Introduction:

Welcome to Demon Gaze II. This sequel takes place some years after the first Demon Gaze but the story is standalone, with some recurring characters from the previous game.

This platinum is much easier than the previous game. You can play on the easiest difficulty, Lukewarm, which allows you to revive three times in battle after you get wiped out. Also, you no longer have to pay rent whenever you return unlike the previous game. In this game, demons join your party, and they already have a predetermined class.

Most of the trophies are story related, and there are only a few that require you to go out of the way. There are no missables, and everything can be completed in one playthrough. There is no trophy for collecting certain rare weapons like in the previous game. The mushroom and skull collecting return from the previous game.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Complete the game and recruit all demons.

Simply complete the game and recruit all demons, including the optional ones. This will unlock most of the trophies. Also, make sure to perform maintenance on demons, not only for some trophies, but they gain very useful skills and stats. Make sure to max out the affection with one demon for a trophy, but I actually recommend maxing out affection with all of the demons that you actively use. When you unlock the final dungeon, it is possible to collect all mushrooms and skulls. You can do that right before you defeat the final boss, or in post-game.

After this step, you should earn the following trophies:

The Secret of the Grimoire
Going Out Together
Strengthening the Bond
First Transformation
First Fusion
Private Room
Treasure Hunter
We Are the Revolutionist Party!
The Crystal That Sings
Crack a Joke!
Love and Hate
The First Live Show!

The Lost Voice
Another Show! But then...!
Return of the Sisterly Bond
First, Strip
The Final Show!
Charge! To Asteria Castle!
Victory for the Revolutionist Party!
The Pegasus is Too Pure
The Goat Princess
Benevolent Balance
A Lion Girl?
The Pompous Swan
The Unfortunate Centaur
The Serious Dragon
The Nihilistic Peacock
The Excitable Rabbit
The Scorpion Lady
The Aquarius
The Stubborn Bull
The Silent Hound
The Conceited Fox
Sea Serpent Ninja
The Ram Genius
Everyone Gather!

Full-Fledged Gazer
Full-Fledged Gazer

Step 2: Post-game and cleanup.

After completing the story, you have more one quest that unlocks, and it unlocks a new dungeon in Asteria Castle. Defeat the boss here for a trophy. If you haven’t done so already, you can collect mushrooms and skulls. If you haven’t reached level 40 yet, grind until you reach this level. You can also work on the Misrid quest line. There are no trophies associated with that, but it can help you reach level 40.

After this step, you should earn the following trophies:

The Remaining Trials
The Mortician's Hobby
Who Wants These?
Master Gazer
Demon Gazer

  • Prometh: "You get this because you got the other trophies."

    Congrats. You’re a Master Gazer!
  • Prometh: "You performed Maintenance. Good for you."

A little further into the game, after recruiting Libra and Leo, you will be able to do Maintenance. Perform a Maintenance for the very first time to unlock this. Performing Maintenance requires a Maintenance Crystal, which are rather limited in supply.
This becomes a mini-game where you have to select an area on the demon. You have a practice round where you can select a certain amount of areas (depending on affection level), and figure out the best area for when you do it for real. Try to get Perfects as they increase the affection the highest. It takes 10 Perfects to increase affection from 1 to 5 on a demon.
  • Prometh: "This trophy is for going out with a demon you became friends with."

This unlocks when you first go on a date with a demon. See Strengthening the Bond for more information on dates.
  • Prometh: "This trophy is for becoming great friends with a demon."

This trophy unlocks when you reach level 5 affection with a demon.
When a demon reaches 100% in their current affection level, you can go on a date with that demon in the Maintenance room. Going on a date will increase the affection to the next level and does not use a Maintenance Crystal.
The quickest way to increase a demon’s affection is by using Maintenance Crystals and getting Perfects.
You can also put a demon in their own room to increase affection. This is much slower, but it doesn’t use Maintenance Crystals. Their affection will slowly increase as you do battles.
  • Prometh: "This trophy is for transforming a demon."

To transform a demon in battle, select “Demon” and then select “Demonize”. This uses up 2 Star Points from the Star Gauge and the Star Gauge decreases per turn while they are demonized, but the demons gain a boost to their stats.
  • Prometh: "This trophy is for fusing with a demon."

During the story, there will be a fight where you will be taught how to fuse with a demon, though you can finish the fight without using it. To fuse with a demon, in battle, you must first use Demonize. Once it's used, select Cross and select a Demon that you want to fuse with. Once the fuse is over, the demon you fused with will be weakened for the rest of the fight.
  • Prometh: "The manager told me to give you this trophy once you rent a room."

Story related and cannot be missed.

After you defeat Leo, after some cutscenes, you will be automatically given a room to place a demon in, though you don’t actually have to put a demon in the room to unlock the trophy. By placing a demon in a room, their affection increases slowly and you can place furniture in their room to increase their stats. If you want more rooms, you will have to pay money to rent them. Despite being called “rent”, it’s really a one time fee.
  • Prometh: "Since you completed your first circle battle, this trophy is yours."

Story related and cannot be missed.

In order to progress in the story, you have to place gems in circles and fight a battle. Once the battle is won, the circle is claimed. Once all circles in an area are claimed, the Demon Circle appears where you can fight the demon who controls the area. Since you’ll be doing this throughout the game, this is unmissable.

  • Prometh: "Got the Breathing Veil. To make it, remove your clothes..."

Story related and cannot be missed.

In order to progress in the story, you will need to make the Breathing Veil. The pieces needed are located in 3 places:
    1. 666th Avenue - Goblin Road - X16 Y12
    2. Mausoleum of Lamps - Old Royal Tomb - X1 Y11
    3. Dragonwood Dream - Separation Anxiety, Act 1 - X15 Y17

After getting all 3 pieces, talk to Lezerem in Stella's Place.
  • Prometh: "Stella's Place was raided after the broadcast. The final show, in many ways."

Story related and cannot be missed.

After defeating Draco, head to Rune Lighthouse for some more cutscenes. There will be a fight here. The first wave is 4 Knights & 3 High Knights. The Second Wave is 3 High Knights & 3 Machine Wolf Betas & 2 Heracles Betas. None of these fights should pose any difficulty. Trophy unlocks after some cutscenes.
  • Prometh: "The Revolutionist Party went to Asteria Castle. I'm keeping watch here."

Story related and cannot be missed.

You will eventually be dumped into Asteria Castle, without Stella’s Place. You will have a temporary base here to save and some other functions. When you find your way out, you will have to fight 3 Duo Lanterns & 2 Trio Lanterns & 1 Big Lantern in battle. After this battle and when you exist, there will be cutscenes and this trophy unlocks.
  • Prometh: "Magnastar has been defeated. The revolution is a success."

Story related and cannot be missed.

This unlocks upon completing the game. There will be two fights, but you will heal fully between the two fights. The first fight uses a lot of physical and magic attacks. The second fight has the boss use Star Gaze and hits everyone. You can use items and spells to prevent them from hitting the back row. Once the second fight is one, you finish the game and head to post-game.
  • Prometh: "The Ergo Valkyrie was defeated. Hats off to you, but I will keep mine on."

This is a post-game fight. After completing the game, talk in the Tavern. You will unlock a new quest, and you’ll have a new location unlocked, Asteria Castle Gates. Here, you can head to Masquerade of Arts V, and you’ll have five forced battles before you can fight Ergo Valkyrie. Ergo Valkyrie is actually easier than the final boss, but you should watch out for Star Gaze. It can reduce your Star Power, and call in for reinforcements. Once Ergo Valkyrie is defeated, this unlocks. You will also earn the Orb of Darkness, which allows you to reach level 99.
  • Prometh: "Pegasus joined the Revolutionist Party. Peg, huh...?"

Story related and cannot be missed.

After defeating Pegasus very early in the game, after some cutscenes in Stella’s Place, Pegasus joins your party and this unlocks. The battle with her is very easy, as you’re just starting the game.
  • Prometh: "Capricorn joined the Revolutionist Party. Those curls..."

Story related and cannot be missed.

In Dragonwood Park, capture all of the circles to unlock the Demon Circle. In the Demon Circle, to open doors, you have to play musical notes in order. To open the first door, select the notes Do Mi (1 and 3 statues starting from the west), and to open the second door, select the notes Re Fa (2 and 4 statues starting from the west). Defeat Capricorn and give the soul to Muse to unlock this trophy.
  • Prometh: "Libra joined the Revolutionist Party. But...I'm the glasses girl..."

Story related and cannot be missed.

Capture all of the circles in Olm Street. After defeating Libra in Olm Street, after many cutscenes, talk to Muse in Stella’s Place, and Libra will finally join.
  • Prometh: "Leo joined the Revolutionist Party. Hmm. She seems strong."

Story related and cannot be missed.

After capturing all of the circles in the first area Mausoleum of Lamps, head to the Demon Circle and fight Leo there. After defeating her, talk to Muse to have Leo join you and unlock this trophy.
  • Prometh: "Cygnus joined the Revolutionist Party. A former singing, dancing Questor."

Story related and cannot be missed.

Cygnus is the demon located in the Royal Tomb Pathway area of Mausoleum of Lamps. Claim all of the Demon Circles here and head to the Demon Circle. She can use attacks that hit the whole party, so be careful.
  • Prometh: "Centaur joined the Revolutionist Party. The new Centaur of attention…"

Story related and cannot be missed.

First, you must face her in Dragonwood Park first. She is pretty weak here. After she’s defeated, head to Plaza for some cutscenes. Now you have to found her around Asteria. These are the places you have to head to, in order:

Star Temple - Olm Street - Rune Lighthouse - Dragonwood Park - Poinee House

Now, you can enter the Demon Circle. In here, you will need to turn the masks red and interact with the green mask to reach Centaur. Once Centaur is defeated, she won’t join until after earning the Return of the Sisterly Bond trophy.
  • Prometh: "Draco joined the Revolutionist Party. Her whole body is red to begin with."

Story related and cannot be missed.

The Pirate Ship Graveyard is Draco’s domain. You must capture all circles in this area. Remember that you can’t use magic underwater, so bring non-magic based demons and healing items. However, the Demon Circle itself isn’t considered to be underwater, so you can use magic for the main boss fight. In the Demon Circle, make all masks red in order to reach Draco. She has hard hitting physical attacks, and has multiple of them that can hit multiple times. I recommend Iron Shell III to limit the damage. Also, make sure use Force Guard to prevent Draco from eliminating your buffs.

Draco won’t join you yet. She’ll join after some events in the Rune Lighthouse and after earning The Final Show.
  • Prometh: "Pavo joined the Revolutionist Party. Her feathers are pretty..."

Story related and cannot be missed.

Pavo is located in the new area of Dragonwood Dream, and her circles are located in Separation Anxiety sections. Capture all of the circles here and head to the Demon Circle once it appears. In the Demon Circle, make sure to interact with masks to make them blue, and then interact with the green mask to continue to face Pavo. Defeat Pavo and talk with Muse to unlock this.
  • Prometh: "Lepus joined the Revolutionist Party. Wassup, indeed."

Story related and cannot be missed.

Lepus’ domain is located in the Goblin Road area of 666th Avenue. After controlling all of the circles there, head to the Demon Circle. In here, you have turn all of the masks blue in order to open the way to fight Lepus. At the fight, be aware that she can change your party formation and she can also poison you. Once defeated, talk to Muse to unlock this.
  • Prometh: "Scorpio gradually joined the Revolutionist Party. How unexpected."

This is one of the three optional demons in the game.
After recovering Muse after she’s been kidnapped, head to the Showers for a scene and a new quest. The quest involves heading to Dragonwood Dream, Separation Anxiety Act 3, coordinates X12 Y06. There will be 2 waves of enemies here.
First wave has 3 beetle enemies. 2x Two-Sword Beetles and 1 Three-Sword Beetle.
Second wave you finally fight Scorpio herself. Scorpio has some fairly strong physical attacks herself, and can hit various times. After she is defeated, talk to Muse in Stella’s Place to get Scorpio to join.
  • Prometh: "Aquarius joined the Revolutionist Party. What a lush."

This is one of the three optional demons in the game.

After defeating Vulpecula and Lepus, talk in the Tavern at Stella’s Place a few times to begin the quest "Liquor Thief?" which allows you to get Aquarius. You will have to look for the Regal Sake, which is located at X05, Y18 in the Royal Tomb in the Mausoleum of Lamps. Face east and check the wall with . Aquarius fights you right here. Watch out for Star Gaze. She can put your allies to sleep. Head back to Stella’s Place as usual.
  • Prometh: "Taurus joined the Revolutionist Party. Gahaha."

Story related and cannot be missed.

Taurus is located in the new area of the Prison Pavillion, in the lower floors. Control all of the circles here and head to the Demon Circle. In the Demon Circle, you have to destroy masks in the darkness in order to challenge Taurus. Taurus likes to use physical attacks. Once defeated, talk to Muse to earn this trophy.
  • Prometh: "Canis...joined... He's more quiet than I am."

Story related and cannot be missed.

Canis is located in the Prison Pavilion, in the higher floors. Control all of the circles in this area and head to the Demon Circle. In the Demon Circle, you need to make the masks red that have a pole behind them. Once that’s complete, interact with the green mask to face Canis. Canis uses Star Gaze, so make sure to use Star Heart to block it. Once Canis is defeated, talk with Muse to earn this trophy.
  • Prometh: "Vulpecula joined the Revolutionist Party. Quite the lone wolf."

Story related and cannot be missed.

In the new area of Dragonwood Park, in the Abrupt Troubles part, you will enter Vulpecula’s domain. After controlling the circles and going into the Demon Circle, you will meet Vulpecula here, but in order to fight him, you have to play some musical notes in order. From left to right, here’s the order to play them: 3, 1, 7, 6 (The notes are: Mi Do Ti La).

He has attacks that can hit everyone, and he can also kidnap allies, so have some Fake Dolls on hand. After he is defeated, head to Muse to have him join the party.
  • Prometh: "Hydra joined the Revolutionist Party. He is a hide-and-seek pro."

Hydra is one of the three optional demons that you don’t recruit during the story line. In the Pirate Ship Graveyard, from the Magic Stone, keep heading west and eventually north, and you’ll be in Hydra’s domain. Capture all circles and defeat Hydra in the Demon Circle. While you can’t use magic underwater, you’re able to use magic in the Demon Circle and against the Hydra fight in there.
  • Prometh: "Aries joined the Revolutionist Party. So fluffy..."

Story related and cannot be missed.

Aries is located in the Old Royal Tomb area in the Mausoleum of Lamps,. Once you’ve controlled all of the circles here, you’ll head to the Demon Circle. Inside the Demon Circle, hit the masks from the second to last one on the right and go to the left. Start from X11 Y08 and hit every mask going left until X07 Y08.

Aries has Grand Cross, which is a possible instant death spell that hits all of your party (but doesn't always hit. Didn't hit me during this battle) which could theoretically wipe out your party. Also, you have to watch out for Star Gaze.
  • Prometh: "All the demons joined the Revolutionist Party. Well done."

As the trophy description says, have all demons join your party. DLC demons aren’t need for this trophy. Each demon has a trophy associated with them, but here is the list of demons for reference:

View the cutscene and at Stella's, talk in the Tavern. You need to use all 10 circles in Asteria Castle, and after that, talk to Prometh in the basement about Ergo Crystals. Talk in the tavern after some cutcenes and you will receive this sword and the trophy. After that, make sure to equip it to your Gazer and head back to the statue to fight it and continue the game.
  • Prometh: "Please collect skulls. I've prepared a special trophy for it."

This trophy is for collecting all 25 skulls in the game, and turning them in to Prometh, thus completing her quest. There are actually 26 skulls in the game, but only 25 are actually needed for the quest and trophy. Skulls are well hidden in dungeons. • Prometh: "You have been recognized as a rookie Gazer... Have you been transforming?"

This unlocks when the main character hits level 15. See Master Gazer for more information.
  • Prometh: "You have been recognized as a full-fledged Gazer… Keep performing Maintenance."

This unlocks when the main character hits level 30. See Master Gazer for more information.
  • Prometh: "You have been recognized as a master Gazer. Come on the radio show again soon."

This unlocks when the main character hits level 40, which is the level cap before defeating Ergo Valkyrie. You’ll likely finish the game around level 30. There are two ways to grind to level 40. You can head to Misrid and grind though that storyline - but you can only play on Hot difficulty or higher, which means that you can’t revive if you’re wiped out in a battle. If your equipment isn’t up to snuff, or you don’t feel confident, you can fight the forced battles in X.
