written walkthroughs for each Mission so read those if you get stuck.

Trophies earned during this Step:

For Humanity - Inferno
Just Getting Started
Normal? No Problem!
Hero of Hard Mode
What Do You Mean It Gets Harder?!
Aerial Ace

Step 5: Finish the Extra Missions and do so without dying, whilst also earning the last few weapons you will be missing

The "Extra Missions" Menu won't appear until after you have completed the game on Inferno. You are going to need at least 2,500 Armor before being able to Survive the Extra Missions so grind that out if you don't already have that amount by this point. You will also need some high level weapons so see Seen it All for some recommendations as to which ones you should be using.

Trophies earned during this Step:

Extra Mission 1
Extra Mission 2
Extra Mission 3
Extra Mission 4
Extra Mission 5
Extra Mission 6
Seen it All
Weapon Master

Step 6: Clean-Up

You are on the home stretch now and should only have Combo Creator , Combo Expert and the Platinum left to get so do them now, along with any other trophies you don't have.

Trophies earned during this Step:

  • Clear Mission 1 on Easy Difficulty

    Story related, can't be missed.

Mission 1: Urgent Dispatch is the first mission of the game and acts like a tutorial that covers the basics of how the game works. The hardest part of this mission is the end boss, because it has several attacks that will cover the screen in bullets but the nastiest one is Spider Webbing. This is because it will pull you towards the boss and continuously drain your health until the strand disappears. Fortunately, there is a gap inbetween each strand where you can hide until it disappears. Phase 1 has the boss firing off 3 strands of Spider Webbing, then 3 bullets so try your best to avoid them. Phase 2 has the Boss firing off a hard to Dodge () spiral of bullets but Phase 3 is the hard part because you will be facing 6 strands of webbing and several types of Spreadshot, all at the same time.

The key to defeating this boss, is to Dodge () if you think you're in danger of being hit (since dodging will make you invincible for 2 seconds) and take pot shots at him. After clearing Phases 1 and 2, you will get either a Small or Large Recovery Box to patch yourself up with.
  • Clear Mission 2 on Easy Difficulty

    Story related, can't be missed.

Mission 2: Subway Breakthrough is a much tougher mission than Mission 1, because you will be underground the whole time and have to fight in really tight caverns and corridors. The end boss of Mission 2 is a big step up from the one in the first Mission, because its Spreadshot attacks are much harder to avoid and you have to face an entire army of minions as well. Phase 1 isn't so bad, because it's just you and the boss (a Giant Ant Queen). Phase 2 is a lot harder, due to the minions attacking you as well but Phase 3 will be tough, because the stronger Red Ants will be joining the assault and the Queen will gain a new Artillery attack that takes off a lot of health if it hits you. Unlike Mission 1, you will only get 1 Large Recovery Box after Phase 2 but the basic tactics are the same so Dodge the attacks as best you can and hit the boss when a safe spot opens up.
  • Clear Mission 3 on Easy Difficulty

    Story related, can't be missed.

Mission 3: The Hum of Ruin, sees you back out in the open but this time you will be facing Wasps as well as Spiders and Ants. Boss wise, this time you will be facing 2 Giant Spiders at the same time. Phase 1 has you facing off against only one of the two bosses but that doesn’t mean you're in for an easy ride, because you will be getting a lot of Spider Webbing and Laser Spreadshots at the same time. Phase 2 is more of the same but this time you have both bosses on screen so make liberal use of your Dodge move and take potshots at one or the other of the bosses until they're dead. Phase 3 is tougher than the other two, because the attack patterns are much tighter and harder to avoid and you have you kill both bosses to complete the Mission. Fortunately, you will get a Large Recovery Box after Phases 1 and 2 so grab them before they fly off screen.
  • Clear Mission 4 on Easy Difficulty

    Story related, can't be missed.

Mission 4: To Find a Giant, is where the difficulty really starts to ramp up and can get frustrating at times so equip your best weapons and replay Mission 1 on Easy difficulty if you need to farm more Armor. The Mission 4 boss is an Erginus (think Godzilla on steroids) and it has some seriously nasty electricity based attacks that are very difficult to avoid, including: Bullet Spreadshots, Lightning Breath, Lightning Bolts and Homing Lightning Bolts. During the Phase 1 and Phase 2 Transitions, you will have to deal with Spreadshots from the boss's tail and the appearance of some very angry Wasps. To compensate for the higher difficulty, you will get 2 Recovery Boxes after defeating each Phase (1 Large and 1 Small) so make use of them.
  • Clear Mission 5 on Easy Difficulty

    Story related, can't be missed.

Mission 5: The Creatures' Nest, sees you entering really close quarters again but this time you're inside a giant Wasp's Nest and the enemies really don't want you in there. The End Boss is a Giant Red Mutant Queen Wasp and her attacks are the second deadliest in the entire game. You will be facing Acid bullets, Lasers and Laser Stinger Spreadshots during all 3 Phases of the fight, plus additional Laser Stinger attacks from the Minion Wasps that come to the Queen's aid. The difficulty of this fight comes from the Queen's extreme rate of fire and high DPS (Damage Per Second) which makes survival very difficult. The key to surviving this fight, is to have a high DPS weapon of your own (e.g. one of the LAZRs or Thunder Snipers) and make liberal use of your Dodge move. Your main advantage is that the Queen is so big, that her hit box is almost impossible to miss so lay into her at every opportunity until she's toast but try and stay near the bottom of the screen so you have some room to manoeuvre. Fortunately, you will get a Large Recovery Box after Phases 1 and 2 so grab them ASAP.
  • Clear Mission 6 on Easy Difficulty

    Story related, can't be missed.

Mission 6: Star Cluster, is the sixth and final Mission in the game and the hardest one overall. This Mission is effectively one giant boss battle, with enemies and bullets flying everywhere so make sure you have at least 250-300 armour and a decent long ranged weapon before tackling it. You will end up fighting 2 of the Alien's Motherships over the course of the mission, with the first one protected by Drones and Lasers. To defeat Mothership No.1, you have to take out most of the Laser Plates then dump everything you have into its main reactor core when the cover opens (whilst also dodging a ton of Laser Bullet Spreadshots and Lightning Bolts). Fortunately, most of the drones will drop a Small Recovery Box when killed so keep that in mind. Mothership No.2 is a lot harder, because it's a 5 Phase fight and each one is harder than the one before it.

Phase 1 has you taking on the Mothership's Genocide Gun, which is easier said then done because you will be under constant attack from Beam Lasers and Laser Spreadshots so do your best to Dodge what you can and stay out of range of the rest. To destroy the Genocide Gun, you have to aim your fire at the Diamond in the middle of it but this will be tough because of all the heavy armour plating that protects it so use long range attacks to whittle away its health.

Phase 2 has you taking on 1 of 4 Gun Batteries. This first Battery isn't too bad, because all 3 of its Laser attacks are easily Dodged whilst you focus your attacks on the centre Gun. If you start taking a lot of damage, then destroy some of the Laser Plates since certain ones will drop a Small Recovery Box. Whilst transitioning to Phase 3, you will have to take out more of the Laser Plates so be careful and do your best to avoid getting hit whilst destroying some of them.

Phase 3 is essentially a re-run of Phase 2, only with a slightly different attack pattern and more powerful lasers so shouldn't prove too difficult.

Phase 4 begins with another Laser Plate transition fight, before dumping you in front of the final 2 Gun Batteries. This fight is a lot more dangerous than the other 2, because the Lasers are a lot more accurate this time and you will also be fighting off 2 rows of Laser Plates. Duck and weave as best you can and focus all your attacks on one or the other of the Guns until it's destroyed, then turn your attention to the other one but target any Laser Plates that get in your way whilst doing so. Note: Destroying the Laser Plates will occasionally release some Small Recovery Boxes.

Once both Gun Batteries have been destroyed, it's time for Phase 5 and main event - an assault on the Mothership's Reactor Core. This is the single hardest part of the entire mission, because the Mothership will be throwing every conceivable attack at you so Dodge like crazy and focus all your attacks on the Reactor Core but don't take your eyes off it. Eventually you will do so much damage, that the Core explodes and takes the Mothership with it! Congratulations, you've just defeated the Alien horde!
  • Clear Mission 1 on Normal Difficulty

    Story related, can't be missed.

    Boss tips:

Phase 1 isn't too bad, because the Boss's attacks are very easy to avoid and the only real threat is the Spreadshot of bullets that accompanies the first wave of Webbing so Dodge () before they hit.

Phase 2 consists entirely of Bullet Spreadshots but none of them are hard to avoid.

Phase 3 is a lot harder than the other two, because the Webbing is harder to avoid and there are several different Spreadshots to contend with but these will change to a spiral version after the screen stops scrolling.
  • Clear Mission 2 on Normal Difficulty

    Story related, can't be missed.

    Boss tips:

Phase 1 consists of various Acid Spreadshots but none are hard to avoid.

Phase 2 sees the Queen's minions join the fight and will spray Acid bullets at you then the Queen will fire off some Acid Bullet Spreadshots, which are harder to avoid because of all the other bullets that are flying around.

Phase 3 is the hardest part, because the Queen will gain a powerful Acid artillery attack and the screen will be full of her minions who will get in the way of your attacks. To counter the minions, use a Plasma Launcher then move in and take a pot shot at the Queen before she retaliates.
  • Clear Mission 3 on Normal Difficulty

    Story related, can't be missed.

    Boss tips:

Phase 1 isn’t too bad but there will be a lot of bullets flying around, plus you will also have to avoid the Webbing attack that happens before the bullets appear.

Phase 2 sees another Giant Spider join the fight. The Giant Spiders will alternate their attacks with each other but both have the same ones i.e. Laser Spreadshots and masses of Webbing. There will be gaps you can hide in but you will often have to Dodge into them so time your move carefully so you don't take too much damage or get tangled up in the Webbing. Fortunately, you only have to deplete the health of one of them for the fight to progress to the third and final phase.

Phase 3 is virtually the same as Phase 2, only this time there are fewer Lasers and the fight will end after both Giant Spiders are dead.
  • Clear Mission 4 on Normal Difficulty

    Story related, can't be missed.

    Boss tips:

Phase 1 sees the boss use various Electricity based Bullet and Lightning attacks but you should be able to Dodge the worst of them if you get the timings right.

After Phase 1, you will transition to a new area and have to fight off some bullets from the boss's back and some Wasps who will fly in to assist him. Use a Plasma Launcher to kill the Wasps but remember to Dodge the bullets that come from the boss.

Phase 2 is the same as Phase 1, only with more frequent and even powerful attacks from the boss. The next transition will be much harder than the first, because there will be a constant barrage of bullets coming from the boss.

Phase 3 is especially hazardous, because the boss will gain a Godzilla esque breath attack that will put a serious hole in your Armor gauge if it hits you. You will also have to contend with the Lightning and bullet attacks from his Chest and Head so Dodge them, then take a pot shot at the boss - rinse and repeat until he’s toast.
  • Clear Mission 5 on Normal Difficulty

    Story related, can't be missed.

    Boss tips:

Phase 1 consists of Minions, Acid bullets, Laser Stinger Spreadshots and a Laser Spreadshot. Most of these things are easily avoided but the Laser Stingers are densely packed so stay near the bottom of the screen to stand the best chance of Dodging them.

Phase 2 is where things ramp up, because the boss's attacks will increase in ferocity and the minions will join in the fight by firing off their own Laser Stingers at you so spam your Plasma Launcher of choice.

Phase 3 is the hardest part of the fight, because all of the enemy attacks will become far more frequent and deadly and be much harder to avoid so pay close attention to what is happening on screen. As before, you will stand a much better chance of survival by sitting at the bottom the screen. Eventually, you will do enough damage to kill the boss and finish the Mission.
  • Clear Mission 6 on Normal Difficulty

    Story related, can't be missed.

    Boss tips:

Mothership 1 - Phase 1: This starts with wave after wave of Drones so use a Plasma Launcher to clear a path but remember to Dodge any Bullets that get through. Once you reach the first Mothership, you will be faced with two alternating rows of Laser Plates. It's possible to get through this section without firing a shot if you sit in the gaps inbetween the lasers. The pattern changes with each barrage so you will have to move around a bit in order to avoid taking too much damage.

Mothership 1 - Phase 2: The Shoot Up Time sequence is simple enough, just spam your Plasma Launcher or other Plasma Launcher of choice but make sure you get enough kills to unlock the Recovery and Weapon Boxes (150, 200 and 250 respectively).

Mothership 1 - Phase 3: The Reactor Core is easy enough, just shoot the pink bit in the middle of the screen but avoid the bullets coming from the Drones. Once the Core has been destroyed, you will get a cutscene then transition to the Mothership 2 - Phase 1.

Mothership 2 - Phase 1: You will be thrown straight into the deep end and be put up against a constant barrage of hard to dodge, Bullets and Lasers. The Genocide Gun's attacks aren't that hard to avoid but the Bullets coming from its arms are. To avoid taking too much damage, take out the 3 bullet spewing arms ASAP. With the arms destroyed, blast off the armour plating from both sides of the Genocide Gun then lay into the gun itself. Once the Genocide Gun has been destroyed, you will get a cutscene and then transition to the first of 4 Gun Batteries that have to be destroyed.

Mothership 2 - Phase 2: Gun Battery No.1, has 4 arms going round it and each one has a gun on it that will fire off a stream of bullets that will hit you nearly every time so take them out immediately. With the arms gone, sit on the tip of the central gun, its attacks will miss you 99% of the time so will allow you to destroy the gun in peace. After destroying the Gun Battery, you will go through a transition sequence with a load of Laser Plates that can be destroyed but it may be wiser to just Dodge their Lasers and focus on staying alive.

Mothership 2 - Phase 3: Phase 3 is essentially the same as Phase 2, only this time there are no safe spots so Dodge the incoming bullets and take potshots at the Gun Battery until it blows up. With that Battery destroyed, it’s time for another Laser Plate transition sequence then you will be in front of Gun Batteries 3 & 4.

Mothership 2 - Phase 4: You will be Dodging a lot during this section, because there will be a lot of bullets and Lasers coming your way from both Gun Batteries and the Laser Plates. The fastest and safest way to clear this section is to focus purely on the Gun Batteries and ignore everything else.

Mothership 2 - Phase 5: The best advice I can give for this section is to alternate between Dodging and taking potshots at the Reactor Core, because the Core's attacks will get more frequent and violent whenever it takes a large amount of damage. The Drones are more of a nuisance than anything, because they are seemingly only there to block any of your shots from hitting the Reactor Core so use your Plasma Launcher to get rid of them. After you've fully depleted its health bar, the Reactor Core will explode and take the Mothership with it!

    Notes:

    - Before taking on any of the "Clear all 6 missions on X Difficulty without failing a mission" trophies, I strongly recommend ensuring you have at least 2,500 Armor. For the Easy, Normal and Hard missions, I recommend equipping the Cyclone Laser (earned during Mission 6 on Hardest) and Thunder Sniper C (earned during Mission 1 on Hard) but adding the Thunder Sniper D (earned during Mission 3 on Hardest) when tackling the Hardest and Inferno Missions. Once you have the above setup, the game becomes a complete joke to finish.

    - Dying at any point during a mission, will void the respective "no deaths" trophies. If you do die, it's best to finish the mission so you get at least some additional Armor (even if it's only an extra point or two). Also note that each mission must be played from beginning to end, in one go and you must do each one in sequence i.e. Mission 1, Mission 2, Mission 3 etc. etc. If you die at any point during your attempt, you will have to restart from the beginning of Mission 1.

    - There's no way of telling which missions you have completed without dying, thus I recommend keeping track of your progress by downloading this tracking sheet I created: LINK

    General tips:

    - The Mission 1, 3 and 5 bosses and most phases of the Mission 6 bosses can be quickly destroyed by sitting on them and firing the Cyclone Laser at point blank range. For the Mission 2 and 4 bosses and the final part of the final Mission 6 boss, it's safer to sit at the bottom of the screen and take pot shots with your Thunder Sniper so you have a better chance of Dodging any attacks that come your way. Don't go near the centre of the Mothership 2's Reactor Core at the end of Mission 6, else you will be torn to pieces by rapid fire Lasers.

    - You can avoid taking damage, by positioning yourself in the gap between each bullet/attack that an enemy fires at you. Most attacks can be avoided in this way but there are some attacks, most noticeably certain ones used by the Mission 4, 5 and 6 bosses, that are unavoidable so remember to Dodge those () instead of trying to hide inbetween them.

    - Keep moving and don't stand still, else you will make yourself an easy target and quickly lose health.

    - Always aim to earn enough points during the Shoot Up Time sequences to claim the Recovery box prizes so you will recover at least some of your Armor.

    - You can skip the cutscenes, end credits and Shoot Up Time score tallying by pressing . You will be skipping a lot of cutscenes during your no deaths runs, because it quickly becomes tiresome having to watch the same ones over and over again.

    - Don't overheat your Energy gauge, else your movement speed will be reduced to a crawl and you will have no access to your weapons until the gauge has cooled down. Some of the available weapons will drain the Energy Gauge in the blink of an eye so make sure to pulse fire them instead of keeping held down.

    - Even though it appears that you have a lot of room to manoeuvre, the space above and to the sides of the Energy and Armor gauges are walled off with an invisible barrier.

    - Unlike all the other Earth Defense Force games, the Spider Webs will actually disappear on killing the Spider that fired them off so take advantage of this and kill the Spiders ASAP.
  • Obtain 150 Armor

See How Can You Still Fly?!
  • Obtain 200 Armor

    This is an Armor Box:

The game explains the Armor system better than I can so see the following quote:

For every Armor Box you collect in a mission, 1 point of Armor will be added to your maximum Armor total upon clearing said mission. If you fail and retreat from a mission, Armor Boxes will be converted at a rate of 1 point for every 3 boxes.

The best place to farm for Armor is Mission 1 on Easy. Once the mission begins, start spamming Plasma Launcher rounds and pick up any Armor Boxes that appear. You need at least 2,500 Armor to survive the higher difficulties so both this and Getting Tough will come naturally.
  • Get a 1000 combo

    See Combo Expert
  • Get a 2000 combo

Note: Please keep in mind that getting hit will reset the combo counter to 0 so make good use of your Dodge move () to avoid incoming fire.

The best way to get this is to equip the Cyclone Laser (obtained during Mission 6 on Hardest Difficulty) then load up the Middle Section of Stage 5 on Easy difficulty. The trick is to pulse the Cyclone Laser by holding for 2-3 seconds then letting go and waiting half a second before pressing it again. Rinse and repeat until you have a combo of over 2,000 hits. If done correctly, you will get both this and Combo Creator once the Mission is over. Credit to PlaystationLifestyle.net for the tip.

(The above image was taken from the in-game Help Menu)

You can view and equip your acquired weapons by going: Weapon Select => Press on either of the weapon slots then scroll left or right and up or down with the or until you find the one you want (though I recommend the because the can be overly sensitive when it comes to menu navigation). To equip your chosen weapon, press . Unlike the other EDF games, all the weapons will spawn in the same spots in each Mission but this time their availability is also affected by the difficulty you're playing on. This list by bladesoframen, will show you roughly when and where each weapon will spawn but do note that it's not 100% complete: LINK. Also note that just like the other games in the series, dying will cause you to lose any and all weapons you've found during that mission but this time as minor compensation you will be allowed to keep a tiny fraction of the armour you have accumulated. It has been reported that this trophy will pop early if you collect the weapons from the Training Mode DLC but I cannot confirm this 100% (credit to JazzHandsRaptor for this info).

  • Clear all 6 Extra Missions

    General Tips:

    - The description for this trophy is extremely misleading, because it fails to mention that you must finish all 6 Extra Missions without dying!

    - Before taking on this trophy, I strongly recommend ensuring you have at least 2,500 Armor. As for weapons, I strongly recommend equipping the ARC-LAZR and XSX Plasma Launcher (both are obtained during Mission 6 on Inferno difficulty).

    - Dying at any point during a mission will void this trophy. If you do die, it's best to finish the mission so you get at least some additional Armor (even if it’s only an extra point or two). Also note that each mission must be played from beginning to end, in one go and you must do each one in sequence i.e. Mission 1, Mission 2, Mission 3 etc. etc. If you die at any point during your attempt, you will have to restart from the beginning of Mission 1 and try again.

    - There's no way of telling which missions you have completed without dying, thus I recommend keeping track of your progress by using this tracking sheet I have created: LINK

    - All the enemies are many times stronger and more dangerous than their normal versions and their attacks will take off an insane amount of your Armor when they hit. If you’ve played the DLCs for Earth Defense Force 4.1: Shadow of Despair, you will recognise these new enemies from there and what a pain they were to kill.

    - The Bosses no longer drop Recovery Boxes.

    - Armor and Recovery Boxes are now rarer.

    Hell difficulty specific tips:

    - The safest way to take out the bosses is to stay a close to the bottom of the screen as possible and use your ARC-LAZR.

    - Dodging is your only real chance of avoiding damage, because the enemy attacks come thick and fast and are virtually impossible to avoid. All enemy types have vastly different attacks compared to their easier cousins and include: Lightning, Acid and Lasers. Some enemies will start using Laser Stingers, instead of their usual Lasers.

    - Keep moving and don't stand still, else you will make yourself an easy target and quickly lose health.

    - Always aim to earn enough points during the Shoot Up Time sequences, to claim the Recovery box prizes so you will recover at least some of your Armor.

    - Overheating your Energy gauge is a bad idea anyway but on Hell difficulty, it’s suicide so avoid doing that at all costs.

    Boss changes:

    - They have more health.
    - Attacks include Acid and Laser Spreadshots
    - The Mission 2 boss also packs a Lightning attack
    - The Mission 3 bosses now shoot Laser Stingers, Acid Bullets and Acid Shots instead of Webbing.
    - The Mission 4 boss now shoots Lasers, Laser Stingers and Acid Bullets as well as its other attacks
    - The Mission 5 boss now shoots Lasers instead of its other attacks.
    - The Mothership 2 boss in Mission 6 now shoots Acid Bullets and Laser Spreadshots instead of most of its normal attacks.
