Introduction:
Chronovolt is a unique puzzle game that gives you the power to control time. You have to roll a ball known as a Chronosphere around the levels seeking the exit, all the while collecting Chronovolts - the source for your ability to control time. The game features 27 levels across three worlds, all of which will require you to collect all the Chronovolts and complete the level quickly.

Overall, the trophies for the game are quite easy. Simply completing all the levels will net you most of the trophies, with the rest being for collecting all 81 stars, beating a friend's challenge online and performing a few miscellaneous tasks. These tasks can be completed with little effort, especially given you'll have a decent understanding of the game after completing it once.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Complete the game and find all the Chronovolts
First of all, you'll want to simply go through the game and complete all the levels, collecting the Chronovolts in each level as you go. Through doing this, you'll learn the basics of the game and how to control time, which will be valuable information when attempting the Target Times for each level. While playing the game, try and use each of your three time abilities 20 times for Time Manipulator Extraordinaire, as well as making sure you take the time to kill a Chaser from a great distance in Level 8 of World 1. This will be necessary for Sniper.

As of Patch 1.01, the two Chronovolts in the final level are no longer glitched in the PAL version. The NTSC version was fixed pre-release, so this no longer affects anyone, as long as the game is up to date.

Upon completing Step 1, you will earn:

Explorer
Keen Explorer
Sniper
Keymaster
Time Manipulator Extraodinaire

Step 2: Complete the Target Times for each level
Now that you've finished the game, you'll want to go back through the 27 levels and complete their respective Target Times. These aren't especially difficult, with only a few that are known to cause issues. Something to note while attempting these is that a vast majority of the doors in the game can actually be rolled around, meaning you won't need to collect the required keys to get through. This makes some of the Target Times trivial, so if you're having difficulty with any of the Target Times, then you want to consider attempting this method. Do note that it doesn't work for every door, so you'll have to complete some levels legitimately.

Glitch Warning: If you earn all the stars in World 3 prior to World 1 and World 2, Perfectionist will more than likely glitch on you. It is unknown why this occurs, but it appears the only fix is to delete your save data and start again. For this reason, it is highly recommended you complete the Worlds in order.

Upon completing Step 2, you will earn:

Starlet
Super Star
Perfectionist

Step 3: Beat a friend's challenge
Lastly, all you have to do is beat a challenge that anyone on your friend list has issued you. This is an incredibly simple task that should only take a few moments to complete. Please refer to Show Them for how to do this.

Upon completing Step 3, you will earn:

9 trophies ( 2  )

  • Unlocked World 2.

In order to unlock this, you must complete all 9 levels in World 1, as well as the first level of World 2. With Patch 1.01 installed, you do not have to complete the first level of World 2, as the trophy will unlock as it should.

  • Unlocked World 3.

In order to unlock this, you must complete all 9 levels in World 2, as well as the first level of World 3. With Patch 1.01 installed, you do not have to complete the first level of World 3, as the trophy will unlock as it should.

  • Completed World 1 with all the stars.

Each level has three stars that can be obtained: one for completing it, one for collecting all the Chronovolts and one for beating the Target Time. The former two can easily be obtained through natural progression, however the last may take some time and effort to achieve.

The only level of World 1 that is particularly difficult is Level 8. What you'll want to do for this level is immediately roll down the ramp and head right across the bridges to grab the first key. As soon as the bridges line up again, head back across and try not to waste Chronovolts or time by freezing them. When across, bypass the two Chasers, then head up the far ramp towards the second key. Now what you want to do is freeze the first moving platform so that it is below the second one, as this will allow you to grab the key before rolling onto the first one and moving on. The below image demonstrates this:

With the key in hand, roll across the two moving platforms and drop down to the lower level, following this path:

Alternatively, you can simply reverse time once you pick up the key to move back before dropping down. If you have enough Chronopower to rewind time, then this'll likely save a few valuable seconds. Thanks to discdocx for mentioning this.

Once you're back on the lower level, head left and go through the two doors. With luck, you'll be under 00:42:000 and achieve the Target Time star. Unfortunately you cannot use the door glitch on this level to bypass the doors without the keys.

  • Completed World 2 with all the stars.

Each level has three stars that can be obtained: one for completing it, one for collecting all the Chronovolts and one for beating the Target Time. The former two can easily be obtained through natural progression, however the last may take some time and effort to achieve.

The only level of World 2 that is particularly difficult is Level 7. As soon as you start, drop off the side to grab the first key and reverse time to get back to the start. Follow the path set out for you until you reach the section with the four locked rooms. In order to successfully get through each of these doors, you'll have to make sure you freeze every collapsible floor before you roll over it, otherwise you won't be able to get back across. The image below demonstrates this:

Here is an image showing which order you must access the rooms:

Once you have the final key from Room 4, head outside and follow this path to skip about 20 seconds of the level:

With that, simply follow the path to the end, making sure the two Chasers near the exit don't knock you off.

  • Got all the stars.

    Glitched.

Note: There is an exploit in the game - the door exploit - that allows you to actually roll around some doors, meaning you won't need to collect the required keys to get through. This makes some of the Target Times trivial, so if you're having difficulty with any of the Target Times, then you may want to consider attempting this method. Each level has three stars that can be obtained: one for completing it, one for collecting all the Chronovolts and one for beating the Target Time. The former two can easily be obtained through natural progression, however the last may take some time and effort to achieve.

Given the simple nature for a vast majority of these Target Times, I will not write methods for completing all levels. Instead, I'll provide a few tips that may help for all levels:

Don't use your abilities if you don't need to: Using your abilities takes precious Chronovolts and more importantly, precious time. Only use your powers if you absolutely have to.

Skip areas: Due to the poor level design, entire sections of some levels can be skipped. These are primarily on levels with several floors where you can drop from one floor to the next and completely skip sections.

Get a good camera angle: The camera can be troublesome at times, which can often result in you falling to your death. Find a good camera angle that works for you and stick with it.

Using the door exploit, doors in the following levels can easily be bypassed without a key:

    World 1 - B'ak'tun 13

    • Level 6
    • Level 7 - Final Door

World 2 - Book of Changes

    • Level 1
    • Level 4 - First Door
    • Level 5 - Final Door
    • Level 6
    • Level 9 - Final Door

    World 3 - Nibiru Collision

    • Level 3
    • Level 6
    • Level 7
    • Level 8

In the vanilla PAL version of the game, two of the Chronovolts in the final level were glitched, which made them hard to obtain. As of January 31st 2013, the game has been patched and this is no longer and issue. As long as you have the game up to date, you shouldn't have any issues obtaining all the Chronovolts.

  • Taken out a Chaser from a great distance.

Chasers are the big enemy balls that try knock you off the levels. In order to do this, you'll need to use your Time Shot (double tap on a Chaser) from across the map. The best level to do this on is Level 8 of World 1. First, head across the bridge to stock up on Chronovolt energy:

Once you have plenty of energy, head down to where the first key is, then double tap on the Chasers until you destroy the farthest Chaser:

At this distance, the trophy will unlock.

  • Opened 50 doors.

As you play through the game, you'll encounter doors that require keys to open. These keys are scattered throughout the respective levels. Simply playing through the game normally will net you this trophy. Do note that if you frequently use the door glitch, you may not receive this before every other trophy.

  • Beaten a friend.

To beat a friend, you must first have them send you a challenge. To do that, they must play a level and then click on the flag symbol from the Results Screen:

Doing this will send a challenge to you. Simply accept their challenge, then beat the time. The best level to do this is Level 1 of World 1, as it will only take a few seconds to complete. Make sure that when you do it, your friend sets a time that is easily beatable - anything over 10 seconds for the first level is good.

If you need to find a boosting partner, please see the Trophy Boosting Thread.

  • Use each power 20 times.

In the first four levels of the game, you'll be taught how to use the three Chronosphere powers: Stop Time, Rewind Time and Time Shot. As you play through the game, use these powers as frequently as you can until the trophy unlocks. Chances are you'll get it without realising.

Stop Time: Tap/hold any moving object on the Vita touchscreen.
Rewind Time: Hold two corners of the Vita touchscreen.
Time Shot: Double tap enemy Chasers on the Vita touchscreen.
