Introduction:

On its surface, Call of the Sea is a well crafted exploration game with unique puzzles but there's far more going on than meets the eye and what unfolds over six chapters is a surprisingly engaging story. There's a fun mix of trophies here and if you're thorough you won't have much in the way of cleanup after the fact, making for one of the more enjoyable short Platinums I've played in recent memory.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Complete the game, exploring each area throroughly for puzzle notes, logs and murals

The goal here should just be to make it through the game, making as little work for yourself as possible on the subsequent playthrough.

Completing this step will earn you the following trophies:

35 trophies ( 11  19  16  )

  • You have unlocked all trophies

Congratulations on your newest Platinum trophy.
  • Complete the Prologue.

Collect your things from around the room, open the case on the table (the code is 506) and when the captain tells you it's time to go, interact with the door.
  • Complete Chapter 1.

Get through the first door by finding the box that fits your key, then following the instructions. Next, you'll have to solve your first puzzle. Explore the area to find 5 unu with symbols that correspond to fish, water, birds, mountains and the sun. Once you've found all five, return to the pillar near the water where you can enter the symbols. From top to bottom, the code is Sun, Bird, Mountain, Sea, Fish.

  • Complete Chapter 2.

Explore all of the abandoned tents including the one near the grave and the two up by the waterfall. You'll find a plate that will fix the elevator, use it and continue exploring until you head down the ladder. Interact with the three eyes that whisper to get a series of shapes. Continue on the new path to return to Harry's tent. Interact with the machine on the table and use the three sets of dots on the lens, then use the new lens on the telescope. Finally, return to the well with the eyes and draw the constellation shape on the floor, starting with the gold button near where you enter.

  • Play an ancient instrument.

    Story-related, can't be missed

You will complete this as part of completing chapter 3.
  • Complete Chapter 3.

Head inside the ship to restore the power, then explore the tents on the beach and turn the power on for the cave. Play every note on the little piano instrument, flip through each of the slides on the slide machine and interact with the lunar calendar on the wall. Next, head back to the beach and go right, following the path until you reach the well.

Scattered around the well are a series of hidden buttons, you want to check all of them and make sure only three of them are in the up position: the two triangles on top of each other, the small diamond inside the larger diamond, then the two small diamonds inside the large diamond. The rest of the buttons should be in the down position. Next, head to the device right in front of the well and make sure the black circle is selected. Finally, turn around and interact with the device behind you to play the instrument and create a bridge.

  • Get to your house in Englewood, Colorado.

    Story-related, can't be missed

You will complete this halfway through completing chapter 4.
  • Complete Chapter 4.

Explore the top of the mountain thoroughly, taking care to interact with the four large pillars with murals on them (one of them has been tipped over). Head towards the big stone door and on one of the steps you'll find a white drawing of a diamond, interact with it. In your journal, you'll find the four symbols and pictures of the four murals, with one symbol in each mural. You want to click on the corresponding button under each mural, using the diamond image to determine which button to push.

Next you'll need to restart the generator, head to the turbine and on the back side are three rotating discs. One at a time, rotate the discs until one of the dots is at the bottom of the circle, then head around the front and pull the corresponding lever. Do this three times to restart the power, then pull the nearby switches. Head back to the tents near the stone door and pull the two switches, one in the tent and one up the ladder. After you've left the house, return to the stone door and flip the final switch and interact with the microphone.

On the other side of the stone door, interact with the murals as you head through the passageway, then head up top. Interact with the murals and any info on the walls or nearby papers. From left to right, the white diamond under each mural needs to be in the following positions: Up, Right, Down, Down. Head through the door and repeat the pattern on the drums to end the chapter.

  • Venture through an unknown passage.

    Story-related, can't be missed

You will complete this after entering the water for the first time in Chapter 5.
  • Complete Chapter 5.

Head through the level using the purple gates until you reach a panel you have to interact with. There are two buttons on either side and a button in the center. The center button controls the direction of the current and you need to press the other two buttons, timing them so that the liquid reaches the center from both sides at the same time. Continue through the level until you reach the large open area.

Explore all of the nearby huts, ignoring the stone pillars you'll find scattered throughout the area. Once you've looked everywhere, head down near the big mural on the wall to find a pillar that has hand paintings all over it. Learn all five, then head back to the start. Now you want to interact with the stone pillars based on the hand paintings they are closest to. Use the following order: White, Orange, Red, Green, Purple. After pressing all five, the pillars where you found the hand paintings will drop into the water so head down and interact with the device there.

Now that you're underwater, you'll need to change the current of several gates. Your goal is to end up near the sea floor so use the panels to change them, then head up near the surface, where you'll find a device that looks like an altar where you can interact with one corner of it. This will open a secret passage, then use the current gates to reach it before the door shuts.

Make your way through the caves, interacting with the gates and switches until you find the camp. Interact with everything and then head back down the ladder and on your right is one more panel puzzle. Press each of the buttons in clockwise order starting from the top, waiting a few seconds in between.

  • Use the ritual dagger.

    Story-related, can't be missed

You will complete this after entering the temple in Chapter 6.
  • Complete Chapter 6.

Make sure to interac with everything on either side of the beach, including the tattoo machine to your right and everything at the base of the stairs before heading inside. There will be two levers needed to put the four rings in place, which will allow you to create constellations to enter the four doors.

For the constellation puzzles, we'll always use the eye on the floor as your frame of reference and the four rings will be referred to as closest left, furthest left, closest right and furthest right, with the buttons on each ring being labeled 1-5.

For the first door, on the closest left ring press the 4th button and on the furthest right ring press the 4th button. Head inside, get another tattoo and return to the hub area.

For the second door, reset the furthest right ring so no buttons are pushed, on the closest left ring press the 5th button and on the closest right ring press the 5th button. Head inside for another tattoo.

For the third door, on the closest left ring press the 2nd button, on the closest right ring press the 4th button and on the furthest right ring press the 2nd button. Head inside for another tattoo.

For the fourth door, reset the closest right ring so no buttons are pushed, on the closest left ring press the 5th button, on the furthest left ring press the 4th button and on the furthest right ring press the 5th button.

Next you'll need to solve a puzzle using a series of switches to move statues. Start by moving the closest black statue so that it's facing down and to the right, then the furthest right black statue is facing left. Press the far right button and follow the new path to another set of buttons. Next, you want the sets of white statues to be facing the front and back of the room, then the solo white statue to be facing left. Press the far right button again, then return to the start of the room. Finally, turn the statue closest to you so that it's now facing down and left and press the far right button to make a path to the tattoo machine.

Back at the hub room, on the closest left ring press the 5th button, on the closest right ring press the 4th button, on the furthest left ring press the 1st button and on the furthest right ring press the 3rd button.
  • Complete the Game.

After entering the throne room in Chapter 6, you'll eventually find your way to your house and will be given two options. Choose one and follow the path until you reach the end of the game.
  • Find 25% of the story logs.

  • Find 50% of the story logs.

  • Find all the story logs.

The story logs are anything the Norah finds interesting enough to write down in her notebook, plus your progress in each chapter can be tracked through the Chapter Selection menu. You shouldn't have too much trouble with this as long as you're throrough and inspect everything you come across before moving on but there are a few tricky ones (the symbols above the tents in Chapter 2, everything outside of the temple in Chapter 6). If you're struggling, here is a guide that should walk you through everything you're missing (credit to Hanni): LINK
  • Collect all the puzzles notes.

As part of completing the game's puzzles, you will be tasked with writing down symbols and other clues found throughout the environment. As long as you're being throrough prior to completing each puzzle, you should get this without trying but you should be able to confer with the notebook and if there are any gaps, you're missing a puzzle clue.
  • Find all the murals on the island.

The murals are typically enormous wall paintings found throughout the game that can be interacted with and are tracked through the Chapter Selection stage. If you know to look for them you should get most of them as part of completing the game, just take your time looking around, particularly in puzzle rooms or hallways connecting to new areas. The easiest to miss is at the beginning of Chapter 6, on the right side of the stairs leading up to the temple. If you're still struggling, this guide will help you find any you're missing (credit to Hanni): LINK
  • Replay a level.

At any point after beating the prologue, pause the game and go into the chapter selection menu. Select a level you've already completed for the trophy.

Secret trophies

  • You have found the secret object in Chapter 1.

Soon after reaching the first real puzzle of the chapter, you'll enter a beach clearing filled with red unu. Straight ahead from where you enter there is a large green rock acting as a ramp. Walk up the rock and at the end, you'll see a barrel you can interact with to your right and below you.

  • Where did my motorboat go?

In Chapter 1, after completing the puzzle with the different symbols representing the sun, fish, water etc. and lowering the bridge, return to the beach at the start of the level and interact with the groove in the sand where your boat used to be.
  • You have found the secret object in Chapter 2.

After completing the tiki puzzle in Harry's tent, a secret room will open up. Head inside and behind the Polynesian shrine, you'll see a photo on the ground that you can interact with.
  • You have found the secret object in Chapter 3.

After turning the power back on inside the ship, return to the beach. With your back to the ship, the left most tents will have a breaker sitting on the ground and turning it on will illuminate a path to your right. Just behind the breaker inside a crate you'll find a can you can interact with.
  • You have found the secret object in Chapter 4.

Halfway through the chapter you'll appear in a new location with a dry ocean bed you walk through. You'll eventually reach a house, go inside and follow the hallway to the room with the fireplace. Before interacting with the music box, pick up the postcard to the left of the fireplace.

  • You have found the secret object in Chapter 5.

After completing the puzzle using the stone symbols and different hand paintings to change the water level, you'll be back underwater. Swim around until you find the two underwater tents. Just to the right of the rightmost tent, swim towards the rock wall and you should find a small table with a tiara on it.

  • You have found the secret object in Chapter 6.

After opening all four constellation doors, you'll reach a room with stone animals that you can move. Start by pressing the left button once, then the right button once, then the middle button once, followed by the gold button. Follow the new path to another panel. Press the left button once, the right button three times to get it to face left, then the middle button once, followed by the gold button. Head back to the start, then press the middle button until the statues face down and left, then press the left button until the statues in the distance face down and left. Press the gold button then follow the path to a photograph on the ground.

  • We know it, we are the teacher’s pet. BUY ALL RAW FURY GAMES!

In Chapter 2, you'll first need to find the stone tablet in the hidden room (complete the tiki puzzle to find it), then use it on the elevator in the central area to head up top. From there, use the ladder to enter the well and head straight through to find a bridge you can lower. You'll be back at Harry's tent from here so head back to the elevator which will still be in the upper position, revealing a message on the side of the elevator you can interact with for the trophy.
  • Now you can sell the scoop to any tabloid newspaper.

In Chapter 3, head inside the wrecked ship and take a hard left. You'll find a series of crates stacked in a corner and between two of the crates you'll find a tape recorder you can interact with. You'll almost certainly need to crank up the brightness settings to be able to find this but once you do it'll be easy to spot.
  • You have played the notes of the music box of Chapter 4 on the piano in Chapter 3.

First you'll need to restore the power in Chapter 3, including flipping the breaker on the beach for the projector tent. Next, find the piano machine on the desk and turn it on, then play the notes in the video below:
  • You watched the last slide from Harry's projector.

After restoring the power on the ship in Chapter 3, head along the beach until you find the tent with the breaker sitting on the sand in front of it. Use that to restore power to another tent at the base of a stone staircase and in that tent you'll find the projector. Cycle through all of the slides until the trophy unlocks.
  • You made Norah sing to a microphone with no power. Are you happy now?

Shortly after starting Chapter 4, head up the mountain until you reach the big stone door and find the microphone in front of it. Interact with it until Norah starts singing (this was a bit finicky for me, I had to press the button a half dozen times and used the tape machine next to the microphone as well before it would work).
  • Norah didn't write that, did she?

In Chapter 4, as part of restoring the power you'll be knocked off of a platform and wake up in a desert. As any point in this sequence, before you return to the real world, press triangle.png to open your notebook for the trophy.
  • You experienced all the visions in Chapter 5.

Once you reach the village in Chapter 5, you will be able to complete this alongside the hand painting puzzle. Hidden inside some of the tents are stone pools filled with black ichor. Interact with them to see a vision. There will be five of these pools here so once you find them all, you can continue to complete the puzzle to lower the water level. After you've entered the water, swim down until you find two underwater tents. Each of them will contain a stone pool with another vision. Interact with both of them for the trophy.
  • You opened a portal to Arcadia.

After opening all four constellation doors in Chapter 6, return to the hub room and before entering the throne room you can create a secret constellation for the trophy. From the eye on the floor, on the closest left ring press the 1st button then on the closest right ring, press the 3rd button.
  • You found the Out of the Blue Key.

After entering the throne room in Chapter 6, you'll eventually return to your home where you'll be given the option of two different endings. Choose to leave your old life behind and you'll find yourself on a long pathway leading to the end of the game. As you head towards the first stone arch, hug the left wall and you'll find a secret pathway that will lead you to the key. Below is a video showing its location:
