Astro Bot Rescue Mission is an awesomely fun and cute VR platformer that everyone with a PSVR should play as soon as possible. If you have a PSVR you should play the Robots Rescue mini-game in The Playroom VR. If you like it and want more, Astro Bot is the game for you as it’s the same but with 25 new levels, challenges and bosses.

The platinum is pretty straight forward but can be challenging. Completing the game and rescuing every bots shouldn’t be a problem, but you’ll also have to complete 26 challenges with Gold medals and some of them can be tricky and require a couple of tries.
But enough talking, go play the game it’s awesome!

Step 1: Complete the game, rescue every bot and collect every chameleon

There are 5 Worlds and 5 levels per world to complete. Each level will be unlocked by completing the previous one, the 5th level of a world being a boss. You don’t have to collect every bot in this step but to unlock some levels/worlds you’ll need to rescue a certain number of bots, so collect everything you can by looking and exploring everywhere. Most of the time you’ll be able to collect everything without looking at a guide if you take the time to explore everything.

Step 2: Clean-up collectibles, complete all challenges

To unlock every challenge you’ll need to find all chameleons in the game and defeat all bosses. There’s 1 chameleon per level, so replay the levels if you’re missing some of them.

You’ll need to get the gold medals in every challenges to rescue all bots. The boss challenges will need to be completed without getting damaged and the others challenges will be races to finish under a time limit or enemies to defeat to get a certain number of points. Some challenges can be pretty tricky and will require a couple of tries.

Step 3: Clean-up

After completing the game and the challenges, you can go to the Astro Ship and play the crane game to collect every toy. If you need more coins, replay the credits and smash the golden letters. Replay any level to get the last miscellaneous trophies you need, you can only replay boss levels in the challenge belt.

Move your Booty!

Completed the first stage
Story related and cannot be missed.

This trophy will pop after you complete the very first level, 1-1 High-Rise Hijinks. After watching the introduction cutscenes, look at the planet on your left to access World 1 and simply play and complete the first level.
Root canal

Defeated the Gorilla Boss
Story related and cannot be missed.

After completing all 4 levels of World 1, you will unlock the boss level, Tooth Fairy.

This is a pretty simple boss. The giant Gorilla will bite the platform you’re on and you will have to jump to avoid being hit by the fire. After that you’ll have to hit his teeth to break them. When one tooth is broken, you need to use your grappling hook with the and pull it. Do that with every one of his teeth and you will defeat the boss.
Explosive Date

Defeated the Octopus Boss
Story related and cannot be missed.

After completing all 4 levels of World 2, you will unlock the boss level, Hot Date.

The giant Octopus will throw some enemies on the different platforms you’re on and you’ll have to kill them all with either Astro bot or with your the water using if they’re on fire. You will also have to avoid his tentacles, you’ll see where they’re going to hit as the platforms will move and glow just before. Then the boss will throw a lava boulder at you, you will need to hit it with the water and then pick it up and throw it at the boss with Astro bot. Do that until you defeat him.
Teriyaki

Defeated the Bird Boss
Story related and cannot be missed.

After completing all 4 levels of World 3, you will unlock the boss level, Little Birdie.

The giant Bird will try to make you fall from the platforms so you will need to jump and try to stay on it, while avoiding the different enemies he’s also throwing at you. Then he will smash the platform with his beak and you will need to lure it to the target. He will get stuck so use your grappling hook on him and jump on it with Astro bot to go and hit him. You will then need to jump on the different leaves to reach another platform and repeat the process until he’s defeated.
Heartbreak

Defeated the Spider Boss
Story related and cannot be missed.

After completing all 4 levels of World 4, you will unlock the boss level, Swingin’ Sister.

The giant Spider will throw some eggs on the platform you’re on and you’ll need to break them or kill the enemies once they pop. Then the spider will throw some cobweb wires that you need to cut with your shurikens until she falls on the ground and you can hit her with Astro bot. Do that until the last wave where you’ll need to throw shurikens at her clothes until she falls and die.
Sushi Roll

Defeated the Shark Boss
Story related and cannot be missed.

After completing all 4 levels of World 5, you will unlock the boss level, Catch of the Day.

You will first need to avoid the different enemies and obstacles the giant Shark is throwing at you, until you reach a platform with some other enemies and a dynamite. Pick it up and throw it at the boss before he’s biting you. The second wave you’ll need to jump on the different platforms and avoid the ones he’s going to destroy, you’ll see a target below them. You’ll finally reach a boat with multiple yellow barrels that you’ll need to throw at the boss, then you’ll obtain the submachine gun that you can use with to kill the enemies until the boss reappear and you kill him with your gun.
E.T. crawl home

Defeated the Alien and completed the game

After completing all Worlds and defeating all bosses, you will unlock the last boss level, Final Showdown.

The giant Alien will also have a controller and will be able to use the same weapons that you’ve been using through the game. So first you’ll need to avoid being hit by the water, the shurikens or the missiles he’s throwing at you and he will then smash his controller on the platform. This is the moment where you need to hit his hand with Astro bot. He will then have giant fire gloves and will try to hit you, so you need to use your water to hit the fire glove and protect you. In the second wave he will also have some kind of bamboo saber that you need to cut with your shurikens. He will then finally throw all sorts of things at you and you’ll need to use your submachine gun to destroy them all until you can finally kill the boss.

The credits will roll after the fight.

Challenges can be played by looking at the challenge belt on the right of the main menu. To unlock challenges you need to find the chameleons in all the levels, the boss challenges will be unlocked automatically after defeating a boss.

There are 26 challenges and you have to get rescue both the Silver and Gold bots in every one of them. Most of them are not difficult but some of them can be pretty tricky and will require a couple of tries.

The boss challenges will need to be completed without getting damage in order to save both bots. The other challenges will often ask you to complete a race under a certain time limit, or smash as many enemies as you can to get the required points.

In the Astro ship you can play a crane game to get toys. You’ll need to collect every one of them. Each play costs 100 coins and there are 107 toys to grab + one token so this will cost you a minimum of 108,000 coins. This can cost you more as you can miss your grab or grab bombs. Once you grab a toy, you cannot grab it anymore so don’t worry about duplicates.

You probably won’t have enough coins to grab all the toys after completing the game, but don’t worry about it as the Credits is the best place to get coins quickly. During the credits, you can smash the names with Astro and with your controller, and some of them will have golden letters. This is what you should smash as you will earn coins by smashing them. You can replay the credits as much as you want so if you need coins, this is the fastest way.
Gentleman

Finished off the Spider Boss while looking away
The Spider is the boss of World 4. You cannot replay this boss level once you’ve defeated her; however, once you defeat a boss you will unlock a challenge asking you to defeat said boss without losing a life. So you can still earn this trophy by replaying the challenge.

The pattern of the boss will be the same so check Heartbreak if you need some help. Once you see the boss hanging and you have to shoot her clothes, make sure to look away. The boss needs to be outside of the screen when you kill it to get this trophy.
Shoot the Shu!

Blasted the President's name in the credits

The credits will roll immediately after defeating the last boss, but you can always replay the credits by looking at their planet on the main menu.

During these credits you can smash names with Astro bot or throw bullets at them with . The name you want to shoot is Shuhei Yoshida, you will see it after a little while.
Goooooooal!

Scored a goal on the beach
This trophy can only be earned in level 2-2 Beachside Boogie. After the underwater section, you’ll come across a football field. Defeat the enemies except for the one with a balloon, he will throw it at you so you can smash it with Astro bot to score a goal and get the trophy.
Blrgggbl!!

Splashed yourself with the water gadget

This trophy can be obtained when you have the water gadget. The earliest level is 1-2 Green Fingers.

Aim your controller at your VR headset and press to splash yourself with the water to receive the trophy.
Sucker

Get Astro stuck to your face underwater
(1)
This trophy can be earned in any level with underwater sections, such as 2-2 Beachside Boogie.
Once you’re underwater, simply move your head towards Astro bot and he will eventually get stuck to your face, unlocking the trophy.
You make me spin

Defeated 8 enemies with a single spin attack
For this trophy you’ll have to hold to charge and use the spin attack. It can be a bit tricky as there are not many locations with 8 enemies and the spin will only last a few seconds. But there is an easy way: doing it during the credits. Wait for a group of enemies to spawn and stay close to the names/letters, then activate your spin and defeat the enemies as well as the names/letters in the credits. Each letter counts as an enemy, so you shouldn’t have any trouble getting this trophy here.
Space drift

Hit Astro with the controller in the VR Menu
The VR Menu is where you can look at the planets to select each World. Simply move your controller towards Astro to hit him and get the trophy.
Zapped!

Get shocked while splashing water

For this trophy you need to have the water gadget and you need to hit an electric enemy. You can do that in level 5-1 Stormy Weather.

You will see the electric enemy on a box soon after getting the water gadget, aim towards the enemy and shoot water at him with , this will electrocute your controller and you’ll get the trophy.
Mind the gap!

Defeated an enemy by retracting the rope under it
For this trophy you need to have to rope gadget and enemies must jump on your rope. The best location is in level 1-4 Cliffhanger.

You will eventually reach a big gap and you’ll need to use your rope to help Astro reaching the other side. Some enemies will also jump on the rope so lure them towards you and jump back to safety with Astro. Then retract the rope and the enemy will fall off.

Found a forgotten prize inside the crane machine
In the Astro ship you can play a crane game and get toys; getting them all is required for a trophy. Each play will cost you 100 coins. About halfway into completing the toys collection, a ball with a token inside will drop. Make sure to grab it and you’ll get this trophy.
