Introduction:
Dance Collider is a PS VR arcade dance and rhythm game from indie developer Emerge Worlds. The game is set in a dystopian future where an advanced AI called Uriel is in charge but there is a way of fighting back against the machine - dance-offs! You will need to hit the oncoming orbs to the beat, whether that be left hand, right hand or both. To go for higher scores you need to punch with force but trophy-wise score doesn't matter, it's a case of having your hand in the right place at the right time and that's basically all there is to it.
It's not too bad of a game - it can be a decent workout if played for long enough and the soundtrack isn't bad at all, with 45 songs (5 songs for each of the 9 enemy characters). However it is not without a few issues, some of which stick out especially badly when you have played and enjoyed similar games such as Beat Saber. The timing of the notes with the music seems a little off and there is no height calibration so you can find yourself reaching so high or so low that you are bound to either hit the ceiling, the floor, or just lose tracking while your controllers go off-camera. Also, some of the notes in certain songs seem to fail to register as being hit no matter what, and the loading times are a tad on the long side. In terms of trophies, it's a very quick, easy and simple affair. There are 11 trophies in total; 8 are for beating each of the regular characters, 2 are for unlocking and beating the boss and the final one is for clearing a stage with an unbroken streak (basically, a full combo). Given that this can be done on Easy, this isn't nearly as bad as it sounds.
Walkthrough:
Step 1: Play 10 songs spread over all 8 characters
The first thing to do for this step is beat all 8 characters for their respective trophies. Playing on Easy will make this a breeze, regardless of song choice so just pick the shortest song for each character to make the process quicker or whichever song you like the sound of the most if you want to do that. You need to play 10 songs without using "No Fail" in order to unlock Uriel. "No Fail" is turned off by default so this isn't something you need to think about. You will see a "Breach Progress" bar that rises by 10% for each song beaten so once you have played and beaten each character you will need to play 2 more songs. Who you face-off against doesn't matter. You might clear a stage with an unbroken streak here but don't worry if you don't, that will come later.
After this step you will have unlocked:
Rising Sun
Fire Starter
In a Whirl
Brash and Brazen
Royal Blood
Smack-Down
Bar Brawl
Catatonic
Breached
Step 2: Beat Uriel
The next step is to beat the final boss, Uriel. You will encounter a cutscene after beating your 10th song, after which Uriel will be selectable in the lobby. Go ahead and beat him for Lord of the Net . Funnily enough, Uriel felt easier than any of the other characters, so there is a decent chance you will get your unbroken streak here too.
After this step you will have unlocked:
Lord of the Net
Step 3: Clear a stage with an unbroken streak
There is only one trophy that you might not have at this point and that's the trophy for clearing a song with an unbroken streak. It might not even have been your fault, because the game sometimes has notes that never register as hit and there are even times where a miss is recorded and your streak broken despite the fact there were no notes on screen. Now that you have a feel for the game, you will get this no problem. I would personally recommend Mindcrusher (Uriel) or Enforcer (Dre) as these were 2 songs where I got an unbroken streak on my first play.
After this step you will have unlocked:
On Fire!
...then short and easy 100% will be yours.
