Welcome back to yet another installment in the long-running POWGI series! Crypto by POWGI is their newest addition and is, at least in my opinion, one of the best ones so far! And as we have all come to expect from Lightwood games, they've once again brought back the fun, silly puns in the trophy names! As always, if you like puzzles, you will definitely enjoy this game. Like all the others, it is a word puzzle, but this time you'll be solving quotes hidden in cryptograms! In each level, each of the letters in the alphabet is replaced with a different one, and the cryptogram changes with every level. There are 180 levels in all, but you only need to solve 32 for the Platinum, although you may find it hard to stop there! So have fun, enjoy the game, and get solving!
Although it may seem challenging at first, the puzzles aren't too hard. Each level, named after a well-known public figure, contains a quote from that person and is generally about two sentences long. Each letter will be blank and will have a different letter underneath, but as it's a cryptogram, every letter in the alphabet has been switched for a different letter and it is your job to decipher it. When you input the letters, the game will cross out each letter you've already used, making it easier for you to see what remains. However, that does not necessarily mean that your answers were correct. Although there are no hints or clues in this game, you are able to check if your answers are correct by pressing and together. It won't tell you which letters are incorrect but will tell you how many of them are. You do have one other option, though – if you choose, you can press Fix which, although it won't correct them, will erase the invalid letters.
It is one of the more unique POWGI games as trophy lists go because it is the first one that does not contain any extra, unique trophies regarding certain words or actions. In this case, every single trophy is just for completing that level. Because of that, you are free to use as many checks and fixes as you wish. Although there are no difficulty levels, there are 12 pages with 15 levels in each, which means that it has a staggering total of 180 levels! But as mentioned above, you only need to complete 32 of them, spread out over all 12 pages.
TIP: Press or when in the select screen to cycle through the list of puzzles. If you decide to only do the trophy-related levels, just be aware that the game has an annoying tendency to take you back to whichever page contains the earliest blank or incomplete level every time you exit out to the menu/level select. Meaning that you will be returned to the very first page every time you finish a level, even if you were on page 12.
The only step there is! Simply play each of the 32 levels specified in the guide below until you've unlocked all of the trophies. If you'd rather solve the puzzles yourself instead of following this guide, look under the Platinum trophy Code Dependent for some tips to help you along the way.
