Section 2. Introduction
Dance Dance Revolution is the first DDR game to come out on the current generation consoles. If you've been a fan of the series from the previous two console generations you'll surely notice some of the new modes and the absence of a few modes from previous versions. But this is the biggest thing of all; THE PLAYSTATION MOVE IS REQUIRED FOR THE PLATINUM. The Dance Mat, while not required, will help speed up the calorie burning trophies. So the first thing you should do is secure both items, even if you just borrow them.
Section 3. Walkthrough
Before you begin working on the main part of the game, go to the TUTORIAL MODE and play through all the lessons (Playstation Move is Required) for two trophies. Whether you've been stepping for years or are just starting this introduces you to some of the new concepts in the game.
Section 3.1 - Training Mode Trophies
There are two trophies in here, neither of which are difficult. Choose a song, tweak the options and play through the song to get both trophies.
Section 3.2 - Workout (Calorie) Trophies
These trophies will come naturally as you play the game with the Dance Pad or Playstation Move. Just set up your workout profile and play the game, you'll get these long before you get the platinum. You can speed up the calorie burn with putting your weight at maximum and abusing how the Dance Pad tracks calories.
Section 3.3 - Dance Off Trophies
There are only two trophies here, both of which are easy but a bit time consuming. DANCE OFF MODE is made to simulate having 2 or more players utilizing the same dance pad but you can perform the requirements on your own.
Section 3.4 - Club Mode Trophies
These can be some of the most time consuming trophies around. You'll need to finish a song set (4 songs minimum) with a performance capable of every rank (D, C, B, A, AA, AAA). You'll also need to perform a set list of 20 songs, a combo of 1,000 steps and manage a score of 1,000,000,000. But the most time consuming part will be maxing out the status of every (non DLC) song, which is a sizable time investment.
Section 3.5 - Playstation Move Trophies
There are only a handful of these trophies and they're relatively easy to get. Using the Playstation Move you'll go into MOVE & STEP and knock these trophies out of the way. You will need to unlock all the songs in CLUB MODE before you can obtain all of the Playstation Move trophies.
Section 3.6 - Skill Based Trophies
These can be done in either FREE PLAY MODE or MOVE & STEP, I advise choosing one mode over the other and not doing both. These are the most numerous trophies. You'll end up needing to perform 100 AAA ranks, 100 full combos, get a score of 1,000,000 at least 100 times and perform songs with handicaps set on your arrows. These will probably take some time to get but most of these can be done by playing all songs on the two easiest difficulties.
Section 3.7 - Miscellaneous Clean Up
There are a few obscure trophies here. You'll need to activate the GROOVE TRIGGER 5 times in a single song on EXPERT (or higher) difficulty, get 3 CHAIN ARROW BONUSES and export a recording of a song you played through. Most of these can be attained while going through FREE PLAY MODE or MOVE & STEP for the Skill Based Trophies, but if you missed them you can focus on them now.
