Introduction:

Have you ever wanted to change the past? Time travel shenanigans abound in Deponia Doomsday as Rufus and Goal, seek to change the course of the past three games in the Deponia quadrilogy of point and click games.

Unlike the previous games, there are no game-spanning trophies in Deponia Doomsday. However, there are several one-shot trophies. I recommend using the six save slots before going for those, as you'll have to start a new game if you miss your opportunity. At the very least, I recommend making a separate save at the beginning of each Act, just in case. Also, you can skip cutscenes/dialogue to your heart's content in this one; the singer (and the trophies watching his cutscenes trigger) is absent in this installment.

There is one incredibly tedious trophy – 1001 Jackalopes – that makes this game about two hours longer than it needs to be. I recommend doing it in a single sitting to minimize the chances that you'll mess something up and have to do extra work.

Walkthrough:

Note that while I'm breaking this up into acts, there is no chapter/act select in the game. This is more to help you keep track of where things are supposed to unlock. As I recommended in the Introduction, make a manual save at the beginning of each of the below steps to minimize any replaying you may have to do.

Keep in mind – nearly all of the trophies are missable!

Step 1: Play through Prologue/Act I, without skipping puzzles

Play through the game's prologue and Act I. The only one-shot trophy you need to worry about here is Quickdraw.

By the end of this step, you will have earned (in order):

Against better judgement
Distraction
Sole Music
Huzza, he's back.
Shall we play a game?
Kuvaq Minigame-Master
Weapons 101
Masseltov
Quickdraw (highly missable)
And again, and again, and...

Step 2: Play through Act II, without skipping puzzles

Play through Act II. Here is where the tedious trophy comes into play; see 1001 Jackalopes for more information about that. While some of the trophies have a short window in which they can be unlocked, none of them are one-shots.

By the end of this step, you will have earned (in order):

Brainfreeze
Pacifist
Burn, Elysium, burn!
FunScore
Chunky
1001 Jackalopes
Sadist
Elysian Minigame-Master
Funtime's over

Step 3: Play through Act III and IV

Play through Acts III and IV. There are no one-shot trophies in either Act, but there are two mutually-exclusive trophies relating to the combat section in the Hall of Mirrors in Act III, so make sure you make a separate temporary save before starting that part of the Act. There aren't many puzzles left in the game but you can safely skip them when they appear.

By the end of this step, you will have earned (in order):

Thuna...?
Monstrous Harassment
The customer is always right
Every man for himself!
No man left behind!
Photo Friend
Boat of love, boat of love
Goat Team
Scaffolding Expert
School's out

Step 4: Play through Act V

Act V has another one-shot trophy, near the end (Heading the inverter). There aren't many puzzles left in the game but you can safely skip them when they appear.

By the end of this step, you will have earned (in order):

Play it again, Ronny
Portals come in packs
Heading the inverter
Apoca...huh?
Paradox!
Blast from the Past
And everything comes full circle.

...and finally: Deponia Doomsday unlocked! ! Congratulations!

37 trophies ( 14  18  12  )

  • You unlocked all other trophies.

    Huzzah!

  • Welcome back to Deponia

    Story-related and cannot be missed.

You will unlock this during the cutscenes leading into Act I.

  • Did anyone get that?

    Story-related and cannot be missed.

You will unlock this at the end of Act I, after pushing a few buttons on the UFO.

  • Slightly above body temperature

    Story-related and cannot be missed.

You will unlock this early in Act II, after rejoining McChronicle and Goal and making your way to the locks.

  • The perfect place for mayhem

    Story-related and cannot be missed.

You will unlock this at the end of Act II.

  • He is a true romantic

    Story-related and cannot be missed.

You will unlock this at the end of Act III.

  • What a wild ride it has been...

    Story-related and cannot be missed.

You will unlock this at the end of Act IV.

  • Logic is the last resort of the uninspired.

    Story-related and cannot be missed.

You will unlock this midway through Act V.

  • I told you: do not tempt endings!

    Story-related and cannot be missed.

You will unlock this at the end of the game.

  • Get distracted by a fewlock while three bars are glowing.

In the prologue, once you're in possession of a blowtorch, you can burn through the bolts in the blast tower door. There are four bolts you need to turn red in order to get through but for this trophy, you need to get only three of the bars red then click away when a shadow runs across the screen. If you were able to time it correctly, you will unlock this trophy.

  • Destroy many, many toilet seats.

In the china shop area during Act I, if you try to pick up any of the figurines on the shelves, you'll destroy the shop and reveal a bunch of toilet seats. Before doing anything else, just keep clicking on the toilet seats (6-7 times) until this trophy unlocks.

  • Give Tuck all possible gun variants.

In Act I, you will end up in an underground area with Tuck, who requests a gun from you before you can proceed. There are four different variations you need to give him:

    • Empty muzzleloader
    • Muzzleloader + gunpowder
    • Muzzleloader + gunpowder + shot
    • Loaded muzzleloader (just use the bottle brush with the previous variation)
  • Let Rufus eat a lot of icecream.

In Act II, on the balcony, is an ice cream machine. Just press the buttons on it (5-6 times) until this trophy unlocks but you need to do this before destroying the elevator inside the machine.

  • Create every jackalope and clone it.

This tedious trophy has no business being in this game but it is and we all have to deal with it.

While playing through Act II, you will come into possession of three cartridges with biological samples on them. Take them to the petting zoo area of the Chill Zone, and you will find a jackalope generator. Putting any two of the cartridges into the generator will allow you to swap traits – body size, facial expression, body covering, head covering, and color – between the two cartridges. This gives you a possible 243 unique genetic combinations of jackalope, and you'll need to produce them all.

Once you have a cartridge with a unique combination on it, take it over to the petting zoo and put the cartridge in the slot behind the hatch to actually create ("clone") the jackalope. If you're efficient, you will knock this trophy out in a whopping (yet still efficient) 81 rounds at the jackalope generator.

Steam user DocSunday has made an excellent spreadsheet detailing three unique combinations to put on each round of cartridges before loading them one at a time into the hatch (the starting combinations are the default ones from when you first get the cartridges). Find it here: LINK. User contramundi has transcribed this same spreadsheet into one with words in stead of symbols here: LINK. Use whichever is easier for you. Regardless of which you choose, either print it out or open a copy of it in paint or some equivalent and cross out each combination as you go or you'll find yourself in a world of hurt if you've ended up missing something, because there's no in-game way to track this. Good luck.

  • Mix the drink first, then grind down the maggot.

In Act II, in the Chill Zone, talking to Elder Trois will gain you a giant maggot, which you must grind up and turn into sausage. You also need to make Elder Trois a drink at the bar behind him. To unlock this trophy, simply solve the drink puzzle before grinding up the maggot to make the sausage.

  • Reach almost 10000 fun points.

In Act II, you will take the elevator down to the Fun Zone for story reasons. To progress the story, you only need to play the motor racing (bottom right arrow) activity. Before doing that, however, play the other three activities. You don't actually have to get the 10,000 fun points; no matter your score, as long as you played the other three activities prior to racing, you'll end the race with 9,999 points and unlock this trophy.

  • Dump a lot of hot coal into your crotch.

In Act II, after finally getting into the sauna with the remaining Elysium elders, coat Rufus' body with their sweat to be able to move around. Once you can, pick up the ladle, scoop some coal and put it in the nearby elder's towel-covered lap. Repeat this 5 times to unlock this trophy.

  • Collect all photo variants before you take the final snapshot.

In Act III, you will come across a bowling alley area with a photo backdrop near it. There are five separate photos you'll need to take for this trophy – and some will need to be taken by McChronicle, as you'll need to dismantle the camera's auto-shooter to take some of these photos.

    1. Just the backdrop, with no additions to it
    2. Backdrop with one addition (either the gingerbread heart or the star)
    3. Backdrop with both additions
    4. Backdrop with both additions and the hand
    5. Backdrop with both additions, the hand and the ring
  • Save your party, let nobody die.

In Act III, you will come into possession of – and swiftly lose – a unicorn ring. Round up the Junk Knights in the Quarry to act as your other party members to do battle with the wombat that stole it. Before entering the Hall of Mirrors, MAKE A SEPARATE SAVE, as you cannot unlock both this and Every man for himself! in the same game.

For this trophy, while doing battle, damage the wombat with the glass shard as quickly as you can until it dies. Who the wombat attacks is down to RNG so this may take a few tries.

  • Your party be damned, let them all die.

In Act III, you will come into possession of – and swiftly lose – a unicorn ring. Round up the Junk Knights in the Quarry to act as your other party members to do battle with the wombat that stole it. Before entering the Hall of Mirrors, MAKE A SEPARATE SAVE, as you cannot unlock both this and No man left behind! in the same game.

For this trophy, while doing battle, damage the wombat with the glass shard three times, then wait for it to kill all of the Junk Knights before finishing it off. Who the wombat attacks is down to RNG so this may take a few tries.

  • Sucessfully complete all minigames in Kuvaq

Self-explanatory; just don't skip any minigames during Act I. All of the minigames are story-related so you don't need to worry about missing any.

  • Successfully complete all minigames on Elysium

Self-explanatory; just don't skip any minigames during Act II. All of the minigames are story-related so you don't need to worry about missing any.

  • Let the goat hop from flag to flag a lot of times.

In Act IV, when you're out in the main quad area, you should see a goat on the roof of the background buildings, nibbling on a flag. If you walk to the left to the notice board, there is a switch you can press that will raise a flag on a different building, sending the goat over to it. Simply hit the switch until the trophy unlocks (around 10 times).

  • Head the power inverter during slow-motion.

This is a one-shot trophy in Act V. While easy to unlock, I still recommend making a backup save when you find yourself back in the underground area, being held hostage.

Go through the dialogue with Tuck to set up a plan, then kick the ray gun pointing at Rufus. You will enter a cutscene with a slow-motion power inverter headed towards Rufus. Simply click on it when it is near Rufus' head and you will unlock this trophy.

  • Go through all portals.

Near the end of Act V you will enter an arcade-style minigame with closed portals coming towards you from the left, middle and right. What you want to do for this trophy is shoot open and enter one of each of them. To actually pass this minigame, you want to shoot open the portal, then avoid it but you can safely skip this minigame once you've unlocked this trophy.

Secret trophies

  • Please put the torch back where it belongs.

During the prologue, you will use an improvised flamethrower to thaw out a frozen toolbox and access a blowtorch. Once the blowtorch is in your inventory, put it back in the toolbox to unlock this trophy.

  • He doesn't deserve any better! Kick the Fewlock as often as you can.

Near the end of the prologue, you will need to kick a clamp attached to a bomb, while avoiding the Fewlock monster trying to attack you. Select the Fewlock monster and kick it 5-10 times to unlock this trophy.

  • Slingshot the elephant before he can say anything.

This is a one-shot trophy so I highly recommend making a save after setting up your trap with the noose and the toilet seat outside of the balloon house.

After springing the above trap, you will come into possession of a piece of rubble. Take it to the balloon house (inside it is the last chance you have to make the recommended save) and put it in the stove. Once you regain control of Rufus, quickly walk up to the cactus and click on the lever that leads to the underground area. The goal is to trigger the switch before the elephant finishes his line of dialogue that he's saying when you gain control. If you weren't able to time it correctly, reload your save.

  • Don't put the fruit to the middle square.

In the Kuvaq Village Center in Act I, you will be able to play a sort of tic tac toe game with the two boys. To unlock this trophy, play through an entire game without ever placing one of your pieces in the center space. Note that you do not have to actually win the game to unlock this trophy; you just need to avoid the center space until the other player fills it. I recommend doing this before winning the game (which you need to do for story reasons), but you can do this at any point before taking the wax from the honey dispenser behind the boys.

  • Find the dolphin.

In Act III, at the Tunnel of Love, you should see a skeleton of a dolphin going through a hoop. It is in the background, just left of the pole that the bird is on. Walk around the dock area a bit to trigger the dolphin's hotspot, then look at the dolphin skeleton to unlock this trophy.

  • Annoy the sea monster until it snaps.

In Act III, at the Tunnel of Love, you should see a tentacle going in and out of the water near a pair of tires. Walk up to the water's edge and click on the tentacle a few times to unlock this trophy.

  • Find the scaffolding!

In Act IV, you will go to the roof of the lecture hall in order to grab the white platypus nested there. On the roof is scaffolding; simply look at it to unlock this incredibly easy trophy.

  • Order a sausage from the sausage bot many times.

In Act III, you will receive a sausage token from Pimpy at the Tunnel of Love. Take it to the sausage-bot in the Main Square and order a sausage. Inquire what else is on the menu, then just keep asking for sausages. After 5-6 times, you will unlock this trophy (still no sausage for you, though).

  • Never pick up the paintball gun.

In Act II, inside the storeroom where the main fuse button is, is a paintball gun. Just don't pick it up for the entirety of the act. Easy peasy.

  • Press the jukebox until you get a song.

In the diner in Act V is a jukebox, in the bottom right corner of the screen. Simply click on it until this trophy unlocks (5-10 times).

  • Wait until the countdown should be finished.

Near the end of Act V, you will briefly find yourself back in the snowy area you played through in the prologue. Exit behind the Chillbot to find the Chronocar, then simply put the controller down for about two minutes and you will unlock this trophy.

  • Use the milk on yourself.

The description of this trophy is incorrect.

During the time loop in Elysium near the end of Act V, you will be running in the Habitat Ring from the pink elephant. In front of one of the doors on the right are two bottles of milk – pick them up. Back in Baby Goal's Habitat, locate the loose panel just left of the ramp and hide the milk bottles there. Play through until you find yourself back in the bathroom, then exit to Goal's Habitat and recover the bottles of milk. Combine the milk bottles together to unlock this trophy.
