Welcome to despair filled world of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, the first English installment in the Danganronpa Series. It is a both murder mystery visual novel and a anime circled around the "Ultimate" students in Hope's Peak Academy trying to uncover the truth. Will Monokuma get the best of you and make you fall to despair or will you be the beacon of hope? That is the question.
If you're familiar with Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward for the Vita then you will notice that this game shares a very similar play style, just based more on searching for clues to who did it and Trials that get harder. The game will try to keep you on your toes by introducing you to many new things as you complete the trials, always raising the difficulty the more you advance. Patience and paying attention will be your allies in your adventure since the smallest details will aide you into figuring out who is the culprit. Try not to Despair too much! Here is a step by step guide on the best way to get yourself that Platinum.

Step 1: Clear the Main Story
First off, you need to start the game on Kind or Mean difficulty for The Color of Television and Tuned to a Dead Channel trophies. since Easy will not give you the white noise lines in the Trials. I suggest picking Mean difficultly because you'll get more white noise lines. Now just playthrough the game however you want to and enjoy the story. Build bonds with whoever you want since you won't be able to get everyone's Report Card due to the lack of time, presents and Monocoins at your disposal but getting some skills and SP will make Trials easier for you. Try saving your Monocoins and not spend too many of them since you'll need to have 999 Monocoins on you for the Nine Coins, Nine Purses, Nine Bears trophy, searching places will also sometimes net you a coin. If you're really struggling in the trials, I put the answers under the corresponding chapter to help.
There are 3 trophies you should look out for and get out of the way in the first chapter and they are:
What's a Mistrial?
Not From Concentrate
You Must Acquit
You will unlock the following trophies from Clearing the Main Story:
From Zero to Hero
One Is the Loneliest Number
Two of a Kind
Three's a Crowd
Four by Gore
Five Alive
All's Well That Ends...Umm...
Color of Television
Misc Trophies you might unlock:
The Devil Wears a High School Uniform
The Game Hungers
Rebel Without a High School Degree
Almost Almost Famous
Lost in Scanslation
The Sixth Nonsense
Psychic
Hope's Peak Confidential
Mystic Donut
Strangers in a Brain
Lovesport
The French Disconnection
Memoirs of a Fashionista
GoodFellows
Ooh, For Me?
Skilling 'Em Softly
Skill or Be Skilled
Hey, Big Spender
Tuned to a Dead Channel
After finishing the Main Story you will unlock School Mode.
Step 2: Play School Mode and Finish Report Cards
You'll need to play School Mode a total of 4 times. In your first playthrough though, your aim along with finishing up the projects will be getting all the Report Cards of the people you don't have by giving them presents which can now be bought in the main menu screen, be sure to save before trying to go back to the Main Menu or you will lose your progress. In case you're wondering what presents to give a character, they are listed under their respective Report Card trophy and also take note of what they talk about for the next step. Whatever pages you filled in the Main Story will carry over to Story Mode.
School mode is essentially Monokuma asking you to make him new bodies by using your classmates to gather materials but also at the same time keeping the place clean as you use the energy for one or the other, and in return he will give you Trip Tickets for every complete body. Make all of the Tools ASAP and food whenever you need it/have extra materials since they will make things easier for you as well, you will also get random things from Monokuma so your free to use them as well and also making/using power ups will make things easier for you in the long run. After you finish ALL the projects you will be rewarded with 200 Monocoins on the 50th day. Don't worry about the trip tickets for now. Note: If you at any time want to go back and get some trophies or coins via chapter select then don't be afraid to do so, it's also worth mentioning that if you save over your School Mode, then you will not lose your progress in it.
The following you'll unlock on the 1st School Mode Playthrough:
The Devil Wears a High School Uniform
The Game Hungers
Rebel Without a High School Degree
Almost Almost Famous
Lost in Scanslation
The Sixth Nonsense
Psychic
Hope's Peak Confidential
Mystic Donut
Strangers in a Brain
Lovesport
The French Disconnection
Memoirs of a Fashionista
GoodFellows
Mr. Know-It-All
School's Out For Summer
Skilling 'Em Softly
Skill or Be Skilled
Ghostface Skillah
Misc Trophies you might unlock:
Ooh, For Me?
Hey, Big Spender
Step 3: School Mode Ending Playthroughs
Just a quick note, the only things that carry over are your characters stats of gathering/cleaning, as all other things will be reset. Since we now have every Report Card done, we are now able to obtain the endings, so the remaining playthroughs will be focused towards getting School's Out Forever and also to obtain 999 Monocoins. Just like before, finish ALL the projects and remember those tickets? Well we will be using them this time.
Simply after every gathering/cleaning session you will be prompted to hang out with someone or by yourself, you'll want to hang out with someone. When you hang out with someone, you'll be using the Trip tickets to go to different areas and it will prompt you with 3 random options each time and you'll want to choose the best option based on your character and you'll know you get it when it says "It looks to me like he/she had a really good time". As long as you paid attention to what they said, this should be no problem to answer. In case you are worried, just save before you leave on your trip and then keep checking with Monokuma to make sure you gained 1 heart each time since you'll need a total of 10 hearts to get that character ending since he keeps track of both the hearts and whoever's ending you have obtained. For more information about the best places and answers please check School's Out Forever. The max number of endings you can get is 5 and they will happen on the 51st day after a event with Monokuma and you will know when you get the ending when you get a "special present" after talking. Just repeat this step 2 more times afterwards.
You will unlock the following trophies in this step:
School's Out Forever
Nine Coins, Nine Purses, Nine Bears
Step 4: Clean Up
You'll be aiming to get the remaining trophies in this step. Since you'll likely have 999 Monocoins now it would be a good time to get the remaining presents and buy all the Gallery items. For the Gallery and Presents trophies you can just buy all of one or the other and reload your save after to save your Monocoins since you're going to need more then 1000 Monocoins for both depending on how many presents you have need. Depending what difficulty you chose, you may need to replay a trial for more white noise lines for Tuned to a Dead Channel. Please refer to the trophies you need for more information.
You will unlock the following trophies in this step:
Hey, Big Spender
Seriously, You Shouldn't Have
Tuned to a Dead Channel
Rogue's Gallery
Despair's Last Reward
