Introduction

Welcome to Cast of the Seven Godsends, a 2D side-scrolling action & platform game developed by Raven Travel Studios. The trophy list is a really easy and fast one, however this game is notorious for its bugs which affect trophy-popping: as of the 1.03 update, trophies will stop popping if you quit to the main menu and after you finish a playthrough, since the game will automatically quit to the main menu in that case. In order to solve this issue, close the game app whenever you or the game quit to the main menu and reboot it. If done correctly, trophies will start popping normally once again. There was an instance when trophies weren’t popping even after rebooting the game, which I think happens if you are the one quitting to the main menu and not after clearing the last level: if this happens to you, the only solution is to delete the game’s save data from your PS4 and start anew.

This annoyance aside, most trophies are story-related and can be obtained easily on Easy or Normal (the difficulty can be changed in the options found in the main menu) and the only trophy that can pose little trouble is OLD_SCHOOL , which requires to clear the last level on Retrogamer difficulty.

Walkthrough

Step 1: Start the game on Easy and kill the last boss while wearing the Earth Armor

At the very beginning of the game, take care of ADAPTATION and all of the Armor-related trophies (except for DIVINE BLOOD ) right away. After these trophies pop, repeat the same methods for both until you get a Sword (the best weapon in the game) and the Ice Armor, whose attacks are very damaging and fast when equipped with a Sword. When you reach “The Dark Cellars”, do not forget to save via the Pause menu!

After getting FIRST_SON , get killed by the last boss so that all armor drops in the level respawn and you can get the Earth Armor and finish the game with it to obtain ENDING_EARTH . I also recommend doing this playthrough in one sitting to avoid potential trophy glitches.

After this step, you should have:

PUNISHING_PLAGUES
WIND_DOMINUS
COLD_ICE
MOTHER_EARTH
SPARK
BURNING_SOUL
ADAPTATION
ROCK_BREAKER
YOU_SHALL_NOT_PASS
ICE_BREAKER
DRAGON_KILLER
TOWER_CRUSHER
DONT_COME_BACK
DEFEATED_NEMESIS
FIRST_SON
BEAST_TAMER
SECOND SON
ENDING_EARTH

Step 2: Play the last level on Normal to finish it with the Black Armor equipped and then play it again to clear it on Retrogamer difficulty while wearing the Fire Armor

After clearing Step 1, reboot the game and change the difficulty to Normal in the main menu, then load up the save from the last level and clear it with the Black Armor on for DEMONIC_FURY . After that, reboot the game once again and set the difficulty to Retrogamer. Load up the same save and clear the last level with the Fire Armor on so that you can gain both OLD_SCHOOL and ENDING_FIRE at once. In case the last boss destroys your armor but you still manage to kill him, play the level again on Easy to finish it with the Fire Armor on without too much struggle.

After this step, you should have:

DIVINE BLOOD
DEMONIC_FURY
OLD_SCHOOL
ENDING_FIRE
PLATINUM WARRIOR

23 trophies ( 8  )

  • Unlock all other trophies

If you are lucky enough to avoid the trophies glitching out on you, this Platinum will be an almost effortless and quick one.

  • Get the plagues armor

In order to get a special armor, you first need to be equipped with the normal armor, which is found by breaking blue pots that appear throughout the game. Once equipped with the normal armor, break another blue pot to find an orb. Pick it up and hold : you should see some elemental icons popping above your character’s head in a cycle: when you release , you will be equipped with the armor whose elemental icon was on the screen when you release .

The fastest way to get all the armor-related trophies (except DIVINE BLOOD ) is to start the game on any difficulty level and, at the beginning of the first level, jump into the hard-to-notice small crevice on the left wall to make a blue pot drop; break it to equip yourself with the normal armor and, a few seconds later, the game will drop another blue pot. Smash it and choose any armor you haven’t previously equipped to get the respective trophy (in this case, choose the dark purple icon for the plagues armor).

Just a few seconds later into the level, the game will drop a small yellow pot that contains a weapon, which I recommend breaking for ADAPTATION so that you can work on this trophy at the same time too. After breaking the small yellow pot, drop down the nearby hole in the ground to die and respawn at the beginning of the level. Repeat the same method over and over until you get all the special armors and weapons.

  • Get the wind armor

The wind armor’s icon is white-ish and has the “shape” of a gust of wind (hard to explain but easy to recognize). Refer to PUNISHING_PLAGUES for more info on how to get all special armors except the black one.

  • Get the ice armor

The ice armor’s icon is light blue and has the shape of water/ice. Refer to PUNISHING_PLAGUES for more info on how to get all special armors except the black one.

  • Get the earth armor

The earth armor’s icon is dark green and supposedly resembles some leaves. Refer to PUNISHING_PLAGUES for more info on how to get all special armors bar except black one.

  • Get the lightning armor

The lightning armor’s icon is blue-ish and has the shape of a lightning strike. Refer to PUNISHING_PLAGUES for more info on how to get all special armors except the black one.

  • Get the fire armor

The fire armor’s icon is red and easily recognisable. Refer to PUNISHING_PLAGUES for more info on how to get all special armors except the black one.

  • Use every weapon in a round

Weapons are found by smashing the yellow small pots through the game. Some of them always reward you with weapons, while others always reward you with nearly useless items or points. For this trophy, you need to collect all weapons in one playthrough. You can die and Continue as many times as you want while working on this trophy but I’m pretty sure that closing the game would reset the progress towards this trophy even if you saved your progress before quitting.

In order to get this trophy early on and very easily, follow the method under PUNISHING_PLAGUES : start the first level, reach the first small yellow pot (which always contains a weapon), die by falling into the nearby hole and repeat until the trophy pops. There are 5 different weapons and you start with the daggers by default, which means you need to get the other 4 weapons before the trophy pops.

After getting this trophy, I recommend grabbing a sword and moving on with your playthrough, as the sword does a lot of damage and can deflect various enemy attacks.

  • Kill the second level boss

The boss at the end of the second level is an easy one. Only the upper part of his body can be damaged and his attacks are fairly simple to dodge. When he slams his foot onto the ground, he will create a sort of shockwave that comes towards you and is avoided by jumping over it. He can also summon spikes from above to fall randomly over you but they are easy to predict and dodge. When he crouches, he will launch some lava boulders one after the other and once again you can avoid them by jumping over them. Make sure you damage him a lot while he’s crouched. The trophy will pop as soon as he dies.

  • Kill the third mid level boss

This boss is found midway through the third level and it’s a sort of huge fire demon. This time around, his attacks can be a little complicated to dodge and you also fight on some pillars from where you can drop down to your death if you are not careful. You need to hit his head to damage him and it’s more easily done with ranged weapons, preferably daggers, or even better with special armors. If you enter the fight with the Ice armor + sword, the boss will die almost right away to your normal attacks without a chance to retaliate, otherwise I suggest placing yourself on the pillar closer to his head and throwing daggers as fast as you can to quickly end the fight, even if you get hit in the process. You can also be conservative and jump over his flames (they can be hard to predict) and dodge the green balls but that will make the fight longer and you risk falling down and dying. The trophy will pop as soon as he dies.

  • Kill the third level boss

The boss at the end of the third level is very easy if you just go left, stand on the upper platform and attack him from there. If you have a sword and/or a special armor (preferably fire or ice), the fight will end quickly and you won’t likely be damaged at all. The trophy will pop as soon as he dies.

  • Kill the fourth level boss

The boss at the end of the fourth level is a troublesome one and you want to kill it prematurely before he starts flying away and towards you like crazy. The best set-up would be to enter the fight with the Ice Armor + sword and he will die quite quickly at the beginning if you spam your attack fast enough, otherwise you’ll have to rely on the blocks surrounding the arena and get at the same height of the boss and damage it with ranged weapons, while also dodging contact damage and other attacks. The trophy will pop as soon as it dies.

  • Kill the fifth level boss

The boss at the end of the fifth level is easy enough. He can hit you with his hammer if you go close to him but it can be dodged by jumping at the right time. After dodging it, climb onto the hammer to do some damage to the upper part of his body. When he uses his shield, he’s going to throw a lot of green balls your way which can be deflected if you have a sword, otherwise you’ll have to dodge as best as you can. When he kneels and charges, make sure you damage him as much as you can and, after a while, retreat and jump to avoid a green bigger ball. The trophy will pop as soon as he dies.

  • Kill the mage once for all

The mage is found midway through the first level. He is easy enough to defeat and there is actually a trick that makes the fight even easier: if you have daggers equipped or have a special armor on (even better if it has a wide-range spell), you can go to the left rock platform from where you came from and the only attack that will be able to hit you there is the green spheres one, which is easy to dodge by jumping over them or by abusing i-frames from a spell if you are wearing a special armor. It’ll take a while to rack up damage from this platform but eventually he will die.

If you don’t have a ranged weapon nor a special armor, you’ll have to fight him on his green platform and dodge his attacks, which is still easy enough. He will die quicker but you might get damaged during the fight. The trophy will pop as soon as he dies.

  • Kill Antirad once for all

Antirad is the hardest boss in the game and to make things worse you meet him 3 times throughout the game. This trophy will pop after beating him for the third time. He likes moving around in unpredictable ways and either slashing you with his sword or throwing daggers at you.

The first time you fight him is probably the hardest one: do your best to enter the fight with the sword or with the Ice Armor + sword, as the sword can deflect his daggers. Slash him a few times and get away before he retaliates with his own sword. The area you fight him in is small and jumping over him will be annoying as he jumps around a lot which will likely cause contact damage.

The second time you fight him is the easiest one: you have a lot of room to maneuver and dodge him, plus if you are lucky enough he may start jumping on platforms above you while you attack him with daggers from below: this method keeps you safe from his sword attacks and you will only have to dodge his daggers. Just be careful if he happens to drop down where you are and try to lure him on the above platforms again to repeat this method, otherwise you can carefully damage him while dodging his attacks.

The third time is similar to the second: you will fight him near the end of the first part of the sixth level and you can try the same method from the second fight once again. If you need visual reference for this strategy, refer to the video under OLD_SCHOOL (the last fight against Antirad starts at 4:02).

  • Kill Lord Adomon

Adomon is found at the end of the sixth level just before the final boss. If you are on a lower difficulty level, he will likely fall almost right away if you spam attacks to his face quickly at the very beginning of the fight, otherwise the fight may drag on for a while.

To avoid the 2 green balls easily, stay close enough to him (but not too close) and they should go by without needing to move your character. This attack is also a great occasion to damage him. When he floats around, you can either dodge all the time if you haven’t a sword or if you have one you can deflect the red bullets and get close to his face for some damage. As long as you are careful, he isn’t a hard boss. The trophy will pop as soon as he dies. If you need visual reference, watch the video under OLD_SCHOOL (the fight starts at 9:19).

  • Kill the first level boss

The boss at the end of the first level is easy enough. He launches a fire ball every time he glows red while walking towards you. Dodge the ball by jumping over it. At some point, he will stop casting the balls and prepare for charging you. The charge is easily dodged by jumping over the boss, just be careful not to go too much to the right, otherwise he will hit you when he bounces back after he finishes his charge. He can be damaged by hitting the upper part of his body and you do a lot of damage when he is preparing his charge. The trophy will pop as soon as he dies.

  • Kill Numanir the priest

Numanir is the last boss of the sixth level. The first phase is the harder one: he floats around and he charges you really fast. This charge can be hard to dodge therefore your best bet for this phase is to abuse i-frames with a special armor’s spell. If you reach him without a special armor and you are not playing on Retrogamer, let him kill you to make the blue pots respawn
in the level and backtrack to the 2 closest ones to get the special armor you want.

The second phase is easier and if you are playing on Easy he will die almost right away; if you are playing on Retrogamer, he will float around and throw some green balls which are easier to dodge than the charge of the first phase, although you must be careful when jumping around to damage him. If you still have the special armor on, you can try to spam its spell to abuse i-frames and damage him; if not, take it slow while damaging him and be ready to jump at the right time to dodge his attack. The trophy will pop as soon as he dies. If you need visual reference, watch the video under OLD_SCHOOL (the fight starts at 9:50).

  • Get the black armor

In order to get the black armor, you need to play on at least Normal difficulty. Even if it’s easy to get this armor in the first level, it’s in your best interest to get it in the sixth level when going for DEMONIC_FURY .

Whenever you start a playthrough, move onto a new level or die, you should be brought to a screen that says the name of the level you are in and has 3 elemental armors’ icons: to get the black armor, you need to first get the 3 armors in the order they appeared in that screen. When you choose the first special armor, pick the one represented by the leftmost icon and after that keep on smashing blue pots to get the remaining 2 armors (the game will equip you with the next 2 armors automatically when you smash blue pots if your current armor wasn’t broken by enemy attacks, otherwise you will have to remember the 2 remaining icons and choose the armor accordingly after smashing 2 more blue pots for each new special armor). Note that while you are working on this you cannot die, as that will reset the progress towards the black armor. Also keep in mind that, after getting the first special armor and if the enemies don’t break it, you will need to smash more than 2 blue pots to get the 2 remaining armors, as for some reason they may also drop items instead of armors. After getting the third required armor, break one more blue pot to finally get the black armor along with this trophy.

The easiest way to get it in the sixth level is to reach the last boss on Normal difficulty, let him kill you to make the blue pots respawn, backtrack through the level, while breaking all blue pots and taking care not to get damaged by enemies and hazards, and get the black armor. If you want to see this method in action, refer to the video under DEMONIC_FURY .

  • Reach level 7

In order to reach the seventh hidden level of the game, you need to reach the sixth level’s last boss with the black armor equipped, which means you need to play on at least Normal difficulty. Keep in mind what has been said under DIVINE BLOOD and refer to the following video if you are having trouble:

  • Finish the game with the earth armor

This can be accomplished on Easy by reaching the sixth level’s last boss and let it kill you (if you don’t have the armor already equipped) to make the blue pots respawn and backtrack to the 2 closest ones to get the earth armor. Kill Numanir with the earth armor equipped and the trophy will pop. If he destroys your armor before you manage to dispose of him, simply let him kill you again and repeat the process.

  • Finish the game at Retrogamer difficult level

Retrogamer features enemies and bosses with more health and, most importantly, there are no checkpoints (except for the ones midway through each level). While this may sound intimidating, this trophy can be cheesed by reaching “The Dark Cellars” on Easy, saving here via the Pause menu and changing the difficulty to Retrogamer in the main menu. The trophy will still pop even though you will only complete the sixth level, which is easy enough after a few attempts and thanks to the many blue pots along the way.

If you are having trouble clearing the sixth level on Retrogamer, refer to the following video:

  • Finish the game with the fire armor
