Clockwork Tales: Of Glass and Ink ~ Platinum Walkthrough (Text/Video)

Clockwork Tales: Of Glass and Ink is a point-and-click detective adventure game that includes some puzzle and minigame solving elements in this steampunk word. The story is about how strange earthquakes are causing the world’s cities to crumble into ruin. Dr. Ambrose Ink hopes to discover the cause of this phenomenon but he needs the assistance of his longtime friend, Agent Evangeline Glass. The heroine will have to storm Barber's Castle to find out the truth and stop the cataclysm.

Trophy wise, the trophy list is very simple and half of it is story related trophies with the remaining half being missable collectibles trophies or missable miscellaneous trophies. There is no Chapter Select or Manual Save feature for this game but the game does Autosave everything that you do. You only need 1 playthrough if you choose to play Evangeline's Story on Expert Difficulty. While you're playing through the game, focus your attention on collecting all 30 steambugs, talking to everyone at the Gearwheel Inn, completing at least one Hidden Object scene without making a mistake and never skipping on any minigames while you're solving them. Afterwards you will only have one thing left to do, which will be for finishing the bonus chapter.

I highly recommend that you follow a walkthrough so you can reduce the completion time to 2-3 hours. Using a walkthrough will enable you to obtain all missable trophies with step-by-step instructions that will make sure you get the Platinum Trophy in a single playthrough.

Step 1: Complete Evangeline's Story on Expert Difficulty while obtaining all missable trophies

This is the first step towards obtaining the Platinum Trophy. You will want to Start a new game on Evangeline's Story and select "Expert Difficulty." Completing Evangeline's Story on Expert Difficulty will also unlock the Undercover Agent trophy, which is for completing the game on "Normal Difficulty". As mentioned in the Introduction section, starting on "Expert Difficulty" will enable you to obtain the Platinum Trophy in only 1 playthrough.

During your initial playthrough, there are a few things that you need to keep in mind. These things are all related towards the 8 missable trophies:

  1. There are 2 trophies (No Skipping & The Challenge ) related towards solving and finishing all minigames without skipping. This means you must play the game without using or pressing the button for "Hint/Skip" option whenever it's charged. If you do press the button (during a minigame), you will void the The Challenge trophy from unlocking if you selected "Ok" when asked "Are you sure you want to skip". It's best to never press the button on the D-pad while you're playing through the game.
  2. Talk to everyone at the Gearwheel Inn near the start of the game. There will only be two opportunities to when you need to talk to everyone at Gearwheel Inn (People Person ).
  3. Complete at least one Hidden Object scene without more than a single mistake. You have only 13 different chances to obtain this trophy (Marksman ).
  4. Find and pick up all 30 steambugs throughout the entire game. This will give you all 4 collectible related trophies:
    • First of Many
    • Entomologist
    • Master Debugger
    • Catch Them All

The above might seem like a lot of tasks but if you're using a Walkthrough while you're playing through the game at the same time, you will obtain all story related and missable trophies within a single playthrough.

At the end of this step, you should have the following trophies:

First of Many
Marksman
Amongst Bugs
People Person
Hello, Birdie
No Skipping
Too Many Legs
Entomologist
Gliding Over All
Master Debugger
Even Deeper
My Savior
Catch Them All
The Challenge
World Owes You
Spy Master
Undercover Agent

Step 2: Complete Ink's Story on any Difficulty

Ink's Story is a prequel to the game's main story. In order to unlock Ink's Story, you must first finish Evangeline's Story. Thankfully, the best thing about Ink's Story is that its story related and has no other trophies to worry about. Not only that but you can select any Difficulty Playing Mode you want. In order to unlock the trophy in the shortest amount of time possible; I recommend starting on "Normal Difficulty" and following the Walkthrough.

At the end of this step, you should have the following trophies:

Prequel
Platinum

Step 3: Evangeline's Story Cleanup

This is an optional step, if you've missed any trophies during Evangeline's Story. There is no Chapter Select so you will have to play through Evangeline's Story again until you get whatever you have missed.

  • Complete a HO scene without more than a single mistake.

    (Missable!)

This trophy is for completing a HO scene without more than a single mistake. First of all, HO is the abbreviation of "Hidden Object" and during these scenes you need to find items/parts in order to proceed with the story. There are a total of 13 Hidden Object scenes in Evangeline's Story. These items are shown within a blue box at the bottom on your screen but they are all hidden within the image above that blue box. These aren't difficult to complete especially if you're using a Walkthrough. In the walkthrough, there are about 4/13 Hidden Object scenes that I personally circled for you to point-and-click on. Simply copy those images and the trophy will unlock for you after completing the Hidden Object scene, providing you didn't make more than a single mistake.

Here is some more additionally information about Hidden Object scenes:

    • Hidden Object scenes have no time limits
    • You can only make one single mistake and the trophy will still count but more than 2 mistakes during any Hidden Object scene will void the trophy from unlocking after completing it.
    • Make sure you're hovering over the items correctly or it might not register what you clicked on exactly, causing you to make a mistake.
    • Some Hidden Object scenes are the same for everyone who plays the game.
    • Some Hidden Object scenes are randomized and the walkthrough cannot help you complete those.
    • This trophy cannot be obtained during Ink's Story.
  • Complete the game on Normal Difficulty.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

Please see Spy Master for more information.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

This trophy is for completing Ink's Story, which is a Bonus Chapter. Ink's Story is a prequel to the game's main story. In order to unlock Ink's Story you must first finish Evangeline's Story.
