Welcome to my trophy guide for Blood Drive, a combat driving game from Sidhe Games. As a game, think what the offspring would be if Dead Rising had a kid with Twisted Metal, in as much to say that you square off against other opponents in weaponised vehicles in zones that are infested with an endless supply of zombies. Tournament mode makes up the bulk of gameplay and is broken down into zones made up of 3-5 events and works on a points table system, there is a Multiplayer component but the servers are extremely quiet so there's not much action to speak of and a Challenge Mode that is fairly short. As a Platinum, the majority is simply to win the Blood Drive Championship with all characters which is easy enough to do but will take a very long time. All online trophies can be done solo with the exception of one and the misc trophies are varied enough, easily achievable if you are concentrating on them. This isn't the hardest Platinum by any stretch of the imagination but it's not the easiest either.

One thing I should point out with the trophy descriptions is that they can easily be misinterpreted and not taken literally. As a general rule, every time you see a description start with ‘Complete the’, it should actually read 'Win the'. To confirm, there are no trophies just for completing a tournament, you do actually have to finish first overall before the related trophies will unlock.

Step 1 – Preliminary Cups

Before you can do much else in the game you must complete 5 preliminary tournament events before you can unlock and compete in the actual Blood Drive Championship. You do not have to finish first in each event as the Cup Winner will be based on the highest points tally over the course of all events so use this as an early opportunity to get to grips with the gameplay and find a character that suits your play style.

Step 2 – Blood Drive Championship + Hardcore x8 (each)

Now you've unlocked the Blood Drive Championship, proceed to win the event with all 8 characters. You only need to win it once with anybody to unlock Hardcore Mode but there's a trophy related to each playable character so you'll have to do it anyway as they don't stack unfortunately. This equates to 16 separate full tournaments and at 2 hours each at the least, this is where the bulk of the time to platinum comes from. Once done you should have enough experience and decided on who your best character is for the next part.

Step 3 – Win every single event in Tournament Mode

This may not be the longest step but it will by far be the most frustrating and difficult. A few trophies will fall en route to the end goal but ultimately the grand prize for winning every single event is a very rare gold trophy. For all of the specifics and an in depth explanation of what is required for the trophy then see 'O' is for Overachiever.

Step 4 – Online/Challenges + Clean Up

As mentioned in the Introduction, you can obtain 4 of the 5 online trophies playing solo because the computer will give you A.I. players if there are no humans to fill a lobby but you will need a human for one of them so see the Crash and Burn trophy for more info. After that you can take on the single player challenges, however there are only 6 of them and are all pretty basic which will leave you with some misc trophies for the Platinum unless you got them naturally. See the Trophy Guide for any trophies you have left to finally unlock this Platinum.

  • Complete All Challenges

The Challenge trophies can be nightmare inducing sometimes but these ones aren't too bad since there are only 6 of them so don't represent too much of a problem. Unique to this mode is that if you die, the Challenge ends as failed and you don't respawn so just keep an eye on your health. Each one seems to sound crazy hard when you read what you have to do but with the descriptions below you'll do just fine:

    Challenge #1

This Challenge is actually pretty easy and can be done with just about anybody. As it's The Gauntlet and you spawn in the same place every time, take your first left up the main road and pick up the Harpoon weapon pick-up. Hold down the fire button and drive to the end of this strip to where the health pick-up is, grab it if you need it, spin around 180 and gun it right back the way you came. Repeat this cycle by continuously picking up the Harpoon and Repair pick-ups every time they spawn and you'll have this in no time.

    Challenge #2

This one is on The Slab and can be a little tricky. Choose anybody with a good damage resistance stat like Brock and when the timer starts, go right and drop down to the next level then to the left and down so you are on the one with the Saw Blade and Rocket pick-ups. What you want to do now is just keep sweeping this level in a large circle, constantly picking up the two aforementioned weapon pick-ups as you go. This is to ensure you never run short of ammo. If you need health then there's a Super Repair pick-up in front of the Lobber in the far corner which you will keep on passing so just duck into the little area where it is if you need it, I posted a time of 1:35 so there was lots to spare in the end.

    Challenge #3

The criteria for this one is that you have 1 minute to start with but you must 'survive' for a total of 5 minutes, the trick being that for each kill you get another 20 seconds added to your timer so effectively, it's a case of get 12 kills before the timer runs out. As Natalya is the most durable and also has a very good damage dealing weapon to start with, choose her and the Tank loadout. From your start point you’ll find a Super Repair pick-up in the downed plane in front of you to the right and a Rail Gun pick-up around the terminal. Stick to these areas and blast anybody that moves, the Rail Gun will guarantee you some kills but you must keep an eye on your health as it’s game over if you die. You should get this one with a little practice.

    Challenge #4

This one is a bit like #3 in that you need 10 kills in 4 minutes. Again use Natalya and the Tank loadout and stay near the Super Repair pick-up, using your weapons and ramming everyone you can. Cars will be drawn to you so hit them hard and fast before some other car steals the killing blow from you. It's a little easier than the last one I found so again, stick at it if you don't pull it off first time.

    Challenge #5

This is a Checkpoint Race requiring you to hit 50 checkpoints in 4 minutes. The natural choice here is Kelley and as for a loadout I would go with Speed Demon. This is in the Helter Smelter so there's plenty of space but don't be deceived by it, I tried on my first turn to boost as much as I could and found myself having to wrestle back the car from hitting a bump and spinning wildly out of control. Definitely, handling here comes way before speed so accelerate at all times but I would advise never hitting the boost button the entire time, it’s just not worth the risk of hitting a zombie at a funny angle and flying out of control. If it takes a few tries then remember the layout as it never changes, you should get the hang of it pretty quickly.

    Challenge #6

The last Challenge and one of the easiest, just kill 1000 zombies in 5 mins. I picked Superstar with a Getting Personal loadout and drove round the strip in big circles, holding down the fire weapon button the entire time and swinging by the occasional Repair pick-up if I needed one. When you run low on Harpoons, hug the wall on the outside when you drive down the main drag past the casino to pick up a fresh batch of them and continue on your route. My kill chain was still in effect when the timer was up and I actually came away with 1,900+ kills when the bonus was calculated at the end.

  • Rack up over 50 kills in a single Killing Spree

See the Fear the Reaper trophy for more info.

  • Hit a Shambler while it's in mid-air

This will be your first trophy. Shamblers are the generic zombies that litter every event and pose almost no threat to you unless you slow right down or stop, in which case they will surround you and pretty much ruin your vehicle and eat you so don't do that. Once you get going in your first event, just plough into all the zombies you can find which is not hard since they're literally everywhere. It's hard to say really what triggers this as all zombies begin by being on the ground, it might be the ones that go flying up into the air but it seems pretty indiscriminate as I got it within 30 seconds of my very first event and all I was doing was just running into zombies and learning the buttons.

Just keep on driving into zombies is really all you need for this so enjoy a free trophy.

  • Crush 5 or more Zombies with a single Prop

Quite an easy trophy all things considered and can be earned in any event with anybody, online or offline. Littered around every zone is debris and the wrecks of burnt out vehicles/buses and portacabins and what have you, fixed structures are black on your mini-map to the bottom left of the screen so you can tell what you can use here and what will end up with you taking a hard knock to the grille. Once you see an object you can move, position yourself to face it and ideally have a full boost on you either from a perk or by picking one up (the light blue flaming tyre pick-up) somewhere on the map. Now just floor it and plough straight ahead until you've taken out 5 zombies to unlock the trophy.

If it didn't work then just repeat the method above and you'll get it right before too long, sometimes the game is lousy when it comes to spawning zombies just where you want them to be.

  • Earn Bonus Zombie Points in every Event in a single Cup

You'll notice that whenever you begin a new Cup, a short cinematic will zoom into the arena and show you a random zombie and label it a 'bonus zombie' with a word on killing them for more points. These are the sole emphasis for this trophy so you can thankfully forget about the actual event criteria. To begin with, choose the Ante Cup as this is only made up of 3 events so there's no need to make this any harder than it has to be. Who you use for this is arbitrary, and proceed to the first event. Once you begin, drive around and watch the screen for 'BONUS ZOMBIE' in red with an arrow beneath it pointing downwards. These zombies are the only ones that shamblers that stand completely still so line them up and plough through them. When you do so successfully, the screen will go slo-mo and grey out to show you took out 1/3 bonus zombies. From here you simply need to repeat the above process until you nail all 3 and you will have met the quota for that event and can wait for the timer to burn down to move onto the next one. You should know that there is never more than one active bonus zombie at a time, only when you kill the first one will the second one become active and so on.

Some final words are that you must ram them, no shooting them or blowing them up, it wont count and if you do you'll then have to wait for the game to assign another random zombie with a bonus arrow and hunt them down. One other thing is that the A.I do not seem to care about these bonus zombies, however they can still take them out so move fast if you are in a huddle. I've lost count of the number of times I was speeding towards the bonus zombie, only for Natalya or somebody to come in out of nowhere from the side and splatter them and make me wait for another one to generate somewhere else on the map.

Once you have wiped out the 9th bonus zombie (there are 3 in each event), you can chill and do whatever until the timer is up. On the points screen you'll get your last bonus point and the trophy will pop.

  • Trigger a Jump Camera with a Leaper on your Car

This is somewhat random in that a Leaper seems to jump on top of your car out of nowhere and you have to just happen to be near or actually leaving a jump at that exact moment for this to unlock.

Leapers are the zombie dudes that jump on your roof and start to try and punch their way inside. You either have to drive into something, be hit with a weapon or activate your rage special move in order to dislodge them. It might sound easy keeping one on your roof until you hit a jump but there's little to no chance you'll make it unless you happen to be driving in the direction of one already or be quite near one with at least a mid way full health meter. You can not simply park up and wait for one, normal shambler zombies will pull you to pieces in no time so try just driving around. It may be just me but I found that 'The Strip' had more Leapers than anywhere else so try that and keep on driving up and down the strip with the huge ramps in the road (the one with the minigun power up). Eventually you'll have one land on you, now just gun it for the ramp and if you get the slo-mo action cam effect while he's still hung on then your trophy will pop.

  • Multiplayer: Kill another human player while you are both in mid-air

The keyword here is Human. Had it not have been for this trophy, you could have got the Platinum entirely on your own but for this one you'll need to play a versus match against another person online. The servers are virtually dead and even if you manage to overcome that hurdle, then there's the prospect of having only a single person with just enough health and being at the same height to be hit with a weapon to die from the damage caused. You are able to boost this trophy so those wishing to to not put themselves through endless hours of lobby jumping and desperate attempts to pull off a 1 in 1,000 shot when you do pair up have a reasonable alternative.

As for a method, this will work in both instances but obviously it's a lot more likely to work when you co-operate. Choose to be Kelley and whatever perk gives you a full Rage meter. Stay around the jumps and use your weapons to soften up your opponent until it's red just to be on the safe side. Now hit the jumps and while in mid air hit to activate Kelley's Gravity Well attack, if your opponent is within it's damage field and in mid air, you should wreck them and the trophy will unlock.

  • Multiplayer: Complete one entire event without being wrecked

Although this is a Multiplayer trophy, the game is happy to throw in a bunch of A.I. controlled opponents in the absence of anyone human which is more likely than not but all the same this will be pretty easy.

Choose whoever you like and whatever event you like to play best and simply complete the event without ever being wrecked. It comes down to whatever mode and character you prefer but personally I went with Superstar and chose a Checkpoint Elimination event and the Pimped perk. The second the event begins hit to hit everyone with the Flashbling and render them stationary then just zip round the course collecting all of the checkpoints, playing on the advantage you got by using your Rage Meter on everyone at the start. One by one the slowest chasers will be eliminated at 30 second intervals and because this isn't a combat orientated event, the only worry should be staying ahead of the pack and not running into the usual sorts of trouble like going slow and/or driving into explosive barrels or oncoming behemoths. Provided you haven't been destroyed once, the trophy will unlock at the end of the event.

  • Multiplayer: Compete in 10 online Events

It doesn't matter if you win, lose or draw, this trophy will unlock as soon as you complete 10 online events. The specifics do not matter so go with anyone you want and either take part or just sit it out, but if you want to make yourself useful then see the requirements for Untouchable and Hail to the King Baby as those are for winning 5 events each so this can be combined with those and earned without trying for it.

  • Wreck each Driver at least once during a single Event

You'll earn this many times over without really trying if you put enough hours in so don't worry about it. I got my trophy with Nazar in a Demolition Derby event as his Rage attack is pure evil and nerfs your character something silly. Each event is 4 minutes long so there's almost a minute per kill which is easily enough time, just keep hitting your Rage Meter and blast everyone you see. If it helps, keep an eye on the ticker bar at the bottom to see who it is you have killed and remember not to focus on them if there's a crowd.

The trophy will unlock as soon as the last kill registers.

  • Wreck your Rival 5 times in a single Event

This one can be a little bit taxing and you can often get so close only for a Behemoth or something else stupid to steal your last kill and mean another attempt. I would recommend a strong character with a tank like setup, Natalya or Brock are about the best and enter a Demolition Derby. As soon as you begin, concentrate on nobody but your Rival, indicated by the small yellow 'R' in the mini-map. Once you have them lined up, steam towards them and fire like crazy. If you are Brock, hit your Juggernaut special weapon to pretty much wipe them out entirely if you are driving at them at top speed for a very fast kill. As Natalya, pick a perk that nerfs' her Rail Gun e.g. something like Triple Threat will work well. Either one you choose, just pound away at your rival and on the 5th kill the trophy will unlock.

  • Completed an uninterrupted Donut for 10 seconds

Super easy. Choose any race event you want from any mode and select Kelley as your driver. Perks don't matter, just make sure it's a checkpoint event to keep the AI drivers away from you. When you get the word Go, go find a relatively open space, now hold down to accelerate and for the handbrake whilst holding the left thumb stick either left or right. This will put you in a doughnut spin and so long as you are not interrupted by an A.I. car or hit a wall, the trophy will pop. Don't worry about zombies crowding you as they don't count as an obstacle.

  • Wreck 2 Vehicles during one single Juggernaut or Damage Frenzy Rage

These two special attacks belong to Brock (Juggernaut) and Nazar (Damage Frenzy).

This is easily the least stressful 'two in one' trophies and is just as easy with either character. With Brock, wait for a King of the Skull match and follow the action as best you can then when the holder ends up in a corner and everyone piles into them, hit your Rage Meter and slam into everyone there and you should get at least 2 kills. With Nazar it's as simple as hitting the Rage Meter and just firing off your primary weapon like nobodies business, the double damage effect will wipe out just about everyone in a few shots.

  • Wreck 2 Vehicles during a single Flashbling or Cloak Rage

These two special attacks belong to Superstar (Flashbling) and Natalya (Cloak).

Forget about Natalya's rage, it's the worst in the game in terms of everything, all it does is hide Natalya so for this one you should go with Superstar. In almost any combat mode event, have a perk that grants a full Rage Meter and use it whenever you have an enemy in range, take them out and hopefully another car with low health will be close by, take them out too before the Flashbling wears off for the trophy. There will be a ton of opportunities for this so don't worry too much about it.

  • Wreck 2 Vehicles with a single Shockwave or Gross Polluter Rage

These two special attacks belong to Jackson (Shockwave) and Bedlam (Gross Polluter).

I got this unexpectedly with Jackson, his Rage Attack is so poor at damaging people that I decided to just leave it until I got around to playing as Bedlam but it popped literally at the death of a Demolition Derby match, I just got lucky but Bedlam is by far the best suited for this trophy. Enemy drivers tend to bunch together more frequently during King of the Skull matches so do these if you complete both characters' championships and still don't have it.

  • Wreck 2 Vehicles with a single Surgical Strike or Gravity Well Rage

These two special attacks belong to Reggie (Surgical Strike) and Kelley (Gravity Well).

Though this is significantly easier with Kelley, I got this trophy with Reggie and did so during a King of the Skull match. It's tough to get the skull in the first place but when you do, back up into a corner and wait for the pack to descend on you but time it right and fire the Surgical Strike to kill two people at once. If you go with Kelley then her attack is much better and you have as much a chance in KotS matches as Demolition Derbies or any other combat mode, just choose a perk that gives you a full Rage Meter (in both instances) and keep trying.

  • Complete the Blood Drive Championship

As stated in the Road Map, this actually means 'Win' the Blood Drive Championship. You can play the BDC once you have won all preliminary cups and this will unlock no matter who you complete the championship with. For general tips, see each characters corresponding trophy for completing the BDC Hardcore cup to give you the best advantage of winning.

Once you win the final event the trophy will pop, along with the chance to now take part in the BDC Hardcore Championship.

  • Place first in all Events in the Blood Drive Championship

See the 'O' is for Overachiever trophy for more info.

  • Complete the Hardcore Cup with Kelley

Kelley is decent enough to play as but is very much an all or nothing kind of character, she either wins with ease or is obliterated so you need to really make the most of events where she excels. Her car is the fastest in the game but her damage resistance is pathetic and she is the only character to start every round with Mines which is the worst weapon in the game so when put into any sort of event that isn't a checkpoint race, you have to choose a loadout that gives you a random weapon if you want a good start. Her special is a Gravity Well which throws everyone up in the sky in the surrounding area but the downside is it deals a very small amount of damage.

Her best events are checkpoint races, you should choose a loadout that gives you a full Rage Meter and let one go as soon as things begin to throw everyone in the air so you can speed off into a crazy lead. Her worst is anything with combat, especially Demolition Derbies as she can't deal enough damage and the likes of Natalya and Nazar just beast you so make the most of the other events.

  • Complete the Hardcore Cup with Reggie

Reggie is a cumbersome driver that lacks anything special really. His ambulance is slow, doesn't turn very well and is a huge target for others to ram. There isn't much in the way of saving graces other than his starting weapon which is the Saw Blades (this allows you to pick a better loadout at the start as you don't have to swap them out) but his special move is almost useless (it's an orbital strike which deals massive damage to a very small target which is set at the exact point you were at when you pressed :square: and takes a good 5 seconds to fire, by which time everybody is miles away).

His best events are any that require racking up kills, the Saw Blades chew through zombies and there's a good starting supply of 60. Unfortunately that's all he's good at because he's too slow to make any waves in races or King of the Skull and combat wise, he takes too long to line up enemies and his special is such a waste that you may find yourself struggling to pull away in the rankings.

  • Complete the Hardcore Cup with Bedlam

Bedlam is easily the most frustrating playthrough due to the stupidity of the mechanics that govern his Doom Buggy, it's actually rage inducing at times. He starts with a Mini Gun which is the best weapon to begin any cumulative kill event like Total Massacre meaning you don't have to sacrifice other perks when choosing your loadout to swap a useless weapon out. He's also quick out of the blocks and second only to Kelley for speed so if you don't get her in your tournament then speed is on your side for the Checkpoint events but more often than not, his wheel will hit a small dip or you'll land from a jump and all of a sudden you're bouncing around like a beach ball in a cyclone and everyone has passed you. Due to the unpredictability of his ride, you can't really say Checkpoint races are his strong suit and because his car disintegrates near anything hostile thanks to it's terrible damage resistance. You'll be respawning most of the time to make any progress anyway and forget about coming first in Demolition Derbies.

Control his freaky bouncy ball-esque car and make solid points on Zombie Roadkills and Total Massacres you'll be okay.

  • Complete the Hardcore Cup with Superstar

Superstar is far and away the best character in the game. Everything is his strong suit and when you use the loadouts properly, you can easily win any event. His starting weapon is the Harpoon which is great at killing multiple zombies for the multiple kill events and his special is the Flashbling which blinds every other A.I. opponent making them roll to a stop if they are in the vicinity. Although it deals no damage, the tactical advantage means King of the Hill is made easy and use a full Rage Meter at the start of every checkpoint race event to blast into a big lead.

As said, he is very strong in all events, possibly the only real one that may be a little bit infrequent in terms of wins are Demolition Derbys. The trouble is that Harpoons don't deal damage on impact but their explosive tips do, though that takes a few seconds to detonate. Many times I saw my kills stolen by a rampaging Brock or somebody steaming into somebody whilst my Harpoons were waiting to go off.

  • Complete the Hardcore Cup with Nazar

Nazar wins the accolade of being the coolest looking driver but that's about as far as his assets go. He starts with Drunk Missiles which can either be superb or just plain dumb, they can clear a leaper off your roof but more often than not they just cant be relied upon to deal any damage. His special move which is the Damage Frenzy is quite good if you have a better weapon pick-up and space is quite confined but his biggest drawback is the handling. He is the polar opposite of Bedlam, his car is slow and cumbersome and it turns slower than an oil tanker, it really is painful trying to get the car into a quick 180 spin.

Because of the handling, forget about winning any checkpoint races. Demolition Derbies are also tough because although Nazar is lethal with his special activated, you are usually toast before you can turn around to face somebody and fire. All you can do is make the most of the multiple kill events and do as best as you can in all others.

  • Complete the Hardcore Cup with Natalya

Natalya looks as though she is a sitting duck due to being huge in size, slow and ineffectual but in fact she is one of the strongest characters you can be. Her starting weapon is the Rail Gun which is one of those weapons with needs to be fired at just the right moment to connect but when it does, it can destroy almost anyone so is worth keeping in combat events. Her special is kind of okay, it just cloaks her as invisible which deals no damage to anyone but the zombies leave you alone too which can really help out in tight situations.

Though she is slow, her damage resistance and hard hitting weapon from behind makes her a strong performer in races, and of course combat events are her strong suit. Use her special move when you have the skull in King of the Skull events to throw the A.I. off the scent and keep it longer. Her weakness I would say was her handling as if she ends up in a spin, it can take ages to correct her.

  • Complete the Hardcore Cup with Jackson

Jackson is the definition of an all-rounder, good in every department but brilliant in none. His preferred weapon is the Rockets which deal good damage but you only start with 20 so often you need to pick a perk with Double Ammo to compensate. His special move is the shockwave which as it sounds, emits a pulse of energy in an outward circle. If will floor all zombies, even the huge Behemoths, and it will throw any surrounding cars off course. This is of course a great tool for checkpoint events but the actual damage it deals it pitiful so is best used as a tactical weapon rather than to wipe people out.

His best events are Zombie Roadkill and Total Massacre due to his Rockets which if doubled up, can wipe out a mass load of the undead before you run out and have to go off and find a weapon pick-up. He is least effective at Checkpoint Races, because his shockwave can't hit everyone at once and the likes of Superstar and Kelley can easily outrun him so make the most of the combat events to build up a lead.

  • Complete the Hardcore Cup with Brock

I thought using Brock would be a real pain with his huge slow freight truck but I was surprised at how effective he was in most events. His truck can be cumbersome to steer at times in narrow spaces and the zombies that deal damage like Leapers and Lobbers take full advantage of this but once in full stride, his truck is deadly and his special attack turns his truck into a battering ram from hell that can wipe out almost everyone with a well timed full speed ram. His starting weapon are grenades which may suit some but I found them lacking in the combat modes and looked for other weapons.

His best events are Demolition Derby and Total Massacre, Brock can take a good amount of damage before biting the dust so you can clean up on those events when you exploit the loadouts that give him a full Rage Meter. his worst event is King of the Skull, because Brock is way too slow to outrun people with the skull and equally too slow to catch whoever has it so these will be very low scoring events.

  • Rack up over 100 kills in a single Killing Spree

When you kill 5 zombies in quick succession, you will see a red skull icon on the left of the screen which is your combo meter. Get it to 25 before the red ring around it has disappeared and it will be extended as indicated by the on screen slowing down and a word from the announcer. The gradient is always by 25 so your aim is to get 25 kills, then 50, then 75 and finally 100.

You should get this whilst doing Challenge #1 by using the Harpoon pick-up on The Gauntlet so see the Legend...wait for it...ARY! trophy for more details. The truth is although you'll get this a few times by not trying, it sometimes gets broken by the other A.I. players killing you which stops your chain.

  • Multiplayer: Come in first in 5 King of the Skull Events

As mentioned in the Road Map, you can compete with the A.I. on this despite the multiplayer caveat in the description. To begin a match simply choose to play a multiplayer game and to Host, pick your driver and the game will quickly look for other human players. When it doesn't find any it will begin your chosen event with A.I. players.

King of the Skull events are tricky sometimes and can be a pain but there's ways and means to get away with more time with the skull. For my strategy I chose Superstar and the Triple Threat loadout on the Ded-Lite Stadium. Once I was close to whoever had the skull from the start I would Flashbling them to a stand-still and ram them to take the skull and for the rest of the match, I would circle the perimeter of the arena and keep ducking into the little tunnels to lose the chasers, and sometimes I would use the ramps to climb the structure in the middle and circle the platform at the highest point, it takes the A.I. ages to get up after you and once they were up I would launch myself down and continue circling the arena. I averaged each match with about 1:40 of skull possession this way so try that if you have trouble with your own set-up.

Once you win the fifth match of King of the Skull the trophy will unlock.

  • Multiplayer: Come in first in 5 Checkpoint Race Eventsg99

As mentioned in the Road Map, you can compete with the A.I. on this despite the multiplayer facet in the description. To begin a match just choose to play a multiplayer game and to Host, pick your driver and the game will quickly look for other human players. When it doesn't find any it will begin your chosen event with A.I. players.

For this one make sure you have chosen the 'Checkpoint Rally' event as it's the only one which qualifies for this trophy so simply collect the checkpoint markers before your opponents. Once again, Superstar and his Flashbling used at the start of any checkpoint race gives you a big advantage so play on this to make it much easier. Once you finish 1st for the 5th time, your trophy will pop.

  • Complete the Hardcore Cup with all Drivers

Self explanatory really and is the culmination of completing the Blood Drive Championship Hardcore with every character, there are 30 events across 'x' zones in the BDCH and it's not too dissimilar to the rest of the game.

  • Place first in every Event in Tournament Mode

The hardest trophy in the game and probably the one that will put many people off going for the Platinum. Yet despite it being hard, it's actually a hell of a lot easier than it could have been thanks to the fact you can restart a zone when you fail as opposed to the entire Cup/Championship. Below is a list of Championships along with how many events there are in it and crucially how many zones it's made up of.

    • The Ante Cup - 1 Zone/3 Events
    • Three of a Kind Cup - 2 Zones/6 Events (3 in each)
    • Aces High Cup - 3 Zones/10 Events (3,4,3)
    • Wild Card Cup - 4 Zones - 14 Events (3,4,3,4)
    • Royal Straight Cup - 4 Zones/14 Events (3,4,3,4)
    • Blood Drive Championship - 6 Zones/30 Events (5 in each)
    • Blood Drive Championship Hardcore - 6 Zones/30 Events (5 in each)

To elaborate: If you are playing the Royal Straight Cup for example and you placed first in the first 6 events but then you were making a horrible arse of the seventh, you can pause and select to 'Restart Zone' This will take you to the beginning of The Strip zone which is event number 4. The bad news is that as you can see, you will need to string at least 3/4/5 first place finishes together on an almost constant basis and do not be surprised if you need just one more win and the A.I seem to go nuts and not give you a chance, it likes to do this so be warned. Now the good news is at least it's not from start to finish, 30 in a row would be just pure sadistic.

And with that, here's a few general pointers to help you in category of events. Before that though, it should be stated that you can choose to do this with whoever you prefer. Every driver has their own strengths and weaknesses and so play around and maybe complete all of the Championship completion trophies for each character before deciding on who you prefer. I personally went with Superstar for reasons I'll state in each description but the choice is yours.

    Event: Checkpoint Rally

Use your boost bar sensibly. It often takes nothing to jolt your car in a 180 flip leaving you facing the wrong direction which normally spells the end of your run so use them only when you can handle the turbo and never on a turn.

Try not to get into heavy combat with anybody and avoid gunfights, you will rarely benefit from this when you really should be concentrating on reaching your next checkpoint.

If you can, grab a pick up of Mines. They are useless in every other scenario except races so if you see some and are in the lead, swing by them and plant one after another as you go until they run out as they will help keep the chasing pack off your tail.

    My Strategy:

    Driver and Loadout: Superstar/Pimped

With this combination I rarely have any trouble with checkpoint events. The Pimped perk gives you a Full Rage Meter, a Full Boost and Engine Upgrade so is ideal here. get ready to be straight out of the blocks on the countdown and the split second you hear 'Go!' hit to activate Flashbling which will stop every other competitor from making a move. You can get a good 5 second lead this way and once you are out of harms way it becomes so much easier to just focus on the checkpoints. Use your boost if you need to and always keep giving the mini map just a fleeting glimpse to make sure nobody is too close, if they are then hit them with another Flashbling to dash their hopes of overtaking you.

    Event: Checkpoint Elimination

Pretty much all of the above. All the hints mentioned are applicable here and my strategy is the exact same for this event, the only difference with this event is that the person in last keeps getting eliminated every 30 seconds but that's neither here nor there as far as coming first is concerned.

    Zombie Roadkill

The aim of the game here is to wipe out as many zombies as you can in the 4 minutes you start with. The A.I. will be killing their way through their share but pay them no attention and stick to the job at hand. If you have a poor weapon, look for Saw Blades, a Minigun or ideally a Harpoon pick-up and wipe out as many undead as you can. If you run out of ammo, remember where the pick ups are and head back there where it should have respawned or find another one. These are easy for even the worst characters as long as you retain a good supply of these weapons, all others are pretty much useless.

    My Strategy:

    Driver and Loadout: Superstar/Getting Personal

As Superstar begins with Harpoons as his weapon, this perk will double the ammo up to 50. Just hit the gas and fire constantly in all directions, the Harpoons will stick in the ground and blow up taking out a few zombies every time. If you run out you can find another pick up and go again or come to a halt, let the undead kill you and respawn with a fresh 50 to go. Just try not to get killed with a high chain kill as you lose it if you die.

    Roadkill Elimination

    Ditto the above.

    Demolition Derby

This is the event that pits cars against each other, there's no points for killing zombies so this one is a tactical event. Every player including yourself has a damage meter that starts green, then turns amber and then red when critical. Keep an eye on these bars above each A.I. car and home in on the red bar enemies to try and land the killing blow and register a kill. Hard hitting weapons are best here, the Rail Gun is deadly if you can get it on target, and the Rockets aren't bad either. The aim is to register more kills than any other opponent before the time runs out.

    My Strategy:

    Driver and Loadout: Superstar/Triple Threat

Though Brock and Natalya are very strong in these events, Superstar has the edge. Though the AI do fight each other, they also tend to come to you a lot which is ideal really. Let them wear each other down before you come in and let a Flashbling go to bring everyone to a standstill, and unload at the weakest person to bag a kill. If you can, try and pick up a rail gun or rockets to ad further weight to this tactic as well and don't give up either, I often was 4th or so in the last 30 seconds then got a quick succession of 3-4 kills to push me into 1st.

    King of the Skull

This event is enjoyable with the right characters but very frustrating with the slower people and those who take an age to steer. The event begins with a randomly placed skull indicate by a golden light in the sky beaming straight down to it, the first person to it picks it up and a timer begins for them. To get it from them you have to either ram them or destroy them, after which the skull appears over your car and your timer begins and on it goes. If the carrier dies by accident, the skull respawns in a random location and so begins the cycle again. This event is dominated by the stable and quick characters so ensure you are one of them.

    My Strategy:

    Driver and Loadout: Superstar/Pimped

If you can get to the skull first then great but don't worry if not. Watch the mini-map and follow it until you catch whoever has the skull, now pull up as close as you can and hit your special move. The carrier will immediately slow down and coast forwards, just ram them quickly and drive off with the skull. Even though Superstar isn't the fastest person, his car is definitely the best at handling so those that can catch you can be lost with a clever turn, I was able more often than not once I got the hang of things to retain the skull for the rest of the round after picking it up.

    Total Massacre

Everything mentioned in the Zombie Roadkill method will work here, it's practically the same event except kills on other cars count too but it's still only a single kill on the board so not even worth focusing on. Stay focused on the zombies and if you see a clean and easy shot for a kill on an A.I. opponent then go for it but the zombies are easily where the points are.

Events in each zone are random unless you are playing via a 'Restart Zone' in which case they will follow the same pattern but if you simply don't like whatever event it is that's stopping you, quit out to the main screen then find your way back to 'Continue Cup' and it will have shuffled the events and hopefully have dealt you a kinder hand.

Above all, have patience because this one will test you many times over. Just stick to your game plan and maybe switch up small things like your perks as sometimes it can be something simple like you always run out of ammo too soon so a double ammo perk will see you right. Once you place first in the last event of the last zone of the last championship, your hard earned trophy will pop.

  • Kill 20,000 Zombies

If you pursue all other trophies, this will come naturally and probably could have done about a half a dozen times over. I would say on average, you'll get somewhere in the region of at least 2,500 zombie kills per Blood Drive Championship and that's without even trying. As you'll be completing the BDC at least 8 times you should have unlocked it before the end of you're last run but that's without even mentioning the 8 more runs on BDC Hardcore, the preliminary cups and all the Challenges.

Should you wish to force the issue and earn it as quickly as possible, select to play a Single Event from the main menu and choose anybody you like. When it comes to choosing your event, select Zombie Roadkill and as your perk I'd go with anything that gives you double ammo e.g. 'Getting Personal' is as good a choice as any. Now simply proceed to wipe out as many of the undead as you can in the time limit. Regardless of where you finish, your total will be contributed to the running total, simply repeat until your trophy pops. It's worth noting that the cumulative total carries over to all game modes, including multiplayer.
