Welcome to BloodRayne, 2002's hottest game – woops, sorry. BloodRayne ReVamped! That's right, it's your favorite dhampir half-Vampire, Nazi butt-kicker, femme fatale back again! Not much has changed from the original game or the Terminal Cut version... In fact, nothing has changed beyond improved graphics and controls, but that's the point. Ported by Ziggurat, BloodRayne ReVamped is the same game you loved 20 years ago but now on PS4 (and PS5 via backwards compatability). If you've never played them before, you might have a slightly hard time getting over the old graphics, because, while they've been improved, they still certainly show their age but if you're a fan of cult classics, B-movie camp or vampires in general, you'll still have a great time.

You play as Rayne, a Dhampir, AKA a half-vampire, half-human, who has just joined the Brimstone Society to help them take down other vampires and monsters. Before long, though, you'll change targets and you'll be up against the Nazi's G.G.G. division (Gegengeist Gruppe; this universe's Hydra division or Raiders of the Lost Ark's Nazis) who are searching for supernatural objects to help Nazi Germany win World War II. It's up to you to stop them from summoning demons!

CHEATS UPDATE: Although they were disabled upon release, the Patch 1.0.2 (released on Feb 15, 2022) has restored all of the original cheats! However, using cheats will disable the trophies. You can play with them as you wish, but you cannot earn trophies while ANY cheat* is active.

* Note: Because they did not specify whether cosmetic cheats also affect the trophies or not, it's best to assume they do.

GLITCH NOTE: Prior to Patch 1.0.2 (Feb 15, 2022), among other bugs, the PS4 version of BloodRayne ReVamped often froze in certain areas of the game while playing on PS4, but worked fine on PS5. However, this is no longer the case; as of 02/15/22, the Patch seems to have fixed most of those glitches, but then caused a major glitch where playing the PS4 version on PS5 will cause the game to crash sporadically. It's best to stick to your console's specific version now that they've also released a PS5-native version.

BloodRayne is a very linear game. There's no open-world map, there's no sandbox, there aren't any collectibles to find or secrets to uncover beyond two easter eggs. All but two trophies are story-related for killing the bosses and defeating the game so it's a very simple guide.

SAVING: Every time you change levels, the game will ask if you want to save. The best thing you can do is to not choose Quick Save and instead choose Save and make sure you save on a new file each time. In case you forget/miss either easter egg or have any trouble, this will save you a lot of time. BloodRayne does not have any kind of Chapter Select, at most you can only choose which Act post-game.

Step 1:  Play the Game on Normal or Hard.

It's up to you whether you want to begin playing in Hard mode right away or whether you want to start with Normal mode and do a second playthrough later on Hard difficulty. However, if you have never played BloodRayne before or haven't since its release, we recommend starting on Normal mode.

Since nearly all the trophies are just for defeating bosses, you don't really have to worry much about the 100%. There are only a few trophies that you'll need to look out for if you want to do everything in one go. In order of appearance, they are:
  • Act 1 Level "Sanctuary": In the very beginning of the game, you'll head to a church. Destroy the crucifix by shooting it to bits for Make Him Mad trophy_bronze.png.

  • Act 2 Level "Communication Breakdown": Don't worry about secrets or anything until you reach Act 2: Communication Breakdown. When you defeat the boss of that level (J.A. Cotter), the easter egg is right around the corner. See Ark of the Covenant trophy_silver.png for more.

  • Act 3 Level "Doppelganger": Towards the very end of the game, just before the final boss, you'll have to face the bosses Sigmund and Simon. There are trophies for killing each of them first so pick one of them, kill them first, then stop, reload the save you made just before this boss fight and kill the other one this time. See Right Hand Man trophy_bronze.png and Left of Centre trophy_bronze.png.

  • Act 3 Level "Of Wulfs and Demons": Finally, the second easter egg is located in the final boss chamber.  It's important to note that you have to get this before you kill the bosses. See Head-Gun trophy_silver.png for more on that.

By the end of this step, you will have earned:

Make Him Mad trophy_bronze.png
Big Momma trophy_bronze.png
Thule Chapel trophy_bronze.png
The Bucheress trophy_bronze.png
Walls of Jericho trophy_bronze.png
Right Hand Man trophy_bronze.png
Left of Centre trophy_bronze.png
Teachers and Traitors trophy_bronze.png
Of Wulfs and Demons trophy_bronze.png
Head-Gun trophy_silver.png
Ark of the Covenant trophy_silver.png
HalfBlood trophy_silver.png

Step 2:  Restart and complete the game on Hard if you haven't OR Load and complete Act 3 on Hard.

If you did your first playthrough on Normal mode, you should just have the Hard mode trophy left. If you want to, you can redo the whole game on Hard mode... or, since you've finished the game, you should now be able to select any Act you want. It's been confirmed that you only need to complete Act 3 on Hard for Vampiress trophy_gold.png (credit to pussycat692 for this tip).

Nothing really changes on Hard except that you take more damage. That said however, this is going to be pretty rough, so buckle up. BloodRayne can be quite tough at times as it is, let alone on Hard. The best tips I can give are to be patient, make use of your powers (Blood Rage & Dilated Perception especially) and try, try again! Don't get discouraged if you die a bunch of times, it's normal. See Vampiress trophy_gold.png for more tips and general info. Good luck!

By the end of this step, you will have earned:

Vampiress trophy_gold.png

Step 3: Clean up. (Optional)

If you missed either of the easter eggs or didn't do the alternate boss right away (Sigmund and Simon), reload your saves made at those times to do them. If you were overwriting saves rather than making new ones, you'll have to start all over. However, if you followed this guide, this step shouldn't be necessary.

13 trophies ( 9  )

  • Deface the Lousiana Chapel

    MISSABLE

In the very beginning of Act I, you'll head to a Chapel in Louisiana. While inside, you'll find a large crucifix on the wall. Break it by shooting it to pieces and this trophy will pop. See below for a video guide:

NOTE: Although you'll see me destroy the entire Chapel in the video, you do not need to do that. Breaking the crucifix is all that is required for the trophy. (Thanks to nemeantzar for the confirmation.)
  • Kill the Queen of the Underworld

    Story-related and cannot be missed.

This trophy is for defeating the Queen of the Underworld, the final boss of Act 1.

During Act I, you'll search for the cause of mutated villagers and set out to put an end to whatever disease is causing it. Eventually you'll be following the blue sphere (on radar or via Aura Sense) to the next objective, jumping from boat to boat (remember, don't fall in the water), until you reach a boat with a voodoo ritual left behind. A cutscene will occur and the boss will emerge from the water and you'll find yourself face to face with the Queen of the Underworld, AKA the mother of all insect monsters.

When the boss dies, you'll get a short cutscene and the trophy will pop. For more on the boss and tips for fighting her, see below [Spoiler Warning!]:

She can be surprisingly tough. There will be random mutated monsters around and personally I suggest leaving them so you can use them to replenish your health during the boss fight if need be. They won't bother you during the fight anyway as you'll be far enough away from them. The best way to kill her is, using your Blood Rage, attack one of her legs until she falls over. Once she does, attack her torso until her leg grows back and she stands back up. If needed, rinse and repeat as many times as needed until she dies but you should be able to kill her in one full Blood Rage attack in Normal mode.

Here's a video showing how to kill her:
  • Kill Von Blut

    Story-related and cannot be missed.

This trophy is for killing Von Blut, one of the main bosses of Act 2, which takes place in the Communication Breakdown/Thule Chapel levels.

When the boss dies, you'll get a short cutscene and the trophy will pop. For more on the boss and tips for fighting him, see below [Spoiler Warning!]:

Von Blut can be annoying but there is a (relatively) easy way to kill him, though it takes a little patience. The best method is to hide behind the closest pillar to him while he shoots at you until he has to stop and reload. Immediately jump out, jumping over his head and landing behind him, shooting as you jump. Keep shooting at him as he speeds off, then rinse and repeat. Using this method may take you a few minutes to kill him but it's by far the safest and easiest way to take him out. In addition, there will be normal enemies that come out every now and again so if your health dips too low, you'll have enough to feed on if you need it. You can also harpoon-grab them (Hold square.png) and feed behind a pillar for safety.

Here's a video showing how to kill Von Blut:
  • Kill Dr. Bathory Mengele

    Story-related and cannot be missed.

This trophy is for killing The Butcheress, aka Dr. Bathory, one of the main bosses of Act 2, which takes place in the Hell Hall/The Labratory levels.

When the boss dies, you'll get a short cutscene and the trophy will pop. For more on the boss and tips for fighting her, see below [Spoiler Warning!]:

This boss fight is deceptively easy once you know what to do but still kind of annoying. Dr. Bathory essentially has the same move-set as Rayne does and can block your frontal attacks. The best way to kill her is to use your Blood Rage mode and just slice-and-dice her as much as you can before it runs out. At some point, she will move to one of the consoles and will trigger the floor to fall out. You'll have to stand on one of the white strips around the room but do not stand in the center of them, as a line of electricity will run through the center. It should only be a few seconds before that is canceled and you can continue like normal. When you're out of Blood Rage, use your Dilated Perception mode (dpad_down.png) to continue whaling on her as staying in that mode will prevent her super-quick attacks.

Note: Before you reach Dr. Bathory, you'll also kill another boss, Kommando. He's annoying because of how fast he moves so the easiest way to kill him is to turn on your Dilated Perception mode and shoot him to death with your guns (you cannot use Feed on him).

Here's a video showing how to kill Dr. Bathory:

  • Kill D. Mauler

    Story-related and cannot be missed.

This trophy is for defeating D. Mauler, the final boss of Act 2, in the Dante's Inferno/Walls of Jericho level. Once you obtain the relic, you must escape the area as the entire place blows up around you. After running through explosions, you'll face this massive monster of a man. Kill him!

When the boss dies, you'll get a short cutscene and the trophy will pop. For more on the boss and tips for fighting him, see below [Spoiler Warning!]:

While obvious, it still needs to be mentioned... Try your best to avoid being hit by him, as he deals exponentially increased damage as he hits incredibly hard. As usual, use your Blood Rage and Dilated Perception modes to defeat him. Try to stick to his back or his sides, never in front of him so that he can't hit you. If he does, grab one of the nearby enemies to Feed and replenish health. If you just keep your character circling around him in either Blood Rage or Dilated Perception, he'll never be able to hit you.
  • Kill Sigmund first

    MISSABLE

Towards the very end of Act 3, just before the game's final big bad boss, in the Doppelganger level you'll have to face 2 bosses together at the same time: Sigmund and Simon. For this trophy, you'll need to kill Sigmund first before you kill Simon, whereas in the Left of Centre trophy_bronze.png, you'll need to do the opposite so make sure you make a separate save before you do either. Once you do your first, restart from the save and do the second one before continuing on with your game or if you prefer, you could always come back to the save later on after you've completed the game. If you do that, however, make sure you do not save OVER the previous save, otherwise you'll need to restart and make a brand new playthrough. That's why we recommend doing both right away, rather than saving it for later.

When Sigmund dies, the trophy will pop. For more on the boss and tips for fighting both of them, see below [Spoiler Warning!]:

Rather than fight both, pick whichever one you want to do first and focus 100% on that one, ignoring the other. The fight is basically whack-a-mole in a sense. Both bosses will continually hide behind pillars for cover and you'll need to break those pillars using multiple rebound/spin kicks (double jump) to force them to come out so you can attack. When they do, pop your Blood Rage and kill him.
  • Kill Simon First

    MISSABLE

Towards the very end of Act 3, just before the game's final big bad boss, you'll have to face 2 bosses together at the same time: Sigmund and Simon. For this trophy, you'll need to kill Simon first before you kill Sigmund, whereas in the Right Hand Man trophy_bronze.png, you'll need to do the opposite so make sure you make a separate save before you do either.

When Simon dies, the trophy will pop. For more on the boss and tips for fighting both of them, see below [Spoiler Warning!]:

  • Story-related and cannot be missed.

Glitch Note: The trophy isn't glitched per se but if you die just as Mynce dies, although the game will act like you won and you won't be dead, it's possible you won't get the trophy as that happened to me and I had to re-do the level. If this happens to anyone else, please inform us.

This trophy is for defeating Mynce, one of the main bosses in Act 3. Once you do, the trophy will pop. For a video of the fight, see here: BloodRayne ReVamped Walkthrough - Act 3 Boss Mynce.

For more on the boss fight and tips, see below [Spoiler Warning!]:

Mynce, as it turns out, is not only alive but a traitor. You'll fight her towards the end of Act 3 in the Teachers and Traitors level as you're storming a Nazi-held vampire castle. As you're killing Nazis, you spot her and follow her to kill her. Because she is essentially Rayne, you can expect that she has the same moves that you do and is wicked fast, too. The fight starts at the bottom of another large circular staircase but will eventually move to the top. Do not use Blood Rage in the beginning; shoot her with whatever guns you have (hopefully you've saved enough after the flying menaces) until you both move to the top of the stair case. You'll get another cutscene, then use your Blood Rage to kill her.

Tip: If you have a rocket launcher, which you can get from one of the jetpack Nazis, use that on her in the very beginning as it will drop her health by so much that it will force her to move to phase 2 immediately where she heads to the top of the staircase right away, as this makes the fight so much easier once it's not on the staircase anymore. Grenades are a decent alternative, though not as effective.

Note: Prior to this boss fight, you have a rather annoying level. Before the door you need to go through opens, all enemies must be dead. The problem is that this entire level seems to be extremely buggy so what often happens is that one of the jet-pack flying Nazis tends to get stuck somewhere near the top of the super high circular staircase, which is also a major pain to climb with these controls/camera mechanism. Unfortunately, each time you fail to kill Mynce and die, you must redo that entire level all over again. Also...  A little tip for the flying enemies: You can Harpoon them down but sometimes their jetpack will stay with them and othertimes it won't. If the blue light is still there after you've Harpooned them down, jump away as it will explode if you continue on with the feeding. If there's no light, go for it.
  • Kill Beliar and Wulf

    Story-related and cannot be missed.

This trophy is for killing both of the final bosses: Beliar and Wulf. The fight takes place at the end of Act 3, immediately after Sigmund & Simon (see Right Hand Man trophy_bronze.png and Left of Centre trophy_bronze.png). After that fight, you'll break down the gate and head down the hallway. There will be a small group of 5-6 Nazis there. Kill them using only your blades (to get Blood Rage) and Feeding. Once they're dead, continue into the next room and you'll be at the final boss fight with both Wulf and Beliar. When you kill one of them, you'll be able to save so that if you die, you won't have to kill that one again, which is awesome. Once you kill both of them, both this trophy and HalfBlood trophy_silver.png will pop. (If you're on Hard mode, Vampiress trophy_gold.png will also pop here).

For some tips on the fight, see below the video [Spoiler Warning!]:

The fight is actually relatively simple. Wulf will spend half his time shooting you and the other half shooting Beliar. Beliar can only use his arms, which shoot out like spikes. Every so often, Beliar will return to the center of the room and light on fire. Each time that happens, he grows in size. It is important to note that there is a maximum size he can reach; if you let him get to a certain size, it's instant game over. That said, it takes a very long time for him to get to that size so you should be fine.

Although normally, most walkthroughs will tell you to focus on killing Beliar first but I disagree. Firstly, it won't take long to kill Wulf if you follow the method laid here. Secondly, Wulf is actually the more annoying of the two as he shoots you with guns, whereas Beliar can only attack you if you're nearby and it's very easy to kite Beliar around without ever getting hit. While Wulf does also shoot Beliar, his help isn't worth the health you lose keeping him alive and doing Beliar first.

When the fight starts, you should have full Blood Rage (or near full) from the group of Nazis just before the boss. Immediately pop it and attack Wulf, getting him as low as possible and then continue hacking at him until your Rage meter refills and do it again, after which he should die. Do not use guns at all on the first group of Nazis or Wulf or anyone other than Beliar, because guns are the only way you can kill Beliar

Killing Wulf should not take long assuming you use both Blood Rages so by that time, Beliar will be at a decent enough size that targetting the correct place (his heart) should be a lot easier than when he is smaller. With Wulf out of the way, just kite Beliar around the room as you shoot at his heart/chest. If you don't see his heatlh going down/flickering in the first few bullets, stop and readjust because you're not targetting the right area. Once you see his health move/his image flicker, keep going.
  • Find the severed head guns

    MISSABLE

This trophy is for finding one of the Easter Eggs in the game, two guns in the shape of severed heads which are found in Act 3, in the final level of the game, Of Wulfs and Demons trophy_bronze.png. When you enter the boss room, ignore the bosses and head up the stairs that circle the perimeter of the room until you reach the top. From there you need to climb up another level by using the tiny ledges on the straight pillars (the thinner, square-shaped ones, not the round ones) around the room. Shoot down the cages that are hanging at the high ceiling at the very top. This gun is a little glitchy and instead of showing on the floor, you'll see it shining in the wall (see my video below to see what it looks like). All you have to do is walk near it and the trophy will pop. (As a side note, you can equip and use these like any other gun weapon.)

Note: You have to get it before you kill both bosses, as once you kill the last one, the game ends and you can't go back, you'll need to restart the boss fight.

Here is a video showing its location and how to get it:
  • Find the Ark of the Covenant

    MISSABLE

This trophy is for finding another one of the Easter Eggs. This one is found during Act 2: Argentina, in the Communication Breakdown level. After you kill the boss J.A. Cotter, head through the other door and you'll find a crate and a shovel. Break the crate (r1.png) to reveal a model of the Ark of the Covenant and the trophy will pop.

Fun note: Whilst the world of BloodRayne and Indiana Jones are worlds apart, the G.G.G. (Gegengeist Gruppe) has the exact same aim as the Nazis in Indiana Jones who search for the Ark i.e. to search for a supernatural means to win the war.

Here's a video showing its location:
  • Complete the game on normal difficulty

    Story-related and cannot be missed.

Self-explanatory! This trophy is for completing the game on (at least) Normal difficulty. Once you defeat the last boss(es) of the game (see Of Wulfs and Demons trophy_bronze.png), the game is over. After the final cutscenes and whatnot, the trophy will pop.

See Vampiress trophy_gold.png for some overall tips for playing the game on either difficulty level.
  • Complete the game on hard difficulty

ACT SELECT SHORTCUT: Although the trophy is for completing the entire game on Hard, it has been confirmed that you only need to complete Act 3 on Hard for Vampiress trophy_gold.png (credit to pussycat692 for this tip). You'll gain access to the Act Select once you've finished the game for the first time, so if you chose to play on Normal first, you can select Act 3 and just do that section to get this trophy. Of course, it's still a tough Act, and a lot of people struggle with the minefield and bridge in particular, so don't expect this shortcut to make things that much easier on you. It's still going to be a rough fight to the end!
    —————

This trophy is for completing the game on Hard difficulty and it's definitely not a cakewalk. Even Normal difficulty can be difficult in certain levels so this trophy is definitely a challenge. But like anything else, be patient and just take it slow, don't forget to use Blood Rage (you gain it back quick enough to not need to save it), use Dilated Perception and you'll get there.

There are no real differences between Normal and Hard modes; none of the content changes, you don't get more or fewer enemies, bosses don't have different attacks and their strategies don't change, and your abilities and weapons also remain the same. The only difference between the two difficulty modes is in the amount of damage you give and take. Enemies are tougher to kill and deal much more damage, especially bosses.

While you can start playing on Hard mode right away, unless you're extremely experienced in this game, it's highly recommended that you do 2 playthroughs instead, and play on Normal difficulty first. Because Normal and Hard modes are essentially exactly the same in almost every regard, it will be great practice for your Hard playthrough. That way, you'll learn the best routes to take, you'll learn the bosses' attacks and the fight strategies, have practice with your own abilities, and much more. Even on Normal mode, the game can be very tough, especially when it comes to the bosses and, really, all of Act 3. See below for some tips for playing the game.

BloodRayne can sometimes feel like one giant maze, even for someone who has played the game before so if you get lost every now and then, you're not alone. Unfortunately there aren't any maps in-game so the only thing you can really do is follow the blue sphere (from your Aura Sense) and just keep trying to find the right way. Generally if you see enemies, you're likely somewhere around the right path. Alternatively, you can watch my Walkthrough videos. Playlist: LINK.

The following tips apply to both Normal and Hard difficulty modes:

    GENERAL TIPS:
    1. As mentioned above, do not forget to use Blood Rage (triangle.png). Many times I've found myself saving it for so long that I could've re-gained it three times and then some by that point. There's no need to refrain from using it unless you know for certain that a main boss is in the next room.
    2. Use your Dilated Perception! (dpad_down.png) Yes, it makes everything really slow and sometimes hard to handle with these clunky controls, but on Hard mode where you'll be taking a ton of damage, it really helps. Plus, use your Dilated Perception to get behind elite or bosses to be able to Feed (see the next tip).
    3. When it comes to elites, mini bosses and even some bosses, Feeding is generally the fastest way to kill anything, because it's always a OHKO (one-hit knockout). Hop behind them using your Dilated Mode and use Feed.
    4. While you're feeding, always turn Rayne/the camera so that the person you're feeding on acts as a body shield, so if anyone shoots you, they'll hit him instead of you. This actually works and helps protect you from a lot of bullets.
      1. If you are/get good at it, you can actually fire weapons (r1.png) and kill other enemies with guns while Feeding, but I wouldn't recommend that for most encounters, just if you have an enemy directly in front of you as you're feeding that is shooting you.
    5. If you're at very low health, just Feeding once will often times bring you to full health.
    6. This is a very tough game on Hard mode, so expect to die loads. It's fine; just keep trying and practicing until you get it. Don't get too cocky, because, especially on Hard, just one mistake can be your downfall.

ACT 3 – THE BRIDGE TIPS:
    1. Especially for the minefield in Act 3: The Bridge, you're going to need to memorize the best path, and try to do it as fast as possible. The faster you're out of there, the less chance you'll die, and the better your chances of not running out of ammo. You need that ammo for the very next part. What you should do is...
      1. Preferably before you get to the tower to kill the 3 guys there (2 outside, 1 in the tower), use a rocket launcher to take out the 3 guys at the end of this section; the ones that are standing by the bottom of the stairs, shooting rockets at you. Ideally, you're going to want to take them out in just 1 rocket hit (2 is fine if needed, though). If you can do that (practice!), it will make your life so much easier. Not just for the remainder of the minefield, but for the very next part (the mechs coming down the stairs, mini-bosses, & bridge), which is even harder.
      2. There should be a bunch of rocket launchers left on the ground at the bottom of the stairs, where you killed them. Make sure you grab them to kill the couple mechs that are going to be walking towards you down the stairs, then go back and get the rest to refill your rockets before you cross the bridge.
    2. The bridge (and really this whole level) is probably one of the hardest to do in the entire game. You will die, many, many times. Memorize which sections of the bridge are going to fall under you and when. And once you're across, go straight for your main target to kill him (D. Traugott). Dilated Perception will probably be a big help here.
