Do you like Dark Souls? Can't get enough of Metroidvania's? Ever wondered what would happen if you transported Hollow Knight into a world ravaged by religious blasphemy, living out its version of the Spanish Inquisiton? Then you have come to the right place! The story follows our hero, The Penitent One, as he travels through the land of Custodia, which has been ravaged for centuries by The Miracle, a mysterious, supernatural entity, manifesting itself in blessings and curses upon the people of the land. Fight your way through the abominations the inhabitants of this land have become and find true salvation in penance.

Trophy-wise the game has your typical array for this type of game: Beat all bosses, get all the collectables, complete all sidequests and do a short speedrun. There are a lot of missable trophies due to the fact that you can reach cut-off points for some of the sidequests and thus won't be rewarded with upgrades that allow you to reach certain other places/get yet other items which are tied to more trophies. Having said that though, as long as you keep in mind a few things while going through the game you should be fine so don't stress other it too much. Technically they are two trophies that would require you to play through the game (partially) for a 2nd time: One being Crossings Souls OR Rebirth , depending which one you get in your 1st run through the game. You can get both in one run with a bit of save scumming though. The other being Bronze Medal . For this trophy you have to reach the halfway point of the game in three hours or less. While this is easily achievable if you know your way around the game, doing it on your very first run might mean that you will forget to do certain side activities required for other trophies and also suck out some of the enjoyment out of the game. Due to this, I will write the guide from the standpoint of you going through the game twice (at least partially).

Step 0 - Things to look out for

Before we start, here are few things you should keep in mind while playing the game:
  • This walkthrough won't tell you how get each and every item in the game. Check the Trophy Guide for that.
  • This walkthrough, will however help you through the game so that you do not miss any missable items/trophies along the way. This means that you are able to go back and get everything without worries at the end. If you are diligent in picking up items/collectibles and completing sidequests while playing this will (drastically) cut down clean up-time.
  • Beat every boss without healing: This is required for the Requiem Aeternam trophy. Simply do not heal (press ) during any boss fight and the trophy should pop when you finish the game. See Requiem Aeternam for more information.
  • Kissers of Wounds: Before defeating any boss (other than the Warden of Silent Sorrow) bring any healing herb you can find to Tirso in Albero. See Mediterranean Diet for more information.
  • Viridiana: Viridiana is an NPC that offers to help you during certain boss fights. You have to let her help you three times in order to finish her sidequest and get the Last Breath trophy as well as prayer for Firm Devotion . Letting her help you and subsequently getting healed during a boss fight does not void Requiem Aeternam !
  • Gémino: Gémino's sidequests starts immediately upon entering Where Olive Trees Wither. See The Desire of the Corrupted for more information.
  • Perpetua: Perpetua is a mini-boss encountered shortly after the first Prie Dieu in the Mountains of the Endless Dusk. You have to defeat her for the The Sister trophy. However, you only have one chance to beat her per save file, as she permanently disappears should she defeat you! So back up your save file, just in case! See The Sister for more information.
  • Cleofás: His sidequest can have two different outcomes. However, you will only be able to properly start/advance his sidequest near the end of the game so do not stress over it too much. See Crossing Souls and Rebirth for more information.

  • Unlock all of the Trophies.

As per usual, collect all the other trophies to get the Platinum. If you want to watch a full run through the game, then feel free to check out the following playlist: LINK
  • Unlock ending A.

Though it may be a bit misleading, Ending A is actually the "true" ending of the game for which you have to satisfy a couple of prerequisites, namely completing all of the seven arena battles (see Detestatio Sacrorum). Once you have done this, your 'Thorn' item should have evolved to the 'Cvstodia of Sin'. With this in your inventory beat the last boss (see Summa Blasphemia for more info) and the ending, as well as this trophy, should unlock. You will also unlock the 'Son of the Miracle' aspect (outfit) by getting this ending.

    WARNING:

Keep in mind that getting the 'Cvstodia of Sin' will lock you out of Ending B so if you want to get both endings in one playthrough, be sure to get Ending B before finishing all seven arenas!
  • Unlock ending B.

    Missable

Though it may be a bit misleading, Ending B is actually the "normal"/"bad" ending of the game. Play through the game and beat the last boss (see Summa Blasphemia for more info) without getting the 'Cvstodia of Sin' item (see Detestatio Sacrorum) and you will get this ending. You will also unlock the 'True Apostasy' aspect (outfit) by getting this ending. Afterwards you can go and complete the arenas/get the 'Cvstodia of Sin' and beat the last boss again to get Ending A.
  • Get all prayers.

    Missable

Prayers' are Blasphemous' version of spells, activated by using up your fervor (blue bar in the top left corner) by pressing . You can find a total of 13 prayers in the game and you have to get them all to obtain this trophy. Later on in the game you will come across Cleofàs, whose quest has to be done in a certain way to get the 'Tiento to your Thorned Hairs' prayer. Failing to do this will not get you the prayer and thus this trophy for the current playthrough (see Rebirth for more information). To find them please refer to the following list or the video below:
    1. Verdiales of the Forsaken Hamlet: The Holy Line. You will across this naturally on your way to Albero.
    2. Següiriya to your Eyes like Stars: Mercy Dreams. About halfway through Mercy Dream you can come upon a golden chest. After getting the prayer, you will be locked into the room and have to defeat a couple of enemies to get out.
    3. Saeta Dolorosa: Where Olive Trees Wither. It is in the tomb of The Lady of the Tailed Gown. Getting into the tomb is (somewhat) related to Gémino's quest (see The Desire of the Corrupted for more information).
    4. Zarabanda of the Safe Haven: You get this from Viridiana after having her help you defeat three bosses. Alternatively, if you did not let her help you, you will encounter her just before the last boss where she will give you this prayer.
    5. Soleá of Excommunication: Jondo. Requires Three Gnarled Tongues relic. From the Prie Dieu in the middle of Jondo, move one screen to the right. You should already be able to spot the golden chest from the room entrance.
    6. Taranto to My Sister: Bridge of the Three Cavalries. You automatically get this prayer after defeating Esdras, of the Anointed Legion.
    7. Lorquiana: Library of Negated Words. Requires Blood Perpetuated in Sand relic. You should spot the golden chest that holds this prayer while naturally progressing through the Library of Negated Words. It is in the later half of the stage, halfway between the Prie Dieu and the entrance to The Sleeping Canvases.
    8. Cante Jondo of the Three Sister: Archcathedral Rooftops. Requires Linen of Golden Thread and Blood Perpetuated in Sand relics. From the Prie Dieu on the top, move two screens to the right (through the elevator) and fall down the hole. From here, make your way back left and you will come to the golden chest with this prayer.
    9. Debla of the Lights: Albero. Given by Lvduvico after you bring him all three parts of Tentudia's remains. You can find her Carnal Remains in Wasteland of the Buried Churches, before the entrance to Mercy Dreams under the bridge. Blood PErpetuated in Sand relic required. Her Hair can be found in Where Olive Trees Wither, in the top left corner. Finally, her Skeletal Remains can be found in Graveyard of the Peaks, in the right section. Three Gnarled Tongues and Blood Perpetuated in Sand relics required.
    10. Zambra of the Resplendent Crown: Desecrated Cistern. Requires Nail Uprooted from Dirt relic. It is in the top right section.
    11. Romance of the Crimson Mist: Library of Negated Words. You can find this prayer near Lorquiana. You will happen upon a room with three anatomy books, that give you hints to solve a riddle. You have to find a femur, a tibia and a kneecap and read their description. To open the door, unequip everything (Rosary Beads, Prayers, Sword Hearts), fill your fervor bar and then stand still for a short while. A door to a hidden room will open, which holds this prayer.
    12. Campanillero to the Sons of the Aurora: The Sleeping Canvases. Rescue all 38 Children of Moonlight and talk to Jocinero. He will give you this prayer.
    13. Tiento to your Thorned Hairs - Missable: Albero. Tied to Cleofás sidequest. See Rebirth for more information.

If you would rather watch a video on how to get them all, please refer to the video below:

  • Get all relics.

    Missable

Relics are items that let you interact with certain objects in the world. None of them are necessary to complete the game but they are necessary to get a lot of items/collectables. You can have up to three relics equipped at the same time, though you can switch them around any time in your inventory. Some of the relics are obtained by completing certain side quests, which in turn are missable. So should you miss out on the side quests, you miss out on a relic, which in turn will not let you get some of the trophies, much less this one.
    1. Shroud of Dreamt Sins - Missable: This relic is tied to the 'Kissers of Wounds' side quest (see Mediterranean Diet for more information). This will be the first reward you get from Tirso so after giving him any of the herbs and defeating a boss afterwards. However, you will not get the relic itself from Tirso but rather a Linen Cloth. Take this to the Blessed Lord of the Salt Shore in the fountain in Albero. He will bless the cloth and you will get the relic.
    2. Blood Perpetuated in Sand: Brotherhood of the Silent Sorrow. This relic is in the room of the Elder brother, which is locked. You can buy the key from Calendaria in shop in Mercy Dreams.
    3. Silvered Lung of Dolphos: Can be found in Grievance Ascends. It is in the top right corner of the map of the area. You have to climb a type of tower to get it.
    4. Three Gnarled Tongues: Tied to Altasgracias' quest. See Warm and Soft for more information.
    5. Linen of Golden Thread: Tied to Jocinero's quest. Find 20 of the Children of Moonlight (see The Bull and the Moon for more information), then talk to him in The Sleeping Canvases.
    6. Nail Uprooted from Dirt: Tied to Redento's quest. See Ultreia Et Suseiafor more information.
    7. Incorrupt Hand of the Fraternal Master: Find the Severed Hand in the Desecrated Cistern (need the Nail Uprooted from Dirt relic to be able to get it), then bring this item to the Blessed Lord of the Salty Shore in Albero's fountain.
  • Get all rosary beads.

    Missable

Rosary Beads are passive upgrades that enhance the Penitent One's stats, like protection from magical attacks, longer dodges, more health etc. You have to find all 32 Rosary Beads to get this trophy. • Phalanx of Zeth, the Prisoner

Getting all collectibles and putting them back in the Ossuary in Albero rewards you with the trophy and the 'Warden of the Ossuary' aspect (outfit).
  • Get all sword hearts.

Sword Hearts are upgrades that you can slot into Mea Culpa itself. You can only have one Sword Heart equipped at any given time and you can only change them at a Pieu Dieu. Each Sword Heart comes with a positive and negative trait.
    1. Heart of the Virtuous Pain: Wasteland of the Buried Churches. This is right beneath the exit to Where Olive Trees Wither. Cross the spiked floor by jumping from ladder to ladder and you should it in no time.
    2. Heart of the Unnamed Minstrel: Graveyard of the Peaks. This Sword Heart can be reached from the Convent of Our Lady of the Charred Visage. Once you get to the elevator that you can ride down to get back to the beginning of Graveyard of the Peaks, walk through the elevator into another room. Stand before the gate where there is blood on the ground and press to cut yourself. This will open the gate and grant access to the Sword Heart.
    3. Heart of Saltpeter Blood: Convent of Our Lady of the Charred Visage. From the Pieu Dieu in the beginning go to the bottom left. You will come to a long corridor, filled with enemies, gas and other traps. The Sword Heart is at the end of this corridor.
    4. Heart of the Holy Purge: Jondo. From the huge bell in the middle of the area, go two screens to the right. The Sword Heart is at the end of the obstacle course.
    5. Heart of Cerulean Incense: Where Olive Trees Wither, need the Three Gnarled Tongues relic to reach. In the screen left from Génimo, you can use the Three Gnarled Tongues relic to reach the top right corner exit. Follow the short corridor there to find the Sword Heart.
    6. Smoking Heart of Incense: Mother of Mothers, Blood Perpetuated in Sand relic required. In the upper levels of Mother of Mothers you will come across a long corridor with the Great Censer swinging around wildly. About 1/3 through the corridor you can use the Blood Perpetuated in Sand relic to make platforms appear. Follow the platform trail to another room. Climb to the top there (beware the Great Censer!) and you will find the Sword Heart.
    7. Molten Heart of Boiling Blood: The Sleeping Canvases, need Large Bead of Red Wax and Large Bead of Blue Wax Rosary Beads. From Candelaria's shop, move right in a straight to line to come across a room with three paintings. Two with a red and blue candle each and one with a cut hand. Equip the Large Bead of Red Wax and Large Bead of Blue Wax Rosary Beads, then press to cut yourself. This will open the door to another room where you will find the Sword Heart.
    8. Heart of Oils: Archcathedral Rooftops. Sooner or later you will come across an elevator in which you have to insert masks to be able to ascend further. On the bottom level of the elevator shaft, move to the right, down and circle back to the left, passing another Prie Dieu. The heart is one screen left of the Prie Dieu in plain sight.
    9. Heart of the Single Tone: Complete an arena challenge (see Detestatio Sacrorum for more information) to get it.
  • Discover all zones.v

To satisfy the condition of this trophy you have to uncover the whole map of the game. As you have to do that anyway to get all the collectables and their corresponding trophies, you should get this naturally while playing the game.
  • Achieve the maximum value of health.

You can increase your maximum health by finding and talking to the Lady of the Six Sorrows. Do this six times and the trophy is yours. You can find her here:
    • Desecrated Cistern. From the Prie Dieu you come to after defeating Ten Piedad, simply continue going left.
    • Graveyard of the Peaks. After riding the elevator down from the Convent of Our Lady of the Charred Visage, jump onto it and enter the room to right.
    • Desecrated Cistern. After the Tres Anguistas fight, continue to the right, through the elevator shaft.
    • Library of the Negated Words. In the room directly under the Prie Dieu in the middle of the stage, there is a hidden room to the right.
    • Archcathedral Rooftops. From the elevator that requires the three masks, continue right on the lowest floor and climb up.
    • Convent of Our Lady of the Charred Visage. You can only reach this by coming from the Wall of Holy Prohibitions. Just continue to the left from the cable cara ride.

If you would watch a video on where to find them, please refer to the one linked below:

  • Achieve the maximum value of fervor.

Fervor is this games version of "mana" and is needed to use your prayers and ranged attack. It is represent by the blue bar in the top left corner. To max out your fervor bar you have to find all 6 Oil of the Pilgrims.
    • Desecrated Cistern. This is close to the exit to Albero, in a vertical shaft. About halfway through the shaft, attack the left wall to reveal a secret area.
    • Graveyard of the Peaks. Two screens before entering the Convent of Our Lady of the Charred Visage, you will climb a vertical room. About halfway up, attack the right wall to reveal a secret area with the Oil.
    • Grievance Ascends. Requires Blood Perpetuated in Sand relic. At the bottom of the 3rd vertical shaft of the area you can find a Blood Fountain to refill your Bile Vessels. If you have the Blood Perpetuated in Sand relic equipped, you can jump along some platforms to reach this Oil of Pilgrims.
    • Mother of Mothers. At the bottom of the area attack the left wall to reveal a secret area. This is just before the entrance to Library of Negated Words.
    • Library of the Negated Words. At the end of the area attack the left wall to reveal a secret area. This is just before the entrance to The Sleeping Canvases.
    • Wall of Holy Prohibitions. In the bottom left corner of the area, in the same room as the Sphere of the Sacred Smoke Rosary Bead, attack the left wall to yet again reveal a secret area with this Oil.

If you would watch a video on where to find them, please refer to the one linked below:

  • Achieve the maximum level of the Mea Culpa sword.

To upgrade your sword you have to find Mea Culap shrines and pray at them. Each time you do this, your attack power increases. Find all 7 shrines to get the maximum power and this trophy.
    • Albero. In the first building (with Tirso) descend the ladders and go left, the shrine is there.
    • Convent of Our Lady of the Charred Visage. After defeating Our Lady of the Charred Visage, continue through to the right.
    • Brotherhood of the Silent Sorrow. After making your way through the Mountains of the Endless Dusk and entering the Brotherhood of the Silent Sorrow through the bottom entrance, go left.
    • Library of Negated Words. After defeating Expósito, Scion of Abjuration enter the elevator behind him and ride it to the top. You can find the shrine by going left.
    • Mother of Mothers. Just before fighting Melquiades, the Exhumed Archbishop, in the room with the Prie Dieu, climb to the top and exit right.
    • Archcathedral Rooftops. You need to insert at least two masks into the elevator here. From the bottom, ride it up one level, exit to the right and ascend the obstacle course to open a gate. Go back to the elevator, ride it to the next level and continie to the right in a straight line.
    • Desecrated Cistern. Requires Nail Uprooted from Dirt, Silver Lung of Dolphos and Three Gnarled Tongues relics. This one is a bit tricky. From way you entered the Desecrated for the first time after defeating Ten Piedad, go left and up. You will need the Nail Uprooted from Dirt and Silver Lung of Dolphos relics to make it through a long corridor to reach a lever, which will lower two gates. Go through them both and continue on this path until you make your way to the elevator shaft which connects to Grievance Ascends. Equip the Three Gnarled Tongues relic and make it across. In this room you will find the Chalice of Inverted Verses, which you must fill with the blood of three enemies and then return here without dying or using a teleporter (after killing a corresponding enemy). You can find the enemies in The Sleeping Canvases (the big enemy with the sarcophagus on his back), the Wall of Holy Prohibitions (the lionheaded enemies) and the Mountains of the Endless Dusk (the small enemies with the bullhead, who throw spears at you).
  • Achieve the maximum value of flasks.

'Flasks' refer to the Bil Vessels, which you use to heal yourself by pressing . You start the game with two and can find eight more for a total of ten Bile Vessels. Any time you find an 'Empty Bile Vessel' you first have to fill it up at a Sanguine Fountain by paying some Tears of Atonement.
    • Mercy Dreams. From the Prie Dieu just before Ten Piedad, go up and attack the wall to the left to reveal a secret area. The Empty Bile Vessel is at the end of this area.
    • Desecrated Cistern. Requires Blood Perpetuated in Sand relic. From entering Desecrated Cistern from the fight with Ten Piedad, make your up and to the right. You will soon come upon this Empty Bile Vessel.
    • Graveyard of the Peaks. From the Prie Dieu at the beginning make your up and right the first time you can. Time your jump with the wind over a large gap and you will come upon this Empty Bile Vessel.
    • Mountains of the Endless Dusk. Blood Perpetuated in Sand relic. After a short trip through Jondo, you will come to the second part of this area. Activate the platform over Jondo and make your way back to the beginning. On the platform in the middle you can find this Empty Bile Vessel.
    • Jondo. In the lower left area. To reach that platform it is on, climb the wall to the right with a chain of bells and a bell-ringing enemy at the top.
    • Library of Negated Words. In the shaft with the Confessor Statue at the top, destroy the floor at the bottom.
    • The Sleeping Canvases. Bought from Candelaria for 9,000 Tears of Atonement.
    • Wall of Holy Prohibitions. Requires Key of the Inquisitor (bought from Candelaria in The Sleeping Canvases). Below the Prie Dieu, on the middle level of the eight side of the area. Attack the wall to reveal a hidden jail cell.
  • Achieve the maximum value of rosary bead slots.

    Missable

In order to increase your rosary bead slots you have to find Knots of Rosary Rope and give them to Engracia (the ghost in the cellar of the Brotherhood of the Silent Sorrow). You start the game with two slots and can find six mire knots for a total of eight rosary bead slots.
    • Graveyard of the Peaks: Go left from the Prie Dieu and jump on top of the elevator to get this knot.
    • Jondo: Complete the bell puzzle in the left of the area.
    • Grievance Ascends: Need Silver Lung of Dolphos relic. At the bottom of the second shaft.
    • Mother of Mothers: Given by Redento at the end of his pilgrimage. See Ultreia et Suseia for more information.
    • The Holy Line: Requires Nail Uprooted from Dirt relic. In the screen just before entering Albero, destory the floor at the far left of the screen to reveal a secret area. You will find the knot at its end.
    • Albero: Given by Tirso for completing the Kissers of Wounds questline. See Mediterranean Diet for more information.
  • Execute 5 different enemies.

Executions let you instantly kill enemies while they are stunned. These can happen randomly while fighting or be forced by using a Righteous Riposte (see Power Unleashed for more information). You have to execute five different enemies to get this trophy. Note that you cannot execute every enemy (type) in the game. Executable enemies include:
    • Acolytes found in Mercy Dreams and Mother of Mothers (the guys with the large candle sticks)
    • Floating Pictures in The Sleeping Canvases.
    • The Crucified in Wasteland of the Buried Churches.
    • Stained Glass Assassins in Mother of Mothers.
    • Flagellants in Mercy Dreams and Wall of Holy Prohibition.
    • Shieldmaidens found in Wasteland of the Buried Churches.
    • Wheelcarriers found in The Holy Line.
  • Use the Righteous Riposte 5 times.

The Righteous Riposte is a mechanic that you lets parry enemy attacks and counterattack yourself. By pressing you enter a counter stance, if an enemy hits you during this time The Penitent One will automatically counterattack. If you then press at the exact moment your counterattack hits the enemy and will instantly become stunned and executable. Do this five times and the trophy is yours.
  • Defeat the 51 original types of enemies.

This should come naturally while playing. Simply kill every enemy you come across at least once and this trophy will pop after defeating Crisanta of the Wrapped Agony in Archcathedral Rooftops.
  • Buy all skills from the Mea Culpa shrines.

Everytime you find a Mea Culpa shrine (see Mea Culpa for more information) you will be able to further upgrade The Penitent One's arsenal of moves. Find all seven shines and subsequently buy all upgrades and you will get this trophy.
  • Kill 666 enemies.

This should come naturally while progressing through the game. Simply kill 666 enemies and the trophy will be yours.
  • Provoke the meeting between Redento and Cleofás.

    Missable

This trophy can be only be obtained at a very specific point during two questlines. You should get it if you follow the walkthrough written above. To get it, follow these steps:
    1. Help Redento in Jondo by activating the moving platforms.
    2. Help Redento in the Brotherhood of the Silent Sorrow by navigating the maze and destroying the wall to create a shortcut.
    3. Get all three Marks of Refuge in Archcathedral Rooftops and bring them to Socorro. Afterwards talk to Cleofás.
    4. Talk to Cleofás in Archcathedral Rooftops twice (have to leave the screen inbetween) to have him commit suicide.
    5. Help Redento in Wasteland of the Buried Churches by opening the shortcut.
    6. Speak to Redento in front of Cleofás corpse in Patio of the Silent Steps.

You cannot get this trophy if you:
    • Advance Redento's questline beyond the Patio of the Silent Steps before Cleofás commits suicide.
    • Put Socorro out of her misery.
    • Offered Socorro the three Marks of Refuge and obtained the Cord of True Burying from Ludovico before having Cleofás commit suicide.

Note that this trophy is at odds with Rebirth. If you want to get both trophies in one run, please refer to the Walkthrough above on how to do this.
  • Beat all bosses without flask consumption.

    Missable

This may be the hardest trophy in the game, as you are not allowed to use your healing items (Bile Vessels) during boss fights. You are allowed to use sword hearts and prayers, though so make liberate use of them. Should you need help on a boss, please refer to the corresponding boss trophy, as I will link to videos which achieved this there.

    Important Note:

If you are playing on another version of the game as the current one, be sure to not equip the Heart of the Holy Purge during any bossfight! The sword heart is glitched on older patches and may void this trophy. I tested this on the current patch and it seems to have fixed issue (as I had the sword heart equipped and still got the trophy) so be sure to patch the game!
  • Cross the Bronze door on the Bridge of the Three Calvaries in less than 3 hours.

    Missable

This should be easily achievable on a repeat playthrough of the game when you are more familiar with the game. For the trophy to pop, you have to cross the door through which you enter the Patio of the Silent Steps, after defeating Esdras in under three hours. For reference, on my speedrun I made it through the door at around the 1hr 40min mark, while still completing a sidequest here and there and going out of the way to collect upgrades. You can watch the run in the following video:

  • Get 100% of the game.

  • Release all cherubs.

The Cherubs are small little children that are trapped in glass containers carried by flying hands. Destroy the container by any means to free them. Free all 38 of them and this trophy is yours. They are not particularly hard to find as they are all in plain sight. You should be able to easily collect all of them while going for other objectives/trophies. For reference, you will find them in the following areas:
    • 1 in the Brotherhood of the Silent Sorrow
    • 1 in The Holy Line
    • 1 in Albero
    • 2 in the Wasteland of the Buried Churches
    • 1 in Mercy Dreams

    • 1 in Archcathedral Rooftops
    • 4 in Wall of Holy Prohibitions
  • Talk with all the corpses.

    Missable

You can find a total of 26 corpses all over Cvstodia. To be able to talk to them you need to have the Shroud of Dreamt Sins relic equipped, which is missable (see Skin and Bones for more information). If you miss the relic, you will not be able to get this trophy. The corpses themselves are easy enough to find and you most certainly stumble upon them while searching for the other (more important) collectibles.
  • Beat all the arena challenges.

You can find the combat arenas by destroying the Confessor Statues found at various points throughout the game and entering the portal they leave behind. However, you can only enter the portal(s) with the Weight of True Guilt rosary bead equipped (see Mysteria Lucis for more information). Once you enter a combat arena, defeat all enemies to complete it. To have the easiest time with them, wait until you have collected all other upgrades. They will be a breeze after that. You can find the statues here:
    • Mercy Dreams. Right at the beginning of the area, up and right of the first area.
    • Graveyard of the Peaks. Where you initially found the Immaculate Bead, to the left of the Prie Dieu.
    • Brotherhood of the Silent Sorrow. Use the lower entrance, it is the fourth room on the left.
    • Grievance Ascends. Use the top right exit on the second shaft.
    • Library of the Negated Words. Two screens to the left of the Prie Dieu, at the top of the vertical shaft.
    • Mother of Mother's. In the room before Archcathedral Rooftops. Use the lower right exit.
    • Wall of Holy Prohibitions. From where you fought Quirce, go top left.

    IMPORTANT:

Note that completing all seven arenas will transform your Thorn quest item into the Cvstodia of Sin, locking you out of Ending B if you haven't gotten it yet (see Path of the Unworthy for more information)!
  • Visit the tomb of The Lady of the Tailed Gown.

This is located in Where Olive Trees Wither. You can enter it two ways:
    • Complete Gémino's sidequest. Gémino is located right at the entrace of Where Olive Trees Wither. Speak to him to get an Empty Golden Thimble which you have to fill with oil in Convent of Our Lady of the Charred Visage. The oil can be found in the room right after Our Lady of the Charred Visage. Fill the thimble and bring it back to Gémino. This will unlock a secret cave a ways left of Gémino (where you can find the Incense Garlic), getting you the Frozen Olive rosary bead and an entrance to the tomb, if you also picked up the Dried Flowers Bathed in Tears in Convent of Our Lady of the Charred Visage, right before the Our Lady of the Charred Visage boss fight. Place the flowers atop the grave and jump into it to get this trophy (and also find the Saeta Dolorosa prayer).
    • Get the Linen of Golden Thread relic from Jocinero (see Skin and Bones for more information). With this relic, fall down the bottomless pit in the screen left of Gémino and leave the cave you fall into to the left to get to the tomb.
  • Bring all the offerings to Lvdovico.

Lvduvico is the priest in Albero that you can speak to through the church's window. He wants you to find the remains of Tentudia, which have been scattered across the land. You can find them here:
    • Tentudia's Carnal Remains: Wasteland of the Buried Churches. Requires Blood Perpetuated in Sand relic. Just before the entrance to Mercy Dreams, under the bridge.
    • Remains of Tentudia's Hair: Graveyard of the Peaks. To the far left of the stage.
    • Tentudia's Skeletal Remains: Graveyard of the Peaks. Requires Blood Perpetuated in Sand and Three Gnarled Tongues relics. This is at the top of the far right section.
Lvduvico will reward you with Tears of Atonement and ultimately the Debla of the Lights prayer.
  • Witness the last moments of Viridiana.

    Missable

To get this trophy you have to let Viridiana help you during three different boss battles. As it is not required that she helps you during boss battles and because she can only help you during five of the ten boss battles of the game, you may miss this trophy. The bosses she can help you with are:
    • Ten Piedad
    • Our Lady of the Charred Visage
    • Tres Angustias
    • Expósito, Scion of Abjuration
    • Melquiades, the Exhumed Archbishop

If you do not let her help you, she will still give you the prayer (Zarabanda of the Safe Haven) near the end of the game. However, this will not unlock this trophy!
  • Help Cleofas on his path of redemption.

    Missable

You can find Cleofás in the second half of the game, in Mother of Mother's. He is a priest tasked with taking of Socorro, the pious Lady of the Perpetual Agony. If you are following the Walkthrough written above, you should get this trophy along the way. To get this trophy you have to complete the quest in specific way:
    1. Talk to Cleofás in Mother of Mother's.
    2. Defeat the three Soldiers of the Anointed Legion in Archcathedral Rooftops to get three Marks of Refuge. Give these to Socorro and talk to Cleofás.
    3. IMPORTANT! Backtrack to Albero and talk to Lvduvico. He will give you the Cord of the True Burying.
    4. With the Cord of the True Burying in hand, talk to Cleofás in Archcathedral Rooftops.
    5. Backtrack to Albero and speak with Cleofás in the church.

This will complete the quest, get you the trophy and the Tiento to Your Thorned Hairs prayer.

You can fail this quest by either:
    • Ending Socorro's suffering by killing her (Cleofás will relocate to a cell in the Wall of Holy Prohibitions).
    • Talking to Cleofás in Archcathedral Rooftops without the Cord of True Burying in your inventory.

Also note that, that his outcome is at odds with Crossing Souls, though you can get both endings by backing up your save file. Refer to the Walkthrough on how to do this.
  • Help the Pilgrim reach his final destination.

The pilgrim the trophy description refers to is Redento. You have to help him a total of 5 times throughout the game to get him to his final destination. You can find him in the following locations:
    1. Jondo. Activate the platforms via the lever at the other side of the chasm, then talk to him again. He will give the Fourth Toe Made of Limestone rosary bead.
    2. Brotherhood of the Silent Sorrow. Traverse the short maze area, then destroy the wall to the left and talk to him again.
    3. Wasteland of the Buried Churches. Do Not help him here if you are going for the Crossing Souls trophy until you have taken care of Cleofás. Otherwise, open the shortcut over the spike pits to help him advance. He will reward you with Little Toe Made of Limestone
    4. Patio of the Silent Steps. Kill the monster in his way. He will reward you with Big Toe Made of Limestone. If Cleofás killed himself, Redento will comment on it. This unlocks the Crossing Souls trophy.
    5. Mother of Mother's. You will meet him again in the top right corner of Mother of Mother's, in front of the First Pilgrim's statue. Equip all three rosary beads he gave you to reveal a secret area with the Nail Uprooted from Dirt relic. Go back to the statue and then enter the secret area once more to finish Redento's quest.
  • Bring all the offerings to the Blessed Lord of Salty Shores.

    Missable

You can find the Blessed Lord of Salty Shores by interacting with the fountain in Albero, next to the Prie Dieu. To get the trophy, you have to bring him three different items:
    • Linen Cloth: This is tied to Tirso's sidequest and is missable. See Mediterranean Diet for more information.
    • Hatched Egg of Deformity: You get this during Altasgracias' sidequest. See Warm and Soft for more information.
    • Severed Hand: Found in the Desecrated Cistern, requires the Nail Uprooted from Dirt relic. You can find this right in the middle of the cistern, near where the Sanguine Fountain is.
  • Save all Kissers of Wounds.

    Missable

The infamous Kissers of Wounds quest. Messing this quest up will lock you out of a lot of trophies so make it a priority to keep it in mind while playing, especially when going for 100% completion. To complete this quest, you have to go and give Tirso herbs you can find throughout the game. However, you have to give one herb before defeating a boss. Failing to do so will kill off one of the wounded characters and lock you of rewards. You will know if one of them died if a grave appears to the right of the church (where Ludovico is) in Albero. These are the herbs you can give Tirso and where to find them:
    1. Bouquet of Thyme: Albero. Just before the Ten Piedad boss fight in Mercy Dreams, you can find a teleporter which will take you back to Albero. The herb is in this room.
    2. Incense Garlic: Where Olive Trees Wither. From Gémino, continue to the left into a cave. The garlic is there.
    3. Dried Clove: Mountains of Endless Dusk. This is in the screen between Jondo and the Brotherhood of the Silent Sorrow. It's hard to miss.
    4. Bouquet of Rosemary: Jondo. After crashing into Grievance Ascends, immediately go back into Jondo and to the right. The herb is at the end of this corridor.
    5. Olive Seeds: Patio of the Silent Steps. This is about halfway through the stage. If you have entered Mother of Mother's, you've obviously gone too far.
    6. Sooty Garlic: The Sleeping Canvases. This is near the entrance to the stage, in the screen just after the Prie Dieu.
It does not matter which herb you give to Tirso before which boss, as long as you give him one. Also, I gave Tirso the Olive Seeds and the Sooty Garlic before defeating Expósito and this couldn't give him any more before defeating Melquiades. I believe it is ok to give Tirso multiple herbs before defeating a boss and none for the next boss(es), Providing he has more herbs "in stock" when you defeat the bosses. Further testing might be needed to confirm this, though.
  • Buy all the items in the Candelaria shops.

You can find Candelaria at various points throughout the game. Buy all items in each of her shops and you will get this trophy.

    Mercy Dreams:
    • Key to the Chamber of the Eldest Brother (400)
    • Hollow Pearl (1,000)
    • Moss Preserved in Glass (1,500)
    Graveyard of the Peaks:
    • Torn Bridal Ribbon (800)
    • Calcified Eye of Erudition (1,200)
    • Ember of the Holy Cremation (5,000)
    The Sleeping Canvases:
    • Wicker Knot (4,000)
    • Empty Bile Vessel (9,000)
    • Key of the Inquisitor (9,999)
  • Hatch the Egg of Altasgracias.

This trophy is tied to Altasgracias' sidequest. They can be found at the bottom of Grievance Ascends, inside a huge hairy egg. In order to open the egg and start the sidequest, you have to offer three different items first:
    • Torn Bridal Ribbon: Can ber bought from Candelaria in Graveyard of the Peaks.
    • Black Grieving Veil: Can be found in the middle section of Desecrated Cistern, near the hidden Oil of Pilgrims, in a room filled with gas.
    • Melted Golden Coins: Requires Blood Perpetuated in Sand relic. Can be found in Grievance Ascends. From the Prie Dieu before Tres Angustias, go one screen left, climb the vertical shaft and exit to the top right. Follow the path here to the end to find the coins.
After you have offered all three items, you can talk to Altasgracias, which will give you the Egg of Deformity. Take this egg to where you fought Perpetua in the Mountains of the Endless Dusk and place it in the tree there. Leave the screen and return to get the Hatched Egg of Deformity and this trophy.

Bring the hatched egg to the Blessed Lord of Salty Shores to receive the Three Gnarled Tongues relic. You can also return to where Altasgracias' was to get another rosary bead.
  • Beat Perpetua.

    Missable

You encounter Perpetua in the Mountains of the Endless Dusk, shortly after the Prie Dieu. This is your only chance at fighting her, if she defeats you, she will permanently leave and have to start a new save to fight her again so back up your safe before fighting her, just in case. The fight itself is pretty simply but her attacks hurt so make it a priority to avoid her attacks. If you need help with the fight, check the video below:
